25 Best Wineries in Temecula

Akash Winery & Vineyard Winery •
39730 Calle Contento, Temecula

“I love how modern it was here! They had longer hours of operation and had more than just wine! I'm talking beer and agua frescas too! I think this is a spot to please everyone in the group. Lots of seating indoors and outdoors, there's also a specific section for members only and I noticed the live music was located there, but you can hear it from all around. This was our last stop for the day and I'm so glad we did! Unfortunately we came after 5pm so they were no longer doing tastings, so we opted for a glass of wine and tried their other drinks after. They have different food pop-ups, and today they had pizza, sandwiches, and salad. Sat outside and caught the sunset then stayed til closing to finish catching up with friends before going home. They had plenty of heaters and fireplaces outside, definitely worth visiting.“

Wiens Cellars Wineries • $$
35055 Via Del, Ponte Rd, Temecula

“Mike was the B-E-S-T best. My girlfriend and I sat in the corner like two little creepers and he kept us giggling and NOT thirsty! As far as wines go, the reserve chardonnay, 2021 red crowded and the 2020 reserve sage petite Sirah were the winners! (And I always leave with bottles on bottles of the brut rosé) CHEERS!“

Somerset Winery Winery • $$

“We were helped by Jocelyn who is an excellent staff member at the vineyard. She was patient with us as we chose our wines and treated us with a fun and welcoming attitude. The grounds are gorgeous! You can get right up to the grape vineyard rows and take pictures, watch the sunset, and enjoy live music and rotating food trucks. They offer a variety of lawn games, tastings, and their storytelling is top notch. Fun for the whole family. Even your dogs! Highly recommend.“

The Restaurant at Leoness Cellars Wineries • $$$
38311 De Portola Rd, Temecula

“We came here to check out Leoness for our wedding venue and ended staying for lunch.....and WOW! So glad we did! The food was amazing! Highly recommend the lamb and the chicken!! Amanda P. gave us great service as well! And oh yeah....we ended up hiring Leoness for our wedding! I have to give a VERY special shoutout to an extraordinary person at Leoness....Melody Miller! When we first went to tour the vineyard for our wedding venue we were greeted by Melody and Deanna. Mind you this was our 3rd tour of the day and I had my fill of wedding coordinators trying to pitch us and convince us their vineyard was where we should have our wedding. Melody was different from the start! (And I'll say this....Leoness Cellars sells itself! Stunning property!) She really had a feel for me (my partner was unfortunately home with covid so I was facetiming him during the tour), our wants and needs. When she said "I want you guys to have the wedding of your dreams!" I really believed her.....more so than anyone else I met that day or during any other venue tour. After the tour we sat and went over the pricing, and never once did I feel any pressure from her. A few days later Melody informed me that she was leaving Leoness for personal family business and I have to say that it REALLY bummed me out. BUT she gave me her information and let me know that if there was anything she could do to help us to make our dream wedding come true she would do her best....again.....I TOTALLY BELIEVED HER! I kept in touch with her even though Deanna was our contact person from that point on. Deanna left a VERY bad taste in my mouth and lacks the connection and sincerity to be a good wedding coordinator. So much so that she completely ghosted us the day we were ready to sign the contract and pay the deposit! I reached out to Melody and she informed me that Deanna quit!!! SERIOUSLY?!?! I had no idea who to talk to at that point because we didn't want to lose the date for our wedding! Like a superhero swooping in to save the day, Melody told me not to worry and that she knew who was taking over and would make the call for us to ensure we would have the wedding of our dreams! (Are you seeing the theme here?!?) Melody bent over backwards for us to make things happen even though she was not longer working at Leoness Cellars! SHE LITERALLY SAVED OUR WEDDING! That is how much she genuinely cares about her clients!! She put us in contact with Ryan, who is picking up the mess that Deanna left and I have to say that so far he is doing a remarkable job! We canNOT wait to have our wedding there! To the Owner(s), CEO, COO and/or whoever else is in charge at Leoness Cellars: BRING MELODY MILLER BACK!!!! SHE IS AN ASSET TO YOUR BUSINESS!!!“

Wilson Creek Winery Wineries • $$
35960 Rancho California Rd, Temecula

“Beautiful winery with great service. Our group came on a really packed Saturday, and as busy as it was, the service was 5 stars. We really loved the wine tasting experience here and the ambiance was really great! There was something for everyone, we enjoyed being upstairs for the tasting and chatting with staff as well as the more lively crowd downstairs, and then still the kiddos have a play area downstairs by the creek. Food was ok, but the slushie was stellar. If you get a chance, go!Food & drinks: Food is decent, but the wine is lovely. Even the wines more on the dry end were very smooth. Try the wine tasting here for an unforgettable experience“

“My wife and I really enjoy this place. With their large selections of wines to taste and purchase. Greg in the Bolero tasting room is fantastic, with his knowledge of the wines which are served there. He is very helpful, friendly and courteous not to mention his sense of humor. We also went to their new Italian tasting room, which has some nice views of the country side.“

Halter Ranch Temecula Winery •
41300 Ave Biona, Temecula

“Walked in for some wine tasting and had a great experience at Halter Ranch. The service was awesome. All of the staff were very friendly. The wines were delicious. The Malbec was my favorite. Also a bottle of 2009 Syrah, not on the tasting menu, was opened and I got to try it. It was fabulous. I left with two bottles each. Pizza is made on the weekends. If I had been hungry I would've tried it too; next time I guess. I will definitely visit again!“

Peltzer Winery Wineries • $$
40275 Calle Contento, Temecula

“I've been a wine member here for about a year, and I can't believe I haven't left a review! This place is one of the most popular wineries in Temecula for a reason. Plus, adding the benefits of being a wine member makes all the more reason to visit Temecula regularly.I hosted my birthday here in December, and they treated us amazingly! They gave us our own table in the members section, and it didn't cost anything! I called and reserved it ahead of time, and they took very good care of us. Other wineries nearby wanted to charge over $100 per person! Crazy if you ask me.This is one thing about Pletzer, they want everyone to experience a good time, and great wine from the wine enthusiasts to the beer drinker to the mom and dad who need to get out but have to bring the kids - they have something for EVERYONE! Even if you don't want to be around kids, come later when it's 21+ .I can go on and on about this place, but you need to experience it for yourself. And when you do, don't forget to sign up for their wine club!“

Frangipani Estate Winery Winery •
39750 De Portola Rd, Temecula

“We went on Saturday 01-27-24. We knew the vines would not have leaves; we will certainly return in the summertime. There were at least 3, happy dogs roaming around indoors. This just added to the laid-back and friendly feel of this winery. It was in the 70s, somewhat-windy outside, but we opted to sit outside anyway and enjoy the sun with our wine. We tried some reds. All were delicious. This was our Saturdate, and well worth the trip to this family-owned winery, followed by some shopping in Old Town Temecula. We can't wait to bring our friends to enjoy an afternoon at this winery. Lastly, the hosts and owner were quite friendly. We saw a picnic table area, but nobody was sitting there- it must be for big groups. I recommend calling to make reservations.“

Julie's Dream Winery Distillery Vineyards Winery •
39820 Calle Contento, Temecula

“Hey Yelpers! Came here with some fam who come here often. This place is very nice. The atmosphere is laid back but looks amazing. The pics do it justice. The wine is excellent. We tried the viognier and the cab sauv and loved them. My wife and sis in law are wine aficionados and they loved everything they tasted. I did as well, but am really only into whites that are a little sweeter. As for the service, Angie, Debbie, and Trisha helped us and are awesome. We also were introduced to the owner Julie and she is so nice and attentive. I'm watched as she walked free front patio making sure the chairs were all pushed in. Not in an OCD kinda way but in a "cares about her business" kinda way. It was great to see. I know there are a lot of options in the Temecula area to choose from. I would highly recommend adding this location to your stops. The wine is excellent, the patios are well appointed with amazing views, and the service won't be beat. Come in for a glass or a tasting and don't forget to take a bottle home! Cheers!“

Their event coordinator , Ann Manning , is fabulous and she truly has gone above and beyond. I have spoken to Marcus, Rachel and Shawn, who have just been so nice. I highly recommend Maurice Carrie Winery if you are planning an event. My husband and I are so excited for our event.“

Chapin Family Vineyards Wineries • $$

“Had a wonderful time here! Beautiful view on their outdoor patio and love that it had heaters. We had Karen and she was so sweet and helpful for trying different wines that would enhance our tasting. This was the more expensive tasting we went to during our time in Temecula, at $28 per person. Didn't have any food, although you could purchase some from their fridge - wasn't homemade or anything. Such a beautiful and relaxing time! Will be going back when we visit again!“

Lorenzi Estate Vineyards & Winery Wineries • $$$
36095 Monte De Oro Rd, Temecula

“Very exclusive, moderately priced wines that are almost all blended with certain thematic approach to wine made from four to seven different varieties of grapes that are boldly represented by the unique names attached to these interesting wines. I enjoyed the intimate setting of the beautiful vineyard and attentive service. The wine we tried were definitely delicious and different. The prices ranged from $75 - $190 per bottle. I liked Adam and Eve but several others liked NAPA Cabernet Sauvignon with $190 tag on it. I'm sure they were persuaded by the artificially inflated price tag!“

“Very nice winery in temecula. Good food and for this area decent wines. I am not a big Temecula wine area fan. More of a Pinot Noir person and Temecula is not the area where Pinots grow well. For an afternoon lunch in this area I would say Leoness is one of the best choices.“

Callaway Vineyard & Winery Wineries • $$
32720 Rancho California Rd, Temecula

“We visited Callaway for Thursday night Boots after Dark. They had a couple of wines and other drinks to choose from, which was fine. The live music was very good, and the line dance lessons were fun. Deducting one star because the company doing the BBQ was terrible. Only food choices were fries, chicken on a stick. I threw my chicken away because much of it was undercooked. So I recommend the event, just eat before you go.“

Palumbo Family Vineyard Winery •

“Last weekend I had the pleasure to enjoy a wine and food pairing dinner at the Bluewater Grill. I can't stop thinking about one of the pairings and that was the Tuscan Sea Bass paired with Palumbo Family Vineyard's Tre Fratelli. Palumbo's Tre Fratelli was a perfect match for the dish. We also tasted Palumbo's Estate Viognier, Estate Due Rosie, and Estate Sangiovese. All were perfectly paired with each dish. Palumbo is one of my favorite Wineries in the Temecula Valley, so I was a happy man!“
