“I had the omakase. and was disappointed with the fact there was a heavily fried dish of shrimp and corn that came out mid point of the experience. The sashimi was pretty good but, not too much thought was put into it. Other than the two kind of misteps my overall experience was amazing! the staff was helpful and the flavors were fun! I highly recommend the sesame mousse for dessert and the sea bass melted in your mouth and the soba noodles with the various dipping sauces were to die for ♡“

“Every dish was cooked to perfection.

It’s on the pricier side, even more expensive than most sushi omakases in Dallas, but the experience was beyond our expectations. I’m currently pregnant, and they were able to switch out the raw dishes for me to cooked alternatives with prior notice when I made the reservation. Chef Otaka steamed the uni in the dishes that he used uni, and he cooked my yakitori skewers a little longer. We really appreciate the attention to detail.

The Korean couple next to us told Chef Otaka they went to Japan recently and got a reservation at a highly sought after yakitori restaurant there, but they thought Mābo’s yakitori was better. Every bite they took, they would say how delicious it was in Korean.

What’s unfortunate, though, is that the 8:30 PM seating was only half full, which was surprising given that the restaurant accommodates just eight guests. Maybe Dallas isn’t ready for yakitori omakase yet, but we felt like we were in Japan. We loved it!“

“Came across this hidden gem when my Japanese wife was craving for nabeyaki udon! All the dishes from agedashi tofu, nabeyaki udon to hand rolls were executed well, and most importantly the staff were so kind and attentive. I'll definitely come here again.“

“Great local sushi, maki, and INARI spot in Dallas! I had never tried inari before (imagine a sushi roll in a cooked tofu wrap). It was really good! Lots of fun to try creative new dishes, and they were great to share! We really enjoyed our meal and look forward to coming back again!

It’s all bar/ high table seating indoors. Outdoors they have a nice patio with good shade. The tables on the patio are typical height tables and there are also a few lounge chairs to sit in.

The vibes are solid, the food is great, service is fine and everyone is nice but nothing outstanding (although maybe I’m being critical, they did give me a free sample of a new dish without me asking)! I am a huge fan of the fresh fish + mango combo and the Mango roll did not disappoint! Haven’t found any rolls in the area yet besides Maji that nail the sweet/umami taste like theirs. Fish is fresh which is always important. I don’t remember what other rolls I tried but none of them were bad. Prices are ok, I think fair given the quality of the sushi. I came once with a friend last month and have already been back twice for takeout!“

“Great spot for poke!! If you like poke you know sushi rice is essential. Most poke places I’ve found lack this essential quality, but poke sushi roll has great tasting sushi rice. I’ve only gotten their poke bowls and have not been disappointed. I always get their salmon and tuna in my poke and love it! They have great options for toppings and isnt bad on the wallet either We got 5 poke bowls for ~$80. Definetly my new go-to poke spot!“

“Delicious “fireside cooking” or Robatayaki in which items of food on skewers are slow-grilled over hot charcoal. Liver, hart, tongue etc. the fresh items, Sashimi and Sushi are excellent as well. Wonderful services from owner and her staff. Sushi chef’s are excellent prepared sushi at the bar. Love cozy atmosphere as well.“

“I came here to kill some time while my sister was in class. I ate their spicy miso, gyozas, and a slice of cheesecake. The whole time I was able to vibe, watch videos, and enjoy a quiet atmosphere. Really the music playing in the background was the perfect volume, and the staff were all so very nice. I will definitely be back!“

“Absolutely loved this spot. The setting is super casual but also very chic at the same time. The entrance reminds me of a classic New York style restaurant and the level of food and service do all the talking.

The sashimi and fresh sushi are top quality with little elements of elevated taste. The seared salmon and the red snapper are my absolute favorites and I would highly recommend the Philly style wagyu roll. Subtle but obvious when you taste it.

The Japanese whiskey old fashioned. Was a highlight for me. The infusion of the smoke comes with an amazing creative element that I recommend ordering directly at the bar to watch the creation of those classic cocktail.

Next time I visit I will be sitting at the sushi bar to take in the coordination of the chefs and watch this beautiful artistry of my favorite cuisine on earth.“

“This was our first time at the Unbelievable Bowl on Retail road off of Skillman Ave. We loved it. The price of $9.95 for a large bowl is great we got a chicken terreyake bowl the included rice, veggies, and an egg plus the meat. The bowl was a great deal. The customer service was good. “I went to this restaurant with a colleague and a business partner. Fawn the owner and head chef came out and offered us some of her amazing cucumber salad and potato sticks (10/10). She also offered us some of her favorite wine (Hall, also 10/10). Her husband Alan was amazing as well and shared with us some of his favorite Japanese whiskey (10/10). Anthony was a great server and I would absolutely recommend asking for him as your server. The atmosphere is amazing and you will have the best time ever. This place is very amazing and it’s going to be the best meal that you can whisk for in Dallas! Again 10/10!!“
