“I recommend Kettlemans as the food is good and they have good variety. That said. The service is sub-par. My wife and I stop here regularly on Sunday Mornings about 7 am 2 or 3 times a month. Consistently nobody greets us even though there are many workers who make eye contact and just keep doing whatever they're doing. More often than not we have to call out to get attention after waiting several minutes at the front counter. Management doesn't seem to value customer service and simply expects people to keep coming back as if Kettlemans' history entitles them to customers. That is a surprising attitude in an otherwise excellent store.”

Recently, Sula asked that I try a slightly new version of the dish (apparently less fishy). Sula asked that I let her know if I liked it or not. While I thought the taste was a little different (maybe not as spicy or “fishy”), I still loved it and will be ordering it again.”

“Sushi Fresh took a wet, tired evening in the ByWard Market and quietly turned it into something almost luminous. Rain was still clinging to coats when the door closed behind and the room wrapped everything in a softer light. The staff moved like they actually cared whether the day ended well. Small questions, careful glances, water glasses topped up before they were empty. Nothing showy, just a calm intention that settled the table and slowed the clock a little.

Then the sushi arrived, all together on the most beautiful plate I have ever seen. A long wooden board, smooth and warm, carrying five specialty rolls laid out like a painter’s last careful strokes. Colour everywhere. Deep reds, pale greens, small sparks of orange, each piece holding its place as if it had rehearsed it. For a moment it felt wrong to touch anything. The first bite broke the spell only to build a new one. Rice with the right weight, fish that tasted clean and alive, sauces that whispered instead of shouted. Sharing those rolls in that quiet bubble of warmth while the rain kept falling outside felt strangely intimate. It was only dinner, yet walking out it felt like the kind of small, perfect scene the mind keeps for days when it needs proof that beauty still shows up without warning.”

This place is stealth. It looks like a little convenience store but packs a punch. Lots of meat and toppings on the sandwiches. Thick Italian buns and generous with the toppings.

I live in the east end but my offices are only a 10-minute walk from their location, so i was worried that the pandemic might force them to close but luckily, they are still the best hidden gem on Bank Street! Depending on my work schedule I go there once or twice a week because I crave their comfort food! I LOVE Golden Baguette!!”

My favorite was the selroti achar and chowmein with their chutney. It gave me a typical Nepali taste and it felt so good. The service was lovely. We had an amazing time at this Turkish restaurant Sultan Sulyman. The food was absolutely delicious—rich flavors, perfectly cooked meats, and fresh, authentic ingredients. The kebabs were tender and full of flavor, and the bread was warm and freshly baked.

The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Everything arrived quickly and beautifully presented.

If you’re looking for genuine Turkish cuisine with great service and a lovely ambiance, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended”

“My first time to Barrio with my daughter and two friends was a very fun time. We enjoyed the flavourful drinks and the shared appetizers- a salad and carpaccio ( thinly sliced vegetable dish). We each chose a main which we also shared. The salmon, chicken and braised beef were all delicious.
We talked ourselves into sharing the chocolate dessert and the three milk cake. A good decision.
Our waitress was friendly and accommodating. At the end I ordered a take out sandwich which she carefully packed each food item separately so nothing got soggy.
The Latino decor was refreshing and inviting. I hope to return soon.”

“Very cute little restaurant just off of the main street, the food was absolutely divine and the waitress was so so polite about everything and incredibly helpful in teaching us how we should eat the food we ordered and was quick to answer about ingredients in the fish sauce to prevent an allergic reaction with a bright smile the whole time, i would absolutely recommend to anyone new to Vietnamese food.
