“Love birria-landia in brooklyn and decided to come to the roosevelt ave location. This one definitely seems larger as they had a whole section for orders and things. Food is always good but i will say it did get pretty expensive. Downside is that parking in this area is difficult.“
“Love all the items on the menu! Tacos were crispy, loaded with tender and juicy shredded pork. Each bite was a magical combination of savoriness, sourness, sweetness, cheesiness…insanely packed with flavors. The price is unbelievable in 2024 NYC! “
“I'll keep this short and to the point: this is the best burrito I've had in the city hands down, and it's not close. Everything fresh and phenomenally seasoned, the lengua is succulent, the al pastor just the right spicy-sweet mix, I can't wait to try a few more meats. The staff is super friendly and the food comes out quick. As far as ambiance, getting in and out of there in record time is all you really want from a food truck. The best.“
“If you grew up eating chicken over rice at halal carts in the city only to go vegan later in life you've experienced the extreme disappointment that comes with ordering falafel over rice without white sauce. It's a tragedy and a reason never to visit a halal cart again. Not at Sam's. Here the falafel is king and the platter is a shrine to the balls of chickpea. The sides and sauces all pack a punch of flavor and keep you coming back for more. The guys who work the cart are really sweet too. These falafels occupy a place in my heart.“
“Hidden gem of a food truck. Lots of meat in the tacos. Delicious consomme. Open late. What's not to love? They have a deal for 3 tacos but I recommend getting 5 if you are hungry.Consomme has lots of meat chunks too so you will get your fill of protein here.“
“Great beef chapli kebabs! I went with the platter, definitely recommend. Not a fan of them pouring the sauces on top of the kebabs and rice so I suggest getting those on the side. Also, heads up, their chicken shawarma is ginormous! Great stuff for sure.“
“When I find a gem, I share it! Yes, yes, yes! Hallelujah to good food! We were trying to find some tacos to eat before going home and I came across a little taco truck that I had to try! They have the pastor tacos in the traditional rotating-roster, and they were delish! I also had an elote ? with everything, and a tiny bit of the powder-picante was enough for me to get a kick of spice in my mouth that turned on all the right taste buds! The lady who took care of us was polite, fast, and so kind! I will definitely be back to try the other tacos they have!!“
“The Blended Bistro is amazing. Everything I’ve had has been absolutely delicious. My favorite things are the ham croquettes, the Cuban chicken sandwich, the pernil and I can go on!! If you haven’t been there this is a place you need to run and check out. Staff is great, place is adorable, cozy and feels like home. Owner Maddy, has knocked it out of the park with all her recipes.“
“Great!! As someone who grew up in TX, I’m usually disappointed in Manhattan’s Mexican food options, but this is actually authentic and delicious! The consumé in particular was phenomenal. Only way this could be better is if they also sold horchata or tamarindo aquas frescas?“
“Mama Jo is just an amazing human being. The breakfast hits right on the spot. Coffee is even more amazing. If you work near or around GC or are taking the train from/to GC around peak time morning’s - you need to stop by!Vegetarian options: Veggies can get the Greek Spinach Pie or Olive Bread“
“I love this truck because it's independent individuals making quality, fresh, craft food. I actually get a hot dog more often than a sausage hero, but both are very good. They allegedly use a Sabrett's (skinless) dog just like everyone else, but their dogs are far plumper than you find from most other places and they use a Martin's potato roll. And they're grilled, which I prefer to the boiled dogs from the other truck up the street. When I get a sausage hero (which I just got myself in the mood for), I get it topped with marinara sauce. There's only one negative to this truck. They shut down at around 3:30pm each day and I don't think they're ever there on Sundays or holidays. In my perfect world, they'd be there practically 24 hours a day, so if I had a craving at 11pm, I could get my dog or sausage hero. Like everybody else, they've raised prices - dogs are $4 and I think the hero sandwiches are now $12, but still well worth it.“
“This is a very underrated truck in the city. One of the best birria spots I've tried in a while. I tried this place on new years, and it was sooo good, I dragged any of my friends that mentioned anything about food that day. I first got the birria torta, which was a heavenly sandwich, and a great deal for 10$. I also went back for a birria quesadilla, which was also really good! The service was quick both times, and I really appreciate them keeping reasonable prices on new years, with 1 dollar waters and 2 dollar sodas! I can't speak too much about the ambiance because I assume this was a temporary location for new years, but I would follow this truck anywhere. No food pics, food was gone way before I ever thought about taking a picture.“
“This truck hasn't failed me yet. Anytime I visit my mother in sunset park, I make sure to stop and pick up food too bring home. The birria consome is delish. The tacos are great quality, flavored, and full of meat. They don't skimp on the rations. Best part I can phone my order in and pickup so it reduces the wait time. Definitely must try if you are in the neighborhood.“
“Just had an egg, cheese and Turkish sausage on a croissant with small coffee, light and sweet. This hidden gem (because it’s in a parking lot of a gas station, is amazing. This sandwich is the best I’ve ever had, and the coffee (he warmed the cream) was perfection. Going to come back for some lunch and dinner - definitely my new favorite spot.“
“Got the chicken over rice here and wasn't expecting much but was surprised by the value and taste. The serving was more than enough for two people and the taste was good. He even put in extra sauce and salad for us. No nonsense and definitely would recommend this food truck if you're looking for halal food in SoHo.“
“We went to this food truck late last night for Halal and it was very tasty! We ordered the chicken over rice and got a very big portion for only $11. The employees were very friendly and got the food out within 5 minutes. We would come back here to order Halal if we are out again in Hoboken.“
“Generous portions, consistent great taste, and very affordable at $10-11 for most dishes! I've gotten their chicken drunken noodles and pad see ew and both have been very tasty and perfect for a cheap after-work dinner. The woman at the food truck is always friendly and the noodles are prepared fast, which is a plus.“
“Neat little place for Indian street snacks. It's definitely an acquired taste and may not be something for everyone's palate. Either way, it's worth a try. I had the guava masala salad. It was quite good. I didn't like the aftertaste of the bitter sauce. I would have made it different.“
“Even if Luis and his team didn't make some of best food in the neighborhood it would be worth going to their truck just to get some of their positive energy. But like I said, the food also rules. I haven't tried the burger but tacos, burritos and ESPECIALLY the empanadas are delicious, big and made fresh to order. And open late, which is getting annoyingly rare for Greenpoint. Go see them.“
“Best food we ate in NYC, especially because we can't get it in San Francisco. The $10 price point makes it even more delicious and worth the hour wait in line. Portions are perfect for post-show munchies and you can tell the meat is so fresh. Always ask for extra white sauce!“
“I always hoped for an excellent yakatori spot near Hoboken - never would have guessed it would be a dedicated chef working over red hot coals in front of the Starbucks on Newark. Bless this man.I ordered 2 mushroom skewers & one chicken. Was VERY VERY good. Like, I haven't had skewers this good since hitting up that Michelin star Yakatori spot in the city (I do hope they still exist, its been a while).Admittedly, I've passed by him MANY times before making a purchase. I was always either on my way to a lunch with someone in the city or on my way back from one. This time, funnily enough, I was coming back from having handrolls at a nice place. You'd figure I'd be Japan'd out - nope - there was capacity and I had put it off long enough. Was very much worth it. Don't make the same mistake I did, just go for it.It does take time for him to do his magic - he suggested in the future that I could get the order going in advance by sending a message on Instagram. Will take him up on that next time - especially when it's freezing out.“
“Delicious food at a great price. Quick and easy meal to grab for lunch, without having to wait long at all. Been around here for 5 years and Its been my favorite spot that I go to for lunch at least once or twice a week. Definitely add the chipotle mayo, its a game changer.“
“The best birria tacos! Super juicy and loaded and they come with pickled onions on the side. Convenient location right next to parking lot. I usually get the meal (3 tacos and consome) and one or two extra tacos. Very filling. Staff are fast and friendly. Bring cash and don’t forget to tip.“
“If you are looking for good chicken over rice in New York, you make a drive to Jamaica, Queens and visit Numidia. Locals know they are better than Halal Guys, Adel’s and Shah’s (Homelawn & Hilside). Make sure you try the Cheseburger and Kofta. Great additional menu items compared to your usual run off the mill cart.“
“Decent halal food here with good portion sizes. The halal itself was older meat and bit more expensive than normal, but the pita bread was pretty well done. The Gyro was mainly lettuce too. Still a good spot for Halal though and there are many different options. The lamb could be better though, felt like it was warmed up in a microwave, but we did eat it at 3PM so ti could have just been some leftovers.“
“My kids, who are young, don't even like falafel. They each inhaled three (one complimentary at the truck, and two from the kabab platter) and it really is the best falafel I've ever had. I'm sad we didn't get to try the beef kabab but they were basically sold out of almost everything, so we had the chicken and it was AMAZING. I've passed by this truck multiple times when I come into Queens to visit my parents and never tried it and now I don't think I can ever go home without buying some to take with me.“
“It is very rare for me to give a business 5 starsTheir food is superb and very clean. It isn't even oily either, and the flavor is on pointThe prices are right and not too expensive and not too cheapThey meet the food cart expectations well, and the hygiene is also good with gloves and wipes being usedIt's all good and honest work. They have kept me fed throughout high school“
“We had just flown in and needed something before heading to a Colbert taping. We had no expectations, but absolutely loved the food. Only thing we didn't love was the sausage and only because it was seasoned in a way that wasn't for us. All of the other meats, sides and sauces were seasoned perfectly, tender, and delicious.“
“Still amazed how quickly the food came out and the fact that the owner was running from his 1st truck to a 2nd truck to serve customers is incredible. Food was simply 11/10, vegetarian friendly, super delicious, fresh and for the price you get quite a lot. One of the best street food spots in NYC.“
“Great guys on the truck and seriously solid reasonably priced food...been going to them for a year ordering 2 or 3 go tos...BUT tonight switched it up a bit and had their Birria "sandwich" basically a Mexican Torta...my oh my that torta was UNREAL good and for $10 a bargain...can't recommend it enoughParking: solid“
“One of the best halal carts in the area. Normally get the mixed over rice with pita bread and before I get there it’s already ready. No matter who’s working it’s always a great meal paired with great conversation with the person making my meal. Highly recommend if you’re ever in the area.“
“At Central Park and in need of a quick bite? head to Madison Avenue and E 62nd Street. The ideal spot to satisfy your hunger. suitable for modifying meal choices and accommodating all dietary requirements. served hot and fresh, and the food is so delicious that I am at a loss for words. Try it now, and you'll thank me later. 行こう“
“Damn. I should have gotten a picture but THAT’S HOW GOOD IT WAS. We got chicken tacos, an al pastor quesadilla and an asada quesadilla. Everything came with a bunch of guac, was freshly cooked, with good portions, and very (and I mean very) spicy salsa on the side. Al pastor was my fav, but that’s cause I’m a sucker for the savory/sweet. Get anything here and I’m sure it’ll be good.“
“Great (huge) sandwiches, great price, and the owner is a great guy.He had already closed up and turned the grill off when I came up to him and fired it back up to get me a banh mi. I didn’t ask him to and told him it was alright but he insisted.I furthermore didn’t have cash so he made it work with one of the other carts so i could get my sandwich.“
“Just dropped by for the first time (embarrassingly) after a coworker recommendation, one of those places I've walked by 100 times and somehow never stopped it. And now it's going to be a regular in the rotation!I got their grilled chicken set (#2) and it was delicious - the chicken itself was amazingly well marinated and flavorful, the rice cooked perfectly to join with it - and man their sweet/mildly-spicy thai sauce they give you to go with it is pure heaven. The soup they give is very mild but pleasant. Their serving system felt slightly chaotic for a newbie, but it worked perfectly well, the woman working had a perfect memory and nailed people in order.Highly recommend!“
“An insanely delicious sausage sandwich. Fresh bread and juicy and hot Italian sausage, topped off with peppers, BBQ sauce and ketchup.Definitely give these guys a chance for lunch if you're in the area; they're super kind and have perfected the classic after so many years in the business.“
“First time trying out delicious savory crepe Chinese style! A friendly and helpful gentleman helped me order what I want. Will be back for sure. We tried #1 classic and #6 with turkey ham and pork floss. Both were very tasty. FYI, no cc, cash, Zelle or Venmo.“
“New favorite taco spot The Pastor tacos were tasty and had a generous amount of filling First time trying a grilled onion. Did not expect it to be so yummy! They followed the specifications I gave on the first order of tacos Speedy and friendly delivery No notes 10/10“
“Recently I visited NY with my husband. Went to Jackson heights. Had momo from Amdo Kitchen. Momo was yummy and served with soups. Moreover the owner is very kind, perfect customer care. Feel like going to eat there every time whenever we visit there. Chocho la the owner is very kind. Hats off to you ???“
“I am so glad i stumbled upon this gem on social media. We will definitely be back. You can really tell when someone puts their heart into what they do and Chef Christina's one of those people. Great service! I suggest following the IG for updates @preppedforyou. Everything is fresh and made to order! We got the oxtail, jerk chicken and the festival. Can't wait to try the whole menu!“
“Some of the best Al pastor tacos I’ve had in nyc, with a good price. The serving of meat is overly generous, pipping hot & delicious. Sweet pineapple and fresh cilantro balance it out perfectly. Tacos are grilled in oil and super piping hot - almost impossible to pick up right away. Use a fork!“
“Someone should do a YouTube series blind tasting NYC halal carts; the “GOATs”, as the kids say, which includes Santa, all taste the same, and it’s a hot pile of meat. No one in their right mind would be able to tell the difference. It’s seasoned, portions are respectable, and menu is affordable. My combo gyro was $7.99, despite the menu stating $6.99. Not complaining, but Santa should probably update the sign to avoid any confusion.Friendly and quick service. You can find a very good cart like this anywhere in the city, and Santa Clause is one to check out if you’re by Union Square.“
“They are on 45th and 6th Ave on the weekdays too it seems (just got it today). I wasn't feeling their signature Option so I went with the grilled chicken set (#2), and it still is so tender and flavorful. It comes with a tamarind sauce that added to the flavor although I used it sparingly. Only 10 bucks for any set and cash only, but they have venmo and other options.“
“Just went there!!! The greeting was excellente with French accent and all... I had a ham and cheese croissant, an apple turnover and a Mocha Drip.. The pastries were nice and flaky, the mocha drip was AMAZING.My only critique was that the croissant was not hot which would've made it sooo much better but regardless it was tasty.I only captured the apple turnover as I devoured the croissant before my post.“
“We tried the puchka and jhal muri, loved the puchka - crunchy puris and the filling is delicious. I'll definitely be back for more, could have used more of the pani and can do without the egg on top. The best chaat I've eaten in the states for sure !“
“I love buying delicious Spanish food from this food truck. I love their tacos (bistec my favorite) but I see other people ordering meals which I plan to do in the future. Clean environment inside & outside from what I can see and friendly server.“
“I checked out Adel's Famous Halal Food to see what the buzz around the city was about, and it turned out to be the best decision of the day. The food cart was easy to spot with its vivid black and orange parasols and staff dressed in orange hoodies, all with the business logo. Thankfully, the line was relatively short, and it moved constantly, allowing me to place my order in just 20 minutes. As a first-time visitor, I asked about the offerings. The options included chicken, lamb, or both (combo) for meats, and yellow or spicy red for rice. The staff was patient, guiding me through the ordering process with ease. After picking up my food, I found a nearby table to dig in. I got chicken and lamb separately, served on a bed of spicy red rice and drizzled with white garlic sauce, topped with a splash of spicy sauce. The dishes also came with sliced pita bread and some veggies. From the very first bite, I experienced a burst of flavours from the halal meat, spicy rice, and garlic sauce—it was absolutely amazing. Towards the end of the meal, the spiciness of the rice made me pant; it left me curious about how the yellow rice would have compared. At the unbeatable value of just $9, my rating could not be higher. Adel's Famous Halal Food delivers a gourmet meal experience that’s accessible to anyone in New York City. I highly recommend this place and I am definitely coming back.“
“Visited this truck on a very cold day and had a long train ride home and evening was still very warm and fresh when I got to enjoy. I had the chicken tikka over yellow rice with white sauce and chimichurri and it was delicious. Flavors were fantastic and portion was great! A little spicy just FYI for anyone sensitive to spice but I loved it without adding additional hot sauce.“
“As someone who grew up in eating mexican food in San Diego, I approve of the quality from this truck. The employees are always friendly and the food is reasonably priced. I always get the carnitas burrito without lettuce and their red sauce reminds me of home.“
“I had the pleasure to come to Woodside and enjoy Tamales here… it was AMAZING! I’m not from NYC but I wanted to get out of Manhattan to discover more of the true NYC and a street food like Tamale Lady meets that goal. I had the spicy one and it actually kicks, and it was steaming hot too! Would come again for the $2 price they offer, absolutely fantastic.“
