“What an incredible place. If you've been to Unionville, you'll know that the area has many cute and aesthetic restaurants/cafe's but this one is truly a gem. The restaurant has a very cozy but fancy vibe, dimly lit but there's still enough light to see all of the amazing food served here. The staff were super friendly, greeting every customer, both coming in and leaving. The food was definitely super good and worth the price (which, on that note, wasn't too expensive). We ordered skewers, scallops and a beef noodle soup. The skewers were kind of dry on their own, a dipping sauce definitely would have improved them a lot, and the scallops were very fresh, but I'm not a huge scallop fan so I didn't get to enjoy it fully (but my boyfriend said the texture was really good and chewy, and the seasoning really enhanced the flavour). The beef noodle soup was really flavourful and the beef itself wasn't too tough to chew. Honestly I will be going back soon, there are still so many things I want to try and I truly enjoyed the ambience.“

I'll list the food with ranking from best to good.Spicy stir fried gold coin egg with perilla has a thick and savoury sauce. Hardboiled eggs are cut into coins and deep fried, then tossed in a mince pork, black bean paste and chilli sauce. Perilla and carrots added the sweetness that brings the whole dish together. This is an unbelievable way to eat eggs. Must try!Stir fried pork slices with green pepper is a classic chinese dish that has many variations. I can't comment on the authenticity, but I certainly found it incredibly well made. The pork slices are cooked to the right texture and green chillies are fresh. The sauce collected the smoky flavour from the hot wok as it was fried. Incredible dish to eat with rice.Hunan boiled fish fillet in hot chilli oil used freshly sliced black fish instead of frozen basa as seen in most restaurants. This makes the fish neither flakey nor watery, but tender and oozing with flavour instead. The chilli oil fully bloomed the numbing peppercorn and dried red chillies that excites your pallette as the fish lands on your tongue. Konjak jelly noodles and cucumbers are great choices to add to the dish, providing differences in texture.There are spicy chicken offal dishes and skewers that I really wanted to try next. When I'm in the area again, I'll come back for more.“

“I ordered salad and a bottle of alcohol for delivery. After waiting for almost an hour (which was fine), Skip the Dishes arrived and there was no bottle, just a salad. The driver nor I was made aware until I check the bag. The driver then called Gabby's to inquire why he was not notified he was delivering a partial order, he was dismissed and told to give me the phone. The young lady (Gabby's employee) then proceeded to convey the bottle was not available and that I'd have to attempt a refund through Skip the Dishes, not Gabby's. Their meat has flavour and is properly spiced and an overall great experience. The kids didn't complain which was great. Service was better than most restaurants and always meant to please. Would I come back again? For a special occasion definitely yes!Parking: Parking can get really full and you may need to park in the back of the building.Kid-friendliness: This is a family restaurant. “We only had beer so I can only do review for beer for now. We went for happy hour on both days. After 8pm until closing time. The service was a little slow I find, but since we didn't order food and just wanted to chat it was okay. I was surprised didn't see too many people in the restaurant on Sunday around 8pm. They used to have fried chicken thigh or leg and not just wings, I wish they can get that back. I do suggest the Alfredo pasta with either chicken or shrimp that's what I liked to order before.“

“I first came to this place more than 15 years ago and it was amazing..a hidden gem.., then it changed owners and they tried to make it more "upscale" but it was just more expensive and quality of the food dropped..it was still "ok" for a change once in a while.. . I have not visited Belle for years now as I moved out of Toronto and then the pandemic and yesterday while in Toronto we decided to order take out .....very very disappointed The prices don't match the quality of the food and when we picked up we just saw a bunch of teens playing videogames not really customer oriented. We had to wait longer for the order and the food was cold. The Lula kebab was burnt, the home fries (that was the signature master piece) were dried up, the chicken was tasteless... Poor quality, poor customer service and expensive. Will not come back or recommend again“

“We arrived on time for 12:15pm res and still had to wait about like 10-15 min outside on the deck (gorgeous view btw, with the water mill and pond). But it was funny to see them turning ppl away constantly if they were just coming as walk-ins.The hostess seated us and a server came over to let us know the daily food and drink specials.The brunch tower seemed very intriguing to me but it sounded like A LOT of food and my girlfriend (even though hangry at that point) knew she wasn't gonna be able to help me tackle even half the tower haha. So we settled on duck confit pancakes and huevos rancheros.Ok, so the food comes out and I'm pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes. The plates were quite hefty and you get a good amount of food (which I appreciate cuz I've got a big appetite). The presentation looked fantastic. Looked like michelin star plating.The duck had crispy skin, succulent meat (they actually give you a whole duck leg whereas I've been to restos that literally give you the drumstick and that's it). The pancakes were moist and fluffy.The rancheros were packed with goodies. I liked the fact that they actually cooked the tater tots well (crispy on the outside and tender on the inside). A lot of places screw up the potatoes. It also comes with a lot of egg and pulled pork which we really appreciated.To top it all off, we had some fresh mango peach juice to wash it all down. Yum!It's cracking up into expensive territory for brunch for sure (but I've seen way more egregious pricing downtown). I still rate it a 5 star experience. Great food, great presentation, great service and still borderline ok on the prices. Probably the best brunch spot in the markham area if you ask me. It tops Alchemy Coffee brunch for me (which is literally in the same neighbourhood).I know they host weddings and special events too and I'm kinda curious. I might inquire about it sometime.“

“This pub is a gem and full of life for those who want a place to get feel good vibes and a fun atmosphere! I went on a friday night and they had a live dj playing all sorts of music from country to latin to some soft rock, but what made it even more enjoyable was the patrons who got up and danced the night away. The food was actually amazing and the staff was friendly. I would have given a full 5 stars, but the volume of the dj music was a bit too loud for my liking, which made it difficult to talk over. We started with an order of Calamari, dusted and deep fried, served with a ginger garlic sauce and a Greek feta sauce. Good start! For my main course, I chose the Rib Steak with Garlic Mashed Potato. It also included mushrooms and a vegetable medley. This steak was delicious, thick, juicy, and tender! My cousins had the Lobster and Crab Oscar combo, Baseball Top Sirloin, and Filet Mignon. It was all good! Everything was perfectly cooked, and delicious! To finish, we shared a Billy Miner Pie, courtesy of The Keg, for my birthday. Thank you for another great meal!“

More recently, one of MY closest friends held his wedding reception just down the road (at Casa Deluz Banquet Hall) and instead of a dance floor at the end of the night, he booked one of the party rooms here for the afterparty.From the outside, this plaza looks like your typical, sketchy scarborough plaza but the first time I walked into this place I was blown away at how nice the interior was. The lighting is extremely cool and the decor is very fancy.Service is prompt and friendly. If you need a battery change for your mic(s) or ring the service bell, you get a person almost instantly in your room.The washroom is clean enough haha. I've been to some KTV places with REALLY dank washrooms. This one is clean and smells relatively fresh. Also, someone in another review mentioned that there was a lingering cigarette smell. I've been here a bunch of times and there's almost no cigarette smell. Visitors are pretty polite here. Most ppl that want to smoke, I see them go outside and having a smoke outside before coming back into the lounge.I will say, they do use a popular touch screen system for choosing songs. I would totally bump this review up to a 5 star rating if they kept the song list updated (Bar+ on Yonge St downtown has the most constantly updated song list I've ever experienced). There were a couple new songs that I tried to find but to no avail.I think this is the best karaoke place uptown in the GTA at the moment if I'm being honest! They are very honest w/ their minimum room charge pricing and they also have a killer happy hour special deal throughout the week if you're not booking a room on a weekend. It will continue to be my go-to place for karaoke as long as they don't increase prices.“

Living in Japan I've kind of expected smaller portions for cheaper prices, and then growing up in Toronto, I've learned that though small portions remain the same, the prices can jump up to catch you off-guard. This place had really good portions that were fair for what they charged. I think the egg omelette was good, the pork they used inside was a bit on the fatty side but mixed with the bean sprouts, was quite good. The only thing was it lacked a little flavour, which wasn't a huge deal because the other dishes made up for it. I don't eat intestines so I had the vegetables and glass noodles. The dish itself was nice and flavourful and from what I could tell they don't skimp on the ingredients. There were definitely a lot of intestines in the dish and my friends were very happy. The chicken and cheese we actually ended up ordering two because it was just so good! The cheese pull was unreal, I pulled so high that I hit my hand on the lamp above us at the table. It was definitely the most flavoured dish of the three and the chicken was so tender. They also gave us a side of peppered radish. I have to say that these definitely had a kick to them but they were quite good that we asked for more three times. Overall, a really good place to enjoy some food with friends and also a couple of drinks to help unwind your day or week.“

“We started going to this restaurant since covid-19. Honestly there were a lot of choices in Markham, and Ikon was not the only sushi restaurant we ordered our food. But things have changed because we can hardly find better restaurant in Markham. There are restaurants that focus on lots of menu choices, some name their food with unheard titles, and some raise their prices to make you feel theirs are imaginative "premium". But Ikon comes in simple packages. They give you the max quality of food in simple menu and shockingly reasonable price. The chefs and the owner (tall woman) always dress in clean and simple outfits, and then greet you with a warming tone as if you were a good friend. As a bonus, take-out orders come with a Japanese soft clothes to carry your food. The whole package is simple and beautiful. Thr portion is bigger than many places. Sadly not many restaurants are like this. Disclaimer: I don't own any restaurant. I do not know any of the staff members and the owners. Japanese food is our family's preferred cuisine.“

Once I was acknowledged, the bartender said the food is being packaged up and will be out shortly. So the assumption was that as a woman of colour, I must be picking up food for delivery. I ordered my drink. A second staff member came to me to ask again about picking up food. Again, the assumption being that I could not possibly be at the bar for no other reason, other than picking up a food delivery .What an absolutely awful experience.
