“We were looking for a Mexican place and stopped at La Bamba. This is our first time at this location. The decor is interesting. Looks like a south of the border place, every t.v. was tuned to a different station and mostly Spanish. My husband ordered some k ind of pork dish, sorry I can't remember but it was so tender and delicious. I ordered the spicy shrimp camarones ala diabla and got 14 tasty shrimp, rice, great sauce and salad. The food was great, the service was efficient and good. WE WILL BE BACK“

My usual spot was closed and I literally called 6 other places on the 1st of Jan and they were all closed as well. Arcense was the only one open ... Pupusas were actually really good. Not too thick or greasy. Well, the chicharron and cheese was but that's to be expected. The beans with cheese were a FAVE! Folks were really really surprised by how good the yucca and pork was, so that was a hit too. Maybe they got a new cook or new management, who knows, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was.“

They are fairly large and would recommend perhaps 2 per person at most. Now if you’re extra hungry, try the plátanos with beans and “crema”. They were delicious. The young woman who took my order over the phone was super friendly. My to go had napkins, silverware, and everything was packed neatly. I’d definitely recommend you try the food.“

“What a delicious spot. The restaurant appeared clean with a few tables for sit down. I ordered pupusas de chicharrón and queso. I loved the texture of the crunchy pupusa from being slightly fried. It was a nice and light, delicate crunch. The cheese and chicharrón filling was flavorful. Putting tomato salsa and curtido on top was great too. I love picked cabbage curtido!! Also got 2 chicken tamales. These are made with slices of potato, two different chile peppers and chicken. They were melty tender (not spicy!) I had their fried plantain, beans and sour cream. The fried bananas were perfectly soft and sweet! Oh, I loved them! To drink, I ordered their home made horchata. That was really impressive. I think they toasted some kind of nut, maybe almonds and blended that together with the rice. It was very tasty, and not too sweet! Very nicely balanced flavors and seasoning. All that food and my drink cost me $27. I honestly thought that was a GREAT price. This is a lovely place! Be sure to stop by. The husband and wife are the business owners and were very nice :)“

“I found a diamond in this beautiful family own restaurant. This is a Salvadoran and Mexican style restaurant. First, we ordered the Molcajete completo Cielo Mar y Tierra. Desayuno - and pupusas de Arroz. The restaurant is nice and clean and the food is so delicious. We also got carne guisada. And more pupusas de arroz ( instead of corn we choose rice).By the way, our Server Gladis was super nice friendly and professional. “This a great place for pupusas.I had both a loroco and a revuelta pupusa. The loroco was very cheesy and had a very nice light veggie taste from the blossoms. The revuelta was full of flavor and not overly salty.The cortiodo had a nice bite to it and a pleasant balance between the herbs and vinegar.I also had a tamale de elote, it tasted very fresh. It came with crema and beans, and was a nice finish to my lunch.I think they make their own tamarindo Agua fresca - it had a nice tartness without being overly sweet.“

“This is a super popular hole in the wall in South LA. It's cash only and parking is a little tricky but you will find street parking if you look for it. Be sure to know your order before going in as the staff is usually super busy taking orders. The Pupusas took a bit of time but it was worth it because they were so fresh. “One of the best local pupusa places in Lynwood/South Gate area. Their pupusas are huge and full of cheese that pulls out when you break the pupusas. Their curtido is very flavorful. They also serve a delicious Carne Guizada with rice, beans, salad, and had made delicious fat tortillas.
