“I hated Lima beans, until I ate them at Contento. In fact, everything I ate there was perfection. My husband and I sat at the bar, which is exactly where I’d sit again. It’s cozy, comfortable and you can see some of the kitchen action as well as chat with fellow diners. The chef came out and helped us pick out a great bottle of wine. I use a wheelchair, which is what first attracted me to going to Contento. I appreciate feeling included. But I have recommended the place to friends and the next time I’m in New York I look forward to going back.“

I got the basic Khachapuri and the Khinkali (Georgian dumplings), and both came in big servings. “I attended a surprise party this Saturday evening. The cuisine was preselected, waiter service was excellent, should receive raises. The table arrangement was very poor. The party was downstairs in one of the private rooms. We were 25 people at one very long table, basically the length of the room, which made it difficult for guests to get around the seated persons at the head of the table on either side. Having two tables would have been a better arrangement, but one long table was not conducive for conversation since we were so far from the other end of the table. The food; not many complaints, I really didn’t have a problem. I didn’t have a lot of food, but it was delicious. The dessert, sorry not very good. Those Famous Crepes(palacinkes) sorry not that great. A lot of crepe and not a lot of filling. The dish was served with fruit, unfortunately this fruit was not in season, so the watermelon although it added color to the dish, upon tasting it, left much to be desired. Why not serve fruit that is in season? No offense to my party hosts who selected my menu for the evening, it didn’t lend itself to the 5 Star Reputation of Dubrovnik’s. I would like to make reservations and splurge on a dinner on my own, I have a feeling I would LOVE the experience! Btw, another plus was the parking!“
“I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. This was our second time here and it has quickly become one of our goto places in Astoria. From the greeting at the door to the selection of great wine and cocktails- all unique because the are craft brews- to the staff answering our many questions about the very different and delicious menu to the quality of the food- an awesome experience. He couldn't be closer to the truth! We enjoyed great service from the staff, a good ambiance, and delicious food. The food came out of the kitchen in what seemed like five minutes and it was good. Wouldn't recommend linguine bongole if you are sensitive to spice because of the pepper flakes, but it was still a great dish. The pizza and the penne vodka were out of this world flavor, and for a reasonable price too. If you are looking for an Italian place that has won the hearts of the locals, this is the place for you.Vegetarian options: If there is a dish with meat, you can ask them to take it out.“

My husband ordered the chicken parm vodka special and I ordered the ravioli and meatball. We easily could have split the chicken parm to share. It was easily one of our favorite meal experiences, as everything was made to perfection. For dessert we ordered the cheesecakes.. I have high expectations for cheesecake and theirs did not disappoint. We both left feeling stuffed but in the best way. No notes. 12/10.“

I loved my burger — the thick patty, sourced from Ottomanelli’s (for local UESers), had quality you could taste. It’s served on an English muffin which is unique and totally works! This was one of the few burgers where I didn’t feel absolutely stuffed/heavy after eating it which was refreshing. Highly recommend ordering it with the white cheddar cheese! The low lights, soft jazz, wooden furnishings, delicious food, and welcoming service make this place an easy 5 star ??“

The owner Stephanie I think is her name was so welcoming and even let our dog come join us as it was late and not crowded in the front. Their handmade pastas are ALL excellent (my fav is the bucatini) and their pizzas are soft and chewy and pillowy. The staff are all warm and friendly and the vibe is just relaxed and chill. Whether it’s a cold winter night sipping an old fashioned or a warm summer afternoon sipping a Negroni, there’s no other place I’d rather be at than Bar 314. This is a destination restaurant. “Best pizza on the UES! And it's crafted even better in this new, beautiful space, at 1716 2nd Ave (corner of 89th). Deliciously crafted, expertly baked thin pies with fresh ingredients and billowy, perfectly browned crust. Toppings include interesting combinations of fresh mozzarella and buffalo mozzarella, flavorful marinara, pancetta, sweet sausage, anchovies, prosciutto, etc. We used to eat at or get take out from the old (way too small) spot a block away at 2nd and 90th. The new location at 2nd and 89th is a beautifully designed sit-down restaurant with a bar and plenty of seating. Full menu includes white pizzas, salads, antipasti, and pasta dishes, but we haven't tried those yet because we love the red pizzas so much. We have had the broccoli rabe with garlic and it was perfectly sautéed.“

Hastings is a 15 minute drive from the city but makes you feel like you're a whole world away. Boro6 is within walking distance of several unique small businesses including a vinyl shop and boutiques. Everything is centrally located on Warburton ave or on Main Street where you can find plentiful parking. The area is a hidden gem and makes you feel like you're actually in a small town as opposed to minutes from NYC. It's perfect for scenic views of the Hudson, an afternoon stroll, then dinner and a glass of wine at Boro6.Now more about the wine bar... it is so nice to see the attention to detail and how much they genuinely care about the dining experience. Everything is hand crafted. The menu has so many options and they add new items often with well thought out pairings making each visit unique. The food is always delicious.THE WINE! In the last year or so they have released their own house blend which we were very excited to try. Needless to say it did not disappoint. The restaurant is spacious yet still gives the cozy vibes you desire from a wine bar. The staff is so nice, its evident that the owner really cares as you can tell a lot by the way the staff interacts not just with clients but with each other. When I come back I promise to add pictures to my review but after having yet another wonderful experience here I just needed to take a moment out and give them the kudos they deserve.
