Experience Aransas Pass' Mexican food at these fantastic spots.
“Was very nice. Friendly waitress. There was a difference I asked for, but was not fixed that way. She came back and asked me about it. Since it was not correct, she brought me another plate with the corrections made. I was not charged. I would go “
“Food is hot and decent. The chips and salsa were really good! The food for 3 was 30. About what I'd expect. The "Mexican sodas" (whatever. Coke and Juarritos)were 9 and with tax and tip we arrived at 57. That's more than I was expecting. But overall it was ok food. There is Cabrito on the menu.“
“Not being overly impressed with any Mexican food places in Rockport, not bad but nothing great, drove the 10 miles to this place. Glad I did, it was a little better. Chips were fresh and hot, salsa was ok but could use a little more umph. They have a range of authentic style to Tex-Mex. Today's special was fideo, something you don't see at very many places. However, I opted for the Mexican plate (definitely Tex-Mex) keeping it simple. Beef, crispy taco was the highlight of the plate, beef enchiladas were good, rice a little above average, refried beans were just ok. Prices are very reasonable, always get you with the drink, $3+ for tea. Bill was just over $13. Service was good. I'll definitely go back again and try some of their authentic fare.“
“The location and atmosphere may be off putting but do not let that deter you from giving this place a try. The service, food and price can't be beat. Portions are generous and conducive to sharing. The migas mexicanno are "THE BEST" around.“
“This was our first time to visit this restaurant. Food is great! Refried beans and rice were kind of bland, but at least they didn't burn the tongue out of my wife's mouth. We have eaten at over three dozen Mexican restaurants in the San Antonio area and this one scores right up there with the best of them. One exceptional note for this restaurant: They have the best flour tortillas of any of the nearly 100 Mexican restaurants I've eaten in around the world. This restaurant is going to be one of our mainstays when we don't feel like cooking at home. One minor note of disappointment: We were not given chips and salsa when we were seated. Not a failure as many restaurants do not seem to know what chips are really great.“
“First time customer. I had a bit of trouble seeing it from the road but I’m sure glad I turned around and looked again. All the items looks delicious and I opted for the large Honey Bee Pollen smoothie. It was outstanding, smooth and creamy. Tasted wonderful. I’ve been told that the tacos are wonderful and that they are very large. The restaurant was clean and well-lit. Bathroom was very clean. I’ll definitely make this a regular stop. Mrs. Nunez has done a wonderful job on this restaurant.Dietary restrictions: A lot of variety for any type of eater.“
“Ditch the pricy and fancy chains – this local joint is all about good food, friendly faces, and prices that won't break the bank.I can personally vouch for the chili relleno or carne guisado.Things to make sure you try no matter what you order: the red and green sauces & fresh tortillas (corn & flour).“
“Small mom and pop restaurant serving very good Mexican food. I've only had breakfast so far. But, want to come in later in day for lunch or dinner. Oh, I'll be back again and again.Parking: Parking can be challenging if busy but worth the wait.“
“I used to eat here a couple times a week when I lived in Ingleside. One of the only things I miss about Ingleside, the Santa Fe Burrito, street tacos, and the Tortillas soup were my favorites but nothing on their menu ever disappointed me. They usually get the good out pretty Rick, and are always friendly.“
“The salsa and chips were very good. I had the Ceaser salad with grilled shrimp - it was excellent. We had the combo fajitas which we both really enjoyed. The one issue I did not appreciate is that they only accepted cash - most people prefer using a credit card. The owner should just raise prices by 3% to cover the card fees.“
“The "Full Meal Deal" breakfast taco is a craving that my wife and I can not ignore! On mine, I like to substitute Barbacoa instead of bacon.Even when there's a long line, the service is fast and friendly. If you're in a pinch for time you can call your order in.“
“Great atmosphere and the best fajitas ever and the owner Mr. Pena is the best restaurant owner you could ever meet. I couldn’t give this restaurant enough stars! Thank you Mr. Peña and your servers for the great experience my family and myself had.“
“Very good place...excellent service...the waiter attentive at all times to what we needed...very delicious food...in the United States Mexican food is difficult to match...but here it is much better. .at least they don't put chedar cheese on everything...I give it a 100 rating and of course I will return“
“5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Driving back and forth for over a year, I finally had time to stop in for a late lunch ? This restaurant is a MUST HAVE, if you're ever in the area. I got seated and served within 2 minutes. Enjoy the Enchilada Plate, and it took me back, to when my Mom made enchilada chili sauce, from scratch ? I got to chat with an lady there, no realizing, that was the actual owner, and she made me feel like family. Thank you for the great food and company. Folks... Take me up on it. The Original Vallarta gets my vote for Best of the Best ?“
“This was our favorite restaurant on our vacation to Rockport. Everything was excellent. The food quality was really good. The portions were plentiful. The service was fabulous. The outside was well kept. The inside was warm, inviting and very clean. The other restaurants we visited in town were largely misses. The differences here are why we returned here for a second time on our short trip. Thank ya'll for such a great experience!“
“It’s a bit of a Love hate so far. Their Masa is great it has really good flavor the size and meat inside is a problem. Coming from Cali I’m used too some Red chili being inside the Tamale maybe my batch missed it IDK. Okay so if you eat the Tamale with the Salsa supplied with your meal it’s pretty good I’m just not used to eating it that way I think what makes this tamale is the Masa. If there was no salsa the review probably would had not been good. It’s worth a try though. I will come back to. Taste the Jalapeño tamale.“
“The portion size is very generous. We accidentally ordered too much food because we were not expecting such large portions for the more than reasonable price. But that's not a bad thing, the food is really good and now we have some great leftovers.Great food, good prices, and friendly service. I highly recommend.“
“I love this place. Everything I've tried has been excellent. Large portions as well. Got the California burrito this trip. Wonderful and enough left for lunch tomorrow! The staff here is friendly and attentive. The decor is great. Highly recommend!“
“Great place to eat, but sometimes, order can be wrong. Be sure to check it before you leave. The staff is great and friendly, but as always, people have a rough day.. so please be kind and understanding. Fast food is one of the toughest jobs to have, especially when dealing with the public. Great place to sit and eat as well. They have inside options or a small outside area you can eat at. The bathroom is always clean as well as the dining area.Vegetarian options: You can get most of the menu vegetarian, but also be aware that even though they have ingredients seperated its still prepared in the same area with meat and dairy.Parking: Big parking lot with plenty of room 20+ cars.Kid-friendliness: This place is kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: Some areas may be tight inside, but they have an outside area with plenty of room for a wheelchair.“
“It's the first time I come and Everything Very Rich I ordered some fried eggswith chilaquiles and a piece of meat and beansEverything is delicious. See you next time.I didn't take a photo because I didn't leave anything behind?“
