50 Best Seafood Restaurants near Maspeth

Ocean Prime, Bar and Restaurant Burgers •
64-14 Flushing Ave, Maspeth

“Four of us dined. Three had the ribeye, medium rare, and they were delicious. One had the filet mignon cooked medium. It was overcooked, no pink, and tough. Loaded baked potato and asparagus were fine; nothing special. Chocolate torte and warm butter cake desserts were good. The service was fine; waiter was pleasant. Overall though, prices versus the actual quality/taste received were a bit on the high side.“

“My Big Bro and I came to the Cheeks right as it opened as we didn't have a reservation, but we had clear eyes and full hearts, which is likely more important. After initially being perturbed by a long line at 12pm on a Saturday, the patrons began to flow in and we were seated at the bar with the natural light flowing through the big window panes that overlook Bond Street. I honestly prefer bar seating most of the time, just way more mellow.I was BIG hungry as I had just MOGGED the squat rack, pushing 135 for like 10 reps... Funny enough my nickname in high school was actually Big Hung, haha.We sat and big bro does this thing he loves to do where he asks the waiter what they recommend, only to not get whatever is recommended ahahhaaha. We opted to get the grilled cuttlefish, chicken wings, crab fried rice, and the steamed fish. I normally only highlight one dish, but this meal was a total team effort. WE NOT ME!The cuttlefish was like a less chewy octopus that had some SPICE, it even tapped big bro out! Chicken Wings at $15 were a STEAL and delicious. Crab Fried Rice was the glue guy willing to do all the dirty work. Crab Fried Rice was Tony Allen, just a DAWG... It brought our palates back to earth before that steamed fish.Steamed fish was PACKED with flavor, herbs, and spices and sits in a delectable cilantro lime broth that I may or may not have been eating by the spoon once we eliminated the fish. It was the perfect end to a perfect meal. The Cheeks lived up to the hype, some of the best Thai food I've had in NYC… But the best I've ever had still belongs to Kalaya in Philly. If you ever in Philly you gotta get to Kalaya, it's spiritual.IG @jnov_Tiktok @jnov__“

“Wow…! If you follow my reviews, you probably know I’m picky. Sitting in Maison Premiere right now and I have no words except awesome! These are the nicest waiters that i’ve ever met in the whole New York City restaurant experience until now, trust me, we’ve been to Michelin-starred restaurants and the waiters can’t compare to the genuine feeling that the waiters here make us feel. Amazing drinks; try to get a table along the bar then you can enjoy the bartender shows, they are pros. Well, we go to restaurants to enjoy food, right? So here comes the food review: oysters and shrimp are fresh, we tried raw scallops for the first time, and it opened some channels in my brain lol, best pork chop we’ve ever had, charred on the outside, super tender inside. We got the crème brûlée; it was smooth, creamy. I did taste a hint of alcohol in it which is a plus since I like desserts with alcohol associated with it. I have no better words now; will come back for a check and balance review. So far, I enjoy the experience, atmosphere, and the people here. LOVE it! Sorry no food fotos, I was amazed by the food forgot to take picture lol. Yeah it was that good!“

The host's warm welcome adds to the inviting ambiance, making you feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the food--it's simply outstanding. Another must-try is the octopus with fried onion, a delightful combination of textures and tastes that leave a lasting impression. “Overall - really unique spot that I recommend! The food was the highlight. Kangaroo tartare is a must (details stood out - the homemade chips on down) and the monkfish was one of the more unique fish dishes (along with some incredibly flavorful fried sunchokes) we’ve ever had. The venison heart skewers were tasty and fun, but nothing to write home about and I’d probably skip them next time.Wine menu was solid and the glasses we had were new to us/also well priced.Service was good overall - had a mix of team members working with us and the owner (?) came by multiple times to make sure everyone was doing okay, which was a nice touch.Ambiance-wise it was so so because we were in the back and also sat in between other seatings so it was oddly empty for part of the meal, but I chalk that more up to circumstance than the restaurant itself. The check - we paid $220 for two small plates, one large plate, and 4 glasses of wine. This isn’t bad largely because the wine glasses were well priced and we didn’t eat a ton. The food is definitely on the pricier side for the dish size ($25-30 for small plates, $50+ for large) but not super expensive.“

“Best experience!! We had a private event at American Brass in January for about 20 people. Everything was perfect! The restaurant is gorgeous, and the food was delicious! We loved the style and atmosphere of the restaurant. Our menu included a champagne toast, appetizers, their amazing focaccia bread, steak frites, the polenta, passed desserts, and a cake. They were also able to accommodate a vegetarian option. It was all so good!! Everyone really loved their food, as well as drinks at the bar afterwards! The staff are all incredibly friendly and accommodating. Tegwyth, American Brass’s Events Manager, was so thoughtful and instrumental to planning our event! She worked closely with us for months leading up to the party and had great suggestions. Ellen, American Brass’s Executive Pastry Chef, made us the most beautiful and delicious cake. Everyone was raving about the cake! Juan, our server, was also phenomenal and went above and beyond. The restaurant is directly across from the Gantry Park Piers, great for photos. Everything was beautiful and polished. It felt fancy and well put together. Highly recommend American Brass and their team for small weddings and events! Thank you again!“

“Love this place! The sushi is so fresh and tasty. And reasonably priced. Free green tea pudding with Yelp check in! The pudding is topped with a spoonful of sweetened red beans. A delicious dessert! My favorite is salmon and here, it's melt in your mouth fresh and yummy. My favorite dish here is the Salmon Lover. It's salmon four ways plus a side of kani salad with some roe on top. Thick generous portions of sashimi, also has sushi, salmon avocado roll, and a grilled salmon collar (when available, otherwise you get 2 pieces of salmon belly). This place is so good, in one week, I went 3 times and still not tired of it. Not crazy about the chicken kaarage. The pieces are too small so when fried, it becomes dry and loses its juicy tenderness. Tried some skewers. A tad on the dry side. I'd stick with the sushi. Though the skewers were very popular with the kids at the table. Service. Attentive. Tea constantly being refilled. Decor. It's a small place. Lots of wood decor. The space is narrow with seating to the left and right. In front, a few private mini booth rooms covered with a curtain, line the side of the restaurant. These can seat up to 4 people. There is also a small party room downstairs. In the back, you can sit in front of the sushi chefs if you like, at a high counter.“

If I could nitpick, it'd be that the space is a bit brighter than I'd like, but that kind of the Junho Choi style. All good. This place is the real deal and my meal was just hit after hit.“

We had no reservation so I was a bit worried, however when I asked the hostess if there was room for us she was super accommodating and sweet and made us feel very welcome. I didn’t get her name but she was really tall and well dressed. We will definitely be visiting again next time we are in town!!“

“Mussette in Harlem is a wine bar that truly understands the art of hospitality. From the moment I stepped in, the customer service was stellar—attentive without being overbearing. The Women’s History wine flight they offer is not just unique but also a testament to their commitment to inclusivity and celebration of diversity in the wine world. And let's talk about their charcuterie boards—absolutely sublime! The selection of cheeses, dried fruit and nuts paired perfectly with the wines we chose. But what truly sets Mussette apart is the warmth and genuine passion of the staff. They made our evening unforgettable, offering insights and recommendations that enhanced our experience. If you're in Harlem and looking for a cozy spot with exceptional wine and hospitality, Mussette is the place to be.“

Still thinking about the seabass tartare and the mafaldine with king crab mmmmm. The team there is TOPS. They execute flawless fine dining service in a way that feels genuine, cool, calm and collected. Many many thanks to Whitney, Darnelle, Naomi and Josh. Already looking forward to my next visit.“

What made our experience nice was the friendly server. She was full of good cheer. There were a few families with children, so the place felt warm and welcoming.“

“Besides the fact that the service was excellent, from start to finish, the food was truly outstanding, beginning with a generous slab of parmesan cheese with bread at the beginning. I had the tomato soup, served piping hot as it should be, with melted cheese at the bottom of the bowl--wonderful touch! Had the Ramerino salad as a second course which was served with a light lemon/olive oil dressing--fantastic--followed by the spaghetti alla chitarra, which was great. The portions were generous throughout. If you like Italian food, you'll love this place--fresh, excellent ingredients beautifully prepared and plated.“

“This is a great restaraunt with a delicious menu and friendly staff. On the flipside, it took over 2 hours to be served at a reserved 6pm seating, which was really too long of a wait. The manager kindly compensated us for the wait, but this seemed to me to be a fundamental failure of a core element of our dining experience.“
