“This place has great Sichuan food! It has so many varieties of food to try and are all very good! We got the chongqing cold noodles that were very flavorful and numby! The favorite was the mapotofu that had very soft silky tofu with minced pork and a sauce you can smother rice with. We also got the local flavor lamb that had tons of veggies along with the soft tender lamb meat. The sweet and sour pork was crispy and delicious and the sliced potatoes with vinegar was very refreshing and had a nice soft crunch to it.

The staff were very nice and attentive and the place is very very popular and busy. The atmosphere is just like any mom n pop Chinese restaurant.

I've been here in the past and have enjoyed other dishes like the twice cooked pork, various dumplings, wonton in chili oil, dan dan noodles, cumin lamb/mutton & sliced beef & ox offal! The portions are always huge and sharable and great value!”

“I enjoy coming here when my partner and I can't agree one something. I wish the seating was more comfortable and the less cramped together but there usually is somewhere to sit. The cleaning staff is always quick to clear tables and manage trash and dishes. Even at its busiest there is usually plenty of parking.”

Parking is super easy since it’s located in a huge plaza.

I got here around 11:00 AM and waited in line for about 20 minutes. The line was mostly filled with older people speaking Cantonese, which told me right away that this place is super authentic!

The Beef Chow Fun is super flavorful and comes in a huge portion.
Their $12.99 breakfast combo is also a great deal with a huge portion—though it's pretty much pure carbs! And the best part is they still let you order it even after the breakfast hours.

You also get free refills on the Hong Kong style milk tea, and you can even take it to go for free. The iced version is the best, especially in the summer!

Unlike a lot of other places where the food is good but the service is terrible, the staff here is incredibly welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend!”

“I googled "best Chinese in LA" and then this popped up as the #1 place. So we drove - and had a very good meal. However, if you expect the classic Chinese dishes, you will be disappointed. This is Shezuan, "a different animal". So no rice, no sweet-and-sour-this-and-that. So be prepared for very spicy Szechuan food. Noodles. No rice. Try the dumplings, they were delicious. We ordered mild (1 out of 5 spice degrees) and we were burning inside (we had two separate orders of dumplings - but spice grade 1. There is no consistency, so be careful). So if spicy is what you are "in" for, you'll love it. The ambiance is sort of authentic ;-) - the sign on how to use the toilet (outside the restaurant in the alley) says more than words. But then, it was $100 all-in for the four of us only. My advice: I could barely understand the service language. Better check the menu before you go. As we were first-timers, I wanted to share three starters and three mains among the four of us and leave it up to the waitress to make us explore - she did not understand. I asked if they served beer. The answer was "noodles or dumplings". :-)”

Very understated, interior is run down, service can be slow when busy because it's family owned, not too many folks working or helping out. But the food is amazing, above par. “Red Chicken Thai is a small corner Thai food spot in San Gabriel Valley. They have a breadth of food and drink items. Its interior was modest with little to no aesthetic decor.

However, the atmosphere was relaxing for customers. Their dining area have 8 tables that can accommodate thirty people. It was my first time visit and I had a default Pad Woon Sen x Iced Lemon tea. Both are good in taste, flavor and portion. Service was spot on as well as the price (affordable). Staff was competent and attentive. Plenty of street and rear parking. Collectively, this is a good Thai spot.

Overall, I had a good experience and enjoyed their food.”

I ordered the strawberry slush but removed the ice cream. It comes with boba and u can choose which one using the substitution. Adding a topping is $0.85 per topping if its boba and more for other toppings. I had mango boba, which is only available on weekends and fridays. The boba is pretty good and freshly made, although the quality can sometimes vary. The mango boba tastes actually like mango and isn't simply just a coloring or very light, unlike some places with flavored boba.
In terms of the drink itself, it is one of the best strawberry slushes I've ever had, with the flavor tasting authentic. Since it's blended, there are some smaller ice bits that aren't fully slush-consistency, but apart from that, I'd definitely recommend this drink for those who like strawberry or fruit.
The one issue I have is that on the kiosk, the prices shown when selecting drinks don't include tax and only show them when u checkout, which can be annoying since many other stores do include tax when showing product prices. Because of that, the drinks can be somewhat pricey compared to other places, but on the plus side, the quality is amazing.”

* So many options to try: I love that most of the stuff come in small individual plates or on skewers. It’s easy to try a little bit of everything without ordering too much or worrying about wasting food.

“This place is now owned by a couple who is very nice and honest to customers. They make great chicken deli takeout and chili pepper and garlic paste which I never tasted or even knew both before!

Bouncy chicken skin and flesh and even savory bones... Chicken savory is given back to chicken to the most by pretty simple ingredients which I only tasted salt...

However the specialty Beef rice noodle didn't meet my suppose I'd like to try braised beef rice noodles and zongzi takeout next time”

My husband and I stopped by for a little date night, and what we witnessed was truly greatness in motion.
They were clearly understaffed — only one person working the front counter and drive-thru at the same time, and one cook in the back preparing orders and stepping in to assist when needed. Despite that, both of them remained calm, professional, and incredibly friendly.
There was no frustration, no attitude — just focus, teamwork, and grace under pressure. You could see how hard they were working, yet they still made us feel welcomed and valued.
They even brought our food to our table, which we didn’t expect at all. That level of service, especially while short-staffed, really stood out to us.
Five stars for professionalism, composure, and dedication. We truly appreciated the experience.”

“Grabbed a quick drink here since it’s been so hot lately! 🥵 The Acai Berry Smoothie was exactly what I needed a refreshing, fruity, and delicious! It’s made with banana, acai, strawberry, and blueberry, so you get a nice mix of creamy and berry flavors without being overly sweet.

I also noticed they have another smoothie with almond butter, which I definitely want to come back and try! They also offer extra immunity boosts that you can add to your drinks and acai bowls, which is a nice option if you want to customize your order.

Honey & Hive is located inside Blossom Market Hall in the SGV, so it’s super convenient with plenty of free parking. The space is very open and bright, and they even have some outdoor seating if you want to enjoy your drink outside.

Went for the hot pot & BBQ buffet combo. You can pick one broth or go with a double/triple split. Lots of options on the buffet line.

A few standouts:
- Argentine red shrimp – plump, firm, with a nice snap
- Frog legs – surprisingly huge
- Oysters – fat and briny
- Grilled eggplant – soft and fully soaked in garlic sauce; every bite was pure flavor
- Grilled shrimp and grilled chicken skin– also really good

The sauce station was clean, and sodas are self-serve. They're open until 1 or 2 AM – perfect for late-night cravings.”

“The broken rice here is certainly good. They have the KING com tam dish for $20.99. It’s a giant plate of broken rice with a variety of meats and some veggies. This is the dish to try when you are here.

Skip the bun bo hue. Unfortunately the noodles were stuck together and the meat was overcooked. I did try the cha gio appetizer $11.99 (egg rolls), and it was really good!

The server mistook me ordering “106” for “number 6”, so when the appetizer came out, I was confused what happened to the noodles. I think there is a major language barrier here because we had to repeat ourselves 2-3 times, like asking for water or a Togo box, etc.

“This place was great! 👍🏼 it’s a family owned shop where a husband and wife run the shop. They were so patient, kind and helpful. They even opened 10 minutes early for us because we didn’t realize they weren’t open yet. They made 3 bobas in under 5 minutes and they were PERFECT. We got Sour Plum (green) Tea, Kumquat (green) Tea, and Taro Ice Slush. Great sweetness, great boba, great tea. The best part was the price! It was so inexpensive especially in comparison to other shops who would literally charge you double the price. Highly recommend.”

“This is a nice casual Hong Kong style dim sum place. They steam the dishes when ordered so they taste good. There are a few tables inside so you can eat inside. I tried the classic dim sum dishes pork Siu mai, shrimp har Kao, and Xiao long Bao. They were quite well made. I also had their pork congee. They were authentic Hong Kong dishes and priced reasonably. Parking is limited on the main parking lot. There are more spaces at the parking lot one level lower entered around the block.”

“Recommended by my partner during our date on a hot day, this boba shop is located in the back of a plaza in SGV, although a moderate size parking lot, it can fill out pretty quickly. The shop is small with no tables, only benches inside & outside, it could get pretty cramped in the shop since it was pretty busy when we arrived.

It's always nice to have a boba shop that has kiosk ordering & ordering via register. They have plentiful of menu options including specialties in oolong teas. Cups are a huge factor for me when reviewing drink shops and Chun Yang Tea is definitely on the higher quality side of cups. They're sturdy, cute design, and no spills.

My partner and I waited about 15 minutes for our drink during peak hours which is pretty quick. Highly recommend to order online ahead of time to skip waiting times.”

“With plenty of bakeries around SGV, I had to try Oh My Pan as I've heard some good qualities about their shop. Parking here is small to moderate as it's shared with other shops. Pretty small lot but there's underground as well, could be a bit compact but street parking is also accessible.

At first glance, this is a pretty sizeable bakery. A decent amount of tables as well since it's a cafe combo. Cakes, bread, drinks are all accessible and the drinks are fairly good for the cheaper price compared to the standard boba shops.

Breads here are restocked fairly often and from the baskets, there's plenty of unique options of breads that aren't seen in other bakeries. One that caught my eye was the boba bread and the matcha swirl bread. Both are fairly delicious but I would say it's a acquired taste. Definitely a try it once type of bread and have a verdict afterwards.

My partner and ordered a couple of the breads to try which include the signature pineapple breads, matcha, sausages, and some sweeter bread as well. All were pretty soft, fresh, and cheaper compared to other bakeries. We also ordered two drinks, the Orchid Milk Tea & the Light Oolong Milk Tea.
Both were pretty refreshing but nothing over the top as it's cheaper than the usual shops.

Overall, a nice spacious bakery/cafe combo that's good for doing some work, a small bite, or drinks for affordable price. They also have cakes so that's definitely an option whenever I have a birthday to consider.”

“Array 36 is a solid choice for high end Chinese food in Los Angeles. While most of the dishes are Shanghainese, there are many good choices from other cuisines, including Peking duck. The ambience is modern, with dark lighting, so definitely not what you typically find in your Chinese restaurant in the US.We like it particularly for hosting guests, Chinese and non-Chinese alike.”

“This is a very small dim sum place, one two table for 4 person, and 2 tables for 2. So maximum only 12 people can dine it. However, the dim sum here is one of the best we have had. Siu mai was rich in flavor and meaty. Stick rice and cheong fun were both top notched. Xiao longbao was juicy too. Due to the small dining area, I imagined it will be difficult at peak hour. Or you just need to take out. But if you do take out, the dim sum may not taste as good. Dilemma. But we were very happy with the food and service.”

“I really enjoyed the BBQ meats at Auntie’s Kitchen in San Gabriel. The BBQ pork, roast pork, and roast duck were all delicious, and each one had its own standout flavor and texture.

The roast pork was especially good—the skin was really crispy and crunchy, while the meat inside stayed juicy and tender. The roast duck was also excellent, with a wonderful aroma and rich, savory flavor. The meat was juicy, tender, and very flavorful.

“This is my first time trying Five Star Seafood Restaurant at the San Gabriel Hilton Hotel. I did not try their dim sum, so this review is for the banquet dinner only. I attended a banquet dinner event last week. The venue was nice, and it was very spacious inside. Most dishes tasted delicious and flavorful, and my favorite dishes were the lobster, steamed fish, abalone, veggies (bok choy), and chicken the most. The portions were a decent size. The service was not bad, but it could be better.”

“Finally tried this place out after driving past it for the nth time. They do $1.50 taco Tuesdays and is parked right next to the Starbucks off Duarte and Rosemead. A bit more difficult to get to if you're coming from east of the intersection due to the median island and no U turn restriction, but damn their food is worth the trouble. Their al pastor is very well seasoned and probably my favorite protein out of all the choices. Tacos come with grilled onions and a piece of potato, with thick cut cucumbers and slices of lime. Nachos are loaded with sauces and burritos are packed with flavors. They have 4 sauces, 2 red and 2 green. The thicker, opague looking ones are the spicier of the 4, while the clearer 2 are the less spicy ones.

Ever since my favorite taco truck at the vons plaza been swarmed with customers for the past couple months on Tuesdays, I've been looking for an alternative. And dare I say it, I think I've found it.”

“Spicy pork neck bone soup 뼈다귀 해장국 (감자탕) was so comforting and filling, came with lot of tender meat that fell right off the bone! The soup was flavorful and spicy but not too heavy, pairing perfectly with the veggies and rice.
The bossam (steamed pork belly) 보쌈 was also so tender and makes for a great sharing dish. The banchan, especially the kimchi, tasted so authentic!
Compared to other places, Moobongri Soondae tasted refreshing, not too heavy on oil or MSG, and nice portions for the price! The service was also great, we will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!”

I ordered through the Hungry Panda app since they had a coupon that made it cheaper or else it would be kind of pricey. I ordered the Cheesy Mango Smoothie with less sweet. They have a small storefront with only two or three tables so it's more of a grab and go boba store.

The drink was ready in around 5 minutes and it was super easy to pick up. I really liked the drink. The blended mango smoothie tasted very fresh and not artificial. And the taste of mango and cheese foam goes so well together. I can see why cheese foam is so popular with fruit smoothies.

My husband and I stopped by for a little date night, and what we witnessed was truly greatness in motion.
They were clearly understaffed — only one person working the front counter and drive-thru at the same time, and one cook in the back preparing orders and stepping in to assist when needed. Despite that, both of them remained calm, professional, and incredibly friendly.
There was no frustration, no attitude — just focus, teamwork, and grace under pressure. You could see how hard they were working, yet they still made us feel welcomed and valued.
They even brought our food to our table, which we didn’t expect at all. That level of service, especially while short-staffed, really stood out to us.
Five stars for professionalism, composure, and dedication. We truly appreciated the experience.”

“This place has great Sichuan food! It has so many varieties of food to try and are all very good! We got the chongqing cold noodles that were very flavorful and numby! The favorite was the mapotofu that had very soft silky tofu with minced pork and a sauce you can smother rice with. We also got the local flavor lamb that had tons of veggies along with the soft tender lamb meat. The sweet and sour pork was crispy and delicious and the sliced potatoes with vinegar was very refreshing and had a nice soft crunch to it.

The staff were very nice and attentive and the place is very very popular and busy. The atmosphere is just like any mom n pop Chinese restaurant.

I've been here in the past and have enjoyed other dishes like the twice cooked pork, various dumplings, wonton in chili oil, dan dan noodles, cumin lamb/mutton & sliced beef & ox offal! The portions are always huge and sharable and great value!”

“My parents brought me to this Sichuan restaurant, so I had a feeling we’d have a good meal here. The three of us ordered the Cold Pot Sea Bass, Black Fish Fillet, Spicy Jelly Salad, and cold jelly salad. The portions were really generous—we actually had quite a bit left to take home. The Cold Pot Sea Bass was our main dish, with big, tender pieces of fish that were packed with flavor. We went with the medium spicy mala option since we enjoy spicy food, and the heat was just right for us—fragrant, spicy, and not too overwhelming.

The Black Fish Fillet was also so good with rice. The sauerkraut and all the ingredients in the broth were flavorful, and even the tofu was something I kept going back for . The Spicy cold Jelly Salad had fragrant chili oil with a light numbing kick, which made it really appetizing. We honestly thought we might not have enough food, but we ended up taking a big portion home. Everything was so good with rice, especially after mixing the fish and sauce with it. If you enjoy spicy food and Sichuan flavors, this is definitely a place to keep on your list.”

The price is unbeatable and my entire meal came out within minutes. The noodles had the perfect amount of bounce esa and chew and the meats were cooked to perfection. The staff was very kind as well. “Came Thursday 9:30 pm, surprised to find the music bumping like a night club! Nice to find Vietnamese food late around here. Decor is fun too. Cool watching the videos of vendor streets in Saigon.

Enjoyed the Bun bo hue, tasty & fresh. I asked to leave out the blood cube. I was very impressed with how nice the young server was, he was very helpful & suggested that if I didn't want the pork hock pig's feet either, they could give the higher up part instead, which was very tasty. I am mostly vegetarian but had to appreciate the generous tender meat that was in this dish. He even heated my soup back up later once it got cold. The passion fruit tea was also tasty. They have lots of other specialties on the menu.

Be warned tho - later at night they play the music pretty loud -- if you're there to party, good -- but just for a dinner it was kind of a lot... When I left my ears were still ringing. I watched my server talk to a customer - both young guys - and they had to bend close to each other to hear, like old people. They should give their servers loop earplugs because they're honestly going to lose their hearing working there! Or lower the music a bit? I liked the food, but think I'll stick to day time visits & keep my hearing! 🧘🏻‍♂️🍜”

I think the location is also good simply because it's near the mission district area. I have met the owners and they are very hard-working people and I really do enjoy talking to you the owner that heads up the Rosemead location who strives to remember your name and always greets people enthusiastically.”

We loved the papaya coconut slushy with jelly and fresh papaya. The Dubai cracking chocolate with the pistachio slush is so fun to crack and a perfect sweet treat. The mango pomelo sago was fruity and creamy and taro mochi milk tea had good tea flavor. The homemade mashed taro and taro balls and popcorn chicken remind of Taiwan. “A new spot in the core of SGV and it's right next to the 99 Ranch Market. Already packed with plenty of other popular tea shops in the same plaza, Guiji Tea takes it to another level. Interior is full of their green/matcha theme. It's very clean and very minimalistic.

A huge plus for having self ordering kiosk machines and a huge space for people to sit down after ordering their drinks. My wife and I visited for one of their promotions for a free sticker set, which included 3 featured drinks BOGO. My personal favorite is the pu-erh milk tea碎銀普洱奶茶. Very refreshing and light. Probably one of the more satisfying drinks to sip on during a hot day. Very much worth it!

Underrated part are their cups. Non spillable, simple design but has 2 variations to differentiate between the same drink. Cute and simple design but unique as well, very easy to hold.

Overall, a great tea shop with friendly and quick staff, definitely coming back more to try their other drinks. I have my eyes on their peach oolong tea and the King's oolong teas.”
