“Poke Burrito!! Haven't seen this anywhere else and it's so delicious to have a giant sushi roll basically ? They use a giant nori to wrap it. My son loves the kids Hawaiian bowl, but swaps chicken for salmon with no onions. They have musubi too. Prices are good and they have a rewards program too.All the places in The Block are great. The vibe is fun. Plenty of options.Kid-friendliness: Kids options even if they don't want fish“

“One of my favorite Halal Platters spot in the DMV. Just got hip to it last night and ate half my food and got full then the other half was finished by my bro before I could wake up the next day. The chicken was on point and the white sauce and bbq sauce are really good and flavorful. Highly recommend. Just got it again for a second day back to back ?“

“I hosted my Brother’s 40th birthday party this past weekend at Carlyle! I planned this party from the Hampton Roads area, which is not local. Morgan and her team were there to answer questions for me and made this the BEST experience! I had tried booking other places for this event and everything was SO complicated or expensive. I’m so thankful for the previous people who left reviews about the food because it made Carlyle an EASY choice !The atmosphere here is ELEGANT and WARM at the same time. I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better restaurant for this party. The party guests loved their meals ! (Please try the Crab CAKES OMGOSH!!)We CLEANED our plates ! Do you hear me?!!! The food was SO good! Everyone had smiles on their faces and the service was EXCELLENT! Our servers were so respectful and responsive — we had a great time ! The good people at Carlyle made my Brother’s 40th birthday dinner one to remember! Thank you Morgan and Josue for working with me and making it easy ! I WILL be back !! ❤️❤️❤️“

“Banditos Tacos and Tequila was definitely a pleasant surprise. Despite it being a busy Friday night and not having a reservation, there was no wait for great booth seating - and the music was great. The Hamburger Nachos were scrumptious and were definitely shareable — the portion size was huge!! I went with the Quesadilla Marina for my main course & devoured it!! The Old Bay seasoned shrimp and cilantro claw were THE perfect combo with the Chihuahua cheese ?Our server was super duper attentive and checked in often to make sure we had enough water and also weren’t waiting to order anything else.“

“Great food and friendly service! I love to sit outside on the deck. They are able to accommodate those with special dietary needs. I need gluten free and dairy free. Gluten free buns are available upon request. GF buns need an extra few minutes to defrost the in the oven but it’s worth the wait. Or you can call ahead. I loved my lobster roll and the coleslaw too!Dietary restrictions: GlutenDairy“

“Our server was so pleasant and attentive. For our appetizer we got the calamari and it was some of the best I've ever had. Entrees were a bit hit or miss. The ribeye we ordered wasn't seasoned well, but the crabcake we got was the best I've ever had. Overall a great experience, though fairly pricey.“

“Thrilled to have found this place while attending a training conference nearby. I am not ashamed to say I came here for lunch every day of the week The good: the atmosphere is as good as it gets for a pub. Quiet lunch stop, Friendly staff a traditional pub menu great whiskey selection and a gorgeous mirror backed ornate wood bar display. I swapped between both the Reuben and fish sandwich all week and highly recommend either. The bad: My major complaint is that this place is too far from my house but it may be good enough that I start looking for new apartments in the area. This is what it is to the maximum degree if you are in the mood for an Irish pub I don't think you can do better.“

“The service has declined a little over the years, a trend which began even before COVID. But maybe we got spoiled. All GAR locations are still usually better than those in this price point and we go to this restaurant once or twice a month, so that ought to tell you something!“

“This hidden gem offers a delightful fusion of flavors that's as vibrant and colorful as a Mexican mural. This family-owned operation not only wins your heart with its super friendly staff but also caters to a symphony of dietary preferences, making it a haven for vegetarians, vegans, and those seeking halal options. The casual atmosphere, a playful blend of Mexican zest and Greek finesse, sets the stage for a dining experience that's both laid-back and lip-smackingly good.Diving into the menu is like embarking on a culinary world tour, starting in Mexico with the Vegan taco, a masterclass in flavor that proves you don't need meat to create a masterpiece. It's a plant-based delight that showcases the kitchen's knack for transforming simple ingredients into something extraordinary. The Mexican Pizza, a Wild Tacoz signature, is a flavor bomb. Imagine a 12" pizza that shuns the traditional crust for a double cheese-filled tortilla, creating a base that's as innovative as it is delicious. Topped with a protein of your choice and adorned with a medley of toppings including mild or spicy salsa, a three-cheese mix, tomatoes, onions, black beans, romaine, cilantro, and corn crumbs, it's a dish that dances on the line between genius and madness, landing squarely on the side of genius. Then, we set sail for Greece with the Gyro Burrito, a culinary hybrid that's as bold as it is delicious. Packed with rice, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, feta, and tzatziki, it's a wrap that wraps you in warmth and comfort, proving that when Mexico meets Greece, the result is nothing short of spectacular.Wild Tacoz is not just a restaurant; it's a testament to the power of family, fusion, and the universal language of delicious food. With every dish made to order, freshness is the name of the game, ensuring that each visit is as delightful as the last. In a world where fusion can sometimes mean confusion, Wild Tacoz stands out as a beacon of culinary creativity, blending Mexican flair and Greek elegance into a dining experience that's sure to leave you wild with joy.“

“My favorite place in the eisenhower area of Alexandria. Wonderful service and food. Great selection of asian beers and lovely cocktails. The fried tofu and kra pow bao appetizers are awesome. The thai iced tea is a great option for n/a. I have tried the red curry ramen (both non and veg and both are fantastic), the kaarage ramen, and gin ramen are wonderful too. The flavors are just right and all the dishes I have tried are not too heavy (well balanced.) The service whether its at the table or the bar is exceptional. The music (asian covers of popular songs) and ambiance are great as well. Highly recommend!“

“For appetizers- we ordered the burratta e funghi and also the foccaccia bread. Both were delicious. The highlight was the pizza! We were a party of 6 and tried three different pizzas, and all were delicious! We also tried both the gnocchi dishes (formaggi and sorrentina), they were ok. The best dish of all was the tiramisu! We liked it so much we had to order multiples. Friendly staff, good amount of parking..“

“Very good bar/vegan food. Prices seem all over with place, with some items overpriced and some quite cheap. Example: burger for $16, but a generous plate of eggplant fries + dipping sauces for $3. In total, it was about $30 for a burger, fries and a beer for one person. Maybe I’m just not used to DC prices, but it felt expensive. Good vegan food, though, and fast, friendly service.Vegetarian options: Full menu is vegan“

“Idk how I went so long having never tried Jets! I attended a football watch party at a friends house (they are from Detroit) and they ordered jets. One slice in and I knew I'd be a forever customer! Sure enough 2 weeks later I found myself in Jets picking up an order placed online. This is the BEST pizza in the area! It's thick and made with high quality ingredients! I will say the night I stopped in the physical shop it was packed! It was a Friday night, and the line extended down the entire shop and out into the parking lot. Even for those of us who had placed an order ahead of time they were running slightly behind getting those orders out so there was a lot of standing around. However, upon arrival, I simply told them I was there to pick up my order and they started working on it right away so that I could grab it quick-ish and head out. I was there for about 10 minutes? Note if you are placing an order online, be advised that the wait will be probably closer to 45 minutes and there's no need to come early because the pizza is not ready LOL. But trust me it's worth the wait and by the amount of customers there I can say that others agree.“

“Yum!! Stopped in Friday afternoon and got the Korean Fried Chicken bowl with the garlic sauce and rice and it was delicious! Even the coleslaw it came with was good (and I'm not someone who usually likes coleslaw). Chicken was tender and flavorful while the rice was decent, really enjoyed the sauce that seeped into the rice from the chicken. The coleslaw is a mayo base and almost had a sweetness to it too. Service was good and speedy. You order at the counter and you have to watch the number ticker at the front for your number as they don't really call out your number. There are tables inside as well as outside and the overall establishment was clean.“

“I saw this restaurant on Google maps while searching for a place to meet friends for dinner. It didn't fit what I had in mind. But intrigued I went there with my family and thoroughly enjoyed the food! We all thought the fresh ingredients, clever mixtures and exciting sauces were wonderful and ever so healthy. Their service was efficient but the atmosphere was sterile and noisy even almost empty...better for takeout.“

“Been here multiple times and happy to say that the food is still just as delicious as when we first came here over a year ago! I often avoid ordering spaghetti when I go to restaurants but this is the only place that my husband and I will race to see who gets to order the spaghetti (and not share). Last night we had the rigatoni as well and needless to say, no plate was left empty. The portions are perfect and service was equally as wonderful.“

“Probably the best deli in the area.Their prices are quite a bit higher than other sandwich shops in the area, but they use top quality cold cuts. (With a tip, I paid a little more than $30 for two sandwiches.)They still make almost all of the sandwiches that have been on the menu since the old days, but they're happy to make your sandwich to order if you prefer.Busy at peak lunch time, obviously, but it's been deserted when I've been there, a little later in the afternoon, around 2.The staff is very friendly. There are tables inside and out.“

“Ordered the forbidden rice bowl for delivery. Food arrived hot and smelled really good. Taste was bland, had to add a bunch of salt (the only "spice" available at the office) as there was almost no flavor. Was really disappointed to spend over $30 and have a less-than stellar meal from a restaurant I heard great reviews from.“

“Outstanding Thai, especially if you need spicy. We were celebrating multiple life events. The staff was welcoming and anticipated our needs. My only concern was the condition of the restaurant, the ceiling tiles were stained and sagging. Mom reported a sanitary & spotless ladies room.We ordered appetizers. The curry chicken appetizers were wrapped in a delightful flaky crust that melts in your mouth. My son ordered medium heat drunken noodles. The dish was hot, even for chili-phile and spice-iphile in our party! The seafood dish -found on the Pad Thai page -was loaded with shrimp, mussels, squid and scallops for $20! The courses arrived hot, together and quickly. The coconut chocolate chip ice cream was divine. Topped off the meal with Thai coffee and tea. All of this fairly price. All four of took home a doggie bag for a second meal.Parking: Free parking lot in the back of the building periodKid-friendliness: Family friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: the back of the building is not wheelchair accessible. “I LOVE Falafel Inc. foods -- especially their chicken shawarma wrap and seasoned French fries paired with any of the sauces available for dispensing -- but word is getting out about this place, their delicious foods, and bargain prices, which is great for them! A consequence of this is longer lines sometimes and less-than-organized ticketing system. On a recent visit, I waited about 30 minutes after ordering my food and never had my number called but saw those who ordered after me get their food orders for the same items I ordered. When I brought this up with an employee, their coworker produced my receipt/ticket from their back pocket o.O. Once they found my ticket, they promptly started making my order. So, if I never said anything, how much longer would I have had to wait for this employee to check their back pockets for my number?? So strange!“

“I went here on the recommendation of a friend. I've been to similar restaurants so I was familiar with the concept. They are located in an office building but in a good area. They take the dress code seriously. It's more of an upscale place. Nice ambiance. They were having a party in the back. The hostess and the servers very nice and accommodating. We went for lunch service and the food came quick once they started. The jalapeño beef, lamb, and garlic sirloin are things that really stood out. The other cuts were good but had minimal seasoning. The garden bar was sizable. Smoked salmon, Greek salad, beets, asparagus, etc. Oh try the grilled pineapple. Quite good and sweet. Overall a great place to try.“

“I feel that barbecue is subjective and kind of depends on your personal preference if you like it or not. My idea of good BBQ may not be yours. That being said... I LOVED this place. My brothers and I were in the area and one has been craving BBQ something fierce. Walking in, the place smells like heaven. We probably ordered way more than we should have because if we weren't hungry before, we definitely were when we smelled how good it smells here. We all ordered the pulled chicken sandwich, soda, cornbread and we each ordered different sides: baked beans and corn pudding, yucca fries and fried okra, and onion rings and macaroni and cheese. We also had a side of coleslaw to share since BBQ sandwich + coleslaw = perfection. You order at the counter, stop to gawk at the biggest selection of hot sauces I have ever seen for sale, grab your plastic ware and fountain soda, debate if you want pickled jalapeños, pickled onions, hot pickles, (hot pickles were AWESOME!!!!!) and then have a seat. They brought us the food pretty quickly and we dug in. We found their original BBQ sauce, found on the counter in a giant cauldron thing, a little too sweet and tomato-y for our likings (although I did enjoy digging the sweet marinated onions out of my cup of sauce, because those were great with the pickled onions and hot pickles), but they had a smoky and sweet one on the tables that we really liked. The onion rings were so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and tasted amazing. I dipped one in his macaroni cheese and that tasted pretty darn good too. The fried okra is a huge portion and is also perfectly fried. The yucca fries were also wonderfully crisp on the outside and soft on the inside and not at all greasy. The baked beans are a little savory and a lot sweet. The corn pudding is very soft and fluffy and tastes like a hush puppy without the hard exterior. The coleslaw is delicious. They add super crisp peas and carrots to the normal cabbage. More places should get on this because it adds sweetness and texture and it is fantastic!!!!! The cornbread is amazing! I have no idea how they make it so fluffy and moist but WOW. I may carry honey in my handbag in case there is ever cornbread and I have never been so happy about my weird tendencies because YES!!!!!!! The pulled chicken was juicy and tender and smoky and so good. The buns they use are perfect for standing up to the saucy goodness. We really wanted to try some of their pies and banana pudding, but we couldn't eat another bite by the time we left. The portions were very generous, you couldn't even close the bun around all of the chicken without it jumping ship. You definitely need a fork to scoop up all your fallen chicken, which is also how I like my BBQ... I really wish we lived closer to this place because it was delicious and I would probably feign being too tired to cook dinner at least once a week so we could come here.“

“Tom yum soup perfectly spicy and delicate. Green curry was spectacular. Eggplant was beautifully prepared, both texture and flavor! Standard (medium) was not especially spicy, but just left room for the rest of the flavors to shine. I only mention it, if you like spicy, you might want to ask for it. “I had high expectations from this place but was a bit underwhelmed by the food. To start off I got the curry wurst, which was really good. For mains, I got Jagerschnitzel. While the mushroom sauce in this dish was on point. the spaetzle in the dish was chunky rather than noodle like and was flavourless. To end things off, I got the apple strudel, which was soggy instead of flacky. It did taste decent but was definitely average. Overall, I would say the atmosphere is really good, service is good too but the food was average.“

“I’m a pizza snob, I’m owning it! A native from Chicago and I like to try pizza whenever I go. New York pizza is good, but this Extreme Pizza was amazing!!! Of course it’s not comparable to Chicago deep dish, so adjust your expectations but keep them high because Extreme’s pizza was delicious, fresh, hot, chewy crush and went all the way to the edge. Yes, I ate the entire individual pizza. Owning that too! It would be a shame if you were in Crystal City and didn’t stop here for a quick bite. Staff were great and price was good considering this is DC-area, so nothing else could beat great food, service and affordable!!! What else could you ask for! “So good!! I ordered through Uber Eats and everything was packed so well. I had the sinigang, bbq pork belly skewers, lechon kawali, and sisig. I'm very picky about sinigang but theirs is the best I've ever had! The skewers were delicious. The lechon kawali was so crispy even though it had to survive a 10 mile drive. The sisig was really good too! I usually prefer mine a little spicier and vinegar-y but it was still great. I love all the pickles that come with it too. My family never ate pickles with our meals growing up, but it makes so much sense since filipino food can be so rich.No frills, just tasty food. Portions were really good, especially for the nova area. Will definitely order again!“
