Experience Corona Del Mar's Mexican food at these fantastic spots.
“I eat here a few times a week. Not only is the food great I look forward to seeing the staff every week. Today Victor talked with me while I ate my food. His genuine passion for the food and restaurant made me stoked! He could not be a nicer employee and friend. Also big shoutout to Chris! He asks me about my career every week. I'll be coming back here forever!“
“Chipotle in Corona del Mar is a reliable go-to spot for quick and easy Mexican food. The chain is known for its customizable bowls and burritos, and the Corona del Mar location does not disappoint. The ordering process is straightforward and efficient. You can choose from a variety of meats, rice, beans, and toppings to build your perfect burrito, salad, bowl, or quesadilla. You can also add fresh salsa, guacamole, cheese, and sour cream, or spice things up with hot sauce or jalapenos. One thing that sets Chipotle apart from other fast-food chains is the fresh ingredients. Nothing seems frozen or prepackaged. You can taste the difference in the food, and it's a refreshing change from other fast-food options. This location has a pretty cool set, as a stand-alone building with a private parking lot. It also looked like they had a walk up window instead of a drive thru. Chipotle in Corona del Mar is a solid option for fast and tasty Mexican food. The customizable options and fresh ingredients make it stand out from other fast-food chains. Just be prepared for the crowds during peak hours“
“A fantastic experience. I really felt inclined to write this review to discuss how phenomenal of a server Jake is (give this man a raise). I have certain food allergies and very rarely encounter servers that ask their guests about this before ordering. He asked about it right away and made sure to offer the best choices that were safe for me. On top of this, he checked in on our table multiple times to make sure everything was okay. I really appreciated his service, accommodation, and attention to detail. Will be returning soon!“
“Overall experience was great- our waiter was not overly attentive once he found out we would not be drinking and felt frustrated that we were not ready to order immediately once our final party member arrived. The food was really good and it was a bit noisy initially but quieted a bit as dinner went on.“
“I'm so glad I found you. Amazing, fresh, hot tacos to order. Salsa bar with spicy salsas and chopped jalapeños, green salsa, red salsa and marinated onions. You can't beat the prices either. Let me tell you about the fish tacos Wow so flavorful and seasoning is right on it! The shredded beef crispy tacos of my Dreams complete with sour creme, cheese, lettuce and guacamole they are the Best! Carnitas are a Deal Maker the Flavor cannot be matched so delightful, I cannot wait to return. Taco Grill you are a Gem.“
“I ate at Aria Kitchen for the fist time, while on a business trip. The bartender was very welcoming and engaging with the customers. She also made an excellent Cadillac margarita. The food was very good. I highly recommend this place. Nice atmosphere, great service, and great food.“
“Absolutely wonderful! It's always refreshing to visit a restaurant that is 100% vegan. It's even better when the ambiance and atmosphere is also wonderful. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is expansive. The service is great. If/when I move to the area, I'll be a regular here! Don't keep scrolling for a place to eat - this is it!“
“Tonight was my fourth time at Que Vida. It never disappoints. VERY good food and the margaritas are amazing. They have a menu of several different ones to choose from. The el pastor tacos are the best that I've ever had and I've tried them at many many places. Chicken enchiladas are very hearty- full of meat and very delicious Not only is the food and drinks great here, but honestly the service is top notch. I always sit at the bar. Anthony and Johnie are the BEST bartenders. They are extremely friendly and personable. They also make great recommendations as well. If you haven't tried this little gem of a restaurant, it's a must!“
“Got the 3 pack for $13 - tried the potato, chicken, and beef. Honestly, more than I expected. Great flavor throughout, from the topping to the meat inside and held up well when taking it to go. Would definitely suggest if you want something quick and unique for Spectrum.“
“Friend recommendation. This Mexican joint is in downtown HB by PCH and the beach. So parking is limited as there is also a market until 9Pm. Environment is nice but something seems familiar? That's right. This place is similar to Los Chollos of Anaheim and Fullerton. For taco Tuesday, you get 3 of the premium cuts for 11 bucks (if paying cash). Paying by cash gets you a discount. They do have fountain drinks so that's a plus and they have the usuals like Los Chollos including the veggie/sauce bar. Depending on when you come in determines how long you have to wait. Busiest time would equal at least 40+ minute wait. Got arrachera, cocina and pork belly. Choose the pork belly because you get a lot of meat and that's a plus. It's very crispy and delicious. Overall, this place is good. It's just finding parking is going to be the dead giveaway but I like it. Would go back if I'm in the area and craving good tacos.“
“My favorite Mexican restaurant!!! I used to live in the area and eat here regularly. Living in Colorado now but every time I am in SoCal this place is a must stop. Had an early dinner and mezcal margarita before heading to the airport last week. Awesome as usual!“
“Amazing service! The staff was very friendly, and considering we were coming in on a busy day, they provided us our food in a good amount of time. As others have recommended, anything with their carne asada is delicious, the meat melts in your mouth with a burst of flavor. The hard shell tacos with beef and the taquitos de papa y de res were also spectacular!“
“You want to try the best roast chicken...come here, the Super package includes 1 chicken, they give you tortillas, Jamaican water, beans, rice and corn and salsa.Inside, I recommend the cesina taco...very delicious, just one detail, don't let a dark-haired lady serve you, because she has a very ugly character, she doesn't know how to treat people, on the other hand, the girl who charges you for the liquor is Super friendly and always with a smile. I recommend the place on weekends.“
“Here are the pros … beautiful architecture, good food (appreciate the option for vegan cheese which is tasty), good drinks, attentive service.… and the cons: very loud if you’re dining inside on the weekend, our round table was wobbly (quite unexpected when you’re paying a premium for your meal), valet parking ($8 not including tip) is required unless you have a lot of time and patience to search the beach streets for parking and are willing to hike a bit.“
“Cute spot. Parking is limited. We got there around 5pm on a Friday. Luckily a few spots to park in the front. We ordered the fish taco and the two taco combo with rice and beans. We really liked the seasoning on all. Al pastor with cactus( nopales) was great. Carne asada taco also had a great flavor. Fish taco was nice and balanced with the cream sauce. Love their handmade tortillas. We will definitely return.“
“I’ve been meaning to try this place for a long time. Finally made it in. The food was very very good. The vibe was fun and lively with the DJ playing Tech house music. Music was at a good volume and could still have a conversation. Service was also very good. DJ was playing Tech music definitely going to be coming back.“
“Such a fun atmosphere and excellent food! Our server Gabriel was friendly and helpful. He recommended the chile relleno and the Branzino and both were uniquely delicious. We also ordered the octopus ceviche for an appetizer and it was tender with incredible flavor. We also shared their homemade soft serve ice cream which was the best I’ve had. We shared this between 4 people and it was plenty of food. We are full, happy, and can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend if you want a great meal in a beautiful place!“
“We came here on a Tuesday afternoon at lunchtime. There is a taco special that is competitive for the level of service, quality, and ambiance. The staff is friendly. The restaurant is clean. I would recommend this to a friend and I would come back. The portions are perfect. The chips and salsa/dips are really delicious.“
“As far as Orange County goes Morena's has been the greatest & well tasting goes, sorry first goes to me ?Was looking for a breakfast spot after some errands, passed by what we thought was the old Sunny's joint, saw the crowded dining area & decided to bust a youie & went in. Staff is on top of their game ?????? Can not wait to try more on their menu ? ?“
“We have lived in FV for over 10 yrs. Never pay any attention to any on the restaurants in this strip because they never last....... tried to go to Shabuya, wait time went from 11 mins. To over 2 hrs. In 30 mins. This restaurant saved the night. The food ????? the service!!!!!!!!!! Even better. They actually do fish and chips the right way, not with soggy beer batter.... thank you so good! Can't wait to come back!“
“Absolutely incredible! I popped it to try one of their mushroom tacos (which was delicious!) and the super friendly girl who worked there let me try the chips & guacamole and a drink on the house. Everything was delicious! I can't wait to come again and again and again!“
“The food was really good, we got the super burrito with Carne Asada & the nachos. It was amazing. The salsa was really authentic & spicy too. The vibe in the restaurant was really cool too, very authentic. This was also very affordable for the portion size (especially compared to other Mexican restaurants around the corner). The service was great too, very attentive.“
“Parking: I'm so happy my girlfriend showed me this great restaurant. I have never come across another sit-down Mexican restaurant that offered free bean dip with their chips and salsa! What a tasty and great start to the meal.Had the combination plate with the chile relleno and my girlfriend had the enchiladas verdes. Both dishes were excellent in taste and quantity of food. Did not need more than 1 item for the combo to get full. They also do not skimp put on the delicious queso.Overall food quality, nice atmospheric vibe. I just loved the decor and entire dining experience. Will definitely recommend this spot to friends. Worth the visit.“
“Really good spot for fish tacos! I would recommend the grilled fish taco. I appreciate that they use high quality fish. The carne asada and pulled pork tacos were average. A bit pricey for a taco shop but good if you are craving fish tacos. They also had Coca Cola in a glass bottle which is also a treat.“
“First time here, visiting OC on vacation and heard that I have to try the Mexican food in SoCal. I’m from Oklahoma, so I have had some good authentic Mexican food. Theirs was otherworldly. The waitress was SO sweet and was giggling and dancing to the music playing genuinely having a good time. It was such a fun atmosphere.Tried the steak and shrimp. I have only had steaks this tender at some of the fine dining spots I’ve been to. So much flavor and so different from what I can get in Oklahoma. If you are thinking about trying this place, PLEASE DO! It’s kind of hidden away but out of the few places I had Mexican food at on my visit, this one was by far the best.It is in my cards down the road to be back in Santa Ana (what a lovely city) more permanently and when that time comes I will frequent this spot!“
“Shrimp tacos with flour tortillas. All day, every day. So bomb. They cost 4.25 a piece, so a little pricey, but we ate it 3 out of 4 days. Order online to pick up. The lobes can get long, and the restaurant is small inside. Must get while in New Port!“
“My new favorite street taco shop in Huntington Beach area. Tri-tip tacos and shrimp tacos are the bomb. The nachos are incredible. The steak quesadilla is big and so good. The atmosphere is very day of the dead-ish meats horror ghost/alien movie theme. The art work is this classic chalk drawings. Service is fast and very friendly. Plenty of parking but during busy times seating gets limited. If they had more tables outside, would be perfect.“
“Brooooo! Im just gonna put it like this. Ive have tortas in Rosarito, ive had tortas in Tijuana, tortas in San Luis Potosi. These are the best mofo tortas west side of the mississippi!!! 15$ for the torta and the large horchata. On the real when i got my order i thought they gave me two tortas!! Its huge!! Red salsa is fire you have been warned!! Had me crying i aint gon lie on ja. Better torta than Cancuj Juice, better torta than Gallo Giro, bettet than Jugos Acapulco and better yhan Tortas Sinalo! Coming back fosho. YT: The Nava Tribe“
“Found this great restaurant when I was picking up a pizza I order and decided to give it a try. I was so happy to have found an official Birria restaurant so close to my home. I normally would have to go to Santa Ana or L.A. just to get a good delicious birria dish. Now I am so happy I gave this restaurant a try birria is delicious and authentic and the customer service is good. The restaurant is small simple not much of a dine in place or have the ambience for staying to dine in but gave this place a 5 star still because the birria is just so delicious and authentic.“
“Best tacos, laid-back atmosphere and consistent service! Our favourite is the Al Pastor Volcan - Marinated shaved pork with pineapple and spices served over a crispy corn taco. Incredibly addicting and as visitors from Canada, this will be something we will miss a ton!“
“We were traveling north on the I-5 and wanted to get some Mexican food. We found this place and it was incredible! There is no Mexican food like the kind you find in Southern California and this place did not disappoint. Do yourself a favor and try the California burrito.“
“Love this place food and service is great but the prices are going crazy...nachos with a couple oz of asada tiny spoon of avocado and sour cream handful of cheese and a cup of refried beans for 15 dollars is crazy. Me the wife and kid cost 59.00 and weren't full. Sad we always get the same items and our bill before shutdown in 2020 was 39.00 same items but now seems like less food too“
“We ordered takeout at the restaurant and it was ready within 10 minutes. We ordered the California burrito, Baja styles fish taco fried, and rolled chicken tacos with beans and rice. The beans and rice were decent and the portion of rolled tacos was generous with guac. I really enjoyed their red salsa too. I would definitely order the burrito and tacos again.“
“Parking is valet only, which we were ok with as parking in this area is rather difficult to find. Cost to valet is only $4 plus tip, was worthwhile.Chips were warm and fresh tasting but the salsa was more like a pico than a salsa. I am good with chunky salsa, but the other members of my dining party weren't fans. I ordered a steak burrito and it was good, but not the best steak burrito I have had. It is served enchilada style, which I am a big fan of.Service here was great, we were seated right away and drinks came quickly as did the food. The atmosphere here is a bit different. While it has great ocean views and a fireplace in the back of the restaurant where we sat, there was a bit of clutter on a few of the tables just past the bar to the right when we came in, which I found a bit out of place and was taken back a bit by. I stayed as this place was recommended by a local to the area. I would probably visit again if I were in the area again, but would be interested in trying something different on the menu.“
“Will always recommend this place to anyone. Fast, amazing prices, and great food. The tacos always have delicious spices and loaded with onions, cilantro and salsa. Staff remembers their customers and are so nice and respectful. Do not leave your car in the street with blinkers on though. It's a neighborhood and I see people do this all the time there is plenty of parking please park your car instead of taking up half the road.“
“Ordered 6 tacos total around noon time.Waited about 5 minutes for the food come out.Host taking the order was very courteous and very informative of all salsa selections available in their format. They also ask if you'd like salt upon wrapping up the order which is pretty cost effective. The flavors of asada 4/5Al pastor 3/5 Quesabirria taco 3/5Cabeza 3/5 (bit greasy)Packaging 5/5Pricing is fair about 2.25 per TacoSpicy salsa is really hot! I'd recommend going 1 tier lower to truly appreciate the meats more. Will be back some time to try their other protein options.“
“Hands-down the absolute BEST Mexican food I have ever eaten!! We had the short ribs enchilada, the chicken nachos and a chimichanga. Cooked to perfection--even the chips are to live for!! We ate outside and watched the sunset while I sipped on a Corona Lite with lime. Service was superb. We will definitely return soon!“
“The Baja Tacos are excellent and very favorable. The food is always good. However, if you are looking for good service this is not the place. The cashier has no customer service skills. He always seems to be angry. The restroom is always out of order. Which is not a big deal because there is public restrooms around the block. The food makes up for the other flaws.Bon appetit.“
“Ambiance: nice and clean, subtle, and family style design. Wasn't too busy but a nice atmosphere.Service: amazing service, quick and friendly. Had no complaints at all. Our server was knowledgeable about different tequilas and helpful with the decisions.Drinks: I just came for a few drinks and had a great time. Had a margarita and tequila on the side. Both were delicious!“
“Always my go to spot for lunch while at work, always consistent food and quality as well. As authentic as you can get, rich salsas, flavorful proteins and delicious sides as well. Definitely worth checking out if your are going to the beach or in the area, you won’t regret it.“
“My wife and I stopped by Carlito's and were pleasantly surprised to find clean, neat establishment with an interesting American/Mexican food menu. We ordered the huevos rancheros and were pleasantly surprised as the eggs came just as we ordered them (her: over easy, me: sunny side up with soft yolks). The refried beans were mercifully fluid instead of the dry, dusty paste often encountered in most restaurants. The chile verde (pork) covering the eggs and taco was absolutely terrific! The service was very good with the manger/proprietor being exceedingly kind and solicitous. I note on some other reviews -- the one star ones -- that they took exception to the food but, for the life of me, I find it hard to believe one would find a clinker in this lot if the establishment could do huevos rancheros as well as they did for us. We will return and visit to check out the other items on the menu but, until then, I suggest you visit and find out for yourself. I am sure you'll be delighted.“
“Quaint Mexican beach restaurant. Loved the fact that it was so close to the beach/you can see it from their outdoor dining area, which is where I sat.My service from start to finish was great. I ordered the 2 tacos with soup for $20ish. Tacos were on point and full of flavor(I ordered my tacos, 2 yr old style with only meat & cheese). The soup could've had a deeper flavor to the broth but still very delicious!Located on a very popular street in Laguna. Would recommend if you're in the mood for a laid back restaurant with classic Mexican food dishes.OHHH & THEIR SALSA = SOO GOOD!Parking - is on the street“
“We took seats at the bar. This place has open door seating , balcony very nice. The salsa came immediately, The bartender is so friendly and has a great voice lol. I ordered the Fred's Margarita and asked for part club soda. The Margarita is strong. This will be a one and done for me. The staff is friendly and they laugh often. The bar atmosphere is good. Not too crowded on a Thur night. The salsa has a great salt/garlic flavor. No heat. It's tasty. While chips are light and salted well. The small crowd was fun. We had a great visit.“
“All amazing at Taco Pronto. Jaime Nancy and Daniella all gave me excellent service. My shrimp burrito was fulfilling , spicy, and easy to eat. Highly well done food for a quick lunch. They also treated me to a free carnita, but that’s because I’m charismatic ?“
“I'm from Chicago, Illinois and my wife and I stopped here to grap a bite to eat.. let me tell you that the shrimp tacos are to die for!! The best I've ever had period!! We also had the nachos they were also great. I wish i would of have taken pictures before but I didn't expect the food here to be outstanding! Thank you Teresita!!“
“We had the Triple Tacos and the Quesobirria. Both delicious! Order something that comes with the Consume and dip your tacos for the full experience. We tried both the hot and mild salsas. The hot has a good kick but also nice flavor, the mild is tasty with just a touch of heat. Tacos come with chopped onion and cilantro, and lime wedges so you can garnish with your preferred toppings. Will definitely visit again.“
“Great food! We ordered two combo plates: chorizo+eggs and carnitas. Food came out piping hot, and the tortillas were hot and fresh, too. I really liked the flavor of the beans. Jarritos sodas were a nice touch too.Cool atmosphere too, with a miniature bar and TV showing sports right at the entry. I'd definitely come back here.“
“As locals, we love coming to Solita - especially for happy hour and Taco & Tequila Tuesday. Great deals and exceptional service. Our last visit, Eddie was our server and he was very helpful and friendly. We have great service, value and quality every visit and will continue to return“
“Tried this place out this past weekend, and it was fantastic! Haven't had Mexican food this good since living in San Diego. When we went on a Saturday at lunch time, my wife and I thought it was closed, there was only one other couple there. We will definitely be back!“
“What a gem! I ordered a delicious "taco bar menu" for 10 with the help of Lida, the owner. The rotisserie chicken & grilled fish was amazing...and the presentation of black beans, rice, guacamole, cheese, and lettuce was perfect. No leftovers here, and so easy for me!“
