“We chose Ling Kitchen to celebrate a birthday. It was a dining experience that we will not forget. The staff were easy to communicate with and facilitate a food allergy, prior to arrival. Once you arrive, they will let you into a gated parking lot in the back. You will be greeted by the staff and shown to the front of the building where you will be received with champagne and tea. The dining room is one large family table directly in the kitchen.
The hosts will guide you through an exquisite 9 course tasting menu. The first 5 courses had a heavy seafood focus. Of these courses, the highlights were the seafood spread on top of a fried taro and the dumplings which had a delicious chicken filing accompanied by seafood. Moving on to the meat courses. The got better and better. The Peking Duck 2 ways that you turned into a bao slider was very good. The beef was cooked to perfection. It had a slightly sweet sauce, with a Thai basil pesto, and jellied fish and fried potato for texture. The main dishes concluded with our favorite of the night. It was a pork belly recipe that had been passed down through the family. The sauce was savory, salty, and sweet. The dish was accompanied by fried garlic and onions and a delicious black garlic leaf. The gold sheet on top was an added touch of elegance. The 5 small desserts that finished the meal were good, but nothing we would seek out again. This truly is one of the best dining experiences in Austin.“

“Great neighborhood Chinese spot! We picked up take out and was greeted by their friendly staff who offered me water while I waited. The portions were huge and the food was served really hot so by the time we got home and started eating it was a perfect temperature. Both my husband, daughter, and I had some and had leftovers for the next day. We would definitely go again and would also go in person for a meal.“

“The skin noodles and pork burgers are so delicious and authentic, coming in very large portions!! It outshines some of the Shanxi restaurants I’ve tried in the States. The owner is very friendly and generous. Would definitely come back another time!“

“Had a fantastic experience and my family is definitely coming back! The food and the service were excellent and the Nasi Pedang was impressive. We came with children who ate picky and that also loved everything and the staff was so sweet to them. I want to eat there everyday.... At least if I could I would. 🥳“

“Hakka Express food truck in Anderson Mill is a hidden gem for anyone craving delicious Indo-Chinese cuisine. The standout dish has to be the Schezwan noodles—perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spice. The momo are a delightful treat, packed with flavor and served fresh. The chicken lollipop is another highlight, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, paired beautifully with their Schezwan gravy.
The customer service is incredibly friendly, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. If you’re in the area and looking for a satisfying meal, Hakka Express is definitely worth a visit!“

“I've been there twice already! It's soo good! I would recommend getting the chili oil wontons, green beans, and black and pepper udon. There are different spice levels (they don't say this) but I think default is wayyyy to spicy.
The first time I ordered the black and pepper udon, the flavor was sooo good BUT it was too spicy to enjoy 😭 second time I got it mild, and it was perfect... So good!!“

“It is about time I reviewed this place. I've been here so many times yet I haven't had time to review it. I have a love-hate relationship with this restaurant for many personal reasons. The first couple times I came. It was so packed. There's limited parking around the apartments too unless you want a parking in the parking garage now which we can validate so that's good. Plus we had to wait for a long time that time but there's fun video games you can play while you wait in a very small waiting area or you can be outside. Winter is fine but when it's hot, it's not that pleasant. There's a yummy mango expensive Hong Kong dessert place next-door.
But this place is beloved by my son and a lot of his friends who love Sichuan food and Austin is just in love with Sichuan food. And I being Cantonese have a hard time liking mala and all things spicy and all my Canto friends find it hard to love all these new sichuan places popping up.
With that said, I have to give an unbiased review of bamboo house and I've tried to like it more over the years but I went recently because of a bday request and just have to say that it is constantly not bad delivering high food quality. We ordered half Canto half Sichuan food that's not that spicy so pea leaves were done excellently. I love the size of the plates. The beef lo mein was good. Salt and pepper or anything here fried is good. The two main staple Sichuan dishes we had to order that I can't seem to enjoy, but they are done spectacularly is the sour cabbage pork soup, which is pretty famous and the mala chicken so spicy. Just be careful of those little numbing spice balls. They pop so many into the soup. They are lethal, but that is why people keep coming and that's why this place keeps thriving besides the duck and all the other things.
Suffice to say, it's not bad if you want good food for good quality and large plates come here and maybe an off night like a weekday night might be better but weekends it will be very crowded but enjoy. They're doing well. Very hot woks which are great for Chinese food, big tables so that there will be room for big families and smaller tables for more intimate settings. It's happening. It comes out fast. It's pretty clean in there. I'll give it a thumbs up for another Chinese place, probably the better one out in Austin right now and not too greasy or dirty versus others like Asia Café could be :)“

“I grew up eating at this north Austin staple for their authentic Taiwanese/Chinese dishes like beef noodles, pork shank noodles, and beef scallion pancake rolls, and they have always served delicious food. I recently tried out their Americanized Chinese dishes which were a little less consistent—the lomein, fried rice, and braised pork rice were out of this world delicious but the meat pieces in the general tso chicken was a little stringy/dry and the dried chilis in the orange beef were burnt black which affected the flavor. I’m still going to keep coming here and love that this restaurant has been in our community for as long as I can remember!“

“Best noodles I've had in Austin. So tasty and a generous portion. This place is all about the food, no frills. I've tried about half the menu at this point and my favorites are the spicy lamb noodle and the sesame pockets, but there isn't a bad choice in the place. This place is my current obsession, I make the drive down from Round Rock weekly.“

“This is literally one of my happy places! Staff is friendly and warm, atmosphere is cozy, and food is unparalleled. The amount of care and thoughtfulness that goes into every component of every dish is just amazing and hard to find. A really unique and fun concept that doesn’t take itself too seriously but you can tell there is some serious talent in that kitchen. Yellow ranger is a warm hug on a rainy day!“

“Stopped by Bento Teppanyaki for a casual dinner and left pretty satisfied. The food came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor—no frills, just solid teppanyaki goodness.
The chicken wings? So good. Easily the surprise favorite of the meal!
The bento plates were generous and tasty—meat was cooked well, the veggies had a great sear, and the fried rice brought it all together without being overly greasy.
Service was quick and polite, and the vibe was relaxed—perfect for a no-stress weeknight meal.
If you’re craving teppanyaki and some seriously good wings, Bento hits the spot.“

“Cedar Park has very few decent Chinese food spots, so happy to have found Mala chili. Things that stand out are the expansive and creative menu and good portions on the appetizers.
They do have many of the typical dishes (sweet and sour pork, orange beef, etc,) but they also have many things we've never seen that we'd like to come back to try. And they don't skimp on orders like dumplings.
Service is great as well.“

“I have to say, great service, great food selections, and amazing pricing. Every time I pop in it's always great. I genuinely don't understand why they are not full blown busy as their other locations.
Parking cam be a little hectic. Avoid the overpriced parking lot next door Valet is cheaper snd more convenient.
Overall, amazing spot for random nights and even date nights for all!“

“Certain dishes were just incredible - the miso soup, the poke bowls, crab rangoon, and the mushroom salad. The sweet and sour chicken was however very dry, no sauce at all. Mixed feelings overall, but this place definitely feels authentic and has a lot to offer.“

“Just tried Song La for the first time today. Shirley was so incredibly friendly and the food was fantastic. I spent 3 months in Taiwan before moving to Austin and was craving some Taiwanese fried chicken and this hit the spot. Plus, everything is made to order and comes out super fresh (that said, don't come in a rush, make sure you've got a little time to enjoy their new spot at The Thicket and hang for a bit). Whether you've had Taiwanese food before and are craving it or just want to try some incredible fried chicken in a cool South Austin spot, definitely give them a try. ❤“

“The stuff is delicious. I got the General Tso chicken with fried rice and egg drop soup. The sauce is a beautifully thick and full of flavour and the pieces of chicken are equally thick. It is exactly what I wanted. Many other places the egg drop soup disappoints because it doesn’t have enough salt or flavour but this guy takes the cake.
It is perfect for a gloomy day.“

“Great prices and incredible amount of food given. So glad we tried it and will be back! We ordered orange, General Tso’s, and sesame chicken, along with some egg drop soup. Flavor was great on all, but egg drop soup was lacking a little (still would order again though because it’s cheap!)“

“This is easily the best Chinese food, by far, my wife and I have had in Austin. For a very long tme, we used to get food from A+A Sichuan, but Asia Cafe has surpassed them. Asia cafe has been ranked as one of the top 50 best Chinese restaurants in the USA. Do yourself a favor and try them out. Every dish we have tried is excellent. Highly recomended.“
