“Did Saturday brunch at Coco B's and it was absolutely one of my favorite brunches in the entire DC area! The restaurant itself was very cool, turned what used to be whitlow's into a super nice vibe. Started with the guacamole and yucca fries for apps, both were awesome and a very sizeable portion size on the guac which was nice. Our group had several different meals including the breakfast burrito, avocado toast, hangover burger, and breakfast platter - we were all raving about each of our dishes, so good! The service was also amazing and brought all our items quickly and nailed every meal with any customizations we had requested. And we did the bottomless mimosas for $20 and they had a bunch of different fun flavors for us to get, and the staff was super on top of the refills, taking care of us whenever we were getting low/empty! Definitely will be back to this new spot, especially when the weather warms up and the roof opens! Can't wait!“
“The service at this restaurant is exceptional, from the moment you walk in to the very end. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that their customers are taken care of, earning a solid 10/10 rating with service. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with soft lighting and a simple yet classy interior design spread out over two levels. We tried a variety of cocktails and starters, including cassava fritters, pork paw, and jerk wings - my personal favorite. Other starters such as Aloo and Channa Pies and Callaloo soup were also delicious. For my entree, I opted for the oxtail with coconut rice and plantains, although it was tasty, I have had better oxtail elsewhere and found the flavor to be a bit underwhelming.Overall, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try as the service and ambiance alone make it worth the visit.“
“Ridiculously good. Lively, super fun, delicious food, friendly staff and super busy. I'd be here every month if I lived closer. Visited from out of state and a friend suggested we go. We went last minute, we didn't have reservations and it was a 45 min wait. Absolutely worth the wait. Loved it.“
“I tried the curry wings and ?️GOOD LAWWWWWDY MY LEGS GOT WEAK‼️ That HOMEMADE sauce will introduce you to LOVE! If you haven’t, this place is definitely worth a try. This spot is like the song you skipped and later found out it was fire?. When you bite into the wings you get a bold boost of flavor that rhythms through your body. Then we get to the spicy part that’s spicy but still enjoyable! Please Support Bleu Iguana, ITS WORTH YOUR TIME AND BELLY! ???“
“Whether you're craving classic Jamaican jerk or want to brunch out on curry, Negril is the place for real deal island flavor. Be sure to order their Sorrel Hibiscus/Ginger drink, it’s delicious and perfectly accompanies your meal. Negril is an absolute gem for those craving a delicious taste of Jamaica without leaving town. Highly recommended!“
“Great Authentic Trini bread, food, pastries and drinks. Love everything. I live far away but go at least once per month to pick up my goodies: 2 butter bread, 2 currants roll, 2 slices of cassava pone, 3+ beef patties, 3+ aloo pies, 3+ doubles with all the fixings, etc. Trevor and his wife are great hostesses and the staff are friendly and hospitable.Parking: 1st come 1st serve street metered parking. 4 - 5 spots“
“Had a Jamaican Pattie once over 20 yrs ago and it made a huge impact on me then. You can taste the heat from the scotch bonnet which at the time, was the most delicious and spiciest thing I had had ever. Today’s brought back those memories. We also ordered the chix curry and oxtail stew, which all came in perfectly made. This might just become our weekly lunches delivery staple!“
“Delicious and very friendly service! I had jerk chicken (spicy) which came with rice & beans, cabbage, plus I ordered a side of plantains and a bottle of sorrel (hibiscus/ginger drink). All were excellent. I was going to try a seafood dish but those are made fresh to order and take about 20 min whereas the other dishes come out immediately. Next time I'll have to order ahead for fish! btw I accidentally dropped a tip in a coffee mug and Andrene was very gracious about it! ☺️“
“I stopped by this bar on a Saturday night and the atmosphere and vibes were amazing, 2nd floor was a cool lounge area and the bartenders were on point especially JC! His energy and attentiveness was great as-well as the food and drinks recommended were 10/10. He recommended a Smokey old fashioned which was delicious as-well as the Jerk chicken which went CRAZY. I will definitely be back for the food and drinks and especially for the bartender JC!!“
“It's carry out & delivery only place. Menu is basically 5 main platters with choice of chicken, goat or fish (shrimp).Tried Curry chicken with side rice & steamed cabbage. Portion is good with plenty of flavor. Pricewise, with tips it will set you for $20.Recommend: curry crazy - if willing to experiment, goat. Steamed cabbage as side.Parking: On street & behind the place, but busy.“
“This restaurant came highly recommended. I called in my order, had to pay for call-in when placed. The young lady on the phone told me 20 minutes but I waited close to 40 minutes. When I got my food which was a jerk chicken dinner, I was not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious with nice portion size. I could tell the food was made with love and quality ingredients. The young lady who was bagging the order did it with such care. So was it worth paying for it over the phone and waiting an additional 20 minutes, yes it was worth it to receive food of good quality and handle with care. I understand the wait when you are given delicious fresh food! Well done Ms. Ruby, I will let me coworkers know about this spot!“
“Wow. Amazing flavor. The jerk chicken was mind blowing smoky goodness and paired perfectly with sweet habanero sauce. Everything else was excellent - rice and peas, cabbage stir fry, candied yams, collard greens, reggae rice, fried plantains, and porridge.“
“I've only had problem with food from Jam Dugie one time, all the rest 99% of the times have been great. Once you start to eat it, it's hard to stop for leftovers. They can be slow at times and get backed up. But what good Caribbean place isn't?“
“First off, Dave the owner and his beautiful wife are AMAZING people‼ They always treat my husband and myself like family. Now, for the food. My favorite on the menu is the Jamaican Jerk Ribs (served on weekends only), Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese. The flavor is sooooo delicious and reminds me of true, authentic Jamaican food (because it is). The meat falls off the bone...it's just that good and flavorful. The other dish I like is the Oxtail. OMGosh‼ The flavor makes my mouth explode with deliciousness‼ The food is not only good, but it's consistent each and every time we eat there. That's the big difference between Jammin Island BBQ and other restaurants...consistency!If you want some good, authentic Jamaican food, I highly recommend Jammin Island BBQ‼‼Thanks for the AWESOME food Dave‼“
“The place has some of the best food in the area, no doubt about it. Some of my favorite at the cassava leafs and the brown stew chicken. It is a Caribbean inspired business so. The snappy attitude at Caribbean restaurants infuses a delightful sass into the dining experience, adding a burst of vibrant flavors. While they may occasionally forget your drink, it only adds to the charm, turning every visit into a memorable adventure.“
“I've been eating at Caribbean Grill since I was a kid in the 90s, and it's still one of my favorite places! I've never had anything here I didn't like, but the chicken burritos (pollo a la brasa with black beans, rice, tomatoes, and onions) are my old standby. The saltenas are also wonderful. The yellow sauce is the best around! Fast food prices but so much better!“
