“Best sushi experience so far in Arizona coming from someone who lived in Japan for 15 years. I didn't try the uni but will next time. At $25 for two nigiri, it's a bit steep for me even though it's probably my favorite thing to eat. Toro roll was amazing! Natto, awesome as usual. Hot sake was great. We got the combination meals. Toro-don and cold ramen, Una-don and cold ramen. Both sets were amazing ? We'll be coming back again soon, but not soon enough. Looks to be all Japanese owned ??. Normally I get pictures but this time I missed out on a few dishes.“
“Clever Ramen is always our go-to when we want a comforting flavorful bowl of ramen. If you enjoy ramen you cannot go wrong here. Absolutely delicious and we always leave satisfied. Also, the ambience is so comfortable with relaxing lighting and spaciousness. Nick, the owner, is also one of the most personable, kind, and funny people we’ve met and makes the effort to check in on tables asking them how they are doing and if there’s anything else he can get or do for them. If you’re in the area and love this cuisine, it’s truly a MUST to stop by at Clever Ramen for lunch or dinner.“
“Best Ramen, so delicious! Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and overall awesome. Kyle helped my kids open their Japanese sodas and gave them a tutorial on how to use their chopsticks. When my 10-year-old still couldn’t manage the sticks, he brought her a plastic tool to help her practice. The Cut rolls came out fast and were delicious. We had a great experience as a family and will definitely be back!“
“The ramen was really good and service was quick! It was fun to customize the bowl to everyone’s individual tastes and dietary needs.Dietary restrictions: As a vegetarian it was easy to customize to my needs. They also offered gluten free noodles.“
“Food was all very good. Happy hour prices made it reasonable. Service was good, but sorry that mandatory tip for party of 6 is necessary. Very noisy, we asked to be moved & were reluctantly accommodated. Overall great food, good service & glad we're able to reserve.“
“Parking was a little hard to find, but it was well worth the ramen, it was ...like REALLY good. Will totally be coming back again to try some other stuff. I got there signature bowl, not spicy, cause I'm a wuss. My girlfriend got the Tokyo bowl.We both walked away saying "we are 100% coming back!"“
“The service was very good and food came out quick! The happy hour is a good deal. We also tried the Azusa black and their Curry signature ramens. The "Spicy" level for the Curry Ramen could have been spicier, maybe there was a super spicy version we didn't know about?? Either way everything else was up to par!“
“First time trying this place and I have to say it was delicious! Good prices and you get a big bowl of ramen. We loved the edamame and the chicken dumplings. My family and I really enjoyed it and the service was 10/10! I got the spicy miso with pork. Wasn’t spicy at all just had great flavor and pork was very tasty ☺️Thank you so much, definitely returning!“
“This place is definitely worth 10/10, 5 stars, all the hand claps! From the staff to the food, everything was worth it. We all ordered the sizzling plates of angus beef. It came with miso soup which was the perfect touch. We also ordered the edamame spicy style and it was one of the best edamame we have had in terms of the sauce. The amount of food you get is the perfect portion for 1 person and the taste was amazing. I would recommend anyone to try this place at least once. It’s truly all you need before you start coming back for more!“
“I get the curry katsu a lot. I also order to go. I would suggest 2 aspects: 1) ask for more curry 2) ask to not have the paper decor they put at the bottom of the to-go box. That paper disintegrates when exposed to moisture. And the time you forget and pour the curry over the katsu... that paper is just mixed with the curry.I get it to go because it's always busy when I want curry katsu - weekends and/or evenings. So, the atmosphere is always loud that I need headphones/earbuds to be in that food court.“
“Truly delicious Ramen in relaxed, cozy atmosphere.I got the pork Ramen. Noodles were great and really soaked in the flavor of the broth. They really didnt skimp on the fixings (mine had Chashu pork, bamboo, spinach, leek, naruto slices, and green onion, as I recall)Service was prompt and The order-at-kiosk setup was very convenient. Overall, Izakaya is my new favorite ramen shop in the North Valley and the experience reminded me of delicious Ramen and Soba shops in Tokyo.“
“I was pretty hungover yesterday and a friend door-dashed me some ramen from here. WOW. It was absolutely delicious. The broth was so tasty and she sent some spring rolls too that were really good. I haven't had a ton of ramen in my life but this was definitely the best I've had. It brought me back to life! Highly recommend! I look forward to dining in sometime in the future.“
“Get outta here. This place is ?.Wife had the XO Noodles. A little spicy, but very good. I had the fried rice with braised chicken. The flavors were amazing, but the texture of the chicken is far too soft. I excuse it because of the flavors... fried rice was a little oily, but only slightly so. Friend had the Shaking Beef. Goodness it looked good. Can't wait to try it next time I'm in Arizona. Another friend had ramen with shrimp. The noodles looked excellent, but I didn't get a chance to try it. Another friend had the chow me in. He said it was good and that I should try it next time. Soft shell crab sticky buns appetizer was outstanding, just know that it comes with an aioli. Similarly, the calamari fries and comes drizzled with a semi-spicy aioli. They were very small, but very tasty. Finally, another friend had the pork belly sticky buns appetizer. I didn't try it because pork belly is too fatty for me, but he said it was good.“
“Our waiter was super nice! My boyfriend had always wanted to take me here and I loved it. It's such a cute little place and I just love the atmosphere. We got shrimp tempura and pork belly as appetizers. I got pork belly yakisoba and we got a tiramisu to share. It was all absolutely delicious and I would definetly come back!“
“This place is seriously good. Took my wife there for date night ? She got the tonkotsu ramen and I got the curry ramen. For an appetizer we got an order of the gyoza to share. Everything was delicious. The gyoza came with a dipping sauce that went perfectly with the pan fried dumplings. The rames had super fresh ingredients and toppings. I'm definitely coming back.“
“Great place for a quick snack. ? very clean and welcoming. We were greeted promptly and respectfully. Everything was organized and cleaned after each use.The atmosphere was lacking but wasn't terrible. It was just a little too quiet for me. Maybe some light music in the background or the TV playing a classic movie. Other than that, it was great!“
“Japanese Ramen is food for the soul which makes Tampopo feel like it’s straight from heaven. The Ultra Spicy Ramen Bowl with homemade noodles and a broth as rich as Jeff Bezso had me in complete bliss. The Gyoza was pan fried to the perfect level of crispy and was ohhh so good! I adore this tiny restaurant located in Tempe Arizona. Its kitchen counter dining, friendly staff and authentic menu has had me coming back here for years.“
“I've come to this place a couple of times now and they always have great food. The owner is super nice and likeable and his staff are really great as well. Highly recommend this place for some great Chinese noodles. No other place in Arizona compares.“
“Updated menu with far more reasonable prices than the last iteration of this place. The food brings me back to Japan. It is absolutely the real deal from a chef that masters the staple foods that everyone loves. The kakuni (pork belly) udon was delicious and the portions were generous. Authentic Japanese comfort food.“
“When you walk in it feels like a hole in the wall that may be a cool place to grab a drink, but don't stop there. Look at the menu. Lots of options, but it is the ramen that is the star of this show. It is CRAZY. Big bowl filled with lots of noodles and whatever extras you want. I had the "miso hungry." My soft egg was perfect and of course I ordered fried chicken on the side (for only $4.50 that is almost a meal in itself). As others have said the broth is a little salty, but it was delicious and worth it. Service was friendly and on point. They bill at the table without actually giving you a bill- our server just showed me the total on the hand held device. I don't love this but I'm sure it saves them time. Worth it for the food!“
“Excellent place with a good happy hour. Mother daughter lunch at HH prices. I will need to go back for date night. Good service, good prices, considering where they are located, well executed cocktails.Parking: Biltmore shopping center parking. Either park in the garage or in the lot in front of the restaurant facing Camelback.Kid-friendliness: They have kids menus but my 10yo enjoys eating from the adult menu.“
“I've traveled to Japan closest thing I've had to ramen in Japan and the service was quick ....food is amazing from the ramen to kurage chicken on point I love that you order on your phone when you get to the table allows for quick service and once your done you just leave def something every restaurant should have“
“The best time of year is when 50 shades creates their one of a kind Christmas pop-up. They combine the cool vibes of Snoop Dogg with the timeless elegance of Martha Stewart making a super fun and festive atmosphere. They have cocktails inspired by the iconic duo while surrounded by Christmas themed photos of the pair. Loved the unique blend of hip-hop and festive charm, highly recommend the experience.“
