“This is my second time coming in with my family. Again, we loved how clean and spaced out the place was. The food was delicious as last time! This time the crab fried rice was not so salty. I appreciate how there is actual crab in the food and makes the flavors more vibrant. We ordered drunken noodles, chicken pad Thai, crab wonton, yellow curry. I tried some new things such as the crab wonton and it's about 5 pieces. In terms of service, I noticed that our server did so much for the restaurant. She took phone call orders, managed take out service, and served tables all at the same time. She mentioned that her restaurant is still new but she did so well multitasking. She was very humble. She did her best to take care of us and was so sweet about not wanting to accept my tip even though she basically managed the place entirely. She mentioned how her staff deserved all the money and I was insistent that she take it too! She may not have been able to take care of us the whole time, but she was always generous about giving us utensils and even listened and conversed with us when she had a million things to do. I hope this business stays for a long time (forever hopefully) knowing that there are good people like her managing this place. Just a suggestion to Palm Thai Cafe: maybe have utensils and napkins out so customers can grab as much as they need! Might help take a load off your busy plate. Thanks again! See you all soon.“
“Featured in the Michelin Guide for the past 3 years, we couldn’t not try Sovereign. On our first day we walked to the East Village in San Diego where Sovereign is located to check it out. I’m glad we did as it tuned out to be in a not very nice area in San Diego. Armed with this knowledge when visited we did so by Uber. When we arrived and we were sat in a booth, which I always like.We ordered….Thai cracking sticks.Northern Thai Spicy Sausage. I know the clue is in the name but these were extremely spicy. They had run out of the Golden Crispy Pork Belly so we had Hat Yai Fried Chicken with Tomato Chili Jam.It had the most amazing crispy skin like Peking duck but even better. The chicken was so tender. We also had Dry Turmeric Curry, which had a deliciously mild spice on the minced meat. All in all we enjoyed the food here, particularly the mains which were fantastic.“
“Went here for Galentines, and the food was amazing. There was no wait, and our server was super nice. A bit short staffed, but he made sure everyone was talen care of! The place is super cute and small! The food was delicious. Loved the Tom Yum wings and Basil Beef.“
“The tuna flower cups were the most insane thing I’ve eaten in a long time. I haven’t had fish in over a decade and so I can’t be trusted really when I say “wow that tastes just like fish!” But my fish eating partner had the same reaction as well. Do not miss that dish! The chicken satay appetizer was also amazing, haven’t had something like that before. Also got the spring rolls and the tangerine chicken dish. The waiter was attentive and really nice, helped us out with our different allergies and restrictions.“
“Great service, not the best looking location, but some pretty darn good food! I’m petty picky about my pad Thai and they made it just right. Location isn’t the best looking but that’s not what we fatties are here for right!!!? Highly recommend :)“
“On food alone I would give 5 stars. Our first visit we were greeted with very rude front counter. Really started our dining experience on a sour note. However, we decided to assume that the server was just having a bad day. Glad we did, the food was delicious. We came back the next day for more.“
“Absolutely tasty food! This just went to my topmost Thai restaurant. Had a try of the Mango, Red and Green curries and loved them all but my best was the green curry. It was delightfully flavorsome and delicious. Generous portions and guilt-free!Great for our kids too so a big plus!“
“Vegetariana Review:We've visited Kiin well in the doble digits. My wife and I have been to a variety of Thai restaurants in San Diego yet everytime we go back to Kiin we truly wonder why we even try any other place.I usually test a place by the quality of the fried rice. Many places have an excuse or fried rice. Very few specialize in it, so it's a great dish to test the overall quality of a place. Theirs is second to none I've had in San Diego so far.It is a very good place to go with mixed diets (vegan, omnivore, vegetarian). The menu isn't a huge selection, but at the same time I've never had a bad fish in this place. The portions are of good size, service has always been good, decorations are great. This however isn't a quiet place (specially at night) as there are several other dinners up there and there is music playing for all. This doesn't mean you can't have a conversation here, but keep in mind if you're looking for a more romantic place.“
“What a charming spot! Visited on a leisurely Saturday afternoon and were seated right away. Ordering at the counter was a breeze, and then we chose our own cozy spot. The selection of kombucha on tap caught my eye, though they also offer beer and wine.We indulged in the Tokyo fries, bahn mi, and tom kah soup. Each dish arrived at the perfect temperature and bursting with flavor. The friendly service added to the delightful experience. I'd definitely come back for more!“
“Great spot! I pulled into the parking lot to go to the taco shop next door, but when I saw this place, I recognized the name from Uber Eats. I moved into the neighborhood recently, so I'm still learning about my new local options. I ordered a curry dish, yellow, with brown rice and mock duck as the protein. It was great! I ordered to go but hung out while I waited. I caught the end of the Michigan University championship game. I noticed the place was clean, had a nice vibe, and the seating was comfortable. It might be a place where I would watch another game. Most people don't think of watching sports at a Thai restaurant. I'm anxious to try some of the other dishes. What I ordered was flavorsome, tender, and packaged well. I will return“
“I got their Tofu Pad See Ew and it was extremely flavorful. Their mild spice level added some great flavor without being too spicy.I like how this location has outdoor seating and can accommodate a larger group (10 people), compared to their original location. The staff made our meals in a relatively quick time period but still maintained it's great quality.“
“This was my first experience having Thai food, and I was not disappointed. I was greeted at entry and seated immediately. The staff was kind and friendly, and happy to answer any questions. The food was amazing and I will be back for more. They offer vegetarian, vegan, and healthy options; everything is served in large portions and at affordable prices.“
“This place has the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had. It was so good that the first time we had it we went back the next day. Their service is amazing too. We chatted with who we assume is the owner a bit and he was super cool and friendly. Highly recommend.“
“For December nights in balboa this year we tried the bbq pork and the spicy pad kaprao burgers and they were super tasty! I'd never had a burger with the buns switched out for rice. Though I loved the flavors, serving size, and spiciness it was a bit too much rice and the whole thing was pretty sticky. The cooks and people in the booth were super cool and friendly, letting us take pics of them while they made the patties and eggs. We also got the Thai iced tea with boba and again, though it was good, it was a little too sweet and the boba was really gummy. I'm sure their actual location will have better quality and freshness than just a pop up in the park.“
“This place was SO amazing! Every dish was so thoughtfully crafted and creatively presented (all paired with a beautiful edible flower) The portions were perfect, prices were very fair, the ambiance of the restaurant reflected the taste of love within the food. Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: Mango curryPapaya SaladGuava SaladGreen SaladVeggie EggrollsAnd more!“
“Nice local spot for University Heights. Food is good and the atmosphere is serene.Kid-friendliness: Not the best for small kids. It will disrupt a small dining and intimate sitting atmosphere. Plz don't bring the loud toddlers... thanks. ?Wheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“Walked in on a Saturday day and got the last available table right away. Our server was excellent! Served us right away and the food came out SO QUICKLY.No exaggeration, this was the best Thai food we’ve ever had (and my wife and I spent months in Thailand last year). It tastes fresh and the flavours are amazing. I strongly recommend! We split this amount between 4 of us, but I suggest more food and variety. We saved our appetite for desert elsewhere after dinner, but sort of regret not trying more things.“
“My wife and I were in town for a conference, it was a little further from our hotel, but it got decent reviews so we thought we would try it. Man did it not disappoint! Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had, and the service was amazing! The food was much more affordable than it has right to be. I will be going back the next time I’m in town!“
“Wow, a restaurant that can make a take out order look delicious and appealing is worth the rating! Our food was on time, prepared with thoughtfulness and delicious! No complaints at all! I look forward to sitting down and having a meal at such a great place ?“
“We had a great experience visiting sunset cliff with this amazing delicious Thai food. We ordered yellow curry, tomyun soup, orange chicken, chicken wings etc. everything is good. And very nice servers.Parking: There’s a free parking in front of it“
“Wow! Don't hesitate- Best Thai food ever. I ordered tickets go and the customer service was so sweet and nice eventhough it was a busy Friday night. Pesca vegan diner - I ordered with a plan for the leftovers. Vegan pineapple rice, salad with peanutdressing, green curry with shrimp added and panamg curry. This is the most savory food I think I've had, ever. Thank you!!“
“Always love it there. Just went there last night and I was so frazzled from a bad day and both the man who worked there and the woman at the register were so nice to me. I was being that annoying customer not able to decide on the menu. I was between curry and pad Thai and she gave me such a great recommendation to get the khao soi which is egg noodle with curry base so I kinda get both. I never had it before and I loved it and will now be part of my usual order when I want Thai.“
“I ordered the red curry and Tom kha soup because it's my favorite when I'm not feeling well. The dishes did not disappoint! They arrived fast and the price was tasty, too. Spicy level 1 is all you need, unless you are part dragon.“
“Honestly, I was a bit surprised by this place, considering its touristy location!I did stop by here, around 2pm, so it wasn't crowded. It's such a cute gem. The faux chinese lantern lighting is absolutely adorable. Love the wide booth seating that draws your eyes to the built-in bookshelves in the back of the room, making this place look so chic and cozy at the same time. The music here gives me a chill lounge vibe: acoustic versions of famous songs without lyrics.Prices are a bit higher, but I think the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere is worth it!I had the Choo chee duck and it was delicious. I had my curry on the side, so the duck was on the dry side (crispy skin!), but it was great with the sauce, and you can be sure their rice was the right consistency :) The Thai tea was as expected! The amount of food for me was a lot!Enjoy!“
“Excellent place to have a nice vegan meal. The service is exceptional and the atmosphere is friendly.Vegetarian options: The menu is all plant-based.Dietary restrictions: This place is vegan or plant-based, there are no animal products in any of the dishes.“
“We were recommended this restaurant from some friends while traveling, thankfully we were warned about the spice level so we could order accordingly. The Pad Thai and Thai Basil with chicken were both awesome! Wish we lived closer, this would easily be a new regular spot for us! Absolutely loved “
“Although I'm not a huge fan of Thai food, I must admit that this place is really good. I haven't been to Thailand, so I can't vouch for its authenticity, but the curries are a fantastic choice. Their Tom Kha soup stands out with a unique taste not found in other versions from different restaurants. It's definitely a great spot for takeout, considering the relatively small dining room.“
“1.Sampler platter *10/102.drunken noodles *98/1003.tom kha soup *8/104. Pad see iew *7/10Me: To begin with I want to say that the food here is phenomenal! All the dishes we had for our lunch were filled with so much flavor and the service provided was very family friendly! As a lover of all foods I want to recommend this place to any tourist that is looking to try some authentic Thai dishes that will wow them!?? TWO THUMBS UP!!!“
“Best Thai food ever. I have a theory that most Thai places either have really good noodles and just okay curries or great curry and not-so-great noodles, but this place has BOTH great curries AND great noodles. We’re vegetarian so we always get pad see ew with mock duck and we’ve served this to meat-loving friends who has given it a stamp of approval. The staff is the friendliest and always quick and helpful. The ambiance is just okay, kind of a hole in the wall sort of place. We always get take-out, but if you’re going to eat there go in the summertime and sit outside.“
“My family and I have been coming to this wonderful restaurant for well over a decade now, and every time we come the food is just as delicious as ever. Everything we have tried on the menu has been great, and this has been our go-to for Thai food since we first ate here years ago. The owner and staff are so incredibly kind and friendly, and we are forever patrons of this lovely restaurant. :)“
“I went with a friend for an early lunch (11:30A) and we decided to try La Moon Thai Eatery and I'm glad we did! It's a small, quiet restaurant and at the time we were the only people besides a family that came and ordered after we did and later a takeout order. The staff (1 woman) was very pleasant and cheerful. Not sure if she also was preparing the food or just serving but she was efficient. They have a few gluten free options which for me is essential!Their online menu lists ingredients and which items are gluten free *restaurant menu does not unfortunately, so I'd check the online menu first as the staff wasn't completely sure yet did double check and confirm before putting order in to kitchen.I'd wanted to try their Drunken Noodles but was informed that it wasn't gluten free.I went with my second choice and had the (mild) Green Curry with chicken and was instantly impressed with the flavors, just the right amount of spicy and portion (enough for a modest lunch and dinner)My friend also enjoyed her meal of (mild) Green Curry w TofuThe only other downside to experience is they don't take cash, it is card only no cash?? (small sign posted on the register) so I was glad my friend had her card as I only had cash.Dietary restrictions: They have a few gluten free options which for me is essential!Their online menu lists ingredients and which items are gluten free *restaurant menu does not unfortunately, so I'd check the online menu first as the staff wasn't completely sure yet did double check and confirm before putting order in to kitchen.I recommend the Green Curry ?“
“We came here for Easter and the food was delicious. They go above and beyond. Atmosphere is warm and spacious, service extremely friendly.Vegetarian options: I’ve been vegetarian over a decade and nearly everything can be customized to be vegetarian with tofu or vegetables. Several vegetarian appetizers.“
“Food is outstanding. Service is attentive. Desserts are wonderful. Atmospjere is basic with clean RR.Vegetarian options: Desserts!Dietary restrictions: Thai are BuddistsParking: 50+ spots in a strip mallKid-friendliness: Clean High chairsWheelchair accessibility: Strip mall“
“We LOVE Pad Thai Stand!! Ever since I moved to San Diego I have been getting Pad Thai Stand when I need comfort food, want take out or just feel like great Pad Thai. This is the best Pad Thai in San Diego. We get northern and southern and then have half of each for different flavors. Love the creativity in the different flavors of each item. People and staff and always so friendly and it is appreciated. Casual and minimal seating so better for a quick bite or take out.“
“I got the orange chicken with chow mein & the shrimp and pork steamed wontons & every single item was a 10/10! The chow mein is the best, most flavorful chow mein I have ever had, the orange chicken is crispy & sweet, & the wontons were tender & very flavorful. Portions are worth the price. Highly recommend!“
“Tried this new little cozy place in my neighborhood that just opened, and it did not dissapoint. Food was amazing all freshly cooked. I ordered to go and my family loved it. The Drunken noodles with beef and shrimp was my favorite dish. The yellow curry was very tasty. Thai fried rice was on point and the crispy veggie eggrolls were good. Last but not least ..The mango sticky rice was excellent. Definetely will be coming back soon to try the Pad Thai noodles and the soups.??this could a new hidden ?. Enjoy!“
“I got the pad thai lunch special - it was a generous portion and they got it out to me so quickly! really good and fresh, it hit the spot, just what I wanted.Parking: When I went there was tons of available spots in the lot behind the restaurant. Maybe 10 open spots.“
“The menu is varied, descriptive and contains photos of the entrees listed. I was very happy with the basil chicken. We also had spicy Thai noodles and another item; all delicious. The service is outstanding.Parking: Parking is located directly behind the restaurant, off a narrow side street. It is easy to miss if you are not looking for it.Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible from the parking lot and into the restaurant using the rear entrance.“
“So far everything I've tried has been delicious!! My favorites are the Drunken noodles and the cream cheese wonton. The flavors are perfect. And the wontons are so good Especially the way she rolls them you get the perfect bite of crispy wonton and cream cheese mix inside with every bite *Chefs kiss* wishing them the best of luck!!“
“This place was spectacular. Best Thai I have had in SD and you wouldn’t think from its location in PB but elegant at the same time as chilled and relaxed. Always a lot of people there enjoying their meal along with a lot of folks waiting for pickup. They are super quick making the food and always hand it to you with a “
“The fried rice and cashew chicken were amazing. This will be my go to for fried rice in the area. However, the mango chicken was terrible. Both of us thought it tasted almost exactly like honey mustard and made me sick to my stomach with the syrup/mayo taste. I like sweet but this was unreal.I'm not sure if they changed the recipe because it looked lighter in color than pictures others posted or maybe messed up the ratio that day.“
“A hidden Thai place that hits the right spots for a delicious lunch and dinner venue. We had heard some great things about this local Thai restaurant and decided to give it a shot and it more than lived up to the hype! The ambiance is simple and decorative and sets the tone.We ordered off the lunch deal portion of the menu, but the rest of the menu covers everything you could want from a Thai place. The prices are very reasonable too!We ordered the pad Thai and another noodle dish, and a couple of Thai teas with boba as well. The lunch specials are great as you get soup with it, salad, dumplings, egg roll and a smaller dish sized main. Completely worth and will fill you up! Plus the food was delicious! The service was sharp and attentive, always keeping and eye on us!Check this place out before it gets too busy!“
“So delicious! The soup that comes with the lunch special knocked my socks off. The prices are great. Outstanding noodles. Friendly, efficient service. Feels like eating at a little hole in the wall on a Thai island, except with real chairs (iykyk). I'll be back.“
“We ordered a quick lunch to-go of Papaya salad (be careful on the spice level you choose, they use real Thai chilis and very authentic spice level) and fresh spring rolls. This place is AMAZING! Not only did they cling wrap our order so the liquid doesn’t spill in our bag which was a great touch - the portions are ACTUALLY worth the price!!! Amazingly fresh and definitely will drive from Mission Valley again!!“
“Delicious fresh and healthy. First time trying will definitely go back when in SD. Thank you to the lovely women in the back for preparing this meal. It tastes authentic and home cooked. I got the mixed vegetables with rice (the broth is excellent and had hearty cuts of vegetables) and the drunken noodles, perfect amount of spicy.“
“My favorite thai place prices are incredible food is hot and fast and its a huge place not busy Pad se ew is my go to so damn good i could eat there everyday massaman chicken thigh curry is my favorite curry ever meat is soft, sauce is sweet and thick yellow curry is just ok a bit watery but overall i could definitely live next door!“
“I got the Singapore noodle dish with vegetables and it was so delicious! I got a level 5 spice and it was just the right amount. The portion size was a lot bigger than I had expected so it lasted me a while. I also got the fried tofu as a side and equally as delicious! Would recommend if you ever want to try a new Thai dish or stick to your comfort!“
“Love the homely ambiance inside. Their Pad Thai with shrimp was so flavorful and freshly cooked. Also enjoyed their Yellow Curry which contains more chicken & potatoes than the ones I usually get in LA. The Hawaiian Fried Rice was okay.“
“So good we had to go two Saturdays in a row! Ordered pad Thai, pad see ew, Thai Basil, Panang Curry, & all of it phenomenal. Best Thai flavors we have had I think. We got it to-go and the gentleman kindly brought it over before I was fully out of the car. Everything hot and fresh. Spice level is high so maybe go down a number or two from your usual spice level ?“
“This place is awesome! The whole menu is great! I had the Japanese curry, fried chicken and rice bowl. It was amazing! The kind of food that makes you want to rush home and eat!You can order online before you arrive, or order at the place…if you have any questions about the menu, they willing to explain anything and even make suggestions. If you ever visit the Pacific Beach area, definitely stop here for food!Vegetarian options: My wife is a vegan….and she found a bowl that she absolutely loves!“
