“Food was good but not amazing. Staff were nice. Atmosphere on patio was cozy with the fireplace and very nice. Main complaint is the parking situation. They have free valet and small parking lot. Waiting for valet was a hassle and caused us to be 20mins late for reservation. We could have parked ourselves and got inside quicker. Wish that most of the parking spots weren’t reserved for valet.“

“I loved everything from the intro walk on ambience to the wait staff. Superbly accommodating accept for the fact that they were prepared for outdoor seating but unwilling to provide the heaters . We understand that they are put away but if they're on site; they should always be an option in 47 degree wind chill variables ! Otherwise we loved it all“

“The star that was missing for 5 is because it is the only restaurant that charges for takeout, even if you go for it yourself. So the food, plus taxes, plus tip, and apart from the takeout charge, it's already very expensive ?? I really like their food but the economy is not there to waste money. Another detail that bothers me about that place is the tables, they are super uncomfortable. I don't think that a restaurant that charges for everything and has enough income doesn't even reward its customers with the comfort of its seats and tables ??“

“We were in town for a concert and found our way to Hay Elotes. The staff was super nice and friendly. We got the elotes, Mangonada and the Bandera. The elotes was probably the best I've ever had. The Mangonada was delicious and refreshing. The Bandera had such an incredible combination of flavors I can almost taste it as I write this. The perfect treat for such a hot day.

“The BEST tacos I've ever had!!! I visit every time I'm in Austin, often multiple times. The staff is friendly, the outdoor dining space is airy and relaxing, and the tacos will change your life. I've had the birria, tripa, barbacoa, campechano, and pastor, but the buche is by far my favorite! They also have breakfast tacos to start your day off right. A MUST when you're in SoCo. ¡Gracias! “Wow wow wow. This place is truly a gem. I know there are a million taco trucks in Austin, but this one is pretty special.

We stopped in and split a few different tacos: chicharron and egg, al pastor, migas, and chorizo/egg/cactus. The chicharron was really tender and went well with the egg. The pastor was crazy good. It was shredded and had a lovely marinade and pineapple flavor. The chorizo was fantastic because it wasn't super greasy. Finally, the migas was super good and came with their homemade refried beans. I'm pretty sure the tortillas were homemade or at least tasted like they were. Their three salsas were really great too.

The older lady working the truck is so sweet. She gave us great service and cooked up ridiculously good food. It's like someone's little abuelita made us our meal. :)

We will 100% be returning for more.

We have been coming here for years and the tourists that feel it’s a “tourist trap” need to understand what type of restaurant they are walking into- local, great food, service and family owned. Knockout martini is amazing, Bob Armstrong dip is unbeatable. The burritos and beef fajitas are the best by far. We will continue to support Austin’s favorite Tex mex restaurant and clearly the people that matter will too.“

The carne asada was great, the pastor tacos with the fresh pineapple lived up to having pastor in the name, and the quesabirria tacos had us wishing we got more. But what blew our mind, maybe because we weren’t expecting it, were the hot dogs. Topped with your choice of meat, they stole the show.“

“Every taco that we ate was unbelievable. The guacamole was super fresh and they gave us a ton of chips. The chicken flautas were amazing and the crème on top was perfection, The best food I’ve had since I’ve been in wimberley!!!“

“My best friend brought me to this neighborhood spot place as I love mezcals. The hostess greeted us with a smile and took us to the patio where the ambiance and interior is inviting taking you on an escape from Austin as if in another part of the world. The spirits selection is amazing. But this was just a simple night out to have an after dinner drink and a birthday dessert. What made a simple night into something extraordinary and awesome was the donning experience.

She greeted us with a warming smile and guided us through the cocktail menu. Recommending a a take on a penicillin which is my favorite go to, was served up not on the rocks and tasted amazing. She engaged great conversation with us that just felt real and genuine. She brought a piece of back home with the experience she brought to the table. Looking forward to the full dinner adventure for next time.
