“I came here on a whim and it was delicious, great service and the food had so much flavor. The dishes were huge and affordable. We ordered the beef Sancocho, bandeja paisa and a arepa con queso. My only complain is I prefer the queso fresco on my arepa not regular mozzarella. The portions were big enough for two people. Beans were tasty and the soup tasted like my own homemade soup.“

My wife is Peruvian and has an incredibly high bar and it’s authentic with the owner / chef making everything fresh being superb quality.We regularly go to Lima, eating at the best restaurants there and Mistura can hang with any of them. “This pan-Latin restaurant is a must if you are in the area. The menu had several interesting Tapas selections, which could serve as appetizers, sides, or even your main course. There were also traditional main course options, as well. We ordered a variety of fish tacos, calamari salad, brussel sprouts, and of course guacamole and chips to whet our appetites. Each were scrumptious. I had the braised beef as my main course which was moist, delicious, and just the right portion. We shared churros for dessert, which were light, crunchy, and simply divine. “Delicious Latin dishes and good atmosphere. There's a nice bar here but the real winner are the appetizers. It's basically tapas which I'm not a fan of but they are good portions. My wife ordered the fish croquettes, empanadas, and chorizo and I'm shrimp (in red sauce). I got the baked chicken and .ash potatoes with a side of plantains. I was so full. Will def be going back for another date night.“
“I'd forgotten how much I loved the old Corona lunch turned Ambar Restaurant and recently rediscovered it while in the area craving Dominican food. Great new location with parking and tables instead of the old counter service. I was informed they only serve Sancocho on Monday and Wed. So we had the seafood soup and Oxtail stew instead. The seafood soup came with big pieces of lobster in the shell and was served with a lobster cracker. There was tons of shellfish and seafood as well in a rich delicous soup. The oxtail was divine. We came back two days later just for the Sancocho. Service was great. I highly recommend!“

“Excellent Peruvian food in Port Chester. The ambiance is bare-bones, with huge TVs on either side of the dining room so that you will be watching something however your chair is facing. The service is friendly and attentive. The food is some of the best in Westchester. Everything is phenomenal, from the soft, warm, toasty rolls they bring you in the beginning, which come with both butter and a spicy green sauce, to the main courses. I am a big fan of fried fish, which is fried tilapia. It comes with either French fries and salad or rice and beans. I have also had the bistec milanese and sampled the lomo saltado- everything is delicious. The best side you can order here is the sweet maduros/platanos which come out very hot, but are some of the best I've ever had.“

When I looked at the menu, neither the name of the restaurant or the chef matched the type of cuisine - however, I was pleasantly surprised. “When we went to this restaurant a few weeks ago, it had the name Makondo, not Pantojarse.The environment in Makondo was welcoming and warm, with a mural of los cafeteros that immediately lets you know you're in Colombia. There is a take-away area at the front where you can purchase breads, arepas, and other easily portable foods, in addition to the tables and seating area in the back of the restaurant. We opted to dine-in for breakfast and try a variety of plates: calentado, arepa con chicharron, morcilla, and bunuelos. The calentado transported me back to Medellin and, honestly, it kept me full for the entire day. The morchilla, arepas, and chicharrones were cooked to perfection and we were provided with a variety of sauces to add an extra boost of flavor. Absolutely everything was delicious and the prices are incredibly reasonable when compared with the other breakfast restaurants in the area. The service was very friendly and attentive. Most of the clients spoke Spanish, including us, but we did hear them speaking English with a few tables that morning. This restaurant is a little piece of Colombia in White Plains and brings some much needed diversity (and flavor!) to the regular breakfast scene in this city.“
