“Recap from our 5 year anniversary at Alo in Toronto! This place is worth every penny. From fantastic food and amazing service, to great drink pairings, chill vibes and a professional staff that don’t take themselves too seriously. Would highly recommend to anyone who has a passion for the art of cooking or just appreciates food, hospitality and cocktails.“
“This place is simply one of a kind…I have not seen this level of creativity, variety and taste in the Indian food anywhere else in the area. The food is out of the world and both our servers Sushant and Deedar were so so hospitable…they can definitely work a little more on the ambience but i will visit again for the food and the service!“
“We went as a group of 4, and ordered everything on the menu. I really appreciate their use of different textures. There’s a lot of depth in their flavor pairing as well. Overall the dishes can be a bit too sweet for my liking. The sweetness is subtle at first, i only started realizing that later on as more dishes are served and i found myself thinking oh this is getting a bit heavy. Still really enjoyed my experience at lake Inez! It’s quickly becoming one of mg favourite spots in the city.“
“I keep coming back to this place. They never fail to impress me, my friends and family. My experience of food is based on how it looks, how it smells and how it tastes. Secondly I look forward to a warm hospitality from the server, and lastly, it’s ambiance and location. I say, they exceeded my expectation on all level. It’s just perfect for me.“
“Excellent italian food with absolutely generous portions.I love appetizers and usually keep my meal centered on the first part of the menu...I love the variety of things to try and they arrive at the table quickly....with that said, most appetizers are, logically, smaller portions...but not at vagabondo......when our appetizers arrived, I honestly thought we were sitting at my mom's table and she was serving the family the meals of the evening....The appetizer portion of the meatball dish was 3 tennis ball sized meatballs lathered with a tangy delicious tomatoes based sauce....the fried calamari was just a little larger than usual...but the eggplant Parmigian was literally group size...along with a basket of perfectly crusty baguette my family of five were stuffed...we could ended the meal perfectly happy and content....but 4 of us had already ordered entres...my son's spaghetti bolognaise was excellent and supersozed....as were the rest of the pasta dishes. Crazy. Good.Have already told friend and wee will definitely return.About $300 CAN for 5 people, including tip and including appetizers, entres, ice tea, glass of wine and a beer. Extra basket of bread also (first is generous and complementary)Small quibble ... they seated us at the back where it was a little dark on a nice sunny afternoon in Toronto. I understand why...their larger group tables are at the back. Not a big deal, we could have said something and I'm sure they would have accommodated us ....the staff were all friendly, prompt and attentive“
“Well let me tell you something brotherMy brother Javier brother, he's a brother brotherAnd brother if I brother, were to make a list brother of all the brothers out there brother, Javier brother he's a real brother brother. Whenever a brother, like me brother, askes brother, what chu gonna do brother, brother Javier brother he comes out and saysSome say all brothers are created equalBut you look at me and you look at your brother Javier brother, and you can see that statement is NOT trueSee normally when you a brother you got a 50/50 chance of being a brother, but Javier brother is a brother freak and not normal. So you got a 25% chance at best at being a brother, but Javier has a 75% chanceSo you take that 75% chance of being a brotherAnd add in the 50% chance of brother Javier being your brother brother, and you got a 125% chance of Javier being a brother brotherYou seeThe numbers don't lieAnd the say Javier is a brother brotherBROTHER!“
“I recently attended an event at the Toronto Event Centre, and it was a great experience. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The venue itself is really beautiful, with modern and stylish decor that creates a vibrant atmosphere and makes one really get involved with ongoing activities. The event I attended was well organized, everything was evenly coordinated. I would like to attend more such events at this venue.“
“Great selection of beer knowledgeable staff. Great food. Sometimes too busy so go to sauce for a drink while on the wait list find out what band is playing so you can go back after dinner!! Burger is great one of the best in the city. Mozzarella sticks are unique.“
“I really liked the institution, it was a pleasant discovery for me (I found the institution based on recommendations in tiktok)! My friends and I came here for lunch, everything we ordered was very tasty, plus the prices are not high and here instead of a waiter, a cute robot delivers the food :)I recommend this establishment 100%, you will like it!“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sarang Kitchen, and I must say, it was a truly refreshing experience. What sets this establishment apart is not just its delicious cuisine, but its commitment to inclusivity and understanding of neurodiversity. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warmth and empathy. They have created an environment where everyone feels valued and respected, regardless of their neurological differences. Great job and we will definitely be coming back.“
“Wow! Highly recommend!! Coffee is absolutely delicious. No bitterness and deep rich flavour. The folks working there were super friendly and respectful. They don’t have decaf but offered a low caffeine option. I felt very welcomed and will be back for sure.“
“I ordered salad and a bottle of alcohol for delivery. After waiting for almost an hour (which was fine), Skip the Dishes arrived and there was no bottle, just a salad. The driver nor I was made aware until I check the bag. The driver then called Gabby's to inquire why he was not notified he was delivering a partial order, he was dismissed and told to give me the phone. The young lady (Gabby's employee) then proceeded to convey the bottle was not available and that I'd have to attempt a refund through Skip the Dishes, not Gabby's. She was quite dismissive and closed with a very sarcastic "have a nice evening" and hung up.Needless to say, Gabby's on Eglinton is off-limits to me and my family.Update:David, the owner, arrived at my doorstep to personally deliver my order.I'm appreciative of this, he has renewed my faith in humanity (and Gabby's). Thank you David!!“
“Probably the best burger we’ve ever had! My son (8years old) devoured his giant burger and refused to take any home. We stayed until he was done. Delicioussssss! The service was also great and the jazz playing was amazing. We live across town but will make the trip for treasure like this. No question.“
“Wish I had been going here since we moved east. Thoughtful, eclectic decor. Fantastic drinks and small plates. Attentive and engaging service. This is where you bring the date you want to impress whether it's your first or hundredth. Also has the local vibe -- you could be happy here any night of the week.“
“Everyone that works there is an absolute gem, and it’s always such a delight to walk into such a fun and welcoming environment! Also the food there is great! I’ve had almost everything on the menu and haven’t found one thing that I didn’t like! I would highly recommend Bar Poet, for a great date spot, place to hang out with your friends, or somewhere warm and inviting to come for a solo drink, or bit to eat!“
“We highly recommended! we so impressed by the over the top Mixologists, Riley and Joe welcoming us with their great entertainment with the amazing cocktails, personality, enthusiasm, food service and atmosphere.Thank you so much to Riley, Joe, Chris and Keelin. for this 2 night in your bar. In November 25, 2023. it was an an absolute pleasure to be there from the beginning until the end. for the highest level of hospitality andprofessionalism that your team provided us, to me and my wife. Keeling (Host)was very polite; she was always with a kind smile. And she also provided us with a seat at the Library Bar. We will definetly coming back for them in our next journey at the Fairmont!“
“Waitress knew the menu inside out and assisted in deciding on which drinks wanted.Poutine was very good and filling. Food was delivered in a treasure chest with liquid nitrogen pouring out for $7.There was a nice atmosphere and all of the food and drinks were reasonably priced. Amazing experience solo dining“
“Amazing staff.Great food and drink menus. The thing that really makes this place special is the hospitality they have for anyone that walks through the door. The thoughtfulness, skill and love that chef steve puts behind the dishes are felt through each bite.“
“Wow, I had family visiting from Sudbury. My younger brother and I had a blast. Brought back old memories of the arcade we hung out at. The staff was always ready to help out. The food was awesome. I'm looking forward to going again with any other visitors staying at my place.Be sure NOT to move from the Queen Street West location.Kid-friendliness: Great place to bring a family to let them experience the "throw back" experience.“
“Amazing food and objectively, they're consistent with the quality. I've visited more than 5 times already to attest to it. I also got the chance to know the owners and they're one of the most generous and nice people to meet. I recommend getting the Chicken Adobo.I've just posted photos that I have from the different times I've visited.Vegetarian options: There are options and they are friendly and courteous to adjust the meal to your liking.Parking: Parking space is beside the establishment.Kid-friendliness: It's kid friendly and they have options that kids will like.“
“Loved this place.. great food and drinks and a good service as well. We Roast Kimchi Chop Cheese Biggie sandwich, Tempura Salt Cod and the Eggplant Kanpungi. All tasted great along with some Paloma cocktails (mezcal and grapefruit).Vegetarian options: Yes“
“Our server was excellent even though the restaurant was under staffed due to illness. Food came out quick and hot. Both my meal and my girlfriend’s meal were ready at the same time. We didn’t feel any pressure to order or eat & go. Very chill atmosphere. I would recommend Bite to anyone staying in the area.“
“Visiting Toronto this week and had a rough day, decided to close it with some late sushi. They sent two miso soups on the house with a kind message, and the food was incredibly good. Thank you kind people at ju sushi for unknowingly making our day <3“
“A group of 5 shared everything on the menu. All items on the main menu were delicious but the deserts were not good at all. The cocktails were made perfectly. Overall go for the main menu and the cocktails and you won't be disappointed. The ambiance was beautiful and service top notch.“
“Have been coming here almost daily for coffee since moving into the neighborhood five years ago. The staff are like family and go out of their way to treat my children with kindness and enthusiasm. Coffee is Detour and there is no charge for alternative milks. I miss when they had a lunch/dinner menu! But the snacks and pastries they have now are really good also. My favourite back patio in the city.“
“We got the shrimp bites, wedge salad, octopus al olivo, and corn fritters. The shrimp bites were awful and a really bad way to start off our meal. I was actually getting nervous that the rest of our dishes were going to be the same calibre. The shrimp was overcooked and under seasoned. The vermicelli noodles added zero flavour and unnecessary crunch given the shrimp is already breaded. It was just a bad dish and they should honestly take it off the menu. The rest of the food however is a 5/5. We got the wedge salad next which was dressed perfectly and had great crunch. The octopus al olivo was perfect. The octopus was thinly cut yet still perfectly cooked. The sauce was so good that we asked for extra crostinis so we could finish it. The corn fritters had a lovely texture, slight crunch but dense inside and pairs nicely with the slightly sour yogurt and sweet chutney.I would definitely come again. I would’ve also given them a 5 if it weren’t for the shrimp bites. I would recommend to anyone to give this place a try!“
“I really enjoyed going to karaoke a couple weeks back with friends. The intimate atmosphere of the private rooms was great. At the karaoke nights that I’m used to, you barely get to sing because so many random people sign up to sing songs. My friends and I each got to sing as much as we wanted in the 2 hour time slot that we were given. I also enjoyed the menu options. There were plenty of different drinks and shots that were offered that I haven’t seen on typical bar menus.“
“I had a great meal at Ruby Soho! The food was good, nothing great, service was phenomenal, and the atmosphere made ruby great. Good music and cool interior made a great atmosphere to have a meal. I ordered the wagu beef burger and my only complaint is that it did not have lettuce and onions, other than that it was a delicious burger. Overall, I would recommend eating here!“
“I don't think I've ever struggled this hard to decide on what cocktail to try. They all sound incredible and the two I tried definitely were. Also, I think that may have been the best burger I've had in months!? Damn, what a great experience. Can't recommend enough. ?“
“Mugshot has been a regular visit for us for close to 10 years. Always friendly. Accommodating to kids. The food is excellent. We are glad it’s closed to home. Plus the actual mugshots are always entertaining. On our latest visit I had the cowboy burger, my wife had the perrogies and pulled pork and our son had popcorn chicken. I like the small touches like the old style mugs for pop. Good place to sit and watch hockey as well. Oh and based on previous visits they do a great job on sweet potato fries. Just the right texture.“
“We spent the morning doing touristy things and decided the Sportsnet Grill would be a nice place to stop. We were pleasantly surprised with the seating overlooking the renovations to the stadium (very cool to watch while you eat) and the food was excellent for a fair price. Definitely recommend!Kid-friendliness: Our 5 year old was totally enamored with the view overlooking the stadium. Kids menu has a number of options and staff are friendly to the littles.“
“This place is truly a gem! First of all, the food is AMAZING. Home cooked and delicious. Had wings, crab rangoon, and shrimp wontons tonight and they were the best food I've had in a long time. The owners are incredibly sweet and attentive, the ultimate bar parents. Lastly, this place really has a sense of community where everyone belongs. Great place to listen to live music on a Saturday night. Will definitely be coming here more regularly!“
“I cannot say enough nice things about the customer service provided by Anita and Janet! I ordered a Wood Sign Crafting Kit and a Virtual Paint Kit over the long weekend. Janet was very helpful in helping me decide which selections to make. I accidentally received the wrong kit and Anita was very quick to respond and have the correct kit sent over. I truly appreciate her prompt response and dedication make our paint night experience amazing. Huge THANK YOU to the Paint Cabin team!!“
“Food was fantastic! The most flavourful chicken enchilada I've had to date! Drinks were delicious and we had the churros and tres leche cake.... both were ?Seating is a bit crowded but you will enjoy having a meal here! Will be back again!“
“This is a hot spot to dine. If you like spicy foods you need to try this place out. The decor was modern and chic, lighting was dim and you get the bar like feeling the moment you walk in, with a romantic and intimate feeling. Many young professionals come here to dine and relax with their friends and coworkers. Not quite kid friendly in terms of food options, but if your kids can handle spices, definitely bring them here to try. The service was good, it was busy and packed when I came here, so the server had a lot on their hands. Appetizers came first, then main courses were served in a paced manner. If you enjoy curry on the sweeter side with a hit of hotness, the beef massaman curry was really nice. This dish is served with a bowl of jasmine rice. The banana leaf fish was served with sticky rice on the side, this bundle of fish was salty, and cramped together with clear vermicelli noodles, definitely have to eat together in 1 bite with the sticky rice to cut down on the salt. It also had spiciness to it. The tapioca dumplings reminded me of the taste of fresh rolls at a Vietnamese restaurant, they were very good. You eat them with lettuce, cilantro, mint and peanuts. The satay skewers were definitely a good hit, well rounded flavours with each bite. Green papaya fritters had such a nice crunch to them. They paired well with the dipping sauce that was sweet and salty. Beef jerky was a bit chewy, it came with a sauce. This one was a mild spicy. Drunken noodles, choice of chicken or shrimp. This dish had flavour, medium spicy and salty as well. The noodles were cut in thick pieces (hand cut noodles), different for every bite. Banana fritters were crunchy and slightly sweet, but not too sweet, it came with a side of pandan dipping sauce with added a nice kick of flavour that pairs well with banana. Mango sticky rice with coconut, I'm not a big fan of this one because after dinner and eating more sticky rice seemed like a meal on its own. Although the mangos were really good in this dessert, so fresh and sweet. Ice cream! It is homemade with interesting bits of fruit on the bottom. I enjoyed this one, different than any ice cream I have tried.“
“I might be biased because I used to work for the company. With that said, it's a very detailed room that's reminiscent of an old street car. I've only enjoyed cocktails ? there, so I can't say much about the food. But it's the same style as 416 snack bar, so it should be awesome ?.“
“Really great experience here. The food was good. Very very good. Simple yet elegant and sophisticated in both presentation and taste. Atmosphere unpretentious and very comfortable and the service was perfect. I would say i am frequently dissatisfied by resteraunt quality, with a feeling of just meh, but this spot was just fantastic. Will be back soon.“
“The cocktails here are incredible. I’ve been coming off and on for years and have always been blown away by the exceptional balance and depth of layered flavours. Before covid, I had a drink here called Don’t Worry Be Happy and I never forgot it. Once of the most beautiful cocktails I’ve ever had. Don’t sleep on this unassuming place! Drinks pictured are Jingle Juice and Chin Chin Mon Chérie“
“We had the friendliest server, Rosie, who had amazing recommendations. The food was phenomenal. The four of us shared the chips, guac, and salsa, the street corn, and the chicken & habanero appy. We had the pork tacos, the barbacoa tacos, and the carne asada tacos. The barbacoa, in my opinion, was the best! We topped off our meal with the salted caramel brownie & churros. Omg. Omg. Omg. That brownie was unreal. Although the exterior of the building seems a bit….well, you know…. But holy smokes. The food. The service. The whole vibe. Incredible. The fact that the ENTIRE FOOD MENU is gluten free (the only thing with gluten is the beer, and they have specific glasses to serve them in so no cross-contamination occurs) I’m so impressed. We’re so so so grateful to have such a delectable place to eat and not have to pray we find the “GF” sign beside the dish, as one of us is celiac. (Cross-posting my review on multiple platforms because everyone needs to try this restaurant!)“
“The smell hits you as you walk in. It's like a teenager's bedroom.Decades of sweaty music fans have left their olfactory tattoo.Perfect conditions for beer and a band! We watched, 'The Gruesomes'. This cult band, formed in the eighties, drew a mostly aged crowd,us included. The sound and atmosphere are great. Plenty of bar staff, quick service. Toilets are downstairs. They are graffitied and grubby but five beers in, I didn't care. The checkered floor is iconic as described in the Tragically Hip song, 'Bobcageon'. A must visit if you're in Toronto.“
“Just ordered these on UberEats, they were possibly the best wings I’ve ever had. They were packaged perfectly, still crispy and delicious. We got 5 different flavours, all spectacular. I don’t usually like fried pickles, but I couldn’t stop eating them. Fries were meh. We’re definitely coming by if they serve beer and hockey.“
“My fiancee and I had great end to our date night by heading here for drinks. Really cool vibe and beautifully decorated bar. Staff super nice & chill. Tasty cocktails and snacks (we had empanadas & chips). Have recommended Oldtown Bodega to our friends and we'll definitely be going back in the near future.“
“Friendly, homely comfort food. Good vibes and affordable. The place itself has a fusion diner and Speakeasy look with a vue on the kitchen. We recommend if you're just passing by or from the neighborhood. The club sandwich had white or brown option, fries fantastic, crunchy and tasty. Thank you! It was so good the photo came after.“
“Shout out to server bobby, he made the whole experience spectacular. Food was good with many many many options. Same for drinks from shots to cocktails. The espresso martini was pretty meh but it was within expectations still. The only server was booby - who was on the bar, at the front and serving tables. Chaotic but he managed to convey personality to everyone he served. Overall a good time and would come again 7/10“
“I met friends here for drinks and food and was shocked and delighted to arrive and see the sandwich board out front advertising pints of indie Ale House Instigator IPA on special for $6. All day long.In my experience of reading sandwich boards in Toronto, fancy bars and dive bars alike are pretty stingy with their happy hours, usually offering a deal on one of their most boring, flavorless beers.I don't know if this IPA promo is a one-off for the John or not, but kudos to them for satisfying our tastebuds and stretching our beer dollar on this visit. We won't forget. To no one's surprise, we had 3 beers each. We also ordered a lot of food. I had the John burger ($17), which was really good. The patty was simple and meaty, good toppings and a bun that fit the burger and didn't overwhelm it. Fries were decent and I appreciated that they came out hot. Others ordered wings and sausage on a bun and dill fries. Everyone was happy. The service was super relaxed and friendly. Patrons seemed jovial and a few were pretty wasted, which added to the lively atmosphere. A fun night had by all.“
“I booked the back room at Her Father's Cider Bar for my birthday celebration and everything was absolutely amazing. The food, drink selection, ambiance, hospitality and overall experience- everything exceeded my expectations!I worked closely with their manager Josh to coordinate the timing, capacity, budget, food and dietary restrictions for my group. He was extremely flexible to work with and ensured that everyone in my group had a meal that they could eat (we had a couple vegetarians/vegans). Even though we only corresponded through email, he was extremely quick with getting back to me and answering all our my questions - no matter how big or small they were. Having him as a contact made me extremely comfortable and less stressed with the planning since he clearly knows his stuff when it comes to special events and planning! The server who helped take care of my group was extremely attentive while also easygoing and flexible. She was patient despite our group being so large and split into two, and I greatly appreciated her attention to detail when it came to catering to my vegan guests and latecomers.I had the chicken & waffles and it was the perfect size. Their apple butter and apple ketchup are both amazing and accompanied the food perfectly. I would love to come back to try other brunch items as everyone else's food looked really good as well! I also can't wait to visit again to try their dinner menu and I know for sure that this is going to be a lovely date night location going forward!Thank you everyone at Her Father's for your amazing hospitality and service!Vegetarian options: Shakshuka, french toast and modified eggs Benedict. Vegans got a Tempah quesadilla.Dietary restrictions: Vegans were accommodated for!“
“Pizza wine disco is the place to be! I went with a friend for a night out and we had the best night. The food is nothing short of exceptional—with appetizers crafted to perfection—highly recommend the steak tartare. The service is impeccable, with attentive staff ensuring every need is met promptly. As the night progresses, the ambiance transforms into a lively discotheque, where great music and high energy have people dancing into the early hours. My friend and I were impressed by the seamless blend of delicious food, impeccable service, and atmosphere, making our experience at Pizza Wine Disco truly unforgettable.“
“We had our staff party here and it was a blast! Henry made the booking process seamless and took the time to answer all of our questions. Only down side is that the entrance is a bit hard to find. Will definitely be returning without the kids :)“
“the service here is phenomenal! came in through the week after a tough few days and johnny was the highlight of my week. he made sure my friend and i were comfortable when i mentioned some people at the bar were making us uncomfortable, really got to know us and gave great advice. i’ll 100% be back and i hope i get to see johnny again!“
“You can ALWAYS count on Scaramouche —incredible service, outstanding food, lovely atmosphere. It's not surprising that it's full later in the evening on Good Friday, but somehow not hectic—rather serene. Servers take their time but seem to be at the table just when required for next steps. A really special experience.“
