“I grabbed dinner here and it did not disappoint. This was a cute and cozy spot just a few steps from the L train. For cocktails, I started with the Spicy Mezcal Marg. It wasn't my favorite, as I expected it to be spicier, since Szechuan peppercorn and Calabrian chili were some of the ingredients used. My next drink was the Hugo Spritz, which was amazing!! It made up for the first drink: it was refreshing and sweet (but not too sweet). For apps, we had the Rye Pita and hummus. Now let me just say, I am not a hummus girlie, but the hummus here was so flavorful and smooth. It wasn't gritty as I have experienced in the past. It definitely paired well with the pita. The star of the show was the Lahmajun, which is sort of like a pizza (without cheese) with lamb. I was pleasantly surprised. The lamb, the herbs & spices were just so delicious. Our server told us to dip it in the hummus and I had no regrets. We also had the braised chicken thigh, which felt very much like comfort food. The chicken was seasoned generously and cooked to perfection. We also had the lamb meatballs, which were so tender. The pairing with pomegranate really brought the flavors out. “We came across Aura on a night out, and we are so happy that we decided to go in. We loved it so much, that we stayed till closing. The owner welcomed us with so much warmth, and hospitality.He was incredibly accommodating and got us seats by the beautiful, electric bar even though it was full. “We sailed from RYC for an overnight into sheepshead bay and were searching a good Mediterranean or Turkish restaurant. Had a few ideas as we walked down Emmons avenue. Saw Lokum and decided to check it out. Decor was modern and elegant, our waiter Fort, was knowledgeable & helpful and they had a fantastic3 piece jazz trio playing! We ordered the goddess salad to share with lentil falafel and plates to share, grilled octopus, zucchini pancakes, halloumi & avocado ganouj. Everything was so tasty & superb! We had luscious baklava for desert. We would haves lived to longer longer but had to catch the 9:15 launch back to our boat. We will definitely be back for another sublime meal next season!“

“An Excellent Turkish Restaurant in NYC !!!I was in New York City for a business trip last week and by searching for a Turkish place in Midtown I came across Akdeniz. I was met with true Turkish hospitality, everyone was very nice. I had the Iskender Kebab which tasted as if I was in Istanbul. It was very fresh and tasty. The babaghannous was nicely made you could taste the fresh roasted eggplant, as good as the best in Turkey. It was such a great experience that two days later I went back for lunch and had the Adana Kebab which was one of the best Ive had in the States. I highly recommend Akdeniz!!!“

I enjoyed it just as much as previously , the food and service does not disappoint.The chicken soup , haloumi salad, mezze plate and the grill plate made me feel happy. MUSHROOM LASAGNA: i was not expecting that it will be good, cause it is just mushroom on it. The lasagna is so creamy and rich. Best lasagna I had. LANCASTER COUNTY ROAST CHICKEN: another favorite! The chicken is soft and the skin is so crispy! You can taste the lemon and garlic flavors in the chicken. SALMON: another favorite! The salmon is cooked perfectly and melts like butter. Broccoli rabe taste good too with bits of garlic. PORK CHOP MILANESE: its like tonkatsu! The meat is soft and the outside is breaded and crispy! CAESAR SALAD: it is so good too! Best salad i had! It has crispy anchovy on it which adds crispiness to the salad. MEATBALLS: so juicy inside and cooked perfectly. I love the bread that comes with it. CALAMARI: kinda salty, but otherwise good! Its crispy as well and the dipping sauce is good. OLIVE OIL CAKE: the cake is moist and soft. The strawberries makes it fresh. CHOCOLATE BUDINO: omg this is my favorite also! The cream is silky and the peanuts with it is soo good! As if you are eating ice cream that is not cold! Price rating: 8/10, worth every penny!
