As we were a table of two sitting in the middle-every time they walked by their tails of the shirt would hit us and our table. If you’re going to wear a very baggy loose shirt-tuck it in-to prevent this annoyance.No one seemed to be pressed for time-taking orders-fresh drinks-etc. the doorman stated when the next reservation was-as a warning not to linger more than 1.30 hours, but the waitstaff seemed clueless to this as it was she and her absence that kept us there almost 2 hours. Mind you-we were enjoying the wine, food, and conversation so we didn’t mind, except we had show tickets and were almost late. The waitress had an air of royalty attitude- better than us-as we are lucky she would visit our table and take our order. This is how she made me feel.Food is as delicious as beautifully plated. The atmosphere and food stole the show-the staff needs training-I’m not going to remove a star from the review for the staffing issues as the restaurant as a whole-and their food-is stellar. The duck is super delicious and I would say it is the star dish of the house, the quantity is abundant, it is enough for 3 people. The pastas are also very delicious, the bucatini amatriciana comes in a good quantity, but the ripiene is a small dish. You have to book in advance and in general it is a very worthwhile experience.“

We've been staying in the Franklin Guesthouse (hotel adjacent to Madre) for a couple of nights and decided to give Madre a shot - boy were we in for a treat! Firstly, shout out to Armando, who made us feel immediately welcomed with his warmth and energy! For food, we got the Frutti di Mare, Croquetas, Brussels Sprouts, Cornbread Madeleines (compliments from chef) and Chicken - massive MASSIVE props to Chef Bryan and his very talented team. To say that they cooked "well" would be the understatement of 2022. They absolutely blew our minds with top quality medley of ingredients, depth of flavor, and masterful execution in every way. Cocktails were fun and delectable, which added the perfect "pop" to the culinary rocket ship that Madre served up. Just when my wife and I were ready to call it a night, Chef Bryan and Armando were kind enough to bring out the Pot de Creme for us, which was the bow and ribbon on this very special dinner. My only regret of the night was not having enough stomachs to enjoy more of what Madre could serve up. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Madre!“
“The best brunch plate that I've ever had. And I don't speak that easily. Felt like I was eating a dinner entree for brunch - in a good way. Duck pastrami hash & poached eggs, caramelized onion, parsley salsa verde & local greens. Poached eggs were cooked perfectly and the salsa was great. The duck and the hash was other worldly. Tons of duck. In almost a stew of small potatoes perfectly softened. In some type of gravy. Wow. Even the greens are great. Nice light dressing. Almost salty. Service was friendly and attentive. My daughter said her avocado toast was excellent. I don't make it to Brooklyn that frequently but can't wait to go back to this great spot. I didn't drink that day but they had a nice looking and well stocked bar.“

Knowledgeable, kind and low key. They were attentive but not overbearing or pushy. Food was 10/10 and atmosphere was 10/10. Didn’t realize they had an upstairs and rooftop as well. Will definitely come back when it’s warmer for the rooftop. Also, I rate bathrooms and give them 10/10, since there were no lines with as busy at it was and they had many. Dane and Josh went out of their way to ensure everyone was taken care of.“

“My wife and as New Mexican natives have searched far and wide on our travels for “real New Mexican food”. Santa Fe BK is unquestionably the best we have had. John and Melissa, the owners did their research and it shows in the food. The place itself is charming, especially the outdoor patio with “Betty” the apple tree anchoring it. Owners were very friendly and knowledgeable. Their Chimayo red and Hatch green chiles (the heart of New Mexican cooking) were excellent. We’ll definitely be back on our next NY trip.“

“Pecking House had some of the best fried chicken I have had in recent times. It was elevated and you could tell there is an extra level of sophistication to their chicken. Different flavors, different techniques and some Asian fusion aspects that pair so perfectly well with the classic American style fried chicken. Cornbread was excellent, dirty fried rice was also superb and the chili chicken sandwich really hit the spot. Can't wait to return to Pecking House in the future! When planning the trip, Colonie caught my eye so we decided to give it a try. I’m so glad we did, because it quickly turned into the absolute highlight of our trip and was an evening we won’t forget. The service is outstanding - each individual host made us feel like family. We were never short beverages, and our space at the chefs table was kept tidy at all times - no empty plates left behind. The sous chefs are impossibly talented at what they do and gave every single plate attention and care before it left their sight. “We booked this place strictly off of seeing their viral Instagram post from @righteouseats and their affiliations with the Win Son restaurant across town. I thought Win Son was a 10/10 dining experience so of course I had high expectations. Service/Ambiance:We arrived as soon as they opened, and we were quickly seated in tables for two with stool type chairs it definitely was a tight squeeze as the place quickly filled up. There is really no where to place your coat if you're sitting in this area unless you walked about 10 feet to the bar are where there was a hook on the wall. Those backless chairs quickly became an issue for my 6'2" frame. Our waitress Sharon was excellent! She was attentive and super friendly and helpful making food recommendations, etc and definitely the reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 3. Food:Food was mid for me. The toast tasted oily, the ribs were overcooked AND oily. You def needed that sauce but I wasn't going to pay $7 for a sauce sampler. The once saving grace was the rice. It was flavorful and yummy and the chicken was moist and crispy as it should be. I probably won't be visiting again and stick with Win Son restaurant and bakery.“

They asked us to sit at a table inside by the bathrooms instead. We said we would prefer to wait for the table we booked outside, and we waited about 40 minutes. “I came here with my girlfriend to celebrate 6 months of dating. We were greeted by a wonderful hostess who seated us right away, even though we were a bit early. We were give. The table of our choice and then were met by our wonderful waitress Grace who began to share her thoughts on the menu and provide updates on which items were and were not available. The food came out in a very timely fashion and everything was delicious. My girlfriend ordered the Beet Salad, Parmesean Fries and we split the Brussel Sprouts. I ordered the Braised Ribs. Everything was made to perfection. We also had two cocktails each. Both drinks were made with premium alcohol and although they were strong, they didn’t overpower the flavor. I had a Chocolate Martini and she had the Blackberry Bramble. We finished up with a chocolate gelato and blood orange sorbet which were delectable together. The ambience was great and the decor was fabulous. We will definitely make a return visit.“

The place is really cool with a solid 1920s style and vibe and I definitely understand why they're getting more hype these days. Our wait staff was super accommodating - a friend was slightly late but they sat us, served us and didn't skip on anything. Started with the bread, chicken pate and the mushrooms, which were solid, shared a couple salads that were gigantic and then our steaks all came out great. I skipped on the charred lemon thing they do, but my friends were hype on it. Even on it's own, it was great. One thing that was kinda funny was the drink list. For some reason a Weller Special Reserve was $60/pour at 2 ounces, while Weller CYPB was like $24? Stagg was $19. Whoever runs the drinks program might want to read up on current market values, or if they do know then I love what's going on here, lol. Solid, solid wine list, too.“

The servers were helpful, personable, kind and of course my favorite- present without being overbearing. The short ribs were delectable with very tasty fries. The steak was perfectly cooked. I was afraid that I would still feel hungry since it was served with just a salad but the balance was perfect and I ended up feeling satisfied. We kept off the night with a sweet touch of soft served vanilla ice cream. A perfect way to end a lovely evening.“

“We started off with some tasty cocktails: A Japanese twist on a margarita and an amazing whiskey-based pink one (the name escapes me but it was truly unique and delicious. We had their rendition of a Caeser salad, which was enormous. The deep fried burrata was also quite big… and truly unique and scrumptious. I could have drank the cheesy broth all night. The fried hen was nice. The black cod was as well. The sticky pudding with lime ice cream dessert was massive, but the two of us managed. Also - get the potatoes…. A great compliment to everything.“
