“The Screaming Unicorn is a popup eatery located at Buttonwoods Brewery in Cranston. They have a small kitchen space and pickup window next to the bar and offers a changing menu of crafted sandwiches, smashburgers, salads, French onion dip, and unicorn fries/nachos, most sandwiches (sandos) priced $14-$16 before tax. I stopped by Buttonwoods Brewery recently and headed over to Screaming Unicorn. I ordered a Braised Beef Sando ($16 plus tax) and was given a number stand to place on my table. The brewery was quite busy and I got my food in about 15 minutes. The sandwich itself was cut in half and had soft juicy braised pulled beef, onions, provolone cheese, horseradish aioli, chimmichurri on a toasted chewy bun and au jus for dipping. The sando was not very big and messy to eat. I enjoyed my sando with a cold drink as this was a good place to get inside for the hot weather outside. I will definitely have to try other crafted food items as their menu changes each week.“
“Had a wonderful lunch with a dear friend! We were not disappointed! We shared the Buratta and grilled sourdough bread w prosciutto and grilled peppers app. Delicious! The burger and tacos were fabulous! Brittany was so attentive, professional and friendly. Loved it, will be back!“
“Everything about this place is enjoyable. The environment, the staff and food! I had the cod. Cooked to perfection. A pitcher of red sangria, also ridiculously good. We accidentally came on a night with entertainment. Awesome surprise. Apparently every Friday. So we will definitely be back again, and again!“
“I love love love the gluten free and dairy free options!!! It truly is one of the best restaurants for these kinds of dietary restrictions. I feel like I can eat like a normal person and I truly had a blast last night with a big group of friends! I can’t wait to come back! It really impresses me when a waitress asks which dietary restrictions I have and the food comes with little indicators it’s gluten free. Gives me such peace of mind!!“
“Family tip: go in the afternoon/early evening on a weekday.Tasty food, good service and decent beer.College life: go later in the evening/night and you got yourself a rowdy crowd. Service will come at some point. Beer is alcohol so we would say good.“
“Top notch all around - destination worthy for sure. The hospitality, food and drinks are all amazing. Very creative and delicious cocktails available inside and out. Standouts were the perfectly-shucked oysters, grilled striped bass and Catbird - the Miami Vice was also a welcome frozen refresher on a very hot summer afternoon.“
“Delicious delicacies and amazing staff took care of my FIL's birthday dinner perfectly. Menu delicious, drinks delicious, dessert delicious. Couldn't be happier with the whole experience. The beef tartar is out of this world and the black pasta is literally to die for. ???“
“My husband and I were fortunate enough to have Troop host our wedding in November and it was the best time! Every one of our guests commented that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. Adam and Nikki helped me from the beginning to capture my vision of my perfect wedding day. The staff was on point and the food...A-MAZING! No stuffy country club blah food here! And we had bartenders that rocked!! Never waited for a drink. As the bride...I have to give Nikki a special shout out, she was right there to make sure my husband and I ate and were taken care of. The best was when I was getting into the limo to leave and she handed me a take out bag with pieces of my wedding cake and Troop's delicious chocolate chip cookies. If you haven't had one then your missing out. My guests all left with one to take home. I highly recommend Troop to host your next party. Enjoy!“
“I had an absolutely amazing experience at The Shanty. Heather was my bartender and was so much fun and made such delicious recommendations. I wasn't planning on dessert but she mentioned the adult chocolate milk and there was no way I wasn't trying that! It was so so good. I will absolutely coming back!“
“I finally made it back to my favorite eatery back in P. The food is outstanding as always. That said the wait staff was equally as extraordinary. Just when I think this place has dialed it all up to 10… they figure out a new way to make an amazing visit even more special. In my opinion this is the one sure thing that has never never disappointed.“
“They have a solid menu with not too much of choices, therefore they serve really good and fresh food. Clam chowder is tasty and not too heavy.Parking: Free parking in a parking lot beside the location as well as paid parking garages in close walk distance.“
“We were seated comfortably away from other diners as we were dining early and there was available seating, we very much appreciated that. Billy was our server and a top notch one he was. Pleasantly took care of the necessary questions then followed thru with all required checking and providing and all with a friendly demeanor which we also like. It was our 36th wedding anniversary and we had celebrated at the old Mr. Marcos on the wedding night which is today the Meritage. Upon patiently listening to our story Billy kindly offered a cake "on the house". As nice as the offer was we were both very full having thoroughly enjoyed our baked cod (simple but superb) and a perfectly cooked filet mignon. I am thrilled that the area has a consistently excellent restaurant with affordable prices. There is a nicely varied, eclectic menu which would suit most tastes.“
“Fantastic all around! Recommended by a local friend who did us right. Starting with the super cute and friendly waitress, it was all good. Ramen salad...yes, please! White fish pate, ok! Best shrimp and grits I've ever had...and I lived in New Orleans for four years. 15/10 will do again if I am in Providence again. This city definitely punches above its weight class, culinarily, and this place is punching hard!“
“I read about New Rivers in RI Monthly, and decided to check it out with my husband (he loves bread, and we saw rolls listed). Best choice ever. We had a few drinks at the bar while we waited for our table to open, which were delicious. Once we got seated, we ordered a cheese plate and their famous New River Rolls. The cheese plate was small but curated so well. We could have eaten 3 orders of the rolls.. so worth it. The food was so fresh and flavorful, and genuinely just awesome to eat. Service was wonderful, the staff were super friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Can’t wait to go back“
“Their Bloody Mary is one of the best ones I have ever tasted! Also tried the French toast brioche with blueberries and it was delicious! Their portion sizes are quite large, so even one dish is big enough to share with someone! The ambiance of the place is of the rusty, dive bar type but it works for them! The staff was also very fast and friendly! Will come back in the future to try more of their drinks!“
“MY NEW FAV SPOT!!!!!!! Hands down! The customer service was top tier. I ate every single drop of food in my plate. Tore it UP! The shrimp was so delicious, perfect blend of garlic & spice. The chicken?!?! Oh my God. Perfect texture & flavor. The mac n cheese & the corn was also so so good. Everything on my plate was 1000/10! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS JOINT, try them out!“
“This is a fantastic restaurant with great service. The food was really good and the pace was relaxed. Our waiter was one of the best I have ever had. Extremely attentive and kind. We ate here for Easter. Wide selection of items. Everyone was happy with their meals. We will be back.“
“After attending church in Providence on Sunday, my friends and I chose to have brunch at Rouge Island Local Kitchen & Bar!Parking near Weybosset St always proves challenging, and even though we called ahead for reservations, we were informed that we still had to endure a 40-minute wait. Eager to indulge in our meals, we settled into the cozy yet slightly warm dining room.Taking 15 minutes to peruse the menu, I selected the Cinnamon Roll French Toast Sticks. Despite their appealing appearance, I found the texture and flavor disappointing, sensing the batter was undercooked. Conversely, my friend enjoyed them, praising their hearty feel & excellent cinnamon crunch exterior, rating them 4 out of 10.The absolute highlight of my meal was "The Bear" breakfast sandwich, priced at $23. It featured Beer Braised Short Rib Shredded Beef, Giardiniera Aioli, Cabot Creamery Sharp Cheddar, Roasted Garlic, Arugula, Fried Shallots, and a Sunny Side Egg on a Griddled Sesame Seed Bun. I opted for an over-easy egg and homefries. My brother & I both got this thing of beauty. We gave it an impressive 8.8 outta 10 for its fantastic flavors!Other friends tried the Crispy Chicken & Waffle, appreciating the crispy, meaty chicken but finding it lacking in flavor. The waffle, though well-cooked, was deemed average, with the fresh berries being the highlight. They rated it 6.1 out of 10 and expressed a desire to explore different menu items next time. One friend ventured into The Blondie French Toast from the specials menu, describing it as lackluster & mushy with an unexpected lemon taste. She mentioned that the flavors didn't complement each other well. Priced at $19 for two pieces, most of it remained on the plate, resulting in a unfortunate 3 outta 10 rating.I would like to extend special acknowledgment to our exceptional server, Ally, whose attentive service significantly enhanced our dining experience!Despite the mixed experience, our overall impression was positive, leaving us eager to return for more tasty and creative brunch offerings!FOLLOW ME ON Instagram @IGTYFOOD !!!“
“We tried something local and new and we were not disappointed!I had a bourbon burger (perfect), the hand made chips were great and fried curd with their sauce was outstanding. The Coup, I was told, was beyond expectations (that’s big coming from a person who doesn’t always compliment.)We will be back to try more.Support small business!!“
“Finally tried this hidden gem with girlfriends for a night out and everything was absolutely amazing. The food, from the taste to the presentation was extraordinary! Atmosphere was comfortable and service was exceptional! Can’t believe it took me this long to try it. Will be back soon!“
“My friends and I thoroughly enjoy the Providence location and wanted to experience its East Greenwich sister. We had a marvelous time! Courtney took care of us; she was friendly and attentive. Our apps—fried zucchini, fried burrata ravioli, and blackened swordfish—were very good. And I loved my veal chop. East Greenwich may be an excellent alternative for those who find the social, club/bar atmosphere of Circe-Providence overwhelming.“
“The professionalism and genuine warmth of the staff contribute significantly to the positive atmosphere at The Slow Rhode. Their attention to detail and friendly demeanor make each visit feel like a special occasion. It's evident that they take pride in creating an environment where guests not only enjoy fantastic food, like the Morcilla Sausage with a smoked paprika hash, or the Mushroom Risotto, but also feel genuinely welcomed.“
“We are from out of town and wanted the "local" experience. The bartender was great and he gave us so much insider info about the city and where to go. The regulars were super, the food was simple yet delicious and the live music was a fun bonus!! Definitely get some local beer and the stuffies!!“
“When my girlfriend and I go on our travels we make no plans but decide to wander upon eateries that we may enjoy. This was a happy accident. Not only did we visit once for brunch, but we were so impressed and treated with great care that we returned that evening for a basque-style cheesecake. Chef’s kiss! Wonderful food, ambiance and service.Kudos to Head Chef for all his careful curation to make this a memorable experience.“
“Quiet Thursday night but regardless the service here was outstanding. Our server was on point with making sure we were well taken care of, offered suggestions and was personable and just over all great.Cocktails were amazing, well balance and tasted great.Food was solid, we all enjoyed our meals from the apps to the dessert. If I were to criticize anything it would be the nacho appetizer that wasn’t as good as the rest of the meal or experience. That being said, we will be back and I can’t wait for the better weather to enjoy the outdoor bar and patio“
“Great place to watch a game and have a cigar and drinks with friends. We ordered food and came out promptly. The waitress was very friendly and made sure our drinks were full. Had their own parking lot across the street in busy federal hill, making it easy for “
“We made a last minute late (9:15p on a Sunday night) reservation for my fiancé's birthday. Our waiter was so welcoming and wonderful - we didn't feel rushed at all. The food was amazing and my drink was delicious. Awesome experience! We'll definitely be back!“
“This little restaurant is a HIDDEN GEM. I drove past it a hundred times. Food is over the top good. Best clam zuppa I ever had too. Prices are very reasonable. Compares to high end restaurants in Federal Hill. Waitress was fun . Definitely going back there. Not a fancy place just tables ,bar and Red Sox on TV. Very comfortable“
“There is a reason Dante's always has people waiting out side to get a table here. The food is that good. They serve breakfast dishes that you can't get anywhere else and that sets them apart. Try the Hot Pastami Benedict! It is so flavorful and delicious! You will go back again time after time to order that and the many more delectable meals on the menu. Such as Huevos Rancheros, Pulled Pork Hash, or the Fried Green Tomato BLT. You have to get the Beignets whether you go for breakfast or lunch. They are perfect to share! This is must! Give Dante's a try! Everyone I know loves it here and so will you!“
“Saw a great show had this amazing drink, I don't drink often and this was great sweet and tasty. Had popcorn chicken and jalapenos poppers it's bar food it's salty and delicious. They had pizzas that looked good but I already overindulged would go back“
“Really nice place with a good solid selection of cigars. Service is friendly and helpful. The only caveat to this great place is that if there are a lot of people there is gets LOUD and the smoke eaters seem to be able to keep up, but not 100% of the time. It's like they need to turn them up to really clean the air, because when they do that it clears up nicely. Once when I was there they had only one person working the humidor, bar, keeping the place cleaned, cashing out customers etc. She was very attentive under the circumstances and actually did a great job. Other than those things it's a very nice place to stop and enjoy a smoke. I'm definitely going back.“
“WILL drive back to RI from NY for the calamari. Best I ever had, like ever. The short rib was a tad disappointing. It was cooked to perfection but tastless. Everything else was great including our server RYAN with an R. Thanks for a wonderful experience. My sister enjoyed her birthday dinner. Will be back.“
“I need to give a big shout out to Carissa. Not only did she take care of us beautifully. But she was very sensitive to the fact that my husband had just come out of the hospital and took care of us in a timely fashion so that we could enjoy a wonderful meal but make our exit also. Food was fantastic and I highly recommend the mushroom tortellini, not like anything you've had anywhere.“
“I’ve had breakfast, lunch and dinner at Frank’s throughout the years not once have I’ve been disappointed! The service is excellent and food is amazing with out braking the bank as everything is very affordable. Always consistent!!!! Definitely recommend they treat you like family ?“
“Nothing really special about this place but I came here on Sunday afternoon with my kids for some light snacks along with some pools. Drinks and foods we got all tasted fine and the kids had a fun time so what could I say more than that. We will probably return again!“
“Everything was absolutely perfect. I celebrated my birthday there on a Sunday afternoon for Brunch. I'm from Houston and came to celebrate with some good music, drinks and food. My waiter was John and he made the experience so special for me. I recommend this place 10 out of 10.“
“Just went for the first time with my daughter’s today. Was greeted by Camille. We got a little bit of everything jerk pork with rice and beans and a variety of empanadas. We also got tres leches and flan. Everything was fresh and delicious we will definitely be back.“
“Love it here! Right down the street from my house. They have excellent food and the best wings around hands down! Staff is always friendly and I had a conversation with the owner once and he was very enlightening on all the different nightly things that take place there. The bar is pretty big and does get packed quick on a weekend. Drinks are all reasonably priced and I love their Moscow mules, the girls work quick at making the drinks but they all taste the same which is important! The weekends usually always have bands and is a good time. Tables and chairs near the stage area and dance floor. One bathroom for woman and men (sometimes u may have to wait) the sink in the ladies room can be tricky but once u figure it out it's good. Parking in the back and on the side street, again it gets busy. It's just an all around nice little spot for a drink and food or just to enjoy some music or other weekly entertainment! Def recommend!“
“It's del's...what else I can say. How can you go wrong with a cold lemonade on a hot summer day. The only problem I've ever had is I think it's a little pricey for flavored ice but it's always been like that so I'll keep going there.“
“Food wasn't very good and they only had 2 food options. The wrap had almost no meat in it and the turkey club was bad. The bacon (?) And turkey was gross and stiff. The lettuce was horribly soggy. The fries were heavenly though. Best airport fries iv had. Second place compared to wendys. The server was super sweet though. He did a great job.“
“What a find! I found this a bit off the beaten path. But SOOO worth it! The 'Everything' sauce 9n the Fish and Chips was amazing! Almost seemed like they were using the pickled banana peppers as the base. Tie that with cilantro and a few other items and you have a real winner here. The sauce on the Shrimp had a similar flare to it, but tomato based (or just mixed in).So think about this a minute. You have a sauce with some pickle flavor. You add salt to your liking (I added a lot) and you have a very interesting flavor for the fries! Genius! The Chicken Dinner was an outside the box way for me to go surf and turf. The seasoning had explosive flavor. Just wonderful!I can't wait to go back for the Salmon!“
“I have often heard about how great the burgers were at The Abbey and now I know why. Recently I decided to try their Roadhouse Burger before the Providence College hockey game, and it brought me back to a time where my mom would make burgers from scratch when I was a young teenager, grinding the beef cuts herself on the meat grinder clamped at the end of the dining room table. The place was packed and yet the service came with a smile, and they were very accommodating by seating us with two others at a table for four. Great speedy service (there was a team of cooks preparing for the rush), and great atmosphere. Now let's talk burger. Any great burger starts with good cuts of beef. I could see that they grind the beef themselves, and this half pound behemoth nestled on a huge bun to support its weight, was fresh, and not frozen. Seriously, they ask you how you want it cooked, like a steak. Isn't that what a burger is...a ground steak sandwich? Every bite was delicious, and regardless of which burger you order, the star is the beef, and the toppings are there for the ride, not to be the main attraction. For those who are gluten-free you could order it without the bread. So if you are craving a tasty burger in Rhode Island, forget all those snooty, trendy bistros that try and get it right, and go to The Abbey and treat yourself to the best burger in the state.“
“I've been there twice, enjoyed the service, and the food was delicious. It can be loud due to the bar so maybe not for people who are looking for a quiet meal though I have only been there in the evening, not sure if it's a quieter atmosphere earlier in the day. It's definitely a place I would recommend.“
“Was there for new year brunch but they wasn’t prepared for the brunch and couldn’t attend the reservations. Hope they do better next time.Parking: Don’t get confused for the signs and park at the right parking space designated.Kid-friendliness: They do have high chair“
“All you can drink mimosas for $16...you don't have to twist my arm. In all seriousness, however, the bartender was extremely attentive and prompt. Food was delicious and worth the value. Drinks kept coming. The vibe of the place was awesome. Went before the PC v. Georgetown basketball game; it was packed, but not so much that you couldn't move or get comfortable. Food: A+ Service: A+ Price: A+ Vibe: A+ Cleanliness: A+ Will return for future PC games. Go Friars!“
“This was a great place for a relaxed lunch with family in a none rushed relaxed setting. The bang bang broccoli was amazing fresh and cooked to perfection. The imposter burger was good. Fish sandwich was great as well. Staff was very good. Great “
“A fun, divey spot, even on a quiet night, the Hot Club features great city views, cheap drinks, and outstanding bar snacks. What more can you ask for? We stopped in late on a weeknight and settled on their marina-side patio with a couple of vodka sodas. After following that up with a couple local brews, we sampled from their late night menu. The seasoned fries were delicious, but the fried pickles were the standout and a perfect antidote to the beer. Unassuming and comfortable, the Hot Club is a perfect late night spot.“
“First time here, and let me tell you...it was phenomenal! Food was exquisite and tasteful. Staff friendly and attentive, and drinks on point. We had oysters, grilled and raw...an explosion of taste. Octopus, on point. Tenderloin, moist and full of flavors.. everything was just great! So worth “
“The restaurant is in the hotel I stayed at. I had dinner here last night and now breakfast today and both meals were great! The food was good, came out quick and hot too. The service was great both times, plenty attentive without being over bearing. It's their slow season and they're not very busy and it's easy for them to be overbearing when you're the only one or very few people in dinning. I'll eat here next time I'm in town too.“
“Went for the first time on NY Eve. The atmosphere was pleasant and elegant, food was absolutely delicious with perfect portion size. Our waitress Ashley was very nice, knowledgeable, and attentive, made us feel welcome. Definitely will come back!!“
