“There are a lot of wine bars and wine tasting rooms to choose from in Carlsbad and Encinitas but this place is serious. It's a few blocks off of the main, tourist-ridden downtown area of Carlsbad and has a quiet, warm, separate world ambiance. I felt transported to the countryside, sitting in a barn with no traffic noise and surrounded by casks. The owner was on hand to answer questions and the server was generous, friendly and knowledgeable. There were plenty of tables with comfortable stools and heaters. I tried a great Petite Verdot and took home some bottles. Their wine club is a great value too.“
“What a gem! Ambiance is wine shop and old rhymes. Love that you can pick out a bottle and drink it there or get a glass from the wine list. Small bites like flatbread and cheese samplers. No kitchen food. Servers love wine and are super helpful with suggestions. See what you like and you can even become a member. Special wine dinners and tasting events. Can't wait to go back for more sips.“

Everyone loved the venue, not too big not too small - and the wine selection was great! Carruth is my Cheers - my fav spot in the Village.“
