“I always enjoy my visits to Astoria. They are a great spot for brunch, or a nice dinner. The atmosphere is great and the cocktails are always enjoyable. I especially like the chicken and waffles for brunch.”
“First time visitor on March 23, to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The restaurant was happily booked up when I tried to make a reservation, so I was only able to secure a table at 5:15pm. I left a little note asking them to keep us in mind if there was a cancellation for a later spot, and they contacted me by email, text, and phone when a later table became available for 6:15pm. Very responsive and friendly staff. Our time at Soif was marvellous. The staff were friendly and extremely professional. Service was relaxed yet very polished. Our server was knowledgeable about the wine and took great care to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. We had a flight of wine to start, followed by a beautiful bottle of white, and a flight of bubbles to end our evening. We shared a half cheese/half charcuterie platter that came with a mountain of crispy and delicious crostini, the latter being refilled without having to ask. Such a small but lovely touch. We also shared roasted Brussels sprouts, frites and aioli, a bison tartare, and grilled radicchio, that were all delicious. They surprised my friend with a little dessert wine and candle to acknowledge her birthday, which was so kind and thoughtful. I have not a single critique. The team here works like a well-oiled machine. No one seemed frantic or rushed. It was a lovely evening. I (we) will definitely be back. Santé!”

We had the Coxinha (Brazilian Chicken Bites) - pronounced Koh-Sheen-Yah, the Pão de queijo (Brazilian Cheese Bread), the Bossa Nova Smoothie (açaí, banana, and almond milk), and the "Authentic" Brazilian coffee (one americano and one cappuccino). Everything was awesome. Good prices as well. The Pão de queijo was so good, we bought three frozen take-away pouches to share the goodness at home with others. When I visit my daughter in Gatineau, it's not so easy. I find pizza here to be bland and mostly low quality ingredients at premium prices.This little place however, is different. The pizza is reasonably priced and quite better than any I've found so far in the area. “I find that the quality of the ingredients is good and the products are very good. The prices are a little expensive, of course, but the quality is there. However, I have one remark about tipping, I don't see the logic in leaving a tip for a person who puts your croissant in a bag and gives it to you, the tip is supposed to be for table service not for no matter what service, otherwise tomorrow we should tip the mechanic, doctor, etc. I find that the principle of tipping is simply not there and does not make sense in a bakery. Of course you have the option to ignore the tip and put in $0 but it's not easy when someone hands you the machine and stares at you with those eyes, it's an embarrassing moment for a service that doesn't deserve not a tip at the base.Apart from that, I recommend the bakery for the quality of these products ? ?”

“Popular spot by the looks of it, lots of people coming and going as we were there. It’s a walk-up location with parking beside. Enough parking for about 12 vehicles with one accessible spot. Order was quick and correct and staff were friendly. There’s plenty of benches around the parking area to enjoy your dessert.”

“First visit yesterday and it was quite filling. I ordered a large grillot and it has fed me for two meals. Haitian food is different since we dont see that too often in Gatineau. The spices can surprise you, and what we think is mild coleslaw is quite spicy! As long as you know that, all will be fine.I prefer the grillot and the cabri (pork and goat) dishes. Just imagine a BBQ with spices from the carribean. I would recommend a nice fruit or mango juice to accompany the meal, as it will help reduce the heat of the spices for our poor fragile Quebec tastebuds!”

But we were impressed by the attentive service and the delicious food. We ordered two Tom Yum soups with shrimp, and a pair of spring rolls, also shrimp-filled. Despite its smaller size, the Tom Yum had a rich taste and perfectly fresh ingredients, leaving no room for desire. The spring rolls were large, generously filled, and the peanut sauce was exceptionally tasty. Owner’s kids were also around, helping to serve the food, which made us feel like at home.”

I had just finished returning pizza I got from the Domino's close by there, as they were very disappointing, and I could not be happier with the choice of eating at Greber. They have a bunch of beautiful art pieces of space and galaxies which you can purchase. “There is no à la carte menu when eating on site, only “all you can eat” service. You write down the choices of all the guests on a piece of paper and the dishes are brought to you gradually, as they are prepared. The food is totally delicious, and served piping hot. The only downsides: the food is served in no specific order. We received our proteins, sushi, followed by starters and rice at the end. The service staff does not know the menu very well. But they seemed new to their jobs. Otherwise, it is an address that is worth the detour. We will return!”

“Fried pickles were amazing! Unfortunately the poutine was a no for me. Has cinnamon in the gravy, which could be nice but it was way too much. I kept expecting a poutine gravy when going to bite, but just tasted cinnamon. I saw they have a sweet potato poutine that I imagine would taste great with this gravy, but ultimately it's just not for me.I'll probably just stick to the apps/sides and pizza for next time, because those are always great!”

“Their new policy of paying before you sit to eat is in effect. That said, every time they hand you the debit machine, it asks how much you want to tip. Very aggravating when you're handed it after every drink you order throughout your meal. If you want a tip, provide excellent service. Don't expect a tip BEFORE any service has been provided. Personally, I tip based on the level of service I receive throughout my visit: am I greeted politely; am I made to feel valued; does my server introduce themselves so getting their attention (if they don't notice me looking around for them), is easier...None of these things happened, so I tipped accordingly AFTER the experience.”

“Came in to grab breakfast with my wife and was welcomed to a very clean and organized staff running the place like it was their own. I have had some very bad experiences at this McDonald’s; but not today! The staff here have this place clean, organized and made me feel welcome. A nice change from the get in and get out service you see today. The manager on staff severed us with a smile, something you don’t see much of these days but desperately need to see come back. “We were at The British for a birthday party and stayed the night in one of the hotel rooms. The staff were very kind and friendly, and the food at the party was very good! The poutine bar was definitely a highlight! The hotel room was very nice, and modern and the bed was very comfortable!”
