“The food is delicious, so it kind of makes up for everything else we experienced. My family of 3 arrived between 7:30 and 8 pm, and we had to wait about 10 minutes before being seated. There were tables available, but the bus boy just had to clean them. Our waitress was pretty forgetful with our order, and made up excuses for her mishaps during dinner service (evident excuses). I highly suggest getting the burnt ends & beef brisket when ordering from here. As I said, the food made up for my opinion on our first experience here because it was worth the wait, the forgetting of our drinks, and the wet table we were sat at.“
“Coming from the south, I have been looking for great bbq for almost a year now. This is definitely the best I have found in the Milwaukee area! Their pulled pork, burnt ends, and even their shrimp and grits were to die for. ALL of their sauces were amazing as well! However, the brisket was well over cooked and not much flavor at all. No bark, no juice, and was like eating a tender piece of jerky. BBQ is not a Midwest thing I have come to find out, but other than the brisket this is the closest you are going to get around here! All the servers were great, and made excellent drink recommendations. The inside of the restaurant has a very "Nashville" feel, too. We will be back!“
“For a place open over 6 months I can't believe that I have the only review and pictures. I found this place when I parked in front of it for the West Allis car show and stopped by to look around for some pictures and I said that I would be back for some food at a later date and today was that day. It's in the basement of the Tanner Paul hall property with a bar, booths and tables. The menu is bar food with apps, sandwiches, pizza burgers, fish fry etc. I wanted to eat there but the game was on and people were yelling so it was noisy so I opted for take out. Some big alpha male made sure everyone in the place could heard him even in the kitchen.WOW I'm completely surprised at the bacon cheeseburger that I ordered with the $2 up charge for onion straws. I asked for a rare bacon cheeseburger to go which I wasn't expecting much because with all the food ordering around me absolutely no one ordered a cheeseburger, all regulars mind you. The bacon cheeseburger is bacon, beef patty, lettuce, red onion, cheese and tomatoes.WOW was my first impression of the onion straws because they were crispy/so tasty and seasoned nicely, just tasted them for the third time in hours as leftovers as a sample and they are so fu%king delicious, it's got to be the other food cooked in the fryer lending flavors because they are the most delicious onion straws I can remember. WOW was my impression of the bacon cheeseburger because it was cooked almost perfectly but it was take out with a juicy fresh hand formed beef patty that tasted like fresh beef. The bun was a fresh egg wash that was perfect. The toppings were fresh with thick crispy bacon. I'm completely surprised because the bacon cheeseburger with onion straws was really dam good for a place with no reviews or pictures besides me.Overall I'm completely impressed with the freshness of bacon cheeseburger lunch from such an unassuming restaurant/bar in a basement, good job.“
“We'd never been before so we got the King Kamehameha platter. Loved the Kalbi Ribs, Kalua Pig, Char Shu Chicken, and Portuguese Sausage. The pot stickers with the Chinese mustard sauce were also good. Garlic shrimp and Poke Tuna were alright. And the deserts were ok. The POG was also great. The staff were phenomenal. If we are in the area in the future, definitely will return.“
“Took myself out to breakfast for my birthday and I had to check out the all vegan cafe! I have been vegan for 7 years now and I have never found anything like this! I had a veggie scrambler and mango tango fusion smoothie and both items were so good! And then they brought me a slice of vegan chocolate cake for my birthday dessert. It was the sweetest and kindest gesture. I can’t wait to come back!“
“There were 6 of us. We each ordered something different. Every single dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. I brought food home because the portions are so generous. The prices are very reasonable. There is a nice, private patio in back for when the weather is clement. Highly “
“Absolutely a must for dining out! My son came in town to visit for the weekend and here’s our spread. Brisket, ribs, pulled pork, bbq shrimp, slaw, fries. Just get a sample of everything and you won’t be disappointed. Also great selection of sauces!! Pricey ?? A little….. but just treat yourself once in awhile “
“A very clean restaurant and the food is very delicious. People love to serve people and you feel that they are happy as they provide services to them. “Stopped by for a late lunch. Tables were clean and we ordered quickly. Two meat meal with brisket and pork was fantastic. Tried both sauces delicious. Fries were hot crispy and beautifully seasoned. Beans were especially great. Staff was welcoming. Definitely worth a stop! Keep up the good work!“
“I’ve been ordering from Chicken Man/Gianelli’s for over 30 years. My parents got it when I was a kid and I have been ordering since for my family! Great food for a reasonable price, which is not easy to find as much! But definitely great food and service!“
“I got a pineapple cake, a red bean cake, a red bean sesame ball, and half a duck. All of it was great! The filling in the cakes was plentiful and yummy and the sesame ball was just SLIGHTLY crunchy on the outside, just perfect. The duck had to be reheated in the oven but it was fantastic. There was half a duck head in the box, which didn't look too tasty so I did not attempt to eat it LOL.I rendered some of the skin with some onions and froze them. I'm thinking those onions will go inside of a baked good of some sort one day but we'll see.I'll be back!!!!“
“Maxie’s is one of our favorite happy hour or dinner spots. Drinks are top notch, oysters are as fresh as can be, food is authentic and homemade. I have yet to experience a host, bartender, or server who. Was not 100% friendly, happy, helpful, and fun! I cannot recommend this place enough! In fact, we usually take some extra gumbo to-go after dinner to enjoy for lunch the next day!“
“I purchased a Muskego Warriors Football discount card last Fall and Pop’s Pub is one of the restaurants listed so we thought we’d stop in and give them a try for lunch.Best decision ever!!! Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!!We were unaware that they do smoked meats- but as soon as you park your vehicle you can smell it- wonderful discovery!Don’t let the slightly run down front exterior detour you!! Inside is friendly and inviting and the staff is super welcoming. Out back is an entire outside area that we can’t wait to utilize in Spring ASAP.We got the 3:3 smoked meats. Brisket, pulled pork, bourbon chicken, baked beans, Mac and cheese, potato’s. All absolutely delicious!! Smoke was just right and the Texas BBQ sauce which is slightly sweet and the KC sauce which has a very slight kick were both super fantastic! Pickles were sweet dill an excellent complement to the smoked meats. Cannot wait to return!!!If you haven’t been- go now!!!“
“The ribeye I had wasn't very good. It was stringy & quite fatty. I also don't understand it being topped with onion rings with a side of au jus.The staff was awesome! They're very friendly & attentive even when it was busy.I will be returning very soon to give their ribs a taste. I'll keep you posted on that.“
“The food was surprisingly good. I am a very picky, walleye lover and they did a good job. Not too much breading or dry. I would have preferred to have a healthier option than chips, fries and coleslaw. My husband had a special, a Ruben and it was delicious.“
“Man, I've been to 48 states and ate at thousands of bbq joints and ain't nothing touch the slaw here hands down the best! And the ribs man I had to sit back in my chair and catch my breath whooo!!! Man get down here and see these people and eat this food !!! I'll be back !Kid-friendliness: They are super friendly“
“What a great experience. We celebrated a family birthday with a party of 9. Our waitress was fantastic. Very attentive. Anticipated our needs. We brought a cake. She provided a generous ice cream sundae for the birthday boy. Food was so good. Monster Burger was perfect. Plenty to split b/w two. Need knife and fork! Brisket baked potato was a delicious satisfying lighter option. Cheese curds were perfectly done.We will be back for happy hour.Location is easy on easy off I94.Parking: It was busy for a Sunday. Many people visiting museum store and restaurant. Parking was not an issue.“
“I have lived near this place my whole life and heard great things about the food. I am an avid bbq person, kinda particular on where I get it from because it is hard to find a good bbq spot here in the city.I can say that I was pleasantly surprised that the bbq tasted alright. Very smoky, which can be overwhelming to some. I like to taste the grilled flavor and the natural smokiness in my bbq meats and I got that flavor in the ribs. I ordered the ribs combo w/beans and potato salad, but they didn't have any salad so I had to get the slaw. I didn't so much enjoy the beans though. Everything else was fine. I would like to try something different from the menu, so I will return to do that. I waited about 30 mins to get my food, which is a long time, but it was around 9pm when I placed my order and only 1 person preparing the food, so I understand. Just had a taste for bbq and wanted to try Conways out!Overall nice spot, just come early and be prepared for the smokiness!“
“I haven’t been since maybe 2021. Food is still incredible!!Bbq Brisket fries with coleslaw on top. 2 cornbreads and a side of greens. For me, the fries were a whole meal. I didn’t make it to the greens and cornbreadMy 16 year old ate it all and loved it. Said it was quality food!!Yum-O!!!“
“Employees seem to actually care, food is very tasty. It would be 5 * if it was in a better location.I personally have had:RibsBrisketPulled porkSmoked chickenBolognaCole slawMac& cheeseBBQ beansCorn breadBrisket ChiliMy favorites meats are the pork and chicken. Their brisket is good, but mine is better ?. They often have special dishes like Frito pie. Their smokey sauce is my favorite.. perfect place for a late lunch.Parking: They have a very limited amount of parking spaces.“
“They are literally down the street from where I live and every chance I get, I go to them and get a rib tip dinner with a side of mac and cheese, baked beans, an an extra side of baked beans. The only time I have ever been disappointed is when I crave their rib tips and they’re closed.“
“Smoke Shack is definitely the place to come to, if you want to finish off that long work week. Even on nights that you just want to chill out, and have a beer or cocktail then you have to come here. As for the food, even though the main thing here is smoked meats. There’s still other options, for people that prefer a meatless meal. The platter/combo meal we ordered was enough to feed 3 people. Everything was good, but my only complaint would be. I wish the ribs were a little more tender.“
“Wow, I can't stop raving about this place! The moment I took a bite of their perfectly smoked brisket sandwich and cheesy, creamy mac and cheese, my taste buds exploded with joy. I'm still dreaming about that incredible combination of flavors. This place is a must-try for any foodie out there!“
“I'm VERY picky about my BBQ. I don't mess with Famous Dave's, Dickey's, etc. This is probably the best BBQ I've ever had. Genuinely can't recall a spot that is definitively better than Smokin' Jack's. I'm also not a big online review leaver. I'll word-of-mouth it all day...but actually remember to leave a review? And then take the time to actually write one? Nah. So that's saying a lot. Anyway, I can't eat BBQ TOO much because it is some pretty heavy stuff, but when I get a craving again, BEST BELIEVE I'm pullin' up for a two-meat combo DOUBLE BEANS.“
“Decent BBQ for the Midwest. Ribs were not very tender and lacked distinct flavor. Smoked chicken was good. BBQ sauce options were no better than Sonny's. Service and atmosphere were good. We had no issues getting a table despite a large convention happening next door at the Baird Center.“
“Me and my husband’s first time going there and we love the food the sides were amazing and came in a nice size bowl. We got 3 meat’s which came in a separate container from the sides. We will be going back to try different things. It was worth the “
“Had the brisket dinner with greens and Mac. It did not disappoint. The brisket was tender and moist with just enough sauce. Everything was cooked just right as far as flavor and texture goes. I would definitely return!Dietary restrictions: Greens are cooked with turkey instead of pork!!!!!“
“We went to Carson's last night (Friday) before catching a show at the Riverside. We had reservations for 4:00, but it didn't start getting busy until 5:00/5:30.I ordered the steak kebab, because I thought the portion would be smaller than the cuts of meat that were $20+ more. Well, I still ended up with a lot leftovers. Portions are generous, and everything tasted great. The coleslaw that comes with the meal was really good; finely chopped and creamy. Our server was kind and attentive.Total bill for 3 with full entrees and 2 drinks each was $315. They do automatically add a 18% gratuity onto the check, but do a good job of making sure you know it.Everything was great! We'll be back.“
“Visited Char'd after a matinee show at the performing arts center. The food was excellent! Our server recommended the dumplings for an appetizer and she was spot on. Delicious and savory with a hint of spice. The crème fraiche dipping sauce was the perfect compliment to these. I had the glass noodles with beef and my wife had the bibimbap. The glass noodles were very tasty with a flavorful broth that was warm and rich. The bibimbap was fantastic! Unfortunately the egg was slightly over so it did not get to mix into the dish as intended. Aside from that the dish was amazing. crisp, crunchy rice at the bottom, fresh vegetables, and a delicious spicy sauce. We shared bites several times and there was plenty of bibimbap to take home as it is a huge dish. We are still enjoying it today! The atmosphere is nice and we were seated quickly for our early reservation. I highly recommend you check out Char'd if you are looking for a delicious dining experience!“
“This was my first time here, the young ladies greeted me with a pleasant smile. Since this was my first time here they were super helpful and patient with me about ordering even was willing to let me sample some of the food. I was always asked if everything was ok by staff. Over all a 10/10 and I will come back.Kid-friendliness: I great place to bring the family!“
