“I gave the food a 3, some may have given it less, but the grill attendant was young and probably just needs a little more experience and confidence in large order circumstances. We had an 8 person group and we all ordered all at the same time. It was NOT bad, but we did have several of the steak orders that weren't cooked correctly. But again, you have to get your experience somewhere. I did however rate the food as highly as I did, and give the restaurant a 5, because if the service, cleanliness, staff attitude and atmosphere is any indication then I honestly expect the next visit we make to see improvement in the way the meat is tended and most likely from the same grill chef. We were not pestered but were still very well taken care of. Our drinks never ran dry, the food was very good and the cuts were definitely top quality. Our group in fact didn't notice we visited past closing hours and we never so much as got a tilted glance or dirty look. Like I say. If what I witnessed, on top of the quality of the cuts themselves, is any indication. I fully expect on our next visit to see my steak done perfectly. There will be another dining experience here, and you should give them a try.”

“SIMPLY THE BEST THERE IS!!! So let me begin by saying that I consider myself a Kringle authority. Having consumed them from every manufacturer of them in the State of Wisconsin since the 1970's. I've tried every maker of them out of Racine. I noted coming across Mike's Bake Shoppe on the internet and found it hard to believe they would potentially be the best or even different from others in Wisconsin. Well let me begin by saying that after receiving my first Kringle order of a Cherry and a Blueberry Cream Cheese Kringle my assessment is as follows. * Texture. Simply in another league. O&H and Larson's can't even come close. It's denser and more flavorful. Most importantly as well is that Mike's uses BUTTER not the sick and annoying margarine which is a molecule away from being plastic. Sad that this day and age ANY credible baker would use such poison. So the flavor and texture is another league * Filling. The cherrys were from Seacrest Farms in Door County famous for their cherries. And indeed you get entire cherries, not the tiny chopped up bits and pieces you'd get from O&H and others. The flavor is simply outstanding and the real deal, not chemically made up like the others and there's a LOT of it no skimping here. * Frosting. Mike's frosting is most obviously handmade NOT out of some container like the others. It adds that sweet character which is not overwhelming. A perfect mix and once again genuine not fake like the others. * Helping or Physical Size. It was immediately obvious that the physical helping or size of the Kringle was perhaps at least 30% larger then all other competition. So the value for it's price is undeniably superior. In the end Mike's deserves the term as the FINEST Kringle available anywhere. I don't see anyone coming close let alone using the best ingredients without seed oils and crappy margarine and such. From now on it's MIke's or nothing for me.”

“It was my hubby and I’s anniversary. A snowstorm came through. They called to confirm we still wanted our reservation and I told them we did unless they wanted to close early. That we could either come in early or cancel it because I didn’t want them to feel like they needed to stay open. They were staying opened! The bartender greeted us and wished us a Happy Anniversary. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and romantic but that also could be that it was just my hubby and I, the bartender and the waitress. Our waitress was super nice and also wished us happy anniversary. She checked in with us periodically and chit chatted a bit but also gave us our privacy which is hard to do in a quiet restaurant. It really felt like we rented the entire place out. The drinks were delicious. My hubby had barrel aged old bourbon old fashion and I had a the gimlet they advertised but with vodka. The food was phenomenal. I got the ribeye and my hubby got the French dip. We also got cheese curds and they’re definitely one of the better cheese curds we had. Their house made ranch was amazing. My hubby also ordered the Beast burger to go so he can eat it later. As we where finishing up some people came in that you could till are regulars and still kept the cozy vibe. We will be back. Every time I go there I find a new favorite on their extensive menu. The daily specials are so delicious. The BBQ Ribs cannot be beat. From the greeting at the door the minute you walk in until the cashier makes sure you had a great meal, before you leave, you will not be disappointed.”

Kid-friendliness: One of the most friendly places I’ve actually went to and people care about the kids but at the counter, I did see someone who was completely ignoring the job and was calling her mother/friend to see when she was gonna get picked up and at the trampoline section there was the worker playing with the kids, but still doing a job which is very good. Also, I recommend going around the back of Chuck E. Cheese because there is toddler sized games and activities

“SIMPLY THE BEST THERE IS!!! So let me begin by saying that I consider myself a Kringle authority. Having consumed them from every manufacturer of them in the State of Wisconsin since the 1970's. I've tried every maker of them out of Racine. I noted coming across Mike's Bake Shoppe on the internet and found it hard to believe they would potentially be the best or even different from others in Wisconsin. Well let me begin by saying that after receiving my first Kringle order of a Cherry and a Blueberry Cream Cheese Kringle my assessment is as follows. * Texture. Simply in another league. O&H and Larson's can't even come close. It's denser and more flavorful. Most importantly as well is that Mike's uses BUTTER not the sick and annoying margarine which is a molecule away from being plastic. Sad that this day and age ANY credible baker would use such poison. So the flavor and texture is another league * Filling. The cherrys were from Seacrest Farms in Door County famous for their cherries. And indeed you get entire cherries, not the tiny chopped up bits and pieces you'd get from O&H and others. The flavor is simply outstanding and the real deal, not chemically made up like the others and there's a LOT of it no skimping here. * Frosting. Mike's frosting is most obviously handmade NOT out of some container like the others. It adds that sweet character which is not overwhelming. A perfect mix and once again genuine not fake like the others. * Helping or Physical Size. It was immediately obvious that the physical helping or size of the Kringle was perhaps at least 30% larger then all other competition. So the value for it's price is undeniably superior. In the end Mike's deserves the term as the FINEST Kringle available anywhere. I don't see anyone coming close let alone using the best ingredients without seed oils and crappy margarine and such. From now on it's MIke's or nothing for me.”

“I always shop this store but am very disappointed lately. The hot food area is only open from 11:00 Am till 2:00 Pm it used to open till at least 5:00 PM. Anyone who works out cannot go there after work to get supper. And some days the food is dried out and old it is not taken care of. The east side used to be open later, but they have been down for over 3 weeks. Besides the hot food area, the store is a great place to shop. We have talked about going to Festival Foods and try their hot food area.”
