“Update: 2024. Been back since my “ missing avocado toast” incident. Almond butter croissant is excellent and told to WAIT for the toast when paying and receiving my bakery items. They have seating for small parties of 1-4……..The service is friendly but they’re all trying to help each other with larger orders and no one verifying completeness but of course they charged full order with $8 avocado toast missing. And yet, I’ll be back because those damn chocolate almond croissants are ridiculously good.“

“Ooooooooweeeee... man, this place is awesome and delicious. Came here before all the Instagram and TikTok hype so there wasn't too much of a long line, but now the lines are too long!! However, I still recommend. Their chocolate croissants are sooooo good. For those who want savory, I recommend the Pesto? pastry. A little tip for the pastries at CAR, eat it right away. As time passes, the crunchiness of the pastry does decrease.“

“Visited Porto’s Bakery for the first time when in West Covina (reside in Washington). We went on Easter morning expecting it to be super busy. To our luck it was busy, but no line! We got there at 10am and it was raining so we lucked out. They had several staff drying the floor and directing traffic to enserie everyone’s safety avoiding slips. They have an amazing system in place to get customers to the right counter. Everything we tried was fresh and super tasty. We tried the Potato Balls, Cheese Rolls, Refugiado, Chicken Empanada, Torrejas, breakfast croissants, Pork Tamales and a few other pastries along with lattes, guava lemonade & hot chocolate. We went all out! There was not one item that we bought that was bad or that we wouldn’t buy again. I was able to buy several items to bring back home. So we had a wonderful breakfast there and had several pastries and goodies to bring home.“

“I highly recommend Yvonne‘s vegan kitchen. Yvonne has some of the best desserts, breads, and pastries that you can’t find anywhere else. I literally drive from Orange County all the way out to Pasadena because her desserts and bread are so amazing. “This is where my mom would get banh mis for us when I was little and I just recently re-discovered them! The #1 Thit Nguoi or cold cuts is my version of THEE traditional banh mi. There's no where else you need to go. The fresh bread is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. When you order, you can choose from the football shape or the baguette shaped bread. Scratch pate, cold cuts, daikon, carrots, cilantro, and thinly shaved jalapeños. Service is straightforward and fast! Corner store vibes but Vietnamese :) Parking is also plentiful. Ugh my heart is so happy!!“

“This is a small cafe in a medical plaza. There are minimal seating but they do provide some additional seating in front of the pharmacy inside the building! We arrived a little after if opened and there were already many people ahead of us! We tried the chocolate strawberry banana waffle as well as their egg deluxe croissant. They were fairly priced! They were both delicious though I wish I had asked them for a crispier waffle. Their service was just as expected for a small cafe making everything to order. We waited about 10-15 minutes. We would definitely come back to try their bagel deluxe!“

“My go to place for lava cakes. Flaky, flavorful and their egg yolk lava cakes are wonderful! Taro, green tea, any thing you can't go wrong! This place is located in a small plaza but there are plenty of parking. If you visit during office hours and before lunch you'll find street parking in front of the plaza so no issue there. The place is very small inside, not much seats but you can always go to next door cafe or boba place if you want to enjoy both lava cakes and boba teas. The staff members are always smiling and welcoming so that's also a plus!“

“My son loves carrot cake, but he has always hated that many have raisins and pineapple. I live in Long Beach and I couldn’t find a local bakery that would exclude those two for him until I stumbled on The Shredded Carrot on Google. The Yelp reviews were really good and when I called the pleasant attendant said they could definitely exclude raisins and pineapple! I was delighted because I had called many places that said they couldn’t do that for us. I picked up my son’s cake yesterday and I was nervous because we had never had a cake from here. But man! Was it delicious! The Shredded Carrot went above and beyond with their service from my phone call to place the order, to the order promptness and taste! Worth the drive:)“

They only had one line open for ordering which caused a little line. We got the raspberry heart cookie, lemon iced and the heart sprinkle sugar. They were a little undercooked but still tasty. “Bomb cakes. They put fruit on them. Bread is really soft on the cakes. Customer service is good extra nice. If your a sweet tooth and would like to try some small cakes I recommend you trying the chocolate mousse there small but worth it. You won't regret it especially if you have a upcoming babyshower, birthday, a special event you name it. Small place for parking because of other business. You can find parking outside if you find any.“

“Ayo!!!! So been trying to check this place for so long and finally got to try it. I'm a marshmallow fanatic, so this was a dream for me. I ordered the PB&J Which comes with a Cinnamon Graham Cracker that is made in house, Peanut Butter, Berry Compote and Vanilla Marshmallow. I added milk chocolate cause it's not a S'more without Chocolate. So my initial bite, I was in heaven. The graham cracker was so good, it was thin and crispy. The Marshmallow was gooey with that campfire smokey scent. The combo of peanut butter, berry compote and Milk Chocolate was mind blowing. I give this place a 10 outa 10. I will be back! “I came on a Friday 20 minutes before closing. There was no line. They weren't out of anything. They still had products on the shelf. I got their Portuguese tart and their egg tart. I came in because it was on Instagram that there were lines out the door after thru were featured on Netflix. I mean, the egg tarts were good. I was turned off by the dark, burnt crusts. But biting into the tarts, you can't taste it. The egg filling was cooked just right. The flaky layers were very good. Was it the best I've ever had? No. It's comparable to most dim sum places I've been to. So, I happen to driving in the area but would I drive an hour to come here specially for these tarts, no. Service was fine. It wasn't great. The place is very small. You have to grab and go. There's no hanging around here.“

“Check out this adorable Pokémon cake! I have had the pleasure of indulging in Fortune Bakery for many years and it never disappoints. This two tiered creative cake had mango strawberry marble cake with custard for the bottom layer and vanilla with chocolate mouse for the picky kids who don't like fruit in their cake. As you can see it was demolished and it was very good! The figurines were provided by the customer and the bakery displayed them on the cake.“

“A humble, unassuming, little donut shop run by the sweetest people. We've come here fairly often for the massive hot breakfast sandwiches that come with a free coffee. (Great prices compared to Starbucks down the street btw). There's a lot of options and I've enjoyed everything I've had here so far. The coffee can be caffeinated or decaf. The creamers are stored to the side with ice packs. There are other drinks in a fridge and snack options to the side of the register. The blueberry donut is really good. I've also enjoyed their custard filled donut which was full of custard. If you order a ham and cheese croissant, they cut it in half and heat it up for you, which is a nice service. The cheese inside is really good. The interior is pretty small, but there's some seats if you want to sit down and have your breakfast. We always get ours to go. On our most recent visit they were having a fundraiser for their friend that perished in the Monterey Park shooting. So glad to have this staple in the neighborhood and to have a small business to support! Highly recommended little breakfast spot :)“

“Cakes are moist and tasty. Especially this place is known for their durian cake. I typically order the chocolate cake with strawberries for my guests and they love it. Overall, any of their cakes are great. Sweetness level is perfect. Even the outside cream is delicious (typically I would throw away the outside cream whenever I eat cakes because it is too sweet, but the outside cream from this bakery is perfect and tasty).“
