“I quite like this sushi takeaway shop. I'm not saying its quality is out of the world, but the sushi and sashimi are pretty good compared to those Japanese/Korean restaurants (I've had really disappointing experience). Salmon Lover: salmon sashimi, salmon nigiri and spicy salmon roll. Salmon was so fatty and fresh, and super thick!!Green Dragon Roll: Dynamic roll with avo on top. I'd say the shrimp tempura was thinly battered. It's creamy and slightly crunchy. I quite like it!Overall I'm not disappointed at all. I'm impressed that it's of good quality. I definitely want to try their sushi party tray.“
“I believe 味千 Ramen was among the first to introduce authentic Japanese ramen to Toronto, paving the way for many others in the scene today. While numerous options have emerged since then, it's still worth paying a visit to the original founder from time to time.“
“Ordered a 40 piece sushi sashimi tray for 2 people. It has a pretty good portion. Even with my big appetite, we felt satiated after finishing the platter. The fish has a thick cut, the way I like it. Unlike other restaurants where the cuts are so thin that you can see light coming through the meat. It is a take out only establishment, so I didn't bother rating the atmosphere. I'll most likely come back again.“
“Hibiki sashimi is our favorite post-Unionville trail walk treat to ourselves. They honestly serve the best sashimi cuts in GTA. We always end up disappointed when we get sashimi from a different place since we've been spoiled by Hibiki's quality. Toro toro maki and black cod misozuke are other dishes that we've order in the past and really enjoyed!“
“The atmosphere was calm and chill . But the main part was the food . it was amazing we tried the salmon avado sushi pizza I recommend you to try it .with dessert its going the best food ever and also the service was amazingthe food Is from heaven ?? ?“
“Lovely little restaurant on Laird, near McRae. Fulsome sushi menu but also some nice bento selections. Very tasty, satisfying, and at a great price. Pork katsu, chicken teriyaki, and tempura selections were delicious. Give yourself a treat and try Kintako!“
“My first time going here and what a treat. This boutique sushi spot popped up top rated and it’s no surprise why. I found out they’ve been here almost 25 years at the same location. The most humble couple are the original owners and were so kind and pleasant to speak with. Fresh food, warm vibes, and amazing service will have me back here again!“
“The place is so different than the last day I came here. There’s less Izakaya and more like sushi bar menu. Service is good, the server is kind and explain in details about the food. The oyster is delicious, but I do miss the more Izakaya-kind of food.“
“It's really so delicious ㅠㅠㅠ I think I'll come here often because the portions are plentiful and delicious. The interior is pretty and the atmosphere is nice, so I think it would be a good place for a date. I love you ㅛㅛㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ?????“
“What can i say, a magical place with incredible staff. Who will always be there for you in a heartbeat. Not to mention mouth watering food that touches both your heart and has the stomach saying thanks. All and all its a gem which you must come and try.“
“A lunch experience to remember! My wife and I went to Sushi Gin to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful experience. It was difficult to find a sushi restaurant that served lunch omakses so I’m lucky to have found Sushi Gin. The décor, service, and food were all sublime and top notch. We ordered the lunch Omakase which comes with 7 dishes. Highlights were:Décor – Japanese minimalism / zen-like interior that was simple, orderly, uncluttered, and sleek. There are no individual tables other than the wrap around table surrounding the sushi bar which makes for an intimate experience. I loved the double-sided chop sticks, the cutlery, and the display of sushi knives just in front of us.Service – I must apologize for not asking for names but the servers were kind, knowledgeable, and eager to help. Upon arrival, we were nicely greeted and taken to our seats. They pulled out / pushed in our chairs and helped us put our coats on the back of the chairs. Tea was always topped up before we needed to ask, dishes were explained, and were always there to answer questions of any nature. I also noticed that our main server walked around and ensured that the utensils and chairs were perfectly aligned when not servicing the customers. Top notch. The same amazing service can be said for our chef who prepared each of the sushi related dishes right in front of us with his amazing skills. He explained each piece of nigiri and answered all our questions with patience and experience.Food – All 7 courses were delicious. The miso soup was light and seemed to have a fish type broth (very nice). The salad was the right temperature (not overtly cold like other restaurants) and excellently paired with potato salad to give it a creamier texture. The fried octopus appetizer was one of my favorites as it had perfect crispness and seasoned to perfection. The Chawanmushi was a first for me and I loved it. Besides the excellent taste, I also loved the small spoon that came with it. As for the sushi, the chef expertly created 10 pieces of Nigiri one-by-one with some of the following fish: Kinmedai, kampachi, salmon, akami, otoro, and uni. The nigiri was paired with their house made picked ginger which was refreshing. Loved how the chef brushed the house made soy sauce onto the sushi rice prior to serving them on our plates to ensure optimal soy sauce to rice ratio. The hand roll was next and was filled with diced otoro - Yum! The dessert was Tamago and I enjoyed it quite a bit considering it wasn’t overtly sweet, like many are. Finally, as a special surprise, they served us a delicious chocolate cake plus a cheesecake mousse. Thank you for the kind birthday gesture.Upon leaving the restaurant, they helped with our chairs and coats again, while opening the doors for us on the way out. Impeccable service and food Sushi Gin. Thank you for a memorable omakase and we will be back!Dietary restrictions: Feel free to tell them about any dietary restrictions as they are very accommodating.“
“There food is delicious! My favorite is the Sukiyaki wafu. It seemed weird ordering a pasta at a Japanese restaurant but it's fushion and so good that I get cravings all the time. There sushi tacos are also really good. It's wrapped in tempura dipped seaweed, which I wish I could recreate at home. The price is expensive so I don't get it as often as I would like, but it's totally worth the price.“
“We recently dined at Fujisan Japanese restaurant and had an amazing experience. The food was exceptional, with a variety of delicious sushi options, including some torched sushi that was real tempting. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. What really stood out to me was the quick and efficient service, which added to the overall pleasant vibe of the restaurant. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, almost like being in an authentic Japanese home.If you're looking for a restaurant with great food, friendly staff, great value and a welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend Fujisan Japanese restaurant. I will definitely be returning!“
“A tiniest place with the most fresh sushi!I guess my Mom and I got lucky to get a table. Every other person who came in after us got turned away because they had reservations. There is lots of people in and out either looking for a table or takeout. The staff were very nice and always available for your needs. The food was delicious and flavorful.Food came fast and very hot (temperature). I love my food very hot, so this made me very happy.Parking was a bit of a challenge. There are no spots on the main road. You can park on the side streets but will have to walk to the main road which isn’t far, but on a cold or wet day it might not be ideal for some.Parking: Parking was a bit of a challenge. There are no spots on the main road. “Came for their $19.99 basic lunch AYCE and ordered two soup base, the total was around $30. Although basic set only include three kinds of meat and three kinds of sea food, me and my frds had a really good time enjoying the food in 2hrs. The overall experience is really good and will definitely come again!“
“We've been to Yorokobi so many times, but every time it's great food, great atmosphere as always!Super friendly service and reasonable prices. The Volcano Salmon, Spicy Tuna Dragon roll, and Godzilla roll are just incredibly delicious!Definitely recommend!“
“Great value, lovely atmosphere & service, and most importantly, incredible food. The sushi was fresh and super flavourful, the takoyaki was one of the best I’ve ever had, the homemade gyoza & miso soup were dynamite. Will definitely be coming back!“
“Went here for my grandpa's birthday, and it was quite the enjoyable experience. The service was done by Rei, and he was very generous and executed his job flawlessly. Easily some of the best sushi I've ever had. The barley tea that they serve is super concentrated in flavor, and I found myself drinking several cups worth. The tempura was very well battered, and my only disappointment was that my stomach isn't large enough to eat more. Would definitely come back here“
“A friend of mine told me to stop at J San for some sushi. I have to admit the sushi combo 211 I ordered was really fresh. And I liked the seafood selection they have for sale, good stuff. Overall, all the tables and the washroom were clean. But there was a couple flies I believe from that Zz plant that were flying over my head and food constantly.Parking: Parking is across the street and 3 hours free for restaurant customers. Don't park on the street.“
“Located inside Empress Walk on the second floor, always wanted to see how it stacked up to Gyubee. We were charged holiday price for Easter Monday lunch, which came out to about $40 each after tax and tip.Food was pretty good overall. Our group really enjoyed the miso marinated kalbi short rib and ordered a lot of it. The kimchi here is pretty good, but the bibimbap isn't as good. Also don't love that you have to pick between soft serve or melona for dessert. Service was decent, the staff were pretty attentive about grill changes but not so much about removing empty dishes from our table. One thing we didn't love was we ordered chicken thighs and when it came, it was mixed in the same plate with other meats like beef and sausage. Just better in my opinion to separate them to reduce the risk of getting sick.“
“Every dish was fresh, and the sushi in particular was exceptionally flavorful. The staff were extremely friendly and showed great consideration for their customers. The atmosphere and quality of service were truly impressive. I highly recommend Kibo Sushi and would give it five stars without hesitation!“
“Amazing food , amazing waitress , amazing atmosphere We have been here for the first time and definitely recommend this place.Everything was so tasty and the lady that attended us was super friendly ❤️❤️❤️Love it, love it, love it !!“
“Amazing sushi rolls and equally great service!! The owner took the time to walk us through the menu, suggesting a few of her personal favourites and making sure that we were happy with our selection. This is now our go-to place for sushi in Scarborough!“
“I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for this place. I have been coming here now since probably 2017. It is simply put, the best chicken katsu anywhere in the GTA.You can get it in a dish with rice and coleslaw or as a burger. I always get it on rice, white meat.It is always perfectly cooked, the breading is so crisp and the chicken is always nice cuts of breast meat. The put katsu sauce on the top and you can also get a free dish of Japanese curry sauce to dip it in as well. The prices are more than reasonable for the amount of food you get.I recommend this place 10/10. The owners are so nice and friendly too.“
“We ordered the oshi platter, tuna tataki sushi and jackpot. The food was delicious. Sushi tasted fresh! The tuna was melting in our mouths! Our server was nice and friendly. We had a great experience there. We'll definitely be back soon.Parking: You can park in the Canadian Tire parking lot.“
“The food is really good. The service is nice but there is one waitress that is not professional at all, she did not “allow” us to buy (pay extra) and take out our own leftovers and proceeded to tell us order less next time, and constantly telling us to hurry up even though it wasn’t even close to closing time. I would go back again for the great food but this lady makes the experience much less enjoyable.“
“Love the food. The cutlets are tender, the batter is crispy, and the sauces are quite tasty. Portions are generous. Best to ask for the sauce on the side so that the cutlet doesn't get soggy. Really enjoyed the soy karaage and okonomiyaki as well.“
“TAKI JAPANESE CUISINE . . I was searching up omakase spots uptown and decided to try Taki for my birthday dinner. As soon as you step into the restaurant, it feels like you have been transported to Japan. We were greeted immediately and brought to the omakase room where we sat in front of the sushi chef. They have a $95 omakase dinner special which is the one we opted for. . $95 Omakase Dinner Special Appetizer set Osumashi soup Salmon Carpaccio Mushimomo 8pcs of sushi Hand roll (1) Umaki Dessert - Green tea pudding . . Everything was delicious, but the Toro sushi and green tea pudding dessert stood out the most. The texture and flavours were out of this world. Service was great. Our tea cups were never empty and dishes were brought out and cleared in a timely manner. We had a lovely time.“
“We went today at 7:00 pmOur second visit this week to Haru Shabu Shabu was an absolute delight, offering an exceptional shabu shabu dining experience.Despite being responsible for cooking our own food, the staff at Haru Shabu Shabu remained attentive and accommodating throughout our meal. Their constant check-ins ensured that we had everything we needed, from the freshest ingredients to the flavorful broths and condiments. The quality of the ingredients provided for the shabu shabu was outstanding. Each item, from the thinly sliced meats to the crisp vegetables, was of the highest quality, allowing us to create a delicious and satisfying meal tailored to our preferences.A special mention must be made for Ms. Sarah and the rest of the staff, whose warmth and hospitality truly enhanced our dining experience. Their willingness to assist us and ensure our comfort made us feel welcome and appreciated. We look forward to returning for more delightful meals in the future and hope creme brulee will be back.“
“My husband and I have ordered take out and delivery from this place many times and have never been disappointed. We decided to dine in about a couple weeks ago and we were greatly pleased to have exceptional service from the moment we walked through the door. Service was amazingly, atmosphere and ambience was cozy and warm and most importantly food was fresh and delicious. They had many vegetarian options for myself, so it wasn’t a struggle deciding what to eat. Desserts were delicious as well. Kitchen staff were pleasant and the head chef/ owner was a friendly and polite individual who answered all of our questions without hesitation. You guys are amazing and take hospitality to another level. Amazing restaurant with amazing staff! ❤️“
“An all-you-can-eat restaurant that serves a variety of Asian dishes that centers around a grill at your table where you can order slices of meat and seafood to grill.A place you go to for special occasions, it will fascinate those who haven't been to an Asian grill place before.Personally, I love the fact that I can order mango yogurt (a desert dish) in any amount I want.“
“Came here twice and I became a fan of their food.First time I got a Nama Salmon Don and it was delicious! Salmon was fresh with thick cut! The portion was just right.Second time I got their Wasabi Yaki Chicken Don as I want to try something hot. Tender juicy chicken and I will recorder next time.Customer service was great, friendly staff!I would recommend order ahead and pick up later to avoid any wait time.“
“I had such a unique and creative dining experience here. The presentation of each plate was beautiful and food was phenomenal. We were seated in a very private, quiet and cozy room with a large table, which I enjoyed. The staffs were extremely friendly and knowledgeable with every detail of the meal. Highly recommend for a traditional kaiseki experience in Toronto!“
“I don’t live near Shinobu, it sometimes take me an hour to get there to pick up. This is the best place for authentic Japanese Sushi in Toronto. Always consistent fair prices and made with love and pride. Its worth the drive.?❤️?yes its 2023?Shinobu is still just as good as ever?☀️and I’m sure 2024 will be as great as ever☀️❤️???Happy New Year ?“
“It has been years that I’ve been wanting to come here and finally an opportunity presented itself and I jumped on it. We tried to make a reservation same day, but the available time slots did not agree with our schedule. We rolled the dice and went anyway and were able to get a spot at the counter. The restaurant tables were all occupied, but there were always a few spots open at the counter with a constant flow of patrons. We ordered the oden as an appetizer to share and an udon each. The oden was flavourful, especially the turnip. The udon noodles had the perfect spring to them. The broths were very tasty and matched the toppings nicely.“
“We went here for dinner last night and it was amazing. The quality of fish was excellent. We appreciate the attention to detail the restaurant adds to their dishes (fried garlic on sushi, please keep doing this…it’s very tasty!)Order for 2:- Sushi boat - comes with sashimi, sushi and rolls- Torched salmon was absolutely great way to end the mealCan’t wait to back here again. Staff is attentive and always greeting you with a smile! You can tell this place is a locals favourite, there were many walk ins and pickups while we we were dining in.“
“This Gyubee location is relatively more spacious than other locations, high ceilings with washrooms on the second floor. We always like prime kalbi, cold noodles and rice dishes here. Will come backKid-friendliness: Kids love it here for beef and dessert“
“This place has a lot of seatings and booth areas so you can have some privacy while dining. Extensive amount of food choices on the menu with decent prices. Ordered tempura vegetables and shrimp with 6 pieces total was only around $9. This tempura tasted truly delicious compared to other pricier restaurants! The whole staff greeted us the moment we came in with smile and felt their kindness/patience while we were looking through the menu. They were very accommodating with changing spicy salmon roll to dynamite roll in the dinner sushi sets for me since I don't eat spicy food. Other restaurants would always charge extra regardless if the price was the same or cheaper. The rice ratio for the rolls was PERFECT! Definitely the best one I've seen by far. I would love to try their signature rolls next time to see if they're the same. I would come here again for lunch and check them out. -1 star because: The sushi to rice ratio is a little too much so I had to take some off unfortunately. Also the salad that comes with the sets was bland, lettuce and 3 strings of beets.“
“The food is good. Unfortunately they fry everything including tempura bits and vegetable tempura in the same oil they fry the pork katsu in. So muslim and vegeterian can't eat there unless they don't care. Just wondering why they don't have a seperate fryer for tempura bits and vegetables.Vegetarian options: Need to have separate oil for vegetarian dishes.Dietary restrictions: As a muslim it is not possible to eat there specially that they use same fryer for tempura bits and vegetable tempura for pork meat. This applies to muslim Jews and vegetarians unless some don't care.“
“Decent place to satiate my craving for sushi rolls and ramen. Ramen prices are around $13.99 to $15.99, and I take advantage of the sushi rolls daily special for $9.99.Portion size is good and they add lots of toppings, and the broth is tasty.“
“This cute little establishment offers a wonderful selection of poke bowls and ramen bowls.Upon entering, I was immediately captivated by the cheerful and colorful modern oil paintings that adorned the walls. They added a vibrant and lively ambiance to the restaurant, making it a joyous place to dine.My friend and I had the Karaage Bowl with sushi rice and the Crab Poke Bowl with salad. They were such a visual feast for the eyes. The bowls came with a vibrant assortment of vegetables created a refreshing and healthy dish. The service was warm too!“
“Honestly the best sushi places I’ve ever gone. I’m not much of a sushi lover, I go to the occasional Japanese restaurant and get maybe a couple of pieces but they never really fit my palette. Like places like Ichiban, or Sushi Moto, etc were never really interesting. But after discovering this absolute whole in the wall I can’t stop eating. As I’m writing this in the past 24 hours I’ve basically eaten half a platter of their sushi completely on my own. The staff are all amazing people always having an amazing time and really make you feel included and appreciated as a customer. I now go on an almost daily to weekly basis and always order the spicy or the creamy crab rolls exclusively but their huge platters are amazing for parties and gatherings. If you want amazing sushi and the fun and humour from a hibachi restaurant go to VIP sushi they’re cheaper and the experience is way betterDietary restrictions: They’re very accommodating always doing what they can to make sure I eat what I can and exclude everything I can’tKid-friendliness: The staff are always friendly and treat children with the utmost care always saying hi and waving and making them feel comfortable in the busy environment. Earlier today a customer had come in with their shh daughter and by the time the sushi was ready the little girl was sad to leave as all the staff had made such a fun environmentWheelchair accessibility: Door may not fit a wheelchair but they will walk out and hand you your order or do what they can to accommodate you the best they can“
“I went to Poong Moon with my elderly Korean parents recently. Initially I wasn’t sure whether we made a right choice given how it looked more like a pub/bar instead of a Korean-Chinese restaurant. But don’t look that fool you. The food was outstanding. My parents and I enjoyed it very much. The service was also great as well even though they were really busy. It’s too bad that we live in Montreal otherwise we would be here a lot more often.“
“The sushi was beautifully presented and what you would expect form a sushi spot. If you're craving sushi and you're nearby I would stop by! Bento boxes are also great. The place is a bit small so if you have a big group you should probably do take out. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is that I felt like the service could have been a bit more attentive and the chairs are quite uncomfortable.“
“The food was fresh and was served fairly quickly. The servers are friendly. The restaurant is very nicely set up (has booths which are cute!).Ordered: Spicy Maki Set (Cali, salmon and tuna), Tiger Eyes Roll (eel + dynamite), veggie tempura, edamame“
“Karl, our server, was superb! Anticipated our needs and what our young kids will need. Very nice guy! Great service! Even if it’s lunch, we got the dinner menu for AYCE. So much food selections for kids and adults. Food was great! Good portion size and whatever you ordered comes. Not like other AYCE places where they cut you off if you order a lot, or the portion size is super small so you need to order more but you don’t get everything. The thickness of the sashimi is regular sized, the portions of the rolls are generous. The bbq pork buns were good too. We had the sweet sour rolls, szechuan special roll, and the diamond special roll. Everything was great! So happy we found a good ayce restaurant. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Nice ambience. Very kid friendly! Again, thanks to our server Karl for making our dining experience with young kids so easy and enjoyable (those parents with young kids 5yrs old or less will know what I mean).Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly! They have plastic cups for the kids, clean highchairs, good room to manouvre strollers, good selection of food that kids will eat.Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible tables and doors. Great for people on a wheelchair, walker, or moms with strollers.“
“Great Omakase experience that does not require 24hr pre-book. You can just walk in and order Omakase course just like in Japan.Beside the main sushi course. Small side dishes are pretty impressive, for my own experience, this is important part to make the difference between Omakase restaurants.“
“Curry and fried pork chop are both very good $24inclusiveWhat a big contrast compared to the broccoli and white rice next to itA big plate of fried pork chop with two pieces as big as a man's handAfter eating the second piece, I started to feel a little bored?I'll try ramen next time*The tableware is super clean and ordered immediately“
“Underrated excellent authentic Japanese ramen. My family enjoyed the accuracy of the flavours in their cuisine. We loved their spicy pork ramen, takoyaki, karaage, and many other dishes. The owner and staff are extremely polite and lovely. This is a hidden gem in Scarborough, so if you want the tastiest ramen, give it a try; you'll be hooked.“
“I have always liked their sushi in the north. My favorite is J San Sushi. But in recent years, the packaging has become more and more low-key. Today, the takeout bag is just a white plastic bag... I was given two chopsticks and tissues, but I was only given one for a large box of sushi. The wasabi that was small enough to stick on chopsticks and the soy sauce that was only one-fifth of the box was not enough for one person... It is difficult for me to give a five-star review. The packaging is far from worthy of the price and is a bit petty.“
