In short, I came in just looking for a quick lunch, and left feeling like I just had a Michelin-star dining experience. It was, you could say, Surreal. I highly recommend this place.”

I got the lunch special, which comes with rice and beans and two tacos that are plenty enough to make you full. The carne asada was the perfect choice (I think it is carne asada but correct me if it is al pastor). I later got this $9 breakfast burrito- very good at good value.”

There is a pleasing range of mezzes, salads, entrees hot and cold, flat breads, spreads, etc . I had a Yayla mule, 3 spreads, lemony rice soup and superb shrimp. Friends chose a range of other dishes. I can guarantee whatever you choose, you won’t be disappointed. Everything is flavorful, fresh and beautifully presented. “This was a great authentic Cantonese restaurant. I have been a frequent visitor since their soft opening. It is a bit sad that they are slowly switching menu to accommodate broader tastes, e.g. by including American-Chinese food and adding Sichuan style dishes. This is understandable given the demographics of the neighborhood and the market demand, but I do notice that the quality fluctuates for some skill-sensitive Cantonese dishes (e.g. 干炒牛河). It is also disappointing that the chicken in 啫啫煲 has been replaced with boneless chicken, which again is understandable to accommodate customers who don't like bone-in chicken, but that's just not how this dish is supposed to be made.
On the flip side of the menu changes, I like that they have added the Typhoon-style Lobster and Peking duck (I don't actually know why in the US many Cantonese restaurant offer Peking duck; maybe as a simple variation of HK-style roast duck.).
Overall, I hope this restaurant will flourish while maintaining its authentic taste and high standards!”

Fast forward to last week: my best friend from Puerto Rico came to visit with his family. He loves to eat, and his wife can be hard to please. This time, we decided to go to Sabores Tapas Bar. I’ll admit, I was nervous—I wanted them to have a great experience, but pleasing everyone is never easy. Finally, we went. What can I say? The food was amazing, and the service was just as incredible. It was so good we couldn’t stop eating. I had high expectations—growing up, my house was always full because my friends came over for my mom’s cooking. She’s an amazing cook. “I’m going to post the same review I gave on Yelp - this is a 5 Star place! After a day in DC, my family decided to try Soul Thai on our way home. What a terrific Experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was some of the best Thai we have ever had. The Pad Thai was amazing. The Hang Over Noodles (Drunken Noodles) was exceptional. And the red curry was by far the best I’ve had in the area. The ambiance was quite pleasant as well. Initially we were sat in an area that was a little noisy for our taste, but they graciously moved us to a much quieter section. The owner, Nancy came over after our meal and was very appreciative of our comments on the meal. “This was a great authentic Cantonese restaurant. I have been a frequent visitor since their soft opening. It is a bit sad that they are slowly switching menu to accommodate broader tastes, e.g. by including American-Chinese food and adding Sichuan style dishes. This is understandable given the demographics of the neighborhood and the market demand, but I do notice that the quality fluctuates for some skill-sensitive Cantonese dishes (e.g. 干炒牛河). It is also disappointing that the chicken in 啫啫煲 has been replaced with boneless chicken, which again is understandable to accommodate customers who don't like bone-in chicken, but that's just not how this dish is supposed to be made.
On the flip side of the menu changes, I like that they have added the Typhoon-style Lobster and Peking duck (I don't actually know why in the US many Cantonese restaurant offer Peking duck; maybe as a simple variation of HK-style roast duck.).
Overall, I hope this restaurant will flourish while maintaining its authentic taste and high standards!”

And the red curry was by far the best I’ve had in the area. The ambiance was quite pleasant as well. I always clean up after him as toddlers can be messy and they insisted on letting them clean up (I did it anyway). “Cool place to try. It's not as upscale as I thought. The menu is small but the food was good. Parking was a nightmare. I would say allow 30-40 min to find a spot. It's a run around trying to find the restaurant within the hotel. They need signs! Definitely pricey but worth visiting at least once.”

Yes. There’s even a bottle where you can get more of the sauce. The Coke machine was out of order, but there was a drink cooler full of everything you could need.”

“My family and I were in the neighborhood, and I was in the mood for an iced coffee beverage. A quick google search revealed several places in the Ballston area and after parking near a playground we turned the corner and happened upon a little cart. Turned out to be Ballstonian Urban Patisserie. Not only was the gentleman who ran the cart the most humble and friendly human being I have ever met, but his description of the Iced Turkish Chocolate Cafe Mocha with a blend of several spices sounded intriguing. I ordered a couple since the wife was in tow and it turned out to be one of the best life decisions I have ever made.
Think chocolate with cardamom, cinnamon, honey, ginger and paprika amongst other things. If heaven was a coffee cart this was it.
I walked back over after we finished playing with my son on the playground to shake his hand and let him know that that was the BEST iced coffee drink I have ever had. The spice on the back end alone was enough but the combination of flavors was straight up outer space. I am a true fiend for coffee, and I will drive back down soon in the future to grab another.
BTW he thanked me with a firm handshake, and several thank you's, but also gave me a free half cup of the iced mocha.

“We were very pleasantly surprised and impressed by this place! Saw it many times but always passed by for some reason . It was a big mistake I wish we discovered it earlier! Super cool atmosphere , eclectic modern Japanese / Hawaiin vibe with a lot of taste , beautiful fun bar and the tables around the bar area and also very charming and cosy main dining room with an intimate exotic atmosphere . But on top of it we had absolutely amazing , so fresh and delicious sushi rolls and a live bossa nova jazz (which is there every Friday as we found out) . And if you are a whiskey or bourbon lover - definitely try Kaiyo 5 woods whiskey! It has such a smooth and elegant taste , our first time trying Japanese whiskey and we were in love! All the sushi were consumed so fast that we didn’t even had a chance to take a picture )))) Our new favorite place in Arlington for sure!”
