“I was going to The Red Lobster and decided to check the Chinese Restaurant across the parking lot instead. I was greeted by the server, I was given a hot tea and the menu to start, I decided to go for a half Pecking Duck and an order of steamed rice. The Duck was cut up into several pieces along tiny guao bao (boiled water pancakes), thinly sliced scallions and a sweet hoisin sauce, the skin was crispy and you can taste the mild five spice, I don’t know why I ordered steamed rice; there was no need for it. The store has a side door that serves to go orders and stays busy all day. Great place if you are craving home made dumplings.Parking: Big area with free parking“
“The food was so fresh, well cooked & deliciously flavored. I grew up here and have tried many Chinese & dim sum restaurants, but this one truly impressed me. The restaurant is tucked away and easy to miss, but you don’t want to. It’s excellent. What we ordered:—Stir fried green beans—Shrimp pork and chives potstickers—Vegetable chow mein—Har gow (shrimp dumplings)My 5 year old loved the shrimp dumplings so much she made us order a second serving and said, “these are the BEST I’ve ever had!”“
“This place offers a wide variety of dumplings, including rarer finds like fantuan, and other hot dishes at affordable prices in a conveniently located area of Sunset. The interior is small with only a few tables, but it's a cozy spot to enjoy a meal or pop in for takeout. They accept credit card but charge a 4% fee for dine-in, which is understandable. I'm really happy I found this spot and will probably return often.“
“The space was much larger than I anticipated so plenty of room to spread out. Love the Friday hours where they don't close after lunch so I don't have to hurry to get there. Staff was attentive and super friendly and we really enjoyed the food. If, like us, you just want them to bring the food - order at once and they bring everything when it is ready. Since some of the items come to the table super hot this allows some time to cool down. If you want things more in courses, stagger your order. We enjoyed a Foggy Day IPA, the Xiao Long Bao (probably my fav), Pan-fried Pork Buns (wait, this might be my fav), and Chicken with Shiitake Mushroom Dumpling. So fun to share and can't wait to go back and try more. I would like to know who thought Country and Western was the right choice of tunes to set the stage.“
“This place is open until three o'clock in the morning they always have a wonderful spongy moist cheesecake that are too dyed for the Pho is amazing also the steam dumplings are great. Always friendly great service and clean. You better get you some especially that cheesecake.“
“I had lunch at the Dumpling Kitchen this afternoon. The decoration was unremarkable, but the restaurant was bright and cheerful. Our waitress friendly and always there when we needed her - like when I knocked over two water glasses. My Kung Pao Chicken was really good, if a little hotter than I would have liked. And it was in front of me in about 3 minutes.“
“Ambiance: Ordered the shrimp/pork/beef rice roll (5*), meatloaf and fish clay pot (4*), chicken sticky rice (3.5*), siu mai (3*), and turnip cake (4*). The food won’t blow your mind and isn’t the highest quality, but it’s comforting and tastes home made. I think the rice rolls were superb, but the dim sum dishes are a 3*, 4* depending on your palette. There was one lady serving all tables, who was nice and sweet. The pricing is fair amongst the comps.Would come back again for comfort feeling.“
“The Dumpling House is a great restaurant to eat dumplings. I have visited many times and always love to eat there.Sometimes it gets busy, but the service is usually fast.Personally, I do not like that they do not have printed menus and you can only order on your phone.Highly recommended.“
“Was there while they were hosting a wedding party. Somehow still have very great and attentive service. My GF is vegan, and the staff was helpful in making sure she had some options, ever adjusting the wagyu chowmain dish I ordered so that she could enjoy it (meat on the side).Veggies were amazing. Very different flavors. We had the string beans and the coli flower.Tea was great. The star or the night were their sipping sauces. They say they make them all in house. Cilantro sauce was the best, but they also have coconut + ginger, soy sauce, and of course chili oil.Dim sum was great as well.Ambiance was nice also.Vegetarian options: Lots of veggies clearly labeled vegetarian. I believe most of their vegetarian dishes are actually vegan as well. Great flavor. They also are willing to adjust dishes to fit dietary restrictions.“
“Delicious Taiwanese food! The crab soup dumpling is very fresh and the wrapper is nice and thin. The deep fried chicken was also so good and reminded me of Taiwan. The broccoli was disappointing because it wasn’t what I was expecting though.“
“My mom's favorite Chinese restaurant in the city (at least currently - growing up it used to be Eight Immortals on Taraval - I'm sad it's no longer the same...). Whenever I go home for a visit, there's always ONE night reserved for a family dinner at Riverside. There's only street parking (not a surprise since it's SF), but there's NO issue find a spot and the area is relatively safe. The restaurant is no frills and homey - and you know it's legit and good when the restaurant is full on a random Wednesday night on a quiet neighborhood block. My mom usually orders and the dishes can vary depending on what she feels like, but she ALWAYS orders the giant scallop/clam thing with vermicelli. Very meaty, large portions. Pricey, but good. Definitely solid Chinese food - sometimes they are a bit heavy handed on the seasoning (not super consistent), but overall still good.“
“A gigantic mound of Chinese comfort food for a very good price! The taste is exactly as I remember it from SF Chinatown many many years ago. Also, you can ask for more to be loaded onto the combo plate for extra $$! So I gave a bit of tip too. This location is also convenient and walkable. It is the local joint to go to for some quick, hot, and well-priced Chinese food and dim sum! They even have fully stuffed tofu, chicken dumplings, and veggies!“
“Happy Bakery has many friendly people working there, and the dim sum and Chinese fast food are pretty good. The store has two sections. The section on the left is my favorite dim sum section. They have many different dim sum for the reasonable prices. The Chinese fast food section is more like Panda Express. You can see what you want, and they scoop it into the box. Both sides are quick and yummy!Parking: Metered street parking onlyWheelchair accessibility: The store is wheelchair friendly“
“Just tried Kingdom of Dumpling for the first time and I'm impressed! They have an amazing variety of dumplings--20 different kinds, each with its own unique twist. The flavors are spot on, and they're all perfectly cooked. The vibe is super laid-back, perfect for a casual dinner. Service was pretty quick too, especially since you can order online and pick up. It's a solid four stars from me--definitely coming back for more!“
“Used to come here during it's prime. Unfortunately a lot had changed. It used to be the best dim sum in the Bay Area, but now it's average and the menu has reduced. However, the food is not bad, it's just not the same as before.“
“SO good and so many vegetarian options. We brought 4 kids with and they all found foods they liked (mostly buns and dumplings).Vegetarian options: Tons of vegetarian options, including tofu, meatless beef, meatless chicken and meatless fish.Kid-friendliness: The kids really loved the dim sum.“
“The old cashier by the counter was told an order of "sweet and sour soup" and she repeated it as "sweet and sour pork". Assuming the sweet and sour soup had pork in it, okay, agreed with that order. When the order arrived, it was sweet and sour pork with rice and veggies which is $10, INSTEAD of soup.Asked her to replace it, she said add $2. The old lady behind the counter pulled out VEGETABLE SOUP!!! After that, asked her to give the correct item which is sweet and sour soup she said that's an additional $9. It was her error in taking down the order. She said, give back the prior order which is sweet and sour pork with rice and she'll give the sweet and sour soup. She gave the sweet and sour soup and pocketed the $3 (it's been $2 added for the soup, along with the prior $10 paid for the sweet and sour pork and rice). The sweet and sour pork with rice is $10 which she took back, she took that back.Gave a run around just to order sweet and sour soup, and she pocketed $3. She was given gratuity of $5 before that. She still gave that run around just to pocket an extra $3.“
“Tasty pastry is what I call this small dumpling treasure. Service is quick and efficient. Food is what I come for so ambience is bare but acceptable and clean. I've been a fan since I was young and still love it. I usually frequent their Daly City location but due to renovations it was closed and made the drive down to Irving.“
“I got married here. My third wedding in 2 years. There must be something horrible going on with me that I'm on my third wedding already. Anyway. I had a good time. Shout out to Christy? For her attentiveness to everything we needed. Nice lady. We're from the same village. Good food. Ambiance is 10/10. Fun times.“
“Great place for dim sum! Another MUST-EAT-AT place for tourists and a GO-TO for SF natives. Dining room is typical modern Chinese, but it has a second floor loft that's perfect for weddings, red egg ginger parties, etc. Love their mini-egg tarts! Service is excellent! Their service staff work really hard so please be kind and tip!“
“The restaurant’s ambiance is casual, making it suitable for both family gatherings and solo dining. Plus, they have free parking.Think neon nights, salsa seats, and chefs doing the cha-cha in the open kitchen.Pot Combos (Simmer Huang’s Cuisine): Gather your food-loving friends and indulge in a simmering pot of goodness. Meats, veggies, and spices come together for a flavor fiesta.Utensil for dining is plastic like Togo fork and spoon.“
“The crispy BBQ pork ? with the skin was so good! It was crispy on the outside and tender & juicy on the inside. The whole fried chicken ? was good. Service was fast. A lot of free parking in the lot.Parking: A lot of parking in the free lot, adjacent to the building.“
“Hongry Kong catered for a mid autumn moon festival yesterday and really brought their A-game. Don't let the food truck fool you. They deliver top-notch dim sum (Ha gau, Siu Mai, egg tarts, veggie egg rolls) at a reasonable price , and the General Tso's chicken rice bowl is pretty dang good. Egg tarts run out fast at $2 each. Service is friendly and convenient. There's everything for the whole family. Great drink selection as well. Don't forget to try the HK style milk tea!“
“I love this spot it's my go to whenever I am disappointed by a different dim sum spot that my boyfriend wants to go to I say we should've just gone to chase luck. The ladies at the counter are always quick and nice the food is amazing it doesn't have a million wrappers on it and hasn't been sitting out for days. It's not impossible to find parking in the area most times I've been there. I rarely leave reviews but I love this place so much that any low review on here makes me angry!“
“Wonderful food especially the stir fried beef dishes! The drawback is the service time which takes over 30 mins for our meal to come. Ambiance and atmosphere are noisy and loud like any other dim sum restaurant on a weekday evening. Great food if you wish to wait for over half an hour to be served.Kid-friendliness: Parking is a challenge but if you go early you can find a spot on the streets.“
“Went for lunch on Sunday at 1pm after it was recommended by a friend for having good dimsum. We thought there would be a wait but there were a few open tables so we were seated immediately. The service was attentive and the food came quickly. Go for the food, not the ambiance. The menu isn't as extensive than a dimsum restaurant, but we appreciated the variety. Our favorites: * String beans - crisp and flavorful!* passion fruit aloe green tea - refreshing! * pork belly with charcoal buns - my son who loves Peking duck said that he would rather get these now. Not sure if the charcoal buns are supposed to taste different than normal bao - they tasted the same to us. * braised beef noodle soup with wontons - delicious shrimp wontons and a very beefy broth. * pan fried soup dumplings - tasty filling and lots of soup to slurp up. Next time we would skip: * cucumbers - too vinegary. Seems like they may have accidentally poured too much vinegar in our serving. At least that's my hope. * beef kimcheese rice - more tomatoey than kimchee flavored. * XLB trio - couldn't really tasty the truffle flavor. I wish we could order just the crab ones. The others weren't that amazing.“
“In the mood for something light and not too heavy Dim Sum comes to mind. Ordered Pork Siu Mai, Shrimp Dumplings, Sesame Balls, Fry String Bean w Chicken and of course Thai Tea. Delivery was fast and my items were still warm. All were delicious most definitely my new spot for Dim Sun will order again!“
“Y’all this place surprised me by how tasty it is and how close to my house it is!! Get here early!! The har gow had a deliciously tender and flavorful filling with a SUPER THIN WRAPPER 10/10 the thinly wrapped ones are hard to find and my favorite. I also tried some meat dumplings with a little bit of corn wrapped in wonton skin, very flavorful and juicy as well. Sesame balls were very crisp on the outside and moist and chewy on the inside, very tasty as well. It’s easier to order here if you know mandarin or Cantonese, but the folks here know enough English that it’s ok if you don’t.“
“The food and service here were INCREDIBLE! This modern Chinese themed restaurant combines fresh, tasty food with high-class service. I highly recommend the pork soup dumplings and the Dan Dan noodles. The wait for a group of 4 is about 20 minutes but is definitely worth it. If you're looking for a place to grab some delicious Chinese food at a reasonable price, this is definitely the spot.“
“It's a warm little restaurant with delicious chowmein noodle and delicious spicy eggplant. What's more, their service attitude is really good. They also have delicious Chili sauce. To my surprise, their Chili sauce is for sale. I decisively bought a bucket that was really delicious. It was really a good physical examination, very good service attitude and delicious food. I will definitely come again next time.“
“The siu mais here are big. There's a mong kok dim sum in Chinatown and I wonder if this is the same owner as the Chinatown once since they both sell big juicy siu mais. I always get at least 3 orders of siu mais when I'm here. My friend got the BBQ pork bun and her 1 year old daughter loved it. She couldn't finish her lunch at home, but she was able to finish a BBQ pork bun all by herself.“
“Really authentic dim sum spot.Has dine in but can be to go as well. They speak some English and Cantonese. Maybe mandarin too. Prices are pretty cheap but can get high if you order a lot. The wait was not bad at all since I had a pretty big order. They didn’t have centruy egg congee and the other one wasn’t as good but all the other food was pretty decent. If you haven’t tried, I recommend.“
“For a mall food court type of restaurant, it's definitely not bad at all. Came here a few times and food are all great. Crispy shrimp dumplings are the way to go. Prices not bad either, customer service is also great. I grew up near the mall and the previous business before this place opened up closed down pretty quick. Hope this one stays around for a long time“
