“I haven't had a steak in a while so we decided to go here as it is in my favorite neighborhood in Brooklyn and got many good reviews. The place has a very nice ambiance and the service was good. The food was excellent but wow those prices. I don't blame the restaurant at all because they still need to make a buck. We will come back again and if you are in the area and want steak GO!“
“Visiting from the UK and taking a walk down 5th Ave so decided to pop into McMahon’s. Barman Jerry was an amazing host and full of knowledge when giving us ideas for our stay and an around nice guy. I would highly recommend popping into McMahon’s for the great service and superb choice of drinks. Thank you Jerry, you are a true gentleman.“
“I absolutely love norris. From the food to the staff to everything involved there. It's a little funny that it's a couple of little Asian dudes who are able to cook all this delicious food that is more so around the Italian and Irish type of food not to sound like I'm stereotyping anybody but I always found that amusing in some way in a good way. Anyway I love Nora's and I will always be a lifelong customer. It's also an excellent place to have a first date with someone because it's not very formal you can be casual, and have the wishes food, and there's a full bar, and even on certain nights they have some sort of entertainment going on perhaps somebody playing an instrument or a singer, they definitely have added quality to Quentin Road! Norris is an institution around here in more ways than one. I can't tell you how many unfortunately funerals I've been to where the routine does not change everybody goes to the funeral at Marine Park funeral home and right afterwards right across the street everybody goes to Norris to eat and drink, some people in the middle of the service will run across the street for a quick drink or a shot. Anyway nor is is awesome and I will always be a supporter., it is Bonkers and so good that I try to make sure I'm there it's the special once a week I believe on Wednesdays and Thursdays one of the other I always seem to miss it and if it's Thursday I call Wednesday if it's Wednesday I call Thursday lol. But it is the best meatloaf I may have ever had in my life no exaggeration“
“What a great place and so glad we found it just a couple of minutes walk from our hotel. We visited every day during our trip and served the best Guinness in NYC. We had food most days which was tasty and they still served food late. It was my first visit to NYC and the staff were a great help and all had time for a chat. Definitely worth a visit, you won’t regret it.“
“Just a lot of good atmosphere. The food is just pub grub at reasonable prices, which is saying something in NY, but it fills you up well. The well-worn album about 9/11 is very touching and you quickly feel welcomed, even as a tourist. We were there 4 times in 8 days. That speaks for itself.“
“Full marks across the board, everything on the extensive menu is great with the Irish mixed grill and the salmon being my favorites. The portions are huge the servers are all terrific and in the evenings and weekends there is always a lively atmosphere. I highly recommend this place to all food lovers and double recommend it to those on a budget“
“This is one of my favorite restaurants on the Upper West Side. Many great menu items, but my favorite is their chicken pot pie (see pic). I also often order the bruschetta - it’s always prepared perfectly. The ambiance of an Irish pub is full of character. The food, the drinks, and the service here is consistently excellent.“
“The Grafton is an Irish restaurant so I visited it on St. Patrick's Day weekend. The food was decent. My friend found the fish and chips to be a bit greasy but the fries were great. There are tables outside with individual TVs so you can watch sports games with friends.“
“We happened upon this delightful spot after touring the Intrepid. We were hungry for good food and were not disappointed. I had a Franziskaner draft and a cheeseburger, while cooked to well, when I asked for medium, it was well seasoned and had a good flavor on a nice hard roll. My wife had the grilled chicken wrap, I ate 1/2 of it and really liked it. It was a nice balance of pesto and mozzarella to chicken. The side salad wase nicely dressed. This was a seriously nice find, it was charming to walk into one of the oldest continually run bars in NYC and find great draft beer and food at an affordable for NYC price. The service was outstanding as well.“
“The prices are super cheap. Bartenders are always friendly they have a jukebox and vending machine and sometimes they cater food. The game nights (connect4, cards, chess, checkers, dominoes and video games) are absolutely fun. Brother Rob always makes sure everyone has a good time!“
“the friendly neighborhood pub you imagine from TV shows. the staff are super friendly and welcoming. we always have a good time enjoying a drink and laughs. there are darts and pool in the back, too! can’t recommend highly enough for get togethers small and large.“
“We stopped in last Sunday for a pint and wound up staying for the whole afternoon. Caught the GAA game between NYC and Mayo. Super friendly staff and excellent food. Even tried to change our train back to Boston but not able to. Could have stayed all night. Can’t wait to go back again!“
“Awesome burger. The Long Room burger with an egg et al was delicious. Cooked perfectly and came on a soft brioche roll similar to a Shake Shack roll. The pretzel appetizer was hot and soft and also awesome as was the sweet potato fries. Oh did i forget the macaroni and cheese side that came with the burger was also outstanding? On the only down side, this place is extremely loud. We went at 6:00PM after work so it was packed with a lively young crowd who was having a good time. Many large groups of friends....So, keep that in mind ..... Having said that, we had excellent service even with the large crowds. The place was packed in..... A definite return to this establishment.“
“Completely unexpected! Many years ago stepped in unknowingly of their history and was greeted by Jimmy and you felt known even though it was my first visit. Sat at bar and staff was so attentive. Food was incredible! Second visit… was like how I imagine walking into to “Cheers” would have been. Everyone remembered even though months went by! A rare gem in NYC and worth a visit for the amazing food, warm and meaningful hospitality and connections! Became a regular and will always be a stop after leaving NYC on my visits !“
“Me and my boyfriend stopped in to get a drink on Sunday afternoon and Ro was amazing as soon as we walked through the door. She was attentive the whole time and we loved talking to her. Great drinks, great service. I’m from Stony Point, NY and I can’t wait to come back to see the live music.“
“Love coming to this place as a treat after a weird day. The Maggie's old fashioned is the best old fashioned I've had. The ahi tuna nachos are my favorite appetizer. Or if you're looking for something warming and filling, please try the Shepard's pie with the cheese added. No matter how busy it gets, the staff are always nice and easy to communicate with.“
“The apps and entree are terrific!!Mike, the bartender, knows his stuff and is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet!@Parking: The parking lot is small but lots of street parking is available. But who cares the drinks, bartender, and food are terrific!!“
“Stopped in for a couple of drinks while headed to the subway, super glad I did! The bartender was amazing and went out of his way to take care of us. Clean and comfortable traditional Irish pub with plenty of TVs to catch the game. Highly recommend.“
“Amazing Irish spot. 1) The place is very cozy. It is a warm cozy spot on a rainy day. They also have couches, which is very nice. But, getting the couches is tough. There is always someone stilling there. Also, near some seats are changing stations, which is really nice if your phone charge is running low. 2) I will highly recommend the pasties, it is meat filled pastry with gravy. Unbelievable! 3) Their Shepard's Pie was great. But, ask for their gravy on the side. It makes the Shepard's pie go from a 7/10 to a solid 9/10“
“The hot deli counter has cooked food and this time I got a simple cold sandwich. Their breakfast sandwiches are by miles, the best I've had too. Sausage rolls are just as good as what you get in the UK (if only fish & chips was the same!) Great place to stop if you want custom lunch. Slightly on the expensive side though otherwise a very decent spot.“
“We are never disappointed when we stop here when we visit NYC. Atmosphere and food is always fantastic and they make killer Manhattans. We just went for the 2023 Rockefeller tree and the staff was pleasant and accommodating. so happy they were decorated for the holidays. 100% go to in our opinion.“
“I hosted my fiancé's 30th birthday party at Slattery's and I'm so glad I did! The whole team was easy to work with and very accommodating. The private room upstairs is spacious with plenty of seating. The staff was super friendly and service was great throughout the entire night. We were also able to play our own music which is a big plus for us. I would definitely recommend hosting an event here!“
“We were staying in the area and ended up having dinner twice in this pub. 4 stars is average between these two visits. I’d rate one 5 stars but the other 2-3. It seems one of those places where you need to know what to order, even though menu is reasonably short.I do not recommend ordering salmon, which was a small piece of fish on a big pile of spinach. Also the Shepherds pie rendition I was served was the weirdest one (and least good) I’ve ever tried. It was a very thin layer of mediocre beef with 3 pieces of carrots, covered in a pool of gravy with mashed potatoes piped around the perimeter of the plate. In the gravy pool, there were swimming some peas that tasted like they were hastily defrosted before serving. It was under-seasoned and the large pieces of bay leave I had to fish out of the gravy pool were just the proverbial cherry on top.We came back only because the kid liked his burger, it was raining and it was the only restaurant in the area without deafening music. I’m glad we did though because I ordered fish and chips and somehow it was actually fantastic. Granted, “chips” were regular fries but fish was plump, succulent pieces of cod meat with perfectly crisp breading. Tiny portion of cole slaw was also good. Vegetarian burgers are frequently an afterthought at places like this but it was pretty good.Beer on tap was OK, there isn’t a large selection. Got a mixed cocktail in happy hour, don’t recommend it as it was mostly ice in a small glass.Nothing special to say about service. On the first visit, we were left to our own devices until we asked for a check and on the next visit, the waiter stopped by to ask if everything was ok. Beware of credit card fee, we were able to pay with debit card to avoid it. It does leave unpleasant aftertaste though, feels like being bamboozled. Just roll it into your cost, for cripes sake.“
“I was killing time in the city before my flight later that day. This was the 4th spot I visited and I decided to post up for the remainder of my visit. Very chill vibe and the bartender, Lucas, was awesome. Thanks for helping me kill some time! Will definitely stop in on the next visit!“
“If you want to end your night after experiencing times square, this is the place. Just a minute walk. This pub is lit. Made some good friends and the live music makes you go round twoParking: Parking anywhere in NYC is difficult. Plan ahead or wait to get lucky finding a spot“
“Loved visiting this place with a friend for brunch! The food was great for the price and it has such a cozy vibe. The drinks are a good price as well during brunch and I would love to come back again alone or with friends. It’s small and the seating is a bit tight but it’s a good place to hang out. Definitely give it a try if you are in the area! The brunch burger was delicious and cooked how I like it but the main star for me were the truffle fries.“
“Super cool place. We ordered the fish and chips, Philly and Ruben. All looked pretty decent. I personally had the Ruben and it was "ok" not a lot of meat on it at all, like not a little but like the kitchen was running out of meat and could not put anything more on it. Lots of Kraut. The fries were good as well as the habanero mustard they had for dipping. $1 charge for it but whatever. Service was excellent. Nice place to grab a drink and maybe next time the fish and chips.“
“We arrived and were seated immediately. The servers were professional and courteous. They answered questions and were patient while we decided. The appetizer and the food came quickly but not unreasonably so. They seemed to have the timing down. We had fish tacos which were good, but not exceptional. I had a steak which was delicious and cooked as ordered. The twice baked potato was so so. It didn't match the quality of my steak or vegetables. My wife had a simple beet salad which h she enjoyed. Bill came quickly when requested. We will return again.“
“A hidden gem in the wall street area. Beautiful old antique wooden bar brought in from Europe that is well maintained, polished, and stacked with any liquor you could think of. There is a sizable room with tables passed the bar that is perfect to enjoy their delicious dinner specialties -- something you would never expect from a bar. The only reason why I gave it a 4 star rating for the atmosphere is because I have tinnitis which makes it hard to hear conversations in loud gatherings. I was there on a Thursday and the bar was packed . Everyone was having a great time hence loud (but only at the bar area). If it is that packed on a Thursday, I presume that the "party" is constant every day it is open. It is Wall Street after all.“
“Went to NYC for Yankees home opener. First night we visited four Irish pubs. Mulligans was by far the best in several areas: 1) Best ambience 2) Best bartender- both Irish and super attentive and most importantly, 3) By far the best Guinness. My friend, who travels to Ireland at least twice a year, said the Guinness tasted like it does in Ireland. And I thought it was the best Guinness of all the Irish bars we visited in NYC!!!“
“A solid neighborhood spot with good ambiance, friendly service, and a proper pour of Guinness. Can't really ask for much more than that (aside from food, but they're working on getting their kitchen up and running). This is a fine joint to drop in and spend some time in - kudos to the proprietors.“
“Pretty standard Pub, which isn't a chop but praise. Who doesn't love a good Irish/English pub? Decor is great, bathrooms are clean, drinks are plenty. The Barbacoa Tacos were acceptable, the soft taco shells were tasteless, dry, and fell apart. The meat was delicious though. This location is close to GCT which is awesome.“
“In my personal opinion, the best bar in Woodside is undoubtedly exceptional. The bartenders exhibit a remarkable level of friendliness and attentiveness that never fails to impress me. It bewilders me to encounter reviews that contradict my experiences, as I have consistently had nothing but delightful interactions here. One aspect that sets this bar apart is their mastery of crafting Irish carbombs. Every time I've indulged in this classic concoction, it has been flawlessly executed. Furthermore, their pouring technique when it comes to serving Guinness is nothing short of perfection. Without fail, each pint is bestowed with a flawless pour, resulting in a velvety smoothness that delights the senses.Beyond the bartenders and libations, the clientele I've encountered at this bar have always been affable and laid-back. It fosters an atmosphere of camaraderie and warmth, where strangers can easily strike up a conversation and forge connections. The overall ambiance contributes to a consistently great experience, ensuring that every visit is nothing short of memorable. To sum it up, Sean Ogs has consistently provided me with exceptional experiences. The combination of friendly and attentive bartenders, their Irish carbombs, the flawlessly poured Guinness, and the welcoming clientele make it an unparalleled establishment. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an enjoyable and memorable night out.“
“Visited here on a busy Friday evening without a booking during our recent trip to NYC due to my partners Guinness addiction steering us in that direction. They were really kind and found us a table, the service was impeccable and we were very well looked after. I can honestly say the short rib papperdelle is one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth, it was a flavour sensation, I savored every single mouthful. The expresso martini I washed it down with was pretty good too. We went back again on Sunday evening as I wanted to try the New York strip steak which was also delicious. If we are ever in the area again we will certainly be back.“
“Great lunch in NYC! Although there are a few gluten free options it is not really gluten friendly. You could swap out the bun or pasta. There is a cauliflower crust pizza available on the appetizer menu. But, fries are not gluten free. Food we selected was delicious.“
“This Irish pub-style sports bar impresses with efficient and attentive bartenders, easily handling a bustling Saturday night crowd. They offer a diverse selection of Irish whiskeys, like Red Breast, and beers, including Delirium Tremens. The food doesn't seem to be the primary draw, but it's an ideal spot for enjoying drinks with friends and catching a game.“
“Playwright Irish Pub is amazing! Proud to call it home of #TigresEnNYC. It's always great for watching soccer and of course, any other sports. Mazum and the crew are always great not hesitating putting the game for us and making sure we have a great time. The food is amazing and the beer is always cold as it should be!“
“This is a nice neighborhood bar and restaurant and our server was so friendly and helpful. We got there early so we chatted with our server while selecting our drinks. My husband had Guinness Half and half, and I struggled because there were no sours on tap or in cans. I read the draft list more carefully and selected a Down East Cider after having a taste. It was a good choice with a strong apple flavor, a little carbonation and a medium sweetness The menu looked good and the specials sounded nice and next time we will give it a try. Several TV's for watching sports!“
“If I could give this place a million stars, I would because this establishment is more deserving of it than any others I’ve been to. Hole in the wall bar that makes you feel like you’re part of a community. Asad is by and far one of the best, if not the best bartenders I’ve ever met. He makes you feel like you’re family and you’re at home. And in regards to the bar food- some of the best I’ve ever had. HIGHLY recommend the mozz sticks and buffalo wings.Long story short, if you live in or are visiting LIC, this bar has been my go to for years. You won’t regret coming here.“
“Went there with my girlfriend last night to celebrate my first official legal saint Patrick’s day. The waitress there was very nice. She was very informative on the drinks. Knew what she was talking about. The food there was great. Will absolutely return. No doubt. Thank you so much!“
“We’re not from NYC, but whenever we are in town we visit the Milton. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and they truly make you feel at home. I wish this place was in my hometown so I could be one of the regulars. I will 100% come back any time I’m in the city.“
“I've never felt older. I think this bar is made for people who are in college or have recently graduated. Every person I met asked me where I went to school. Don't get me wrong, the bar was filled with very friendly people, it just definitely attracts a certain demographic. At night, the bar area is huge. It's a big open space, which is especially nice in New York. Service was quick and responsive and it was easy to grab a drink!“
“The location of this restaurant is quite convenient being in close proximity to a number of bus & subway lines in addition to the LIRR.If possible try to come here for the weekday lunch special. The New England Clam Chowder and Shepard's Pie (lunch size) was great. If ordering the Shepherd's Pie take care not to touch the bowl it is served in as one can burn their hands.Whether one is a local resident or a traveler this is a fine place to stopover.“
“This is a great bar to watch the eagles games! It feels like you are right in the heart of Philly and you can always can get a drink relatively fast! In the fall when it's still warm, they have a set up on 1st street where they block it off and set up tables and TVs to watch the game.“
“A small neighborhood joint with food that will exceed your expectations.Moran’s is known around town for their burgers, which absolutely live up to the hype. I also recommend trying the Irish Poutine. The fries have an even coating of curry sauce, which means every bite is going to be delicious. Me and my partner ate in mostly silence while we were here, which is a sign that the food really hit our souls here.Drinks wise, there is a solid beer and cider menu, with a number of options from Ireland and the UK that you won’t find at other spots around town.Service wise, everyone here is friendly.“
“Stop in for light fare was impressed with its full menu. We had breaded mushrooms. Chili cheese fries. Rubin sliders and steak tidbits. All delicious fresh. Prices were great service excellent It’s night fir dining but great neighborhood pub Really enjoyed“
“Layout/atmosphere*Irish bar; Bills bar (signed jerseys; watched 2023 Wild Card game against Dolphins); nine TVs; lotto; poker machine; pool table; internet jukebox; electronic dartboard; enclosed area on sidewalk with two high tablesService*GoodFood/drink*Labatt Blue cans*Chicken wings - good*Waffle fries - good“
“My friend and I decided to go here after my friend's cable blacked out during the Seahawks Packers opening kickoff game. The game was on and we grabbed a few beers. The bartender was really cool and the beer was cold. Topped off with 2 Jameson shots before leaving. A very quiet place but reasonably priced drinks and a bunch of tv's.“
“Was visiting family as we are from the Philippines. was able to have dinner with the owner and his beautiful wife. Can't say enough on the great food, service and company!! If you want a TRUE NYC experience THIS IS THE PLACE. Thanks for the great time...“
“Classic spot , newer location,Chicken fingers with honey mustard, fresh homemade pot roast. It doesn't get better.Service is excellent, food selections are excellent.Don't forget them daily homemade specials.TV's galore, and great great crowd.“
