“Recently moved to the area and decided to stop in on New Years Eve for an early dinner. The place wasn't too busy, but still had a great vibe. We were greeted by Jade, who was super friendly and explained each of the flavors of the Hard Kombuchas and even let us try a few! I had the Key Lime Pie. Their sushi menu is extensive, and has the basic sushi rolls and also specialities. Jade also knew a lot about the menu and the rolls, and recommended the moonlight roll and the grandview. We also got other items on the menu. Overall, we highly enjoyed the place and are happy we have a taproom/sushi in our new home!!“
“The food and service here have been excellent both times I've been. The only place where I've had better salmon was in Seattle. The sushi here is very good. I lived in Japan and for about 1/2 an hour I was homesick. Bottom line, eat here. My favorite Japanese spot in San Diego county.“
“Absolutely great experience after a ten year hiatus - we felt very welcomed by our Chef- I and my two friends both left satisfied. Whether it's nigiri or rolls, they've got you covered here. Park in the rear if it's too hectic up front on the 101. And a great place to "walk off" your meal as it's a single block from Fletcher Cove.“
“Regardless if you eat at the bar or the dining room- the food will be wonderful. I like to get a bar reservation when I'm in the mood for their unique sushi. I'm always treated to the freshest plates and epic service! The dining room is more limited. A three course dinner and an upscale atmosphere. You really can't go wrong. The Market is a place I frequent regularly.“
“This is amazing. The sushi is so fresh. Not even a hint of fishiness in any of the sushi. All you taste is the delicious fish. No weird after taste or anything like that. They have amazing specialty rolls. They've got truffles they've got smoker. They will blow your mind. I highly recommend people check this place.“
“My new favorite local sushi spot! Great selection of rolls and great quality for the price! They also have combo options. I've enjoyed everything I've gotten so far. My favorite is the Lemon Cilantro roll. Gotta support my local small businesses!“
“Food is spot on every time we go. But the last few times our table has gotten iced out where none of our additional orders come, service is spotty at best, and it sort of feels like they're trying to kick us out. Just make sure your first round is huge.“
“I cannot say enough good things about this place. Starting with the owners; they are amazing people who work incredibly hard and care about the community. Their food hits the spot every time. SO good!! They also catered an event for our school and everyone LOVED the food. The restaurant is very family-friendly, and it’s right near the water. Check it out!!“
“Warmly greeted. Seated in a comfortable location in this cozy nicely decorated restaurant. Attentive service. Everything we ordered except for the BBQ beef entree (ok, not great) was really excellent. Our favorite was the salmon avocado roll; it had the perfect proportions and taste. Would eat here again without hesitation but focus on hand rolls, maki and appetizers.“
“Visiting from LA and I would drive down here again just for the sushi. Been eating sushi all my life and the quality and taste of the fish is a 10. Additionally, the Fantasy Roll is, by far, the BEST roll I've had in my life. The Tempura wasn't my favorite, but it was by no means bad.“
“Bulgogi pancake and fried rice were particularly delicious. Rolls very good too. Service was good and friendly. Place had a nice vibe, and not too loud - possible to have a normal conversation over dinner without shouting over the music or other patrons. Will definitely be back.“
“Food was good, salmon nigiri was buttery! Chicken Teriyaki skillet portion seemed a bit smaller compared to other locations though. Atmosphere was great, some tables even get an ocean view! Server forgot to bring a couple of items we asked for (sauces) but not a big deal. Overall a great place to visit, especially for the character buns ?“
“I got the Hand Rolls (comes with 5 rolls... Shrimp, Spicy Tuna, Salmon, Scallops and Yellowtail) and each one was better than the last... super fresh... zero fishy smell... the Scallops was surprisingly my favorite. I've had bad scallops before and wasn't sure what to expect. But its absolutely delicious. They have 5 different sauces to add for dipping, just get them all they are excellent. Service was quick and friendly, I'll be back 100%“
“Loved everything that we tried. Tea leaf salad, coconut noodle soup, sushis, chilli shrimp. The owner was super helpful as well despite a very busy day. Great to see Burmese cuisine spot in San Diego as it is one of our favorite Asian cuisines.“
“After eating here, I am convinced that heaven exists. I could spend a lifetime inside this restaurant and not find a single thing to improve. This is the best poke place I have ever been to in my entire life...top quality everything. There is much more than poke here too. It's clean, it's fast, it's a good price, it's delicious, and it's a lot of food.“
“I recently visited Mot'to Japanese Grill and had a fantastic dining experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The interior design of the restaurant was modern and sleek, creating a calming ambiance. The menu at Mot'to Japanese Grill offers a variety of traditional Japanese dishes as well as some unique and creative twists. I highly recommend trying their signature rolls, which were beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The sushi was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the portion sizes were generous. What impressed me the most about Mot'to Japanese Grill was the quality of their ingredients. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and you could tell that they take pride in using only the best ingredients. The attention to detail in each dish was evident and made for a truly memorable dining experience. The service at Mot'to Japanese Grill was exceptional. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations. They also made sure to check on us throughout the meal to ensure that we were satisfied with our food.In addition to the amazing food and service, the prices at Mot'to Japanese Grill were reasonable. I felt that I got a lot of value for my money, especially considering the quality of the food. I will definitely be returning to try more dishes on the menu.Overall, I highly recommend Mot'to Japanese Grill to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Japanese cuisine. The combination of top-notch ingredients, creative menu options, and exceptional service make for a dining experience that is truly outstanding. I can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes.“
“After a few drinks at Draft Republic with some friends, we want to eat some sushi so we came here. I ordered the Casanova. Inside the roll had shrimp, cream cheese and asparagus. The top of the roll had salmon and avocado. Finally the sauce was a spicy Mayo sauce. This definitely hit the spot and nice atmosphere in the restaurant as well!“
“Very nice staff in a rather deli-like setting. The sushi was good quality with a good variety. My two lesser grades were to the avocados in an octopus ceviche -- tiny cubes nearly impossible to pick up with chopsticks; and "fresh" wasabi that looked more like a green salsa and not very tasty. Parking was a bit of a search since the block the restaurant sits on has been closed off to provide outside tables. When in the area in search of sushi, I'd definitely go back.“
“Our favorite in San Diego north county. Great quality, reasonable prices, friendly staff. On the rare occasion they made a mistake, they bc protected it and added something extra too :)They are also good with allergy customers, ensuring no gluten, dairy etc“
“This place is 3 blocks away from home and every time we go the family that owns it has treated our family of 4 with kindness and patience - we have a 6 and a 4 year old. The sushi is great, the soup, also, prices, reasonable and the proximity to home priceless.“
“This place is awesome, the owner is so kind and friendly. I went a few months ago and was so kind. We had questions and he answered them and had such a great energy vibe. Seems like a one man show so you have to understand if it's "slow" but I mean what do you expect. It 's one guy so if you can get past that and put away your preferences for quick fast food and embrace that good food takes time. Then you'll really really enjoy this place. He also gave us Japanese candy for free which was awesome.“
“I was craving sushi after church this past Sunday and looked up places close to where I live and URBN sushi stood out because of the good reviews. And it did not disappoint! I ordered the spicy shrimp roll & the bulgogi roll (pictured), and both were absolutely delicious and fresh, and a generous portion size. I have never tried beef with sushi, but it’s a yummy combo and I’m a fan. The complimentary edamame was a nice treat! And I ordered one of the cherry flavored house sodas and it was refreshing. The server was so kind & attentive— excellent customer service, and this restaurant is incredibly clean. This is definitely going to be my go to sushi spot in SD!“
“This is a restaurant week review for lunch. I had the soup and sushi mixed plate. The soup was miso with some veggies - I appreciated that it was not overly salted. The sushi platter didn’t taste amazing, maybe the rice was a little dry. I was a little disappointed in the fish flavor. I love the vibe so may go back and try something else next time.Parking: Easier to park on the second floor instead of down by jimbos.“
“This is a Japanese restaurant where you can enjoy a pleasant meal with fresh ingredients and friendly service.Salmon skin salad is a great appetizer as it combines crispy fried salmon skin with vegetables. The special nigiri set was good and the California roll was well made, had a good texture and the ingredients were fresh.I think it will be a nice and enjoyable time to eat with your lover and family. The bathroom is inside, but it is also located near the restaurant bar, so you can use it comfortably.Udon is delicious because it has good broth, is not salty, and is protein.“
“Used to be absolutely in love with Tabu however this last time I went back after years to a new location I've never tried and quality has definitely shifted slightly on the negative side. I still enjoyed my food but the old quality was missing. The staff seemed a little distracted and not on top of the tables. The atmosphere was nice though. I really enjoyed the decor.“
“The Del Mar roll was the best sushi I have had in a long time and very filling! Ensui Sushi Bar and Grill stands up to their name. It is not the largest place, but it had 3 large TVs with March Madness on each one. I am so glad I found Ensui Sushi and will definitely be back!“
“The decor is beautiful and intimate. The service was fast and friendly. Now to fhe good stuff - the sushi was very fresh and they had appetizers that I was surprised to see! Many sushi places in San Diego tend to be very Americanized, but they had a more authentic variety. The sashimi was delicious and fairly priced.“
“This place is take out only, so I recommend to order ahead of time, at least one hour before. The service is very slow, so don’t come here on an empty stomach, because you will be waiting for a while. The sushi was decent and fresh. The portions are large and well packed.“
“Phenomenal seafood, great service (by Jake/Jacob), my only qualm is them not having an espresso martini, on national espresso martini day, because they only do them during the holidays.... PC, we need these martinis year round! Bring them baaaaack!“
“It was my first time here and I just want to say that the staff was amazing the sushi rules were very well put together taste very wonderful and they had a very fast service I have to admit I was in love. Like I said it was out of the blue and I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good place for sushi!“
“We called ahead of time to make certain they would still be open at 7:30. They said yes so we came to try it out.We had the grilled daing bangus . It is a grilled milkfish with a mango salsa. It was wonderful! We also tried some sushi. They are not a sushi restaurant.“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gami Sushi for dinner. From the moment I stepped in, I was impressed with the casual yet inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. But what truly stole the show was the exceptional quality of the fish and the use of fresh wasabi.Despite its casual atmosphere and reasonable price, Gami Sushi manages to maintain a level of quality that exceeds expectations. The friendly staff and attentive service further contribute to the overall positive experience. Whether you're looking for a quick sushi fix or a relaxed evening with friends, Gami Sushi offers a delightful combination of quality food and a laid-back atmosphere. When it comes to sushi, quality is of utmost importance, and Gami Sushi certainly delivered. The fish was undoubtedly top-notch, boasting a remarkable freshness that elevated the dining experience. Each piece melted in my mouth with a perfect balance of textures and flavors. It was evident that great care was taken in sourcing the ingredients, as only the freshest and highest-quality fish made it to the plate.Overall, I highly recommend Gami Sushi. Prepare to be impressed by the vibrant flavors and impeccable sushi craftsmanship.“
“Food is excellent but never order anything online unless you want to pay a huge mark up. I ordered online with the option "no service fee" on the order link, for a take out order I personally picked up at the restaurant. When I got there I was handed this paper. Lessons.“
“What really sends this place to 5 stars is the price you get here. The food is good, above average, but not the best you can get. However, it's probably the best food you can get at that price anywhere in the county. If you like eel, get the Unagi donburi!“
“Great rolls. Fish is always very fresh. They have a good happy hour. Service is always friendly. Our favorite rolls are Red Dragon, Tasmanian Devil, Albacore Special which are 16-19 bucks each . I believe they have the Chronic Roll on special on Mondays for 1/2 off.“
“A place I look forward to going to. A HUGE selection of food, including sushi, salads, soups, vegetables, and Asian entrees, including shellfish. The desserts are vast with an ice cream bar with more toppings you can ever use. Service is constant and very attentive. Suggestion: They fill up quickly, especially lunch, so make reservations. If there was a 10 star rating system, this would be a 10.Parking: Fulls up quick, but you can always get one with a little patience.“
“This unassuming, smallish restaurant is a gem. I have eaten there twice, and highly recommend the more unusual dishes - agadashi, yakatori and mango panna cotta dessert. They have a long list of wine, beer and saki. Their sushi is good, but not anything special. Service is attentive; they really take care of you. Recommended for lunch and dinner.“
“Being someone who loves sushi, this is definitely a great place to stop. My friend had talked about Rolled Up and wanted to introduce it to us. I walked around Windmill Food Court and decided that I was wanting to try some sushi. I had never tried a Sushi Burrito before and have heard a great deal of good things about it. I ended up going with The Works Sushi Burrito, and man was it delicious. Loved the great selection of fish, tempura, and vegetables that made up the inside of the burrito. High quality ingredients. My burrito took about 15/20 minutes to be made, whilst others in my group only waited for about 5. It was fantastic, but for $20 I would say it definitely is an expensive meal. If you are willing to shell out the $20 I would definitely say it's worth a try!“
“Was a quiet night being a very rainy Monday. We devoured everything we ordered. Staff were gracious and friendly. Restaurant was clean and immaculate. Music was peaceful. We had one of the best meals we have had in Del Mar. We highly recommend. A must try. Will come back every time we are in town from Idaho.Vegetarian options: The veggie roll was so delicious. One of the best rolls I’ve had!“
“J Box @ The Island is by far my favorite lunch spot. I come here at least 1-2 times per week. They have the freshest Poke around. They really ruined all the other Poke places for me because every time I try one - I always compare it to theirs and it is never as good.“
“This is a funky, earthy place. Incredible food and really friendly and informal staff. The space is small and the chairs at the bar not super comfortable, but it has a great beach vibe and most importantly tasty food. I had a strawberry mojito flavored hard kombucha on draft, very good. The server had lots of recommendations and I went with the Grandview roll and the Crispy rice. Both were great. Spicy and a touch pricy, but it’s sushi and California so not unexpected. Overall, a good spot to grab some tasty eats and experience a little local culture. I’d go back!“
“Best SUSHI in North County San Diego!!!! Aaron the Sushi Chef is a Master Sushi Chef, Bill the owner makes sure he has the best freshest fish possible…. Don’t forget to order my favorite soup Hot Pot of Chicken Wonton Soup WITH Extra Bok Choi and garlic ….. All the Curries are to die for.. the Thai Boat platter is great !“
“One of my favorite sushi spots ever continues to never disappoint! I don't typically order the same thing since they have their specialty rolls that change monthly. I like to see what the latest rolls are at the moment. I ordered the no rice roll and another roll. Both were delicious! As always, I ordered their house salad and miso soup that were just as great.“
“I love quite a few of their veggie dishes. Service is always attentive and whatever you ask for they bring it right away. It is a nice place as the music is not to loud and even when the place is packed you don't feel like getting in each other shoes.“
“Absolutely loved this sushi restaurant! I got the double salmon tempura roll, and the baked salmon roll and they were both absolutely delicious.Service was great and they got a 30% off happy hour from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM each day which is awesome.“
“I didn't start shopping here until all the inflation hit us, and it has been a miracle place for me. I wish I had shopped here before then. Prices are good and their bulk section is awesome. Hopefully some day they'll get curbside pickup“
“No fusion or crap piled on my food JUST sushi legit.. not fake madeup dishes , one chef that is humble and takes time to give the best quality sushi in san diego. Seating of about 40 people possible at this location the secret hole in the wall that more people need to eat @“

“It's a struggle to stay afloat as a business in this day and age, but it just doesn't have much to remember. Music was all over the place from Latin Banda/Mariachi to random pop music. Tvs with sports, but it's not a sports bar and who's watching golf at 8pm?? Good is ok, expensive, but what isn't ?♂️. Maybe a solid happy hour or a design refresh to make it more enticing to come in.“
“Chef Patrick is an artist! He and his team are the perfect choice for a special evening! We hosted 7 VIP business clients for dinner and the evening was perfect. Each course was uniquely wonderful in sight, smell and taste. The entire meal felt like an experience in the best sushi restaurant, but even more special in the comfort of our home. As a discriminating traveler of many outstanding dining experiences, I would absolutely recommend Sushi Florist for your event!“
