“The Del Mar roll was the best sushi I have had in a long time and very filling! Ensui Sushi Bar and Grill stands up to their name. It is not the largest place, but it had 3 large TVs with March Madness on each one. I am so glad I found Ensui Sushi and will definitely be back!“
“Was a quiet night being a very rainy Monday. We devoured everything we ordered. Staff were gracious and friendly. Restaurant was clean and immaculate. Music was peaceful. We had one of the best meals we have had in Del Mar. We highly recommend. A must try. Will come back every time we are in town from Idaho.Vegetarian options: The veggie roll was so delicious. One of the best rolls I’ve had!“
“We absolutely loved our experience here and would come back in a heartbeat. The attention to detail, small group setting, high quality fish, and excellent service blew us away. Such interesting and creative flavor combinations without overshadowing the beauty of the fish itself. I’ve never had an omakase experience quite like this and would definitely recommend you splurge and try it yourself!“
“Great owner, great food quality & tastes, but fix-its include: 1) sushi nigiri rice did not stick together so almost all our pieces made sadly fall apart with chopsticks or even gentle finger grip, 2) out of yummy lobster soup by 8:30pm, 3) sunomono needs simple rice wine vinegar sauce not overly hot & distracting spicy sauce, 4) needs to have simple Plum Wine by the glass or bottle (even cheap Takara from Berkeley good), 5) despite OT resy last resy times @ 8:45pm, the lady servers all HOUND you upon seating that now “last call for food as the kitchen soon closes”...how horrible, RUDE & UNGRACIOUS. The lovely & present owner Mitsu, a proud descendant of famed Mr. Ota) hopefully wants to make $$$ & welcome & keep his customers ? Special place, nonetheless.“
“Good Japanese grocery store! I am so happy that it’s located in this area! I like Mitsuwa in general so it gives me comfort when I see it around! They are some restaurants in the store so you get to have hot japanese foods right there! :)Keep up the good work!Cheers ?“
“This is amazing. The sushi is so fresh. Not even a hint of fishiness in any of the sushi. All you taste is the delicious fish. No weird after taste or anything like that. They have amazing specialty rolls. They've got truffles they've got smoker. They will blow your mind. I highly recommend people check this place.“
“I returned to this place after it changed the name and I love the food even moreIt’s good quality and fair pricing is why I come here more oftenThe chefs are great ! The service is ok once given the bill not a thank you or take your time ?Most of all the food is fresh that’s what matters and it was clean“
“My new favorite local sushi spot! Great selection of rolls and great quality for the price! They also have combo options. I've enjoyed everything I've gotten so far. My favorite is the Lemon Cilantro roll. Gotta support my local small businesses!“
“We went to this shopping strip looking for another restaurant but ended up going here. We liked the environment, and the place was pretty busy. The waiter was great and the service overall was very attentive. The sushi variety was good and quality was good, although we are not a big sushi fans. We recommend this place to anyone who loves sushi. They had two options: 1) Order per menu, or 2) buffet for $38.99. We opted for buffet since we do not know much about sushi. This way tried a lot of types of sushi type food and it was good.Parking: Plenty of parking, but the parking lot was pretty full. Plenty of other popular stores and restaurants in this strip.“
“Food is excellent here. It's a feast for your eyes as well as your stomach. The yellowtail Crudo is one of my favorites. Chef Nghi and his staff are top tier. One of the best sushi restaurants in San Diego. You won't be disappointed.“
“I cannot say enough good things about this place. Starting with the owners; they are amazing people who work incredibly hard and care about the community. Their food hits the spot every time. SO good!! They also catered an event for our school and everyone LOVED the food. The restaurant is very family-friendly, and it’s right near the water. Check it out!!“
“Warmly greeted. Seated in a comfortable location in this cozy nicely decorated restaurant. Attentive service. Everything we ordered except for the BBQ beef entree (ok, not great) was really excellent. Our favorite was the salmon avocado roll; it had the perfect proportions and taste. Would eat here again without hesitation but focus on hand rolls, maki and appetizers.“
“I cannot say enough about Domo Kitchen. The food has been great and the service is always good. The Won Ton soup on a cold night is just the right thing.Parking: There's just so much going on in the mall that parking can be a challenge some times.“
“A delicious omakase in San Diego! Shoutout to our cousin for taking us here!We had a reservation at 7:30PM for a Saturday evening meal. I believe we were sat on time and we got right into drinks and the course. Staff was friendly checking in on us and Chef TJ was fun, positive, and created a great omakase environment!I won't go into too much detail of each fish (as the menu can change with each service), but for the value, I thought it was an amazing meal!Parking is relatively easy to find in the plaza.I'm headed back to San Diego next week...so I'm going to have Matoi again :D twice in 2-3 weeks is my kind of vibe!“
“I've been craving some fish and this had really hit the spot! I had gotten the sashimi bowl and it was really satisfying, the fish was cut into larger strips and it was tender and it didn't have a strong fishy smell to it. The rice underneath was quite good as well it was flavorful without being overly vinegar-y. Also if anyone was wondering what the difference was between the sashimi bowl and the sashimi set with rice (both of which are the same price), it seems like there's more rice in the sashimi bowl and there's some crushed seaweed and sesame seeds on the sashimi bowl between the rice and the fish. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, I don't think I would bring more than 2-4 people with me.“
“We came here for sushi shortly after it opened in 2023. the interior decor is reminiscent of sushi houses in japan. for starters, we had shishito peppers (4/5), sea salt edamame (5/5), and garlic edamame (3/5). we followed these with a hatsukoi roll (5/5), gluten free chicken salad (3/5), spicy seafood udon (3/5), and tobkotsu ramen (4/5). oh, we also had spicy scallop handrolls (5/5). hot sake (5/5) was excellent. Service was good.“
“Food was good, salmon nigiri was buttery! Chicken Teriyaki skillet portion seemed a bit smaller compared to other locations though. Atmosphere was great, some tables even get an ocean view! Server forgot to bring a couple of items we asked for (sauces) but not a big deal. Overall a great place to visit, especially for the character buns ?“
“I got the Hand Rolls (comes with 5 rolls... Shrimp, Spicy Tuna, Salmon, Scallops and Yellowtail) and each one was better than the last... super fresh... zero fishy smell... the Scallops was surprisingly my favorite. I've had bad scallops before and wasn't sure what to expect. But its absolutely delicious. They have 5 different sauces to add for dipping, just get them all they are excellent. Service was quick and friendly, I'll be back 100%“
“Ambience is simple but nice and clean, we went there in a busy Sunday and got seated right after 5min ish. Service was good but food was OK. As a ramen & guioza big fan I can tell there’s so many other places that are better flavor wise on those items! I didn’t try anything else so maybe I’ll be back for another shoot in the sushi menu.“
“This place is awesome, the owner is so kind and friendly. I went a few months ago and was so kind. We had questions and he answered them and had such a great energy vibe. Seems like a one man show so you have to understand if it's "slow" but I mean what do you expect. It 's one guy so if you can get past that and put away your preferences for quick fast food and embrace that good food takes time. Then you'll really really enjoy this place. He also gave us Japanese candy for free which was awesome.“
“Perfect place for a date night!!!!! My husband & I hardly ever go out, but I saw an add from Instagram, I HAD TO make it out here. We sat at the sushi bar area & I am SO thankful we did. The downside of this is that the waiters & waitresses take so long to come over, ours only came up to us like 4 times in 2 hours lol. However, sushi chef KIWI was amazing!!!! He guided us on what to get, what's most popular & helped me out since I am not a fan of fish but love shrimp sushi so he worked around my liking & it was the ABSOLUTE BEST sushi I have ever had. He made sure we were taken care of & practically became our own personal chef & waiter lol. He was so nice to us & I really want to put him on a pedestal! The food, my goodness. I can't gather the words man, it was so fresh, not fishy & just a mouth full of authentic flavors. We ordered also the ramen soup. Hands down 100% best ramen we have EVER had. Again, so rich, so creamy & full of flavors I didn't even know existed !!!! Oh, I can't leave out the cheese corn, that corn threw me to the floor, I am half European & Mexican & that corn tops BOTH cultures in corn !!! Another great appetizer we tried was the jalapeño bombs & that was exquisite!!! Spice level is like 3/10 but again bursting in flavor & crunchy. This hidden gem needs to be recognized because man, hands down 5 stars. Drink wise we had the soju beer bomb, it was quite bitter for me I definitely wouldn't order that & I love beer lol but that one was too wheat-ish for me. My husband got this watermelon flavored good day bottle & it was amazing lol that drink we drank as shots, it was very delicious! If you decide to come here please please sit at the sushi bar, ask for kiwi & make him your best friend!!! Enjoy guys! We will definitely be coming back for more !“
“Our favorite in San Diego north county. Great quality, reasonable prices, friendly staff. On the rare occasion they made a mistake, they bc protected it and added something extra too :)They are also good with allergy customers, ensuring no gluten, dairy etc“
“Ramen was great, this is by far one of the best noodles that I have eaten, very QQ in your mouth. I would have gotten an extra order of it. We got the kimchee and spicy miso ramen, they were really good and defs spicy. Their broth is also quite good as well. The pork was way better in the kimchee than the spicy miso for some reason, the kimchee one had way more fat and was more tender.“
“I use to live in SD and my husband and I would frequently get take out from Ahi and Dine-in with friends and family. Super convenient spot as there is something for everyone (sushi/rice/stir fry/ramen) literally so many options. Family owned business and customers are definitely treated like family while dining. I highly recommend the salmon nigiri, caterpillar roll, and egg fried rice! I'm hungry just thinking about it. Also, super cool gundam displays created by the owner/chef!“
“We stumbled upon this spot in search of a light dinner. My husband and I each ordered a roll (Mango Mango and shrimp tempura) with an order of gyoza to share. All of our food was amazing! We arrived within an hour of closing so it was not crowded, and the service was impeccable. We will definitely plan to come back here during our stay in SD.“
“I was craving sushi after church this past Sunday and looked up places close to where I live and URBN sushi stood out because of the good reviews. And it did not disappoint! I ordered the spicy shrimp roll & the bulgogi roll (pictured), and both were absolutely delicious and fresh, and a generous portion size. I have never tried beef with sushi, but it’s a yummy combo and I’m a fan. The complimentary edamame was a nice treat! And I ordered one of the cherry flavored house sodas and it was refreshing. The server was so kind & attentive— excellent customer service, and this restaurant is incredibly clean. This is definitely going to be my go to sushi spot in SD!“
“Literally one of our favorite restaurants ever! We even went for another round!! Their fish and sushi was very fresh and delicious, and the Burmese dishes were so interesting! The service was amazing and they seriously cater to your food restrictions. They make their soup and fried rice with a veggie friendly base, and then give u the option of chicken/shrimp/tofu, etc.We got the golden coconut noodles, grilled salmon, fried rice TWICE, miso soup, tiger shrimp roll, crunchy unagi roll, and chef special roll. We weren’t sure about the coconut noodles but they even let us try a sample before we ordered! Portions are very good too.Would highly recommend!! ?“
“This is a restaurant week review for lunch. I had the soup and sushi mixed plate. The soup was miso with some veggies - I appreciated that it was not overly salted. The sushi platter didn’t taste amazing, maybe the rice was a little dry. I was a little disappointed in the fish flavor. I love the vibe so may go back and try something else next time.Parking: Easier to park on the second floor instead of down by jimbos.“
“Sushi Florist Patrick crafts an exquisite culinary experience, featuring unique delights like Kama toro sashimi, Kogashima A5 Kobe Sando on Japanese milk bread, his signature desert Crispy Burnt Unagi with Nutella Eel sauce, and much more. Engaging with his artisan work is truly unforgettable. Personally, Patrick is extremely warm and charismatic.“
“The decor is beautiful and intimate. The service was fast and friendly. Now to fhe good stuff - the sushi was very fresh and they had appetizers that I was surprised to see! Many sushi places in San Diego tend to be very Americanized, but they had a more authentic variety. The sashimi was delicious and fairly priced.“
“This is a Japanese restaurant where you can enjoy a pleasant meal with fresh ingredients and friendly service.Salmon skin salad is a great appetizer as it combines crispy fried salmon skin with vegetables. The special nigiri set was good and the California roll was well made, had a good texture and the ingredients were fresh.I think it will be a nice and enjoyable time to eat with your lover and family. The bathroom is inside, but it is also located near the restaurant bar, so you can use it comfortably.Udon is delicious because it has good broth, is not salty, and is protein.“
“Very nice staff in a rather deli-like setting. The sushi was good quality with a good variety. My two lesser grades were to the avocados in an octopus ceviche -- tiny cubes nearly impossible to pick up with chopsticks; and "fresh" wasabi that looked more like a green salsa and not very tasty. Parking was a bit of a search since the block the restaurant sits on has been closed off to provide outside tables. When in the area in search of sushi, I'd definitely go back.“
“Our favorite place for delicious Japanese food! I got their Vegetable Delight & was surprised how much food I got. It came with avocado sushi rolls, sunomono noodle salad, green salad, edaname, rice & LOTS of vegetable tempera. There was so much food, I was only able to eat half of it. Took the rest home for lunch the next day. Theor food is yummy & a great value. Super nice staff too!Vegetarian options: Only a few vegetarian options, but all are yummy. In addition to the Vegetable Delight, they also have Veggie Teriyaki, Ginger Teriyaki & Veggie Sukiyaki Bowls.Parking: Plenty of parking.Kid-friendliness: High chairs are available. Some booth seating which is good for small groups & families.“
“Recently moved to the area and decided to stop in on New Years Eve for an early dinner. The place wasn't too busy, but still had a great vibe. We were greeted by Jade, who was super friendly and explained each of the flavors of the Hard Kombuchas and even let us try a few! I had the Key Lime Pie. Their sushi menu is extensive, and has the basic sushi rolls and also specialities. Jade also knew a lot about the menu and the rolls, and recommended the moonlight roll and the grandview. We also got other items on the menu. Overall, we highly enjoyed the place and are happy we have a taproom/sushi in our new home!!“
“Phenomenal seafood, great service (by Jake/Jacob), my only qualm is them not having an espresso martini, on national espresso martini day, because they only do them during the holidays.... PC, we need these martinis year round! Bring them baaaaack!“
“We called ahead of time to make certain they would still be open at 7:30. They said yes so we came to try it out.We had the grilled daing bangus . It is a grilled milkfish with a mango salsa. It was wonderful! We also tried some sushi. They are not a sushi restaurant.“
“We’ve been coming here for years, way before it became popular. We love it, wish I was there right now. From the first visit it became our favorite sushi place in San Diego. We always get the Aloha and Dirty Blonde rolls. And the salmon sashimi. Last time it came out with fresh wasabi, so good! The jalapeño poppers are the best I’ve ever had and the beef gyoza is really good too. Can you tell I’m hungry? One time they had a scallop special that was amazing, I hope they bring it back. Everything we’ve ever had there was good and quality is always consistent. On the downside sometimes the food takes long to come out and you pay before you see the bill (you get it after), and you tip in front of the server - but the upside is they don’t take your credit card away so that’s more secure, just a little awkward to do the math in your head with the server there. We’ll definitely keep going back!“
“It was my first time here and I just want to say that the staff was amazing the sushi rules were very well put together taste very wonderful and they had a very fast service I have to admit I was in love. Like I said it was out of the blue and I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good place for sushi!“
“This place is take out only, so I recommend to order ahead of time, at least one hour before. The service is very slow, so don’t come here on an empty stomach, because you will be waiting for a while. The sushi was decent and fresh. The portions are large and well packed.“
“I am in awe of the spicy ramen. Can’t eat it enough. I’ve never really enjoyed ramen but this place has made me a believer.Service has always been friendly and atmosphere is great for a quick dining experience.Parking can be tricky during peak dining times, lunch and dinner.“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gami Sushi for dinner. From the moment I stepped in, I was impressed with the casual yet inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. But what truly stole the show was the exceptional quality of the fish and the use of fresh wasabi.Despite its casual atmosphere and reasonable price, Gami Sushi manages to maintain a level of quality that exceeds expectations. The friendly staff and attentive service further contribute to the overall positive experience. Whether you're looking for a quick sushi fix or a relaxed evening with friends, Gami Sushi offers a delightful combination of quality food and a laid-back atmosphere. When it comes to sushi, quality is of utmost importance, and Gami Sushi certainly delivered. The fish was undoubtedly top-notch, boasting a remarkable freshness that elevated the dining experience. Each piece melted in my mouth with a perfect balance of textures and flavors. It was evident that great care was taken in sourcing the ingredients, as only the freshest and highest-quality fish made it to the plate.Overall, I highly recommend Gami Sushi. Prepare to be impressed by the vibrant flavors and impeccable sushi craftsmanship.“
“Food is excellent but never order anything online unless you want to pay a huge mark up. I ordered online with the option "no service fee" on the order link, for a take out order I personally picked up at the restaurant. When I got there I was handed this paper. Lessons.“
“Great rolls. Fish is always very fresh. They have a good happy hour. Service is always friendly. Our favorite rolls are Red Dragon, Tasmanian Devil, Albacore Special which are 16-19 bucks each . I believe they have the Chronic Roll on special on Mondays for 1/2 off.“
“This sushi spot is a great option for a speedy lunch or casual dinner. Their hour's are great: even opeb in-between L & D! They won't blow your mind w/ culinary innovation, but you get fresh, decent sushi in a clean & friendly atmosphere. The miso soup was a satisfying starter, hitting the spot with its savory warmth. The tempura was a bit standard but the gyoza pulled up their rating, but all still enjoyable. The sushi rolls were fresh BUT a little underl-constructed, nice choices. The the service & convenience are the best. The wait staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure everything came out quickly. Plus, with a good selection of draft and bottled beers, it's was a relaxing and hassle-free experience.Overall, this restaurant won't be your next special occasion destination, but it's a reliable choice for a quick and tasty sushi fix. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the mood for a no-fuss, fresh meal.“
“Wait times are most of the time crazy, but service is usually great. I very much enjoy the atmosphere of the place. Pricing is decent. it would have an All You Can Eat price though, would make this place better. Food is usually pretty fresh. Parking sucks though, depending when you go.“
“A place I look forward to going to. A HUGE selection of food, including sushi, salads, soups, vegetables, and Asian entrees, including shellfish. The desserts are vast with an ice cream bar with more toppings you can ever use. Service is constant and very attentive. Suggestion: They fill up quickly, especially lunch, so make reservations. If there was a 10 star rating system, this would be a 10.Parking: Fulls up quick, but you can always get one with a little patience.“
“This unassuming, smallish restaurant is a gem. I have eaten there twice, and highly recommend the more unusual dishes - agadashi, yakatori and mango panna cotta dessert. They have a long list of wine, beer and saki. Their sushi is good, but not anything special. Service is attentive; they really take care of you. Recommended for lunch and dinner.“
“12-29-23Our first time dining here. Didn’t have reservation but we were seated right away.-Green Aqua $21- melted in your mouth.-Caterpillar $16- yummy!-Spicy Scallop $9- couldn’t taste the scallops.-Gentleman $17- just ok.-Unagi $9.50- loved the eel sauce.Tonkotsu $15- creamy delicious!Drinks:Hot Sake $7Beer $8Service:Fast. They brought everything we asked for. Nice touch, the bot delivered our food to the table.“
“Nice place ! Really good food , very traditional and good servers ! I read some reviews about this place and I saw people complaining about salt or stuff like that which I don't think it's accurate. From my perspective everything was awesome If you are looking for a good spot this is the place“
“Regardless if you eat at the bar or the dining room- the food will be wonderful. I like to get a bar reservation when I'm in the mood for their unique sushi. I'm always treated to the freshest plates and epic service! The dining room is more limited. A three course dinner and an upscale atmosphere. You really can't go wrong. The Market is a place I frequent regularly.“
