“A small coffee shop that looks really unassuming, but the pastries, soups and sandwiches are surprisingly good! Quote amazed by the quality of the food here. I love the apple gallete and blueberry pastry. So yummy. For lunch, I usually have their soups and their homemade stuffed pita. Very good.“
“Dated and old cafe but a hidden jewel. $8 for a homemade turkey sandwich and chicken noodle soup is cheap. The owner was nice. Will go back as no one beats his prices for soup and sandwich. Had 3 soup options the day we went. He offers a lunch dish option also. Update: I went 2 more times, but today at 11 am March 4th, we tried again. He greeted us, busy so we sat and sat and waited, never took our order. In the meantime, others ordered to go so their orders first. Finally, we left. Needs another person to work lunchtime. Too busy. Waits for food are long. He is too busy trying to do it all.“
“I have been visiting Fior Di Latte since I moved into the neighbourhood 4 years ago. Their lattes are always beautifully delicious. One of my favourites are their beef or spinach and feta pitas. Their sweet flaky pastries are also to die for and I've never had one I didn't enjoy!I love that they make their own gelato in-house. I recently came home with a pint of the sour Cherry and chocolate gelato. It was the creamiest gelato I have ever had!Service is amazing and the atmosphere is so comfortable.I highly recommend this cafe!“
“This place has opened for a while in my little neighborhood at Royal Oak. I thought I would give it a try to support small businesses in the pandemic. The owner made The crepe with love. He kept asking me to sit outside his store so his crepe will be nice and fresh. I said I live like a minute away. Then he gave me a container of his whipped cream to take home so his crepe wouldn’t be soggy. nice guy. When I had a bite of the crepe, I was surprised by how thin but crispy his crepe was. His salted caramel sauce was buttery but not overpowering. He was also very nice and generous in the fruits and topics which I appreciated“
“This place is a hidden gem in Vancouver! We ordered two sandwiches - Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Pesto, both were really tasty. There was a lot of filling in the sandwiches and the bread was lovely too. The beef sausages rolls were really good too.Great value for money too, if you are in the local area would highly recommend ordering from this place.“
“I recently had the pleasure of visiting The New Cairo Café, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. Nestled in the bustling heart of the city, this café is a true hidden gem for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the cozy and inviting atmosphere. The warm, earthy tones, soft lighting, and tasteful decor created a welcoming ambiance that made me instantly feel at home. The café was clean, well-maintained, and the attention to detail in its design was evident. The menu at The New Cairo Café offers a delightful fusion of flavors, blending both local and international cuisines. I opted for the Mediterranean platter, which featured a mouthwatering assortment of falafel, hummus, tabbouleh, and freshly baked pita bread. Each dish was expertly prepared, bursting with authentic flavors that transported my taste buds to the Mediterranean coast. The presentation was impeccable, showcasing the kitchen's dedication to aesthetics and taste.“
“I had the sandwich combo with a brie sandwich and honey lavender milk tea. The sandwich I recommend! It was really good! The milk tea I had at 30% sugar but I still found it to be a bit sweet. Overall it was really good, I’d love to come back to try the waffles or bingsoo. There is a lot of seating and the service was fast:)“
“16oz always $2.50, good coffee shop, in a corner of the Brentwood Mall Food Court.Parking: Most parking spaces require payment. Many disabled parking spaces are outdoors. There are parking spaces in the basement that are directly connected to the elevator, but you need to pay.“
“Korean run coffee shop across the street from Brentwood Mall. It's tucked away on Buchanan (N side of the building). Not sure how long they've been there, but I found it by accident. Parking is pretty atrocious here unless it's after 2000, at which point the street parking becomes free. The inside is clean and modern and looks like something a bit like a fairy tale. The interior is pretty quiet, which is great for chatting. Staff are friendly and helpful. The coffee I had was pretty decent. This place also sells cakes and other pastries. The cakes definitely looked interesting, as they are concave at the top, as if someone squished a salad bowl into them before baking. I didn't try any and so can't comment on the taste. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point.“
“This place has a really cool exterior, covered with greenery, hence their name. The interior is decorated with art, more greenery, and has plenty of seats available.Parking can be a pain, but since it’s near a residential area, street parking can be found. That being said, because of the space, the openness and the amount of people it can fit, it’s much louder than your typical cafe. This isn’t the cafe you want to work in, but the cafe you want to socialize with friends in.Food wise, I had the fried chicken with waffles and it was okay. The fried al chicken was more akin to chicken nuggets, and the black waffles were made with a mochi flour which gave it a different texture. Pricing was also fairly expensive, a sparkling passion fruit lemonade, which is essentially juice and soda water, is $7.Overall, I would come to check out the decor and the experience of a cafe in a forest, but not stay any longer than I need to.“
“Yummy freshly made wheel cakes.Ordered matcha red bean, red bean, custard pearl and vanilla ice cream flavored wheel cakesThey open at 1pm but there was already a lineup when they opened and we had to wait for 10-15min for the wheel cakes to be made.“
“The vibe is super cool, modern, cozy and laidback. A very new and upcoming chain location and is by far the nicest I have visited beforehand.Im an avid fan of this fantastic chain and awesome coffee joint so took FULL advantage of grabbing a To Good To Go haul and boy did I get a surprise! A filo'loaded Pastry army equipped to take down anyone, fantastic value and great, fresh products made from natural and minimum ingredients. I managed to pickup:Spiced Apple Pumpkin MuffinCandycane MuffinsCappuccino LoafPumpkin Orange SconeEverything was super yummy, wholesome and fresh with great flavors of home baking style goodies.Definetely recommend and will always return!Support Canadian businesses!“
“I come here almost every week, the food is so delicious and the service is very friendly. The vibe of the cafe is perfect for studying or hanging out with friends, with classic music playing or you can sit outside and they will bring your food out for you.I have been trying out their Panini menu and always get it with some soup. They have great price points for their food at high quality. My favourite Panini so far is the Campanola, but all are so crispy and flavourful. I also like their Italian sodas and have been going through those one by one.“
“Not the fastest cafe if you're getting a more substantial meal, but it's run by just one super sweet lady, so have some patience. The food is well worth the wait. Strongly recommend the crepes, which are way bigger than you're expecting and sooo good. The drinks are also excellent. Great little cafe to gather in, if you will :)“
“Okay what can I say about JJ beanie is that their food is really really good and what I like about their food is that it's really good and I believe they're also made. It's kind of like almost. I don't know how to explain the food. The food is organic for one and and it's delicious. Number two and number three is some of the items are vegan which I absolutely love and me being a diabetic and all the food is amazing and it doesn't bother my blood sugars whatsoever so thumbs up for that and then the service. What can I say about the service? The service is amazing. They're always super friendly. They're always really nice and overall every time you come in they always greet you with a nice smile on their face and then they start talking to you. It's just an amazing place to be which I love. And as for atmosphere goes, I love her atmosphere. I absolutely do I. I love it. I can't get enough. It's not so busy. Most of the time is not busy but it's like welcoming and it's warm and it's just overall amazing like amazing atmosphere and I absolutely love that. Although they could use some no plugins to plug in your like. You know cell phones or laptops or what have you? But to be honest, besides that, there's like nothing bad or wrong that I could say about JJ being. I absolutely love it. I do and I love the workers there are there. They've become a friends to me so they're they're amazing. Love them all!“
“Went here with a friend as he had randomly stumbled across it. The place is definitely a hole in the wall location but I was absolutely blown away by the food. The tacos I got were some of the best tacos I've ever had and brought me right back to my time in mexico. The prices were average but not too expensive and the location is cute and welcoming. Highly recommend and will be on the lookout for their food truck.“
“This is La Foret's second location. It is different from the first location. At the moment this is a to-go location. I was surprised to walk in to see a big open space. They have donuts, croissants, pastries, cookies and ice cream. They also have coffee and other drinks. We went on a Sunday and there was only one person working. It was surprisingly quiet compared to the first location. I got a croissant and B got a coffee bun. The croissant was nice, flaky and fluffy. For $3.75 can't complain. B really liked their coffee bun. It has butter coffee filling inside which is very different. The location is very convenient. It is walking distance beside the skytrain. I will definitely go back for other treats.“
“Hidden gem and wish it would be open on weekends. There’s really not a lot of good options for coffee nearby. My in-laws love stopping here for a coffee on their stroller walk with our baby and they’ll take him out of the stroller to meet and greet him with people working in the offices of this building. Everyone is so friendly and the coffee/food are great.“
“I was introduced to this place by my relatives and I can say I was really impressed. We ordered tomato soup, avocado toast, Wednesday special BLT and veggie bibibop. All dish had fresh ingredients, yummy flavour and no flavours were an overkill. The staff were very friendly and checked in with us a couple times to see how we were doing. Overall, it’s a place where I can comfortably bring anyone for a nice brunch / lunch and have a good warm meal. Highly recommend giving this place a try.“
“The drinks are amazing! Came here because no where to sit at nearby JJ Bean and so glad happened upon Guulu. Their specialty drinks are carefully designed and each one made to perfection. Really worth it if want something different. Their coffee - oh my - some of the best I have ever tasted - so smooth. Such a great coffee/specialty drink experience! Have been back several times and plan to continue.“
“This location is pretty hidden within this industrial business area. So it may take some trial and error to find it. It's also a pretty small location, but still has the same amazing jj bean coffee and baked goods. Even though it's about a 5-10 minute drive past my work, its worth the extra commute!“
“This adorable cafe is tucked inside the Gardenworks shop. The bright, casual dining area exudes a relaxing vibe.Tried the Smoked Salmon Benedict and Bacon & Eggs breakfast: both were simply prepared but hit the spot. Special shoutout to the potato bites - fluffy insides with crispy outer layer, perfectly satisfying my carb craving.Service from the friendly staff was efficient without being overbearing. Prices are also very reasonable for the quality. The only hiccup was finding the Lobster Bisque a touch too rich and salty for my liking. After brunching, I browsed the plant selection next door which is top-notch. Ended up bringing home some beautiful blooms to spruce up for CNY.In summary, this hidden gem is a fantastic low-key destination whether you want a tranquil pre-shop meal or a post-shopping retreat. Recommend stopping by if you find yourself in the area of Burnaby. The café is a wonderful addition complementing the gorgeous garden center.———————————-IG: #roamardtheworldMusic credit: Sitting in a cafe, bequemmusic“
“What a delightful place! Large comfy areas to sit around, chat, read and feel the calm and genuine atmosphere. It feels like home. The baristas have a fabulous sense of humor and always welcoming. The food is clean with vegan options too. Extremely clean and well kept. This is my favorite haunt. I buy my coffee beans from there and they grind it for me with a ready smile. Go and enjoy this friendly place.“
“Absolutely enchanted by GardenWorks Cafe! The Christmas decor is stunning, creating a warm and festive atmosphere. The coffee is delicious, and the bright, cheerful vibes make it the perfect spot for holiday joy. A delightful experience that truly captures the spirit of the season!"“
“I really enjoyed my experience. The Cantonese-speaking owners have a really well-run operation for a small team. The cafe is well-maintained and offers a vintage vibe. I stopped in for breakfast and my coffee was constantly refilled, condimentswere brought without needing to be requested, food was reasonably priced, quality was so-so with the hash browns. What really impressed me was the community vibe - there were a lot of local regulars right at opening - one of their regulars helped set up the patio set outside and they were catching up with their friends for a regular meet up. The lady who was serving everyone remembered multiple orders of her regulars and was very warm and welcoming to everyone in both English & Cantonese. She never stopped moving - getting coffee prepared, taking orders, delivering orders, checking in, gossiping with her regulars, coordinating with her husband in the kitchen or manning the till. The husband chef was constantly cooking and also managed to step out for a quick chat with some regulars while grabbing some coffee.Came for the food but stayed for the positive vibes to kick off a busy weekend. Overall, well done!Parking: Spots right out front, plenty of parking available for a Saturday morning“
“The souffle pancake is HUGE! And it is as large as it is delicious. I'm pretty sure it's meant for 2 people unless you have a sweet tooth.I visited due to recent withdrawals from a recent vacation in Japan, but this pancake at least hit the spot and took away some of the longing. It's a cute little spot with a tasty menu and relaxing atmosphere.“
