“A very nice experience today with nice service and nice ambience. I'm not a big sushi fan but there are many other nice options too here. 5 out of 5.“

“Nicely traditional, extremely busy, and almost perfect.
One hour before closing on a weekday we still had to wait almost 30 minutes. It's not the biggest restaurant and it's very popular. Definitely worth a try but it can get kind of expensive at almost 30 bucks per meal.
Kurobuta Oroshi Katsu: GET!
The pork is soooooo juicy it's some of the best tonkatsu you'll ever have. The sides are very fun to give it some contrast. Play around with the sauces on your pork and salad too
Katsu Curry: Skip
The pork itself is delicious as above but the curry missed its mark by so much.... I would have loved to give this restaurant 5 stars but this curry was so lack luster I just can't. It was quite plain and flat. We couldn't finish it.
Food: 8/10
Service: 6/10

“Foodies, this is a must try if you are ever in the area. Most sushi houses have a hard time getting Uni, but we had 4 dishes with fresh Uni in it. You won't regret it.“

“A fun and delicious Japanese food experience; the onigiri are the feature: I had mentaiko with cheese, it was something I couldn't have imagined, and it tasted amazing, the cheese was like a ballroom dress for the perfectly-seasoned roe. I also got the spam and egg musubi because I am incapable of not ordering spam musubi when it is an option. Lastly, the dashi ochakuze with shrimp tempura (I wanted salmon and salmon roe but they were out) was a new experience for me. It was so refreshing, and the secret star were the pickles that came with, hands down the best Japanese style pickles I've ever had. Love this place so much!“

“Maneki is an absolute gem in the International District and a must-visit for anyone who appreciates authentic Japanese cuisine and a truly special atmosphere. Stepping inside feels like a warm hug from the past – it's one of the oldest Japanese restaurants in the country, and you can feel that history.
We opted for a tatami room (highly recommend booking this in advance!), which made the experience even more memorable. Kicking off your shoes and enjoying a meal in that traditional setting is fantastic.
The FOOD! Oh my goodness, the food. We had an amazing spread! The sashimi platter was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented – a real highlight. The unagi don (eel rice bowl) was rich and flavorful, and the sukiyaki was so comforting and delicious. We also tried the takoyaki (perfectly crispy and savory) and the agedashi tofu, which was delicate and flavorful. Even the chicken wings and korokke were fantastic. Everything tasted like it was made with care and tradition.
Service was friendly and helpful, happy to offer recommendations. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and experience you get. This isn't some trendy, overpriced spot; it's the real deal.
Maneki isn't just a meal; it's an experience. It's a piece of Seattle history that's still serving up incredible food. Can't recommend it enough! Go, but definitely make a reservation. You won't regret it.“

“Tried out Sakana on a warm Friday evening and had a nice dinner! I want to highlight the excellent service and large food menu - both were greatly appreciated. Everything we received ranged from good to great, although I didn't adore my sushi deluxe order of nigiri. The shrimp tempura were especially good and I always love to see hand rolls available. It was pretty busy by the time we left so I'd recommend making reservations.“

“Best teriyaki in Seattle!
It was really nice to be greeted by a Korean owner!
I had beef teriyaki, and there was a lot of meat, salad, and rice, so it was like eating beef bulgogi wrapped in ssam.
The taste of home cooking in Seattle!“

“Living on 2nd Ave makes you forget theres restaurants on 1st and 3rd in Belltown. I always make a mental note to try this spot. Today is the day! The service was immediately a bit off. No mention of scanning the QR code on the table to order so I'm just sitting there for 20 minutes with water before I finally glance down on my own 😓. A bit strange, anywho, on to the food! Izakaya style portions are small but tasty. I tried a variety of yakitori dishes and loved them all. The standouts were the wagyu and miso beef skewers. So, so good! I will definitely return and still highly recommend this place, just hope they can be a bit more welcoming to first time visitors.“

“It is time for to review Mashiko after 15 years of enjoying great sushi and after one pandemic I am happy to say that my most recent experience dining at Mashiko was one for the history books. The Uni was amazingly fresh with that umami that it is hard to find anywhere else. The freshness and the flavors were to die for. I wish them the best and many more years of great sushi.“

“Just went there for the Gyudon and it exceeded my expectations. It was very delicious and on the spot. Down side is nothing to do with the restaurant but parking. It is hard to find a good parking spot. However will be coming back but probably picking up the food rather than dinning in.“

“We’ve tried several sushi omakase spots in Seattle, but Wataru stands out as the absolute best! The high-quality aged fish, perfectly seasoned rice, and creative flavor combinations made for an unforgettable dining experience. “My favorite poke place by far! The macaroni salad is not something I would have ever thought like bowls needed but it's the stuff dreams are made out of.

“Had this awhile back and had to have it again when I was back in town. Had the Katsu Curry this time which gave what I expected. The server (Yeong I believe) was super friendly and hospitable beyond what I expected! Perhaps he just liked us or we were a big group but he served us some complementary sides that were delicious. The fried gyoza was bomb. The whole place was decorated for Halloween. I hope to return to this place sooner than later.“

“Delicious, curteous, fast, and they offer sake flights. Very creative specialities, and the rolls are generously sized. They also clearly label where they use real crab and where they use imitation crab, which is a level of forthrightness I appreciate in a good sushi place.
Vegetarian options: Great vegan sushi rolls too.“

“Best Teriyaki by far. Chicken is fresh and has that crispy grilled flavor and salad dressing is Amazing, I rate it a 10/10I drive 20mins to come eat here. Recommend calling ahead of time for order as they do get busy. Also small little spot so not guaranteed a spot to sit.

“The folks running the place are really nice, the selection of convenience store goods is solid, and the food is good value. I didn't love the chicken teriyaki but it gets the job done for cheap and the cheese steak was everything I wanted it to be (within reason, not gonna have the same expectations at a convenience store in Seattle as I'd have at a cheese steak place in Philly or some wildly expensive yuppy popup that charges 25 bucks to nail a 10 dollar sandwich). I'm looking forward to trying the katsu and will update when I get around to it.“

“Holy moly guacamole! This might be my favorite thing I've eaten in all of downtown Seattle! The restaurant is tiny, more of a to go spot. Very busy during the lunch rush but they handled the crowd with ease. I got the bulgogi and teriyaki bowl which was immaculate. Everything is layered, meat on top, veggies in the middle and rice on the bottom...creating the perfect fusion of goodness. It was amazing. This will become a regular spot for me moving forward! A must visit!“
