I got the lunch special, which comes with rice and beans and two tacos that are plenty enough to make you full. The carne asada was the perfect choice (I think it is carne asada but correct me if it is al pastor). I later got this $9 breakfast burrito- very good at good value.”

Friends chose a range of other dishes. I can guarantee whatever you choose, you won’t be disappointed. Everything is flavorful, fresh and beautifully presented. “This was a great authentic Cantonese restaurant. I have been a frequent visitor since their soft opening. It is a bit sad that they are slowly switching menu to accommodate broader tastes, e.g. by including American-Chinese food and adding Sichuan style dishes. This is understandable given the demographics of the neighborhood and the market demand, but I do notice that the quality fluctuates for some skill-sensitive Cantonese dishes (e.g. 干炒牛河). It is also disappointing that the chicken in 啫啫煲 has been replaced with boneless chicken, which again is understandable to accommodate customers who don't like bone-in chicken, but that's just not how this dish is supposed to be made.
On the flip side of the menu changes, I like that they have added the Typhoon-style Lobster and Peking duck (I don't actually know why in the US many Cantonese restaurant offer Peking duck; maybe as a simple variation of HK-style roast duck.).
Overall, I hope this restaurant will flourish while maintaining its authentic taste and high standards!”

Again, we ended up at a “safe” spot we like to visit. The food and service were good, but it was just our usual go-to. Fast forward to last week: my best friend from Puerto Rico came to visit with his family. He loves to eat, and his wife can be hard to please. This time, we decided to go to Sabores Tapas Bar. I’ll admit, I was nervous—I wanted them to have a great experience, but pleasing everyone is never easy. Finally, we went. What can I say? The food was amazing, and the service was just as incredible. It was so good we couldn’t stop eating. I had high expectations—growing up, my house was always full because my friends came over for my mom’s cooking. She’s an amazing cook. Let’s just say… the name fits. We kicked things off with the App Sampler—and every bite hit like a flavor freight train. Smoked wings so tender they felt like they’d just left the hog pen—crispy skin, juicy interior, absolute perfection. Burnt ends? It is also disappointing that the chicken in 啫啫煲 has been replaced with boneless chicken, which again is understandable to accommodate customers who don't like bone-in chicken, but that's just not how this dish is supposed to be made.
On the flip side of the menu changes, I like that they have added the Typhoon-style Lobster and Peking duck (I don't actually know why in the US many Cantonese restaurant offer Peking duck; maybe as a simple variation of HK-style roast duck.).

“Liya was very attentive despite being one of two personnel on the floor for what may have thought to be a 'quiet' and uneventful Sunday evening. Although not full, it was busy. The food was flavorful and cooked to your liking. You have the option to sit on the rotating floor or not, which is good for folks that is very sensitive to motion sickness.”

“I came to Arlington for a business trip from Atlanta. I've been to the Ballston Food Court several times since I visit frequently. First time at Hal & Als and I ordered the brisket sandwich. the cashier who I assume is the owner was telling me about who he learned to make ribs from down in Atlanta. he was so hospitable too. he asked me to let him know what I thought. I completely forgot. everything was great. halal BBQ is a little different but it blew me away. I'll def revisit when I'm in Arlington again.”

I know pizza and this takes the cake for northern virginian locations, prices are not bad I got their version of a meatlovers slice for 6.00 not bad.. “My family and I were in the neighborhood, and I was in the mood for an iced coffee beverage. A quick google search revealed several places in the Ballston area and after parking near a playground we turned the corner and happened upon a little cart. Turned out to be Ballstonian Urban Patisserie. Not only was the gentleman who ran the cart the most humble and friendly human being I have ever met, but his description of the Iced Turkish Chocolate Cafe Mocha with a blend of several spices sounded intriguing. I ordered a couple since the wife was in tow and it turned out to be one of the best life decisions I have ever made.
Think chocolate with cardamom, cinnamon, honey, ginger and paprika amongst other things. If heaven was a coffee cart this was it.
I walked back over after we finished playing with my son on the playground to shake his hand and let him know that that was the BEST iced coffee drink I have ever had. The spice on the back end alone was enough but the combination of flavors was straight up outer space. I am a true fiend for coffee, and I will drive back down soon in the future to grab another.
BTW he thanked me with a firm handshake, and several thank you's, but also gave me a free half cup of the iced mocha.

“We were very pleasantly surprised and impressed by this place! Saw it many times but always passed by for some reason . It was a big mistake I wish we discovered it earlier! Super cool atmosphere , eclectic modern Japanese / Hawaiin vibe with a lot of taste , beautiful fun bar and the tables around the bar area and also very charming and cosy main dining room with an intimate exotic atmosphere . But on top of it we had absolutely amazing , so fresh and delicious sushi rolls and a live bossa nova jazz (which is there every Friday as we found out) . And if you are a whiskey or bourbon lover - definitely try Kaiyo 5 woods whiskey! It has such a smooth and elegant taste , our first time trying Japanese whiskey and we were in love! All the sushi were consumed so fast that we didn’t even had a chance to take a picture )))) Our new favorite place in Arlington for sure!”
