Granite Lion Cellars Winery • $$
2801 Jamul Highlands Rd, Jamul

“We visited from Miami on a cross country drive, and this was the closest vineyard to San Diego. They have a Groupon for wine flights for groups of up to 8, including $10 off coupons for take-home bottle purchases (their mini bottles make great souveniers). They do not sell hot food, but they have food trucks on site on the weekends, and they allow food deliveries to the location if you want to order some. They also have a build your own charcuterie option where you can select cold cuts and crackers for your table from their fridge. We had a great time. The property grounds have beautiful farm animals like chickens, cows, and goats as well as nice scenery and greenery for some nice family photos. The hostess wasn't incredibly personable with our group, but she made sure our glasses were filled and always came over with a smile when we needed her. We will gladly stop by again the next time we are in San Diego.“

Pearson Brothers Honey Winery. Winery •
7123 Dehesa Rd, El Cajon - 7.67 miles

“The food and honey wine and sparkling wine were all great. I especially enjoyed the dessert course. that was like poundcake with fruit and clotted cream, and a little Brandy drizzle. Yum! Love the ambience of the peaceful canyon wilderness, as well as the friendliness of our hosts. A great way to spend an afternoon -reasonable prices, and to go bottles available at a discount! My boyfriend and I loved our day(oh, and he loved the friendly dogs too). I am giving a gift certificate to my daughter-in-law to enjoy Pearson Brothers Winery and we plan to go back.“

Valentina Vineyards and Farm Winery •
17043 CA-94, Dulzura - 7.54 miles

“We just spent a wonderful day visiting Valentina Vineyard with the best hosts - Lupita and Lance. They spoiled us with their amazing hospitality. As we enjoyed tasting many of their beautiful wines (so many great ones, you have to go yourself), we also had the opportunity to taste their delicious olive oil, honey, and even some marmalade. And because everything was so good, we had to purchase all these to bring home with us to enjoy. So many people in San Diego don’t realize we have this and many other vineyards in Dulzura and Jamul. These are hidden gems to be discovered. And while you’re down there, stop in for the best tacos at the Dulzura Market and Taqueria right next door.We look forward to going back again and again“

Dulzura Vineyard and Winery Winery • $$
17323 CA-94, Dulzura - 7.91 miles

“We came from out of state and found this vineyard on Google Maps. Being that that is how I found it, I cannot leave CA without writing a 5-star review for the owner, Grant. My husband and I were the only ones in the tasting room when it opened and this allowed us to have a nice tasting and good conversation with Grant. We left with very fresh olive oil, dessert wine and 2 bottles of wine. Having been to Sonoma 6 mos ago, we enjoyed Dulzura very much for the feel of a smaller and more intimate experience. Thanks Grant!“
