“Excellent food. The lamb shashlik was delicious. Also the large, varied platter of appetizers. We were there on a Sunday at noon and there were not many others at that time, so there was hardly any noise which was good for me. I will definitely return to try other dishes, or maybe have the lamb again . . . . Highly recommend.“

“What a great local spot to have that is something so different than other spots.I ordered Ciblir - 7/5 one of the best things I’ve ever eaten, wife tired the Burrata and Fatoush salad 4/5. We also split a Simit with feta olives and honey 5/5 .Delicious, satisfying and doesn’t weigh you down.“

“We loved our dinner. Both our appetizers (asparagus soup and mole salad) and the both main courses were extraordinarily good. Perfectly prepared. Creative food combined flavors. I got the curry sesame fried chicken, and it was the best fried chicken I have ever tasted. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The hummus sauce and honeyed baby carrots brought it to another level. Equally fabulous was my husband's pork chop, perhaps the juiciest pork chop on the planet, with a kale side that had the zingiest flavor combo, just knocked us out. Superb glass of Burgundy. Lovely and knowledgable French female server. The only slight negative was the fruit tart for desert that didn't quite live up to the rest of the meal. As my husband said, these people know what they are doing, as the place was packed on a Saturday but there were no service stumbles. I also heard my neighbors on both sides raving about their dishes, so there is consistent excellence. Not cheap but worth every penny.“

“What a delightful, charming, and tasty oasis in the Mission. The food and drinks are thoughtful and packed with flavors, some familiar and soul-warming, others surprising and eye-opening. The space is just the right amount of decor that sets the perfect tone. Most importantly, the owner is so hands-on, a friendly and attentive host who truly cares about every single person who walks through his doors.“

“We had a wonderful time. Food was yummilicious! Service by Marco was first class! He offered wonderful recommendations, was attentive, friendly and discreet. And went above and beyond.... He offered me reading glasses when he noticed me squinting at the menu. He came running out when we forgot our takeaway bag. It was just a totally brilliant night. We WILL be back!“

“I really enjoyed stopping by here. The family who run this little place are very kind and the atmosphere is charming. I got the kisir & shakshuka, along with the chicha morada to drink. Everything was delicious! They also have small, tasty pitas. Updated from previous review on 2023-07-06“

All of our dishes were really tasty! We can recommend the manti, eggplant and you have to try the baklava! My husband is Turkish and loved going there! We will definitely be back!“

“This is the best hummus I've had on this side of the ocean. Not only was the hummus delicious, but all the trimmings as well: pita, pickles, fries, mint tea, and more. The physical restaurant is also a lovely and welcoming space. Should be 5 stars, except for serving meat.“

“Great vibes - love the Turkish music and complimentary Turkish tea! The restaurant was immaculate, spotless clean! Food was fantastic and the prices were very reasonable. The amount of food, freshness and deliciousness are very much in order. The lamb and beef gemuse gyro kebab was excellent! It was exactly what I was hoping for (doener kebab). I look forward to trying the wrap in hopes that it's like the dueruem I ate back in Nuernberg. The rice pudding was top class!!! Perfectly creamy and lightly sweet and the top was bruleed masterfully.“

“Stopped in with my buddy before a Warriors game. Place is open, spacious and well lit so it's very inviting. We quickly found a seat at the bar for two about 20-30 min before game time. Ordered a few beers (great beer selection) and were sipping on drinks within 10 minutes of waking in the door. People sitting next us at bar were friendly and bartender (also part owner) was extremely helpful and attentive while we're there. We had already eaten but food on menu and at people tables looked very good. Will definitely make sure to stop by here next time I'm in the area with a little more time to dive into food and wine/beer menu.“

“Locoum and other desserts appear in the front window to entice you in. There is a cute exterior seating space and the indoor seating feels clean and welcoming with a spacious feel. The service was a bit low-staffed but they were very friendly, efficient and responsive so we were able to complete our lunch within the 1 hour window. Everything except the falafel salad was 4-5 stars. Good value for money on the starters.“

“The food was a 7/10, I got the chicken and it could have been cooked a little bit more. The hummus never misses here, high recommend (barcha's hummus). The service was a little slow for my liking, they get very busy at lunchtime and are often times spread thin. On a nice day, highly encourage sitting outside!“

“So glad I came here. Plenty of parking at Safeway. Walked directly across the street into the alley to find this hole in the wall gem. Was immediately given a lentil soup and water as soon as I sat down. Ordered a steak burrito which was massive. All delicious food. Low key vibes. Not busy at all. Cash only. ATM available in the restaurant. Nice people working there.Parking: Park at Safeway and walk across the street.“

“I got the chicken stew to go. Chicken meat was falling off the bones. He called it a soup. There were lots of veggies, two pieces of chicken, one was a whole thigh. It was really good. Not too salty. They gave me two hugh pita bread. Veggies were zuchini and potatoes. $17. Sketchy neighborhood. I would go only day time. Yes, it is near police station but police are inside, not outside.“

“The food is SO good. My husband had the crepe sarrasine with lamb sausage and he instantly fell in love. I had the chicken shawarma and added caramelized onions. Everything about it was so flavorful. We decided to top it off with the lemon crepe - I think I died and went to heaven. If we lived closer, I would probably need an intervention. The outside seating was clean and quaint and the service was great. When we come back to the city, I will definitely be stopping in again!“

“I had an amazing experience here! I unexpectedly stopped by here and went in for breakfast around 1:30pm. The owner was sitting table next to me so even they weren’t serving breakfast anymore he heard me ask and he told them to make me breakfast. I appreciated it so much. I ate avocado toast and iced latte and it was yummy. Shout out to the owner for making my day better ?“

“As an Asian I normally don’t go for sandwiches. This place, however, has hands down the tastiest sandwiches in town. Bread is light, warm and fresh. All the food they offer is of quality. I accidentally stumbled into this cafe when I had some errands downtown and I am glad to have discovered this little gem.“

“My quest for good falafels in the Bay area finally comes to and end. The crunch, the spices, the bread - perfect.Potatoes and eggs needed some salt - they were okayish, the Hummus, pita and falafels (even the stuffed ones) were awesome. Background: partly grew up in the Mediterranean. So I think I know good what good falafels should crunch and taste like.“

“We used to eat dinner here on our way to Davies Symphony Hall 15 years ago. We moved away and just came back this week for a mini vacation. We took a chance today and it was as delicious as ever. We had the chicken kebab plate and the lamb kebab plate and 2 cans of soda for $48. What a bargain. The food is fresh, healthy and plentiful. The flavors are wonderful and the service is very good. It’s clean and neat inside—truly a little gem.“

“Wonderful atmosphere and food! I recommend coming here on a nice sunny day or evening to sit outside. We were told the lamb kebab is often available, but is not on the menu. It is worth asking for-- especially accompanied by the yummy rice pilaf. I've had moussaka here before and liked it, but it was less traditional this time. It is still not bad, but it doesn't taste like traditional moussaka. It is more like a Mediterranean shepherds pie because it includes different vegetables like zucchini, bell peppers, and mushrooms. I prefer mine with just the lamb and eggplant. The béchamel sauce on top is still really good though!“

“This is the BEST Mediterranean food in Alameda! For a late night dinner we had two appetizers, eggplant with pita and the other a kind of zucchini pancake with Tsatsiki combined with our entry lamb kabob was absolutely delectable! The ambiance was stylish and our host the owner of the restaurant was extremely hospitable. My fiance and I felt like we traveled to Turkey with speciality cuisine. It's now our favorite restaurant in Alameda.“

“We love going to Terzo-it never disappoints. Atmosphere is good-lighting excellent with a nice buzz to the room. Our server we've had multiple times and the continuity in staff says a lot . We split the arugula salad/grilled asparagus /meatballs on polenta and split a main entree the Greek chicken -with the exception of the aspragus which was pedestrian everything else was terrific-highlights were the meatballs/polenta and the Greek chicken—there's always something new on the wines by the glass list -had the Chianti Classico and the Timorasso-server was terrific as usual-we'll be back-“

“Service was good and kind. I had lamb meatballs, mussels, carbonara. Lamb meatballs were best lol mussels were just regular tasty but fries came with mussels were better than main menu. We asked more baguette for left over mussels sauce. ServerRefilled a lot of baguette. Carbonara tastes like instant ramen:0 Don't order that.I would recommend lamb meatballs and fries.“

“Came for SF restaurant week. The restaurant is past the lobby of the Intercontinental. Parking was easy on the street, but apparently the restaurant also validates valet. Amuse-bouche and sourdough with butter were pleasant surprise additions to the menu. Appreciated the bread being cut all the way. Texture difference of crust and inside was great and arrived at a nice warm temperature. Got an old fashioned and it was nice and strong. Friend said her drink was pretty weak. Soup was also nice and warm. Crab was great and wished there was more of it. Duck was delicious, especially with the sauces. Yuzu dessert was perfect, coconut part was a bit distracting for me. Hotel staff was top notch with welcoming and guiding the way to the restaurant. Restaurant staff was attentive. Vibe was quiet and relaxing.“

“Great experience with Greek-inspired bowls. The meats in a salad bowl keeps things "light".This location can get pretty crowded and the chairs can be difficult to pull in/out. Squeezing between chairs can be tricky.Neighborhood was fun and felt safe here (early evening).“

“Great place, food and service. Waiters are really friendly, ambience is peaceful, very pleasent. Only thing, I truly, I dislike about Novy is overhearing the Spanish slurs coming from the kitchenWords like "Perro" and " Mierda" coming out of nowhere is mark that should be erase right away. This a restaurant not a cheap bar in terrible neighborhood.“

“Can’t appreciate this place more! Every time I yearn for Mediterranean food Sumac has been my place. Home away from home. The food I eat reminds the food my grandma used to make back home in the Mediterranean. They are always adding more top-notch items on their menu. I tried most of the items on the menu, I even catered food for some of the events I organized; go for it you will never be disappointed!!!“

“One of my favorites in the Mission District, located at Harrison and 24th Street, is Healthyish Republic an explosion of flavors, textures, and delicious healthy style. When I arrived in San Francisco, I was super concerned about my food routine, and that's when I found them! Since then, they've become more than just my favorite spot; it's my second home. Perfect if you follow a Keto, Paleo, Mediterranean style diet, or simply if you appreciate quality food with top ingredients. Thanks for every experience, Healthyish family!“

“If you know me, you know that I am half-Sudanese (Northern Sudan) and half-Egyptian. I moved here over a decade ago, and it was hard to find Sudanese food until I came across Z Zoul. The restaurant is a haven of warmth, cleanliness, and comfort. When I entered, I immediately felt like I was back home, thanks to the delicious aromas and the warm welcome I received from Arif. Aref served us the best homemade Sudanese food that brought back fond memories of my dad and family. The taste of the food and how it was presented just brought tears to my eyes. After the sumptuous meal, we ordered hibiscus drink (Karkade), which was the perfect finale. The food is very reasonably priced, and you get a generous portion for the price. If you've never tried Sudanese food, I highly recommend Z Zoul. My husband, who had never tasted Sudanese food before, and my son can't remember the goodness of Sudanese food. Both were thrilled with the food, and I'm sure you will be too. Aref and Dalya, I cannot thank you enough from the bottom of my heart for the hospitality and the incredible food. May your restaurant continue to flourish, and may your family always be blessed. Thank you again!“

“Falafel and shawarma shop located in the heart of the Mission. Although seating is limited, we've always seemed to luck out on a seat. They offer free falafel as you order, which is kind of them. My go-to order is the kefta plate. The beef is super tender and their hummus is SO good“

“GREAT FLAVOR, GREAT FOOD, GREAT PRICES.Been hunting around the East Bay for a couple of weeks now looking for that good Kefta And Doner experience, and I was really disappointed with a couple of the restaurants because their meat just didn't have any flavor. Really bland. Not here! Ordered the Kofte kebab plate, and it was absolutely delicious. Tender perfectly seasoned on fresh pita bread, a scoop of rice, both yogurt and hot sauce, and a dollop of Baba Ganoush. This is one of the best combination Middle Eastern plates I've had in the East bay, ever. I highly recommend this place. Clean interior, friendly staff, clean bathroom, and it easy to find location.“
