“My friends and I had a fantastic time indulging in multiple rounds of Lemon Drop Martinis, along with delicious appetizers like cornbread and wings, followed by a delightful dinner. Our server was exceptional, making the evening even more special as we celebrated my friend's birthday. To our surprise, they treated my friend to a complimentary glass of Prosecco adorned with a birthday candle. We couldn't resist sharing our entrees, which included smoked brisket meatballs, pan-roasted shrimp, and fried catfish, all of which were incredibly tasty. The portions were generous enough for sharing, and the fried catfish was simply the best we've ever tasted, prompting us to order some to take home. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for a cozy evening with friends or family!”

“We’ve had phenomenal meals, drinks, and service here. We’ve also had underwhelming experiences on all counts here, including our most recent visit. Service here is typically stellar but last week it took 20 minutes to be greeted by our server once seated, and then another 20 after ordering drinks to receive those. This was at 8 pm on Wednesday night when they were not overly busy. My husband’s pasta was very undercooked and the sauce was just OK. My fish was fine but it’s the only main on their menu that someone who is gluten sensitive and avoids red meat (and the fish is served on rice with sausage) can have. So despite an often changing menu, this fact never seems to change. We’ll almost certainly go back and try again but do wish their hits outnumbered their misses.”

I requested a specially prepared curry vegetable dish, and the chef/owner was happy to create it for me. Several of our party enjoyed tikki masala with chicken. We also enjoyed lentils, cooked to perfection and wonderful chocolate lava cake for dessert. The service was impecable. Our waiters were so attentive and responsive, even though it was a very busy night. The ambience was warm and classy. The chef/owner was so gracious and even visited us at our table. I can't wait to return to CIC.”

“I have been twice now and both times the food was great. The view is outside is gorgeous btw. Now as for the food the menu is a variety of dishes themed from different parts of the world. It honestly doesn’t matter what you get it’s going to be delicious. If it’s on the menu when you go I highly recommend the Georgian flatbread, the bao buns, the chorreadas, or the cachapas!”

“Caught up with an old friend I hadn’t seen since around ’95/’96 over lunch on 6/17/2025. I’m not usually a downtown Richmond person—city crowds just aren’t my thing—but I’m really glad he suggested this spot. I made the drive from King William, and it was absolutely worth it! The food was fantastic, and the laid-back atmosphere made it the perfect place to reconnect. I had the pork carnitas with a Caesar side salad—super flavorful, and the pork was incredibly tender. The Caesar dressing? Easily one of the best I’ve ever had. I’d love to know if it was homemade or store-bought, because I need it in my life! Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a relaxed and cool meeting spot. I’m already planning to explore more RIC gems soon!”

“What a spectacular find! We are out of towners and made a reservation about a week in advance so it was easy to get a spot and we were seated right away. The food is next level and so are the drinks. We shared a tomato and steak tartare for appetizer that was 10/10. I had the Beef Swellington and my wife had the lamb with dumplings. Both were 11/10. Dessert was unbelievable too. The only 'but' is that, being new to the area, the neighborhood felt a bit sketchy and we had to park a couple of blocks away. It's ignorant bias, I'm sure, and we felt perfectly safe. It's just that it did not feel like it was on a super curated touristy area. We'll be back for sure. Many times.”

Our server was Elliott, she was great. Knowledgeable, funny, and told us what Trouvaille meant ...lucky find. And it lived up to that. I had a mocktail, it was pretty good. As a person who loves wine and on a break, I needed something to give me the vibe of having a drink but not really having it. Anyhoooo, we had the cauliflower appetizer. It was a variety of textures and flavors that went so well together. It was crispy, the black bean puree was unexpectedly good with the flavor of curry and pickled shallots. We both ordered the braised short ribs. Today was the first time I have had kimchi and it didn't disappoint. There was a fair amount of ginger and whatever else pickled. The crispy rice was great, I wanted more. For the star, the short rib...fork tender. Amazing flavor. This dish is served in a bowl and it's cool for me because I literally could get a bite of everything at once. It was amazing. Everything was very fresh. I'd go back. We also got there before 5 and there was no wait which was great for an early date. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for something new.”

“On 08/03/2022, my wife and I brought our cousins here to celebrate their 50th anniversary. The food and service was excellent. Our waiter was Sean. HOWEVER, during the reservation process, I was asked at least twice if there was a celebration and if so what type. I indicated on both occasions that it was a anniversary. I just assumed that when I was asked about the occasion that this occasion would somehow be acknowledged. It wasn't. (Happy anniversary). I heard the waiter at the table next to ours wish the celebrants a happy anniversary. Also, based on other reviews on this site, I noticed that a dessert was given to the celebrants as a memento. Not to our party. As I said, the service and food were excellent but missing the little "happy anniversary" left me and my wife feeling a little empty.”

I was right. So my mom and my pops came to town and wanted to have dinner, with me and my partner. After politely asking us recommendations and subtly dodging each place my partner and I mentioned. Clearly, everyone has found out about it because it's busier every time I go—and I almost always run into someone I know. But there's still plenty of seating. High-quality coffee and food, great atmosphere, and you're supporting a local small business.”

“Ist time customer- Ordered from DoorDash and I'll definitely order from this restaurant again. The Steamed Pork Bun has a nice flavor and the bun was soft but firm like it should be. The Steamed Veggie Bun was very tasty. The filling for that is like eating the filling of a veg eggroll. Both of the above buns were perfectly steamed! The Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings were my fave- so yummy, juicy, and just a great flavor. I would have liked a variety of sauce options instead of the same dipping sauce for the buns & dumplings to jazz things up a bit, but this was a really nice dining experience. Pretty traditional in terms of the sauce. The site is not allowing me to post pics with this review but the filling was pretty generous in both buns as well as in the dumplings. The Chicken Soup was just ok- it's missing a little something, maybe just needs some seasoning.”

I placed a large order just 30 minutes before closing—four chicken sandwiches, a 20-piece chicken tender meal, and their amazing honey biscuits—and everything was fresh, hot, and made to order. That kind of care and quality, especially so close to closing time, really impressed me. The food? Top-tier. The chicken sandwiches were perfectly crispy and flavorful, and the tenders were juicy with a golden crunch. “My friend and I went for lunch today at Lulabelles, the food was delicious. We had a $20 gift certificate to put towards a $36 bill and gave our server a $20 tip which seemed to be quite generous. Barely offend you that she whisked what was left on our table away, then returned a couple of minutes later to rather abruptly tell us that they had reservations coming in on the next half hour, the implication being that we had best get out of there. I have worked with the public all of my life, and I know there is a way to communicate, she needs to learn it. I only wish we had our $20 back!”

“We've been going across town to the Broad Street location for years, but live in Midlothian. We were so happy when they told us they were opening up a sister location in Chesterfield, just 7 minutes from Midlothian! We were NOT disappointed! The place was packed, yet we were seated, offered drinks, asked about ordering, and receiving our food all in a very timely manner. And, just like the other location, the food was sooooo tasty! My apologies to the Broad Street location, but I'll probably eat here more than there.”

“My family and I took my Mother there for her 91st birthday. In all there were 14 of us. The staff took great care of us. We ordered from the brunch menu. Everyone one of us had a wonderful time. The food was tasty, chef (AJ) even came out to say Happy Birthday to his Grandmother! Several of us said we will return again. The dinner menu looks amazing I wanted to stay for dinner but I had to head home and I was too full from brunch. I wish Sweet P's much success!”

There are so many Japanese touches everywhere for those eating inside at their limited seating & those ordering to go. The selection was simple - mostly Japanese rice balls with various types of fillings for everyone to find something you'd like. I highly recommend the spicy tuna if you can handle some spice, but two onigiri are just right to be filling for a simple lunch. I can't wait to stop by for some more rice balls the next time I'm in the area!”

Princess enjoyed the brisket. The meats were smoked to perfection. The sides were out of this world. The relish and sauces were superb. For my birthday they gave me a cupcake and hot off the smoker pork belly. The atmosphere was casual and relaxing. Soul music was playing as me enjoyed my birthday lunch. The staff was outstanding ... so friendly. I felt like I was eating with family. This is now my go to place for barbecue. Give it a try ... you will not be disappointed.”
