“This is my favorite place to grab an ice cream. There are so many options to choose from (including dairy free ice creams) and they’re delicious! The portion size is also good for the price - which is so rare to find these days.Service has always been friendly too!“
“I read the 1 star review by Rachna and she's a crusty old tart lol. This place is legit one of the best Italian spots I've been to while visiting Socal. There were only 2 employees working the night I came. For 1, it was their first day. But all the same they helped me find good tasty pizza. It came out hot and fresh too. The dessert was the best part. Super tasty and I'll definitely be coming back with friends. :)“
“Four of us each had two scoops so we tried 8 different flavors. We all thought the pomegranate pistachio was the best of our selections. Overall they were all good. The texture was different but it didn’t bother anyone in my group. The pricing was what I’d expect this close to the beach and the facility was clean and the staff pleasant.“
“Food (5/5 stars): Cali Cream is a great ice cream spot in Encinitas! It's very similar to Handel's as they have lots of the same flavors and the 4 scoop sampler, which we ordered! My favorite by far was the Graham Central Station. I wasn't too thrilled about the other ones we ordered (Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Birthday Cake, and Faddy Daddy), but I'll be back to try more because the quality of their ice cream is amazing. Experience (5/5 stars): * Price: reasonable * Wait Time: minimal on a Friday evening * Service: good * Parking: street parking is not too bad * Ambiance: it's a nice, simple ice cream shop, but no indoor seating“
“Wanting to forego cake at our wedding, we opted to work with The Baked Bear to serve ice cream cookie sandwiches instead, as The Baked Bear is husband's favorite! We are so glad we did! Our guests raved about the cookies and ice cream (with one guest reporting he ate FOUR whole sandwiches-- that's how good they are). Outside of our wedding, we love visiting The Baked Bear for special treats and when guests visit town. Highly recommend working with The Baked Bear not only for your wedding, but for any time you need your cookie and ice cream fix. Thank you, The Baked Bear!!“
“I ordered the Tropical Cooler. It was low calories and tasted pretty good. Note that their smoothies all come in three sizes: small, medium, and large. The menus show two separate calorie values, which are for the small and medium sizes respectively (the number of calories for large smoothies is not provided).“
“They have a very cool idea of keeping the theme of the previous business. This location is a hat maker theme and the other location is a dry cleaning theme. The flavors of the ice cream are unique and vibrant. The customer service is amazing. Make sure you start with a flavor tour!“
“The storefront is small, but the employee who helped us was very friendly. The serving size for a double scoop was generous, and the quality was good.Try the mint chip! It's a really excellent version of what it is.Vegetarian options: All of the ice cream is vegan.Dietary restrictions: This place is good for anyone eating vegan or gluten-free. It's even Celiac-safe!Parking: Easy parking, though the storefront itself is tucked into the office park.“
“Stopped here for an after dinner treat. Even though they were busy, we never felt rushed. From telling us to sample every flavour, recommendations to similar flavours after we found one we liked, to the most perfect scoops I’ve ever seen.Oh, and the ice cream was smooth, creamy and as flavourful as it comes. Tasted as advertised and better. If I don’t stop there 3 times during my vacation I’ll be shocked!“
“I had a wonderful experience at Salt and Straw. Elizabeth honored the “taste it all” policy and I was more than impressed by that! While she did question my milkshake flavor combinations, she still went above and beyond! I will definitely be coming back soon, specifically to order my delicious milkshake!“
“We’re new to boba, and this has become a family favorite! The staff are super friendly and helpful. They also have a generous drink remake policy — if you try a new flavor and don’t like it, they’ll make you a new one! This location is great about supporting the community, too! They’re always doing fundraisers, which is how we first found out about them.Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating of food restrictions“
“There are new specialty lattes and so I went with the iced blackberry vanilla latte with whole milk. I'm pretty used to blackberry lattes, I make them at home. This one was very sweet. I probably wouldn't even order this drink again, even at half sweet. This costed $6. I'll stick with my iced honey lavender lattes next time! They have a bathroom here, you have to ask for the 'key'. It's so clean and smells great inside. The woman working was soo sweet and friendly.“
“Delicious gelato! Not way too sweet like most American places do it. Variety of real-tasting options. And the price for the portion you get is fair! Would definitely return if in the area. Storefront is very cute and the workers are genuine Italians!“
“I was passing by an ice cream shop, but there was a long line, so I decided to give it a try.It was a traditional ice cream shop that has been around since the 1900s.There were many original items on the menu, including sweet and refreshing ice creams that Americans seemed to like. There were three or four cashier counters, so even if you were in line, your turn came quickly. Many of the staff members are women, and they work very efficiently.Everyone had wonderful smiles.“
“Authentic Italian Bakery! How did I miss this place?! So unassuming, hole in the wall bakery tucked in the corner of a shopping plaza. The pictures speak for themselves. Delicious and authentic. Don't come here expecting American style pastries or sandwiches. It's amazing and the quality is there! I've been to Italy, husband is from France so his expectations are always high when it's an European bakery. He loved the Italian sandwich and Italian ham especially. As for the prices, it's on par with the quality, did I hear imported Italian flour?! Yes. Italian family owned bakery where you hear them speaking Italian? Yes. Cute Italian mom and dad hanging out in the bakery? Yes. You can't get more authentic than that. My new favorite local bakery.Kid-friendliness: Yes“
“Whenever I see a mcconnells ice cream store, I've got to stop by and get me some haha. This location is very clean and offers a variety of flavors and samples. Easy access to park or sit outside. I was helped by a friendly worker who was by her self but took care of everything and there was no wait. I chose the small size but I like how I can pick two flavors. I went with earl grey lavender and my gf got strawberry & shortbread cookie. The plus side is you can get a free cone on top. Also they were giving out free cookies which was awesome! I recommend trying mcconnells“
“Please serve bigger scoops for what people are paying for is all I'm saying respectfully so. I paid $9 for two tiny scoops wasn't enough for myself and a baby. So had to end up giving my rations to the baby which was mostly all of the ice cream. I'll try again another time in hopes of good changes.“
“The OPERA and CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER were delicious! My daughter loved her Black Vanilla. We have been to the Encinitas location many times and love Tiramisu and Salted Caramel flavors if those happen to show up here. The worker was a sweetheart. It's such a great location, just up from the beaches. I am so happy to have one closer to me. I enjoy their gelato as much as anything I tasted in Italy. It's really fresh and natural.“
“Just another typical ice cream place in town. They got my attention because they have a set of classic flavors & a set of monthly flavors that rotates frequently. Recommend the owners to update the signage on the wall with different font colors. It's kind hard to “
“Solana Sumptuous falls into the top 3 cookie places in SD county for me; specifically because they make a mean oatmeal chocolate cookie (OAT-M-G). I was introduced to this place by a co-worker who brought in several dozen for us to try on a couple of occasions. Ive had a few different flavors like their Solana Beach, PB, the OG chocolate chip, sea salt caramel, churro, and the Trifecta (stuffed), but the oatmeal chocolate is still my favorite. Single cookies range from $3-$4.50 depending on which one you get, and definitely place an order ahead of time if you're getting more than a few to ensure they have what you want. The in-store service is good and there always seems to be a constant stream of people popping in for a treat.“
“Tiny hole in the wall yogurt shop in Carlsbad Village with the BEST peanut butter yogurt EVER. Omg I want to eat all of it. It's so smooth and delicious!! It's worth stopping in while at the farmers market on Wednesday afternoon!!“
“It's huge and delicious!!! I had strawberry cheesecake and there was a lot of cheesecake on it. It is a little less chewy than Vera, but has a softer taste. The strawberry syrup is not too much or too sweet, so it harmonizes well with the vanilla flavor. But there is really no end to eating it.“
“Very pretty shop. Ordered and then half the order was out of stock after we had paid. Ordered a blended iced taro drink. I didn't know it had boba. I didn't want boba. The boba was hot, so the drink melted quickly. The taste was good but overall the drink was not very satisfying. The staff was friendly but lacked knowledge of the availability of product, and also didn't know what creamer was for coffee.“
“Randomly searched “ice cream near me”. What a treat! The flavors are inventive and delicious. Taylor, the woman at the counter was amazing. She let us, me, my partner and our 2 kids sample any flavor available. We loved it! Definitely be back next time we visit the area.“
“This location is by far the BEST of all the Nekter Juice Bar's. The owner is AWESOME and is always here. Our orders are always consistent and customer service is great! What sets this location apart from the rest is the bang for the bucks and the customer service. Unlike the other Nekters around San Diego I have been to (La Jolla, Encinitas, and Carlsbad), when you order a fresh juice with ice, this location will give you a second cup with the remaining juice for the size you ordered. If you have a 32oz juice and the ice takes up 4oz, you will get the 4oz of juice in a second cup. They don't toss it out like other places. The customer service industry is deteriorating rapidly and you don't get that feeling when you come here. We are happy to call this our Spot!“
“The live band was very talented. The pizzas were great! And the vibe was chill and happy. It looks like locals and those staying at the campground (the Camp Store is located within the campground) all enjoyed the place. What can get better than an evening with music and food on bluff overlooking the beach and ocean!?Dietary restrictions: Gluten free crust option“
“Frugos frozen yogurt shop is the reason my dogs and I have trust issues. Every time we walk by, their puppy eyes light up like it's Christmas morning because they know it's pup cup time! I mean, who can resist those adorable faces? And let's talk about the toppings - they're like the Willy Wonka factory of frozen yogurt! Sour gummy worms? Check. Sprinkles? Double check. I may be an adult, but when it comes to toppings, I'm basically a kid in a candy store. Dont judge me or @ me. My wallet may weep when I see the final bill, but hey, a little indulgence never hurt anyone, right? Plus, bonus points for the super friendly staff who always greet us with smiles bigger than our yogurt mountains. And don't even get me started on the convenience of being next to a Pizza Hut. It's like they know exactly what we need - a dessert AND dinner option all in one spot. Frugos, you've officially won over my heart (and my taste buds). Five stars, no question! Why are we always here I swear I can't stand us mwahahah“
“Oh. My. Stars. this ice cream spot was SO delicious!! The flavor options were super unique, and I loved that it was nestled in a perfect spot to sit & enjoy. We enjoyed an ice cream sandwich made with brown butter pecan ice cream between the nutty chocolate chip cookie and my goodness, it was delicious!!!“
“Such a big variety of tastes and textures. Cookies are so big and soft.Dietary restrictions: Great selection and choices and non-dairy and gluten free options but can be limited.Kid-friendliness: Kid approved flavors and non-dairy options if it is needed.“
“Crumble cookies was recommended to me with a lot of hype. Usually when I hear a lot of great things about a place I am skeptical. Although they came with a lot of hype they surely lived up to it. I was amazed by the scent of the aroma of the cookies. The air filled with the smell of butter and baked goods. You know this is a high-end bakery when you see everything incased in glass walls. I came here with my wife and we couldn't make up our mind, everything looks so delicious. After 15 minutes of discussion and 5 minutes of recommendation from the cashier, we decided on the almost everything bagel cookie, Apple crumb cake cookie, and a salted caramel cheesecake. It took all of our willpower to not order more, so we were so tempted. My favorite out of the three was the salted caramel cheesecake, it had two of my favorites desserts ingredients, cheesecake and salted caramel. My wife preferred the apple crumb cake, she said it tasted just like a pie. I just love the atmosphere here, everything looks so clean and sanitized. I'm a stickler for sanitation especially when it comes to baked goods because I know that spoiled milk or butter can kill a cookie. I Appreciate everything that this place has to offer.“
“The girl working was super sweet and asked if I was okay with the various fruits and toppings they had. 10/10 experience and the fruti locos were the best I’ve had in North County. Will definitely be going back for more and to try the other items on their menu.“
“If you love strawberries you need to come here. They have so many yummy options made with their strawberries. I got a bowl of just the strawberries and they were so good. I also recommend the strawberry lemonade. No designated parking. It's a walk up window but they do have some minimal seating.“
“Wow, if you love ice cream, this is your dream place. At first, you would think the prices are high, but one single is far more than what you can enjoy. We always share and ask to split in a cup. You purchase at the outside window, and the menu is displayed. Outside picnic benches with umbrellas to sit and enjoy!Vegetarian options: Vegan options always available“
“While driving south to La Jolla we looked for a place to eat and decided to try Shake Shack. We are so glad we did! Burgers were fresh, not frozen. Tasty and we wanted more! Sauce had a bit of a kick to it. Only complaint is there are no combo meals. Only ala cart. But we'd go back, for sure!“
“I had been craving an Esquite (with Cheetos) for quite sometime.. finally got it today!Vegetarian options: Corn on the cob, Esquites, nachos, ice cream, fruit cups, chips, mangoes, fresh fruit drinks and combos.Kid-friendliness: A lot of fun and unique ice cream flavors! Chips!Wheelchair accessibility: Entryway is pretty wide (2 doors).“
“Gelato 101 is the best gelato shop in San Diego, maybe even in the USA. When we go to have gelato there, we feel like we are in Italy. So authentic! They are very creative with their flavors and of course have the traditional flavors as well. The family that owns it is so hospitable and great customer service. My absolute favorite is getting a scoop of coffee and scoop of sea salted caramel and having them pour a shot of espresso over it!!! YUM!!! My mouth is watering as I type just thinking about it. Please don't waste your time going to any other gelato shop.“
