“I was drawn there because of the 5☆ reviews and who dosen't like a good barbecue, but the food was mediocre. The sauce was average, coleslaw meh, and the beans not bad. Now the onion rings is why I went, but I was disappointed to much batter not crispy like a good onion ring should be. The fries, oh yeah. The service was amazing and the price for portion was ok, still a bit pricey.Beware the birthday song“

I ordered the Loaded baked potato burger...BOOOOMB!!! Sooo delicious I wanna go back for more. Anyway, my son was asleep when we got there and literally when he peaked and woke up. Our waitress Jacqueline paid attention and got him a little brownie to sing to him....he was soooo happy. Jacqueline really made our night with great food suggestions and attentive to with my family. “I just finished an order of ham. Outstanding flavor and texture. I bought it from the "by the pound" menu. It was sliced and covered in sauce and cooked to perfection. I also bought a pound of turkey. The meat here is served as an individual serving, a family meal, or enough to serve a large party. If friends drop by in large number, you can count on having enough to serve within a half hour including the drive. The price for two pounds of ham and one pound of turkey was about $58. That would not go far at a place like Kentucky fried chicken. And you won't be forced to eat legs and thighs. The value is of high standard and wasn't effected to badly by Joe's inflation. This is good American cuisine that will satisfy people of all nationalities. The staff is very friendly and a real pleasure to interact with. And here is something you don't run into much anymore, they speak English, and they accept cash. This place is crowded during lunch hour with construction workers and personnel from Miramar marine base across the street. Parking is hard to come by, and I've had to go elsewhere on more than one occasion. But in a review of just the quality of food and service, this is an excellent place to eat. And an above average place to take lunch or dinner. And a place that will provide an unsurpassed meal for a playoff party.Parking: Lots of stores and few spots.“

“4.5 out of 5I really wanted to give this place a full 5 stars. I'll start with why I couldn't and end with why you should come here anyway.Cons:I ordered from here twice, and both times I got the pesto chicken sandwich (YUM) with different sides. The first time I ordered the garlic Parmesan fries and I got so many! I was very happy with the portion. The second time I got grilled veggies for an extra $3 and while they were delicious, I got three cauliflower heads and four large slices of squash. After seeing the fries portion AND paying an extra $3 for grilled veggies, I was disappointed in the portion size. See photos. Also, I'm a ranch girl, and their homemade ranch is dying for more herbs.Pros:The food was great (except the ranch). I tried the brussel sprouts, chicken sandwich, Mac salad, Verde Cesar side salad, PB&J cheesecake, and the garlic Parmesan fries. I was very happy with the taste of all of the things I got!The service was great. They were fairly busy but both times I was there the food came out quickly and the people behind the counter were patient, friendly and helpful. During the dinner rush the server knew many people's names and showed they had a lot of regulars.Inside it's cozy and hard to feel out of place, even for someone like me just passing through. It's small inside but they have an outdoor seating area with pretty lights at night. I very much recommend this restaurant and am happy to give them my money!“

“Do you like to eat intestines? This is the go to place for some of the best mouthwatering tasty intestines you will ever find! They specialize in intestines and offer 4 different types: small, large, abomasum and tripe. They do have other cuts of meats as well and they are all very tasteful. But if you love intestines this is the usual go to. Besides bbq they do offer other selection of food: tofu soups, rice dishes, jjajjamyun, and appetizersThey are not AYCE. They have different order option and the quality and quantity is very great so!Plz do keep in mind the meat quality is that greater than any AYCE which is why price is a little on the higher end but very well worth it.Every bbq order comes with corn cheese, kimchi stew, side dishes and salad. They do offer a great selection of dipping sauces for your meat don't be afraid to ask. I recommend vinegar on the side for your intestines.Service is always great and fast. The tartare was fantastic, but the bone marrow portion left us wanting more. For the main course, we got the perfectly grilled ribeye with organic veggies and chimichurri. The bison burger, while good, could benefit from a more pronounced pistachio pesto flavor.Despite our fill bellies, Angela surprised us with a slice of limoncello cake. It was a burst of freshness, perfectly balancing sweetness. A delightful end to an exceptional dining experience!“

“"Holy cow, y'all! We walked into this place thinking we'd stick out like a redneck at a wine tasting, but boy were we wrong! The food was so good, I'll be serving up a plate of humble pie on my pride platter! That half salad? Gigantic! Like, 'how many heads of lettuce did they sacrifice for this?' gigantic. And the chef? A real sweetheart! I asked for some tweaks and they were like, 'Girl, I gotchu!' Like, they actually got me.My waitress, Alexandria B, was the real MVP! She hooked me up with the extra goodies I needed and gave me the biggest smile. Don't tell my hubby, but she made me feel like we were on our first date again... minus the awkward small talk and overwhelming fear of rejection ?. The kiddos devoured the onion rings and fries like they were fresh out of my own kitchen (wink). If the owners see this, give Alexandria a raise... and a trophy... and a parade in her honor! She's the real deal! Ask for her by name and get ready for a culinary dream come true... or at least a good laugh and a full belly ?."Vegetarian options: A few options are absolutely for vegetarian.Dietary restrictions: They will try to work around any type of dietary issues. Let them know ahead .Kid-friendliness: This is a bbq restaurant but also a bar. So be rewarded that your children will be around drinking.Wheelchair accessibility: "I just want to rave about this restaurant ! They have a sign saying they'll help handicapped individuals, and boy do they deliver! I suggest to call ahead and to let them know about your needs and the staff will help. They will go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. I can't recommend them enough!"“

“I’ve been to Shabumi two times now, once to try the KBBQ option and the other time to try the hotpot option. Both times I went during lunch time so there wasn’t a wait, though it might be a different story if I went during the busy dinner hours. Because it was lunch time, the price was pretty reasonable, not sure how I’d feel paying for the dinner prices though.I really like that each person can choose between one or the other, that the table doesn’t have to choose just one. I also really liked that it’s individual grill/pot so you can individually choose ingredients/spice level. For KBBQ, I ordered the chuck eye steak, beef belly, beef bulgogi, and galbi. My favorite from these are the belly and bulgogi. You can order three meats at a time and they’re pretty quick with bringing out orders. For hot pot, I ordered black Angus chuck tender, prime chuck eye, beefy belly, and brisket point. The meat was pretty good quality and looked/tasted fresh. My friends and I chose the chicken soup base since it was the recommended one with the most flavor. I wish they offered a spicy soup base, but you’re able to make your own sauce at the bar.The salad bar was packed with lots of choices for noodles, seafood, vegetables, and other sides to add to your pot. I really liked the Japchae for their side dish too.Service was quick and the servers were attentive both times.Overall, I’d come back here again for lunch time.Parking: The restaurant shares a parking lot with Target and other restaurants. “Our bartender really wanted to find drinks we would enjoy. She made me a wonderful drink called the white girl which I am and it was delicious. This is the oldest bar in san diego. Check it out beautiful bar back and lots of memorabilia. Walk onto history and just soak up all those who came before you.“

“Nice lamb mixiote and lamb barbacoa served here by the kilo, or in tacos. I am partial to the mixiote, but would recommend the "Taco Suave de Barbacoa" if you wanted a bite-size sampler of what this humble but high-quality operation is capable of. Omar S.'s review has all the in-depth detail you need, and you should read it.“

“Long wait, but open until midnight so it all worked out. Cute little two seater tables. Meat came out sooo quick once ordered. Not sure if this was on purpose or not, but meat portions seemed to be smaller for just us two. Which was nice because we were able to try a variety instead of being hindered with a few huge amounts of the same meat. Highly recommend the bulgogi.Service was great, dishes got cleared quickly to make space, wait staff was attentive and friendly. Seems to attract a younger crowd. (Parking was awful, but did eventually find street parking)“

“2/25/2024Hong Kong BBQ Kitchen has authentic Cantonese food. Big portions with good price.Friendly and fast services. The ladies always have a smile on their faces.Delicious food:salt and pepper chicken wings - loved it! Crispy outside, juicy and tender inside, not dried.Orange peeled chicken: not over fried like many restaurants. It has hinted taste of orange.Spring rolls as appetizer: has 8 pieces in an order. Crispy and the temperature is just right when brought out! Tasty.Salted fish and chicken fried rice: an authentic Cantonese fried rice dish. Good portion of salted fish in the fried rice. It satisfied wify's craving. Will definitely return for more.=================4 years ago:Came here to buy some roasted pork for the Lunar NewYear. We ended upp with 2+ pounds of roast pork, 1/2 of a chicken, and 2 orders of fa gao (a light sponge cake).Service: good. Server was nice to tell me about the choicess of chicken. Knowing that I was buying food to celebrate the lunar new year, she told me about a celebration in the nearby public library. Was smiling all the time when we carried a conversation.Food: surprisingly good quality!!! The skin of the roasted pork was crispy. The meat was seasoned with the right amount of salt and spices. Each piece was cut perfectly and assembled nicely in the box, see picture. I sometimes get my roasted pork from a store in Clairemont Mesa. This place has better service and quality! The sponge cake has good texture and not so sweet.Like this place and will visit again for bbq takeouts.“
