“Recently tried their new location - More on the Shore (located in the Coast Marina) and had the Crispy Cod Tacos. So good and the candied jalapeño jam really adds to the flavor. Next time I need to try their ice cream sandwiches. Check them out as they are a must try!”

“Went for a late lunch today had a backwards meal dessert first, the black forest cheesecake was excellent! We had Levi serve us he is a great treat himself perfect server (good service is hard to come by you rock!). We followed up the dessert with delicious Ramen. Trusted our server to pair our meal with drinks, wine and beer were a great match. We have been here many times food and drinks are always great.”

“My wife and I have enjoyed and liked the menu several times at spice hut in Campbell River, What we don't like is they won't pay us for our window cleaning service. They owe us $735 dollars and despite several requests they keep saying don't worry. I am worried. So we're taking desperate measures.”

“Stopped in today with my partner and brother while waiting for my mother in hospital. We arrived about 3:45 pm and it was completely empty. Service was speedy and the place looked extremely clean and welcoming. Gorgeous brightly colored embroidered runners were on the tables and walls which really made it lovely.

We had the veg samosas to start and they did not dissapoint. Was so nice to have a flaky, light pastry. Too many times samosas have a really heavy and dense pastry around them.

I had malai kofta and both guys had butter chicken. Food was outstanding. The flavor was rich and intense, warmly spiced. So good. Apparently buffet on Wed from 11-2 so we will be back.

“I had 2 issues. #1: I’m not a woman yet the first greeting I hear when the server arrives at the table is “Hi ladies.” Please teach your staff gender neutral language. You can just say Hello, tell us your name, and ask us if we’re ready to order. The “ladies” or “gentlemen” part of the greeting is not necessary. I guess our server decided it was more important to gender us than to provide good service. And I shouldn’t have to tell the server that I’m not a woman, I shouldn’t have to put myself in public where someone could overhear and I put myself in danger. #2: I asked for fries with my sandwich. I had to find my server and ask where they were. I also asked for no lemon and my water came with lemon. My friend also had requests missing and decided not to say anything because she is not confrontational.”

“Excellent place to have tea and a treat. I was there today! The service was excellent tea was amazing along with the caramel horn. My little granddaughter slept while I enjoyed them. It’s so friendly and warm place a must go to when visiting or living in Campbell River.”

“Review for North Island Brewing Corp

As a recent transplant to Vancouver Island (less than six months ago), I was fortunate to stumble upon North Island Brewing Corp, and I can confidently say this place is a gem. Having brewed my own beer for years and visited numerous breweries, I can attest that this is by far the best overall experience I’ve had.

The brewing quality, the expertise, and the attention to every detail of the craft are simply unmatched. Jason and his staff truly know their stuff—they’re not just great at what they do, but they’re also friendly and welcoming, which adds to the experience.

The beer itself is incredible. I’d happily travel long and far for this brew, but if I had to go even farther, I wouldn’t hesitate! North Island Brewing Corp sets the bar high for what a craft brewery should be. Highly recommended to beer lovers near and far!

“This intimate little restaurant was a real find 🥰on my way through Campbell River! The food was great and service attentive, friendly but unobtrusive. I have had Thai food in other places in Canada and other countries and these dishes were delicious and authentic. I had the Thai Papaya Salad which came with a nice amount of the house dressing, as well as the Kristy Special with tofu as my protein selection. Being vegetarian, it was great that I could select the protein for any dish; that is so rare! Usually I am stuck with one or two options, but here I could paid tofu with most of the offerings. I had also asked for medium spice and it didn't disappoint 😅. The vegetables were generous and were not overcooked, and came with a generous helping of rice noodles and the tofu. And the portions for both were large enough that I saved a portion to have another day. Even though the place was at capacity, service was efficient, friendly and timely. If you love Thai food, I definitely highly recommend this place in Campbell River! 😋🇹🇭”

“Beijing House is our favourite restaurant in Campbell River, BC. Our kids love the lemon chicken, green onion pancakes and mini spring rolls. My wife and I love that it is authentic, healthy chinese cuisine, served by kind, joyful owners. If you are looking to support local, this is a great option!”

Not my favorite. Won ton soup had good flavor to it but wontons were over done and dough was mushy. Server lady was very friendly. Place is nice enough inside, outside is dated. Worth a try if you are in the area.”

“My wife and I were staying in Campbell River for a little get away and found this hidden gem. Stopped in for a late lunch, had the quesadias and pretzel bites. The food was so good. There was a young server and another with a German accent that were ontop of things, very friendly, and very customer orientated, can't say enough good things about those ladies. We will be stopping in again next time we are in town. A must go to pub.”

“I do not often give reviews but when I do it is because of either excellent service or unexpected quality. Rarely do I experience both at the same time, even more rare is to have both exceed my expectations However…this was the case at our recent visit to Quay West. We received a warm welcome with warmer smiles and prompt friendly service. Our plan was a quick snack and a cool beer…we ordered the ‘Bang Bang Prawns’ and the Onion Rings from the appetizer menu. i expected four breaded prawns…we received a meal that Gordon Ramsey would be proud to serve and the onion rings…perfectly seasoned and crispy AND…a full basket! A truly amazing experience…. Four thumbs up and ten Stars out of a possible five. Oh, and if, while sitting at the table at Quay West, you are wondering on the odd looking mountain across the water…it is known as Cowboy’s Hat and Dog Tooth Mountain but the official named is Mount Doogie Dowler.”

“This was my third time at Mattone's. The first time was for lunch, then back for their Sunday High Tea twice. The food is so delicious and the location is beautiful, right on the water. We even saw 3 orcas swim by. The staff are very friendly and efficient. I highly recommend trying out their High Tea (you have to reserve) or just popping in for lunch or dinner.”
