“This place is amazing!! So beautiful and cozy. The food is delicious, the wine, the music, the vibe and atmosphere!! Gustavo is a sweetheart. Suggested recommendations, and went out of his way to make us feel fantastic! He went above and beyond to attend to my friend and I. Amber is also very sweet and attentive. My favorite spot from now on. The Tres muchachos, (owners) are very hands on and catering. I strongly recommend this spot to anyone! Beautiful for hosting events too. ??“

“If you're looking for a local fun place to release your creative juices with family, friends or coworkers this is your place! Karen is the owner. She is an artist, wine maker and instructor! This place is clean, adorable and so accommodating! I had a group of about 10+ ladies come for a mixer and this space was perfect for us! It can absolutely accommodate more than 10. They truly go above and beyond service. Highly highly recommend!“

“This place is awesome. Last night was my second time going there. My friend recommended this place to me, because she lives in the area. And every time she recommend something to me or takes me somewhere to eat, it's awesome. The food is unbelievable. The service is friendly and top bar. The drinks are the bomb. The atmosphere is great. I was very happy both times. I would go back again in a minute! And definitely ask James to be your server. He was the best server ever last night. I think I might have had the best filet mignon of my life at this place last night. The grilled lobster is great. The seared scallops are the bomb. I highly recommend it.“

“Got the Tokyo Mazeman regular everything (garlic, etc) and it was AMAZING. Glad they gave rice for the end because I wanted to soak up the leftover sauce and chives. Also, adding their house vinegar really makes the mazeman and cuts into the oils of the sauce - highly recommend. The regular Tokyo version has a small kick, so I also had their draft Asahi to make the experience just right.Vegetarian options: There's a separate section for vegetarian and vegan optionsParking: Parking is easy in the plaza“

Pasta Restaurant

“I don't know why there isn't a long line out in front of this restaurant every night. It is a small restaurant in a location that is slightly off the restaurant beaten path. But it is Onotria, the same owner and chef as the previous iteration of Onotria that has been one of the most highly regarded restaurants in Orange County - and definitely on of the best Italian restaurants in the county for many years. The original Onotria took a hiatus for a few years but is back now in its new location with excellent food - perhaps now a little more innovative and modern. The service also excellent with a little more warmth and attentiveness thrown in, perhaps a consequence of the small venue. There were four of us, we all sampled each other's food and all agreed that it was outstanding as was the service. It's great to have Onotria back. It's definitely one of the "must try " Italian restaurants in The OC.“

“I've been to Knife Pleat half a dozen times for dinner and generally, it's been quite good to excellent depending on the day. Some dishes fail to impress but generally speaking most dishes are exciting, novel, and suffice to say extremely tasty. The desserts in particular have been incredibly creative and interesting. I also find it refreshing to get so many vegetables in a meal of this caliber!Wine pairings have been excellent as well, and the head bartender is very, very skilled. The service is good. All the servers have been incredibly friendly, but the service has felt very rigid and unrefined at various points. What I mean by this is that they are trying very, very hard to do things the "correct" way that it feels very unnatural at times and a bit starling, like when they circle around the table and all stand behind each guest, pause for 2 seconds, then place the dishes down at the same time. I do greatly respect their ambitions, (I think they're going for 2 stars), but this sort of thing I just find silly and unnecessary, even if it was a 2 star.My biggest complaint is just how outrageously priced it is. $295 for 6 courses is deep into 2-star pricing territory. You add in a wine pairing and the mandatory 23% service fee and you're looking at almost $600 per person.I would truly love nothing more than for them to grow into this price point, but as it stands, the meal is quite overpriced.“

“I applaud Linda for standing up for herself in the recent post. The review that was based solely on an almost 5 year Restaurant Impossible episode should not be a basis to rate an establishment!!! Work In Progress Wine Bar •
2944 Randolph Av # 1, Costa Mesa

“We mainly came for there coffee drinks to go but it was definitely really busy in here! Based on Yelp, it seems like their sandwiches are pretty popular here but I actually didn't really see many people order sandwiches. It's a bit of a tight seating besides the outdoor bench that was pretty spacious, but the vibes here were pretty nice. I ordered this toffee hazelnut latte and it was pretty decent! Although it was a lot sweeter than I liked it to be, so the overall drink was okay haha. The parking lot is shared with many other stores, so the parking situation can be tricky, depending how busy it gets.“

I really don’t get people leaving a bad review because they couldn’t use this like a Starbucks, because there’s no wifi or outlets! They are completely missing the point and this places vibe. Go find a Starbucks if that’s what you need. This is a place to slow down and enjoy the scene.“

Cheese Board

“Small and quaint place that has a wonderful staff and selection of wines. The service was fantastic. I usually will not give 5 stars for a mandatory service charge. I honestly like tipping more if service is good (and we did), and always find the mandatory fee strange and some places like to hide it (they did not). Either raise prices and pay a living wage, or follow the state tipping wage and let us tip your fantastic staff! I know it’s a tough choice to make and I am sure you all made yours with calculated minds. Anyway, cute place either way!Recommend the cheese board for sure, and this is a cool place for a date. Parking in back (limited) makes it easily accessible. It is pricey but nothing shocking.“

“Located on the 3rd level of the Crate & Barrel wing in South Coast Plaza, Terrace by Mix Mix is an experience all on its own. The atmosphere caters to both classy and casual, the food exudes refinement and familiarity with strong Filipino, Italian and French influences. Service can be a bit touch and go, depending on how busy the restaurant is. Reservations are suggested as the indoor capacity is small. The terrace outside is modern and welcoming but can be rented out for events, so keep that in mind if you have your heart set on dining outdoors. The portions are nice, and the prefix menu is surprisingly generous. The bone marrow pizza is not to be missed.“
