Pho So 1 2837 Cochran St, Simi Valley Vietnamese • $

“This has been about the fouth time that we visited this restaurant and it gets better every time. The service is fast, friendly, and always there for you to make sure you have a great dining experience. The food is always cooked well with a generous portion. They provide beef, rice, and pork noodle soup. They have rice dishes, specials, and egg noodle soup. With a diverse selection of desserts and beverages. Pho, a Vietnamese noodle soup, is defined by its aromatic broth, tender meat, rice noodles, and fresh herbs. The broth is typically a rich, flavorful stock made from beef or chicken bones, infused with spices like cinnamon, star anise, and cloves, and simmered for hours. Banh pho, the flat rice noodles, are a key component, along with various cuts of meat (beef, chicken, or tofu), and fresh garnishes like bean sprouts, basil, and lime. The overall quality of pho is often judged by the depth and clarity of the broth, the tenderness of the meat, and the freshness of the herbs and accompaniments. There is a great flavor profile that has a subtle sweetness, savory notes from the broth, and aromatic spices. The texture of the meat is tender with soft noodles and a balance of textures from the fresh herbs and toppings. I recommend this restaurant, and I will be a returning customer.”

In-N-Out Burger 2600 Stearns St, Simi Valley Hamburger • $

“Our furbabies love the "pup meals" at In-n-Out. We went yesterday for our furbabies 12th birthday and had a HUGE order for their birthday party with family. Mia helped us out at the drive-thru. She saw our furbabies in the car and we told her it was their birthday and told her what we were doing. She was so amazing!! She was patient with us and our order. As we drove thru to pick up our food, she came to the window and said "hi, it’s me again" and handed us 1 of our bags, which was the food for the furbabies. Inside the bag, was a hand written note on a napkin that said "Happy Birthday". We were so touch that she went above and beyond to make our babies birthday special that we told the other employees that she needed a raise! One of our babies has a heart condition that he wasn’t suppose to be with us anymore so this gesture was so special and made our day!! Thank you again Mia!!!!!”

The waitress Juan (pronounced Jen) is lovely and a great waitress. Her personality is second to none and she will take good care of you. John, the waiter is also very nice, as well as Amy at the front desk. The food is totally delicious! The cashew nut chicken is my newest favorite and I crave it several times per week. Numero Uno Pizza 1960 Sequoia Ave UNIT 6, Simi Valley Pizza • $$

“I did not know the Numero Uno Pizza still existed. It had been over twenty plus years, and I could not tell you how excited I was when my wife and I were discussing dinner that we thought about how much we missed this place.

We were searching and found this little gem that was not very convenient from where we lived but were willing to drive.

We ordered the antipasto salad and Works pizza. They did not disappoint. It took me back to a time I had forgotten. We're so glad to have made the drive. It was a treat that we did not expect to have on a Thursday night.

One thing I did notice was that the prices on my phone were much higher than when I went to my office workstation computer. Probably because a third party manages the phone site versus the regular website. So save yourself a few bucks and order in person, or if you have to order online, use your desktop.”

2.4 Poor69 Reviews
Olivios Trattoria 585 E Los Angeles Ave, Simi Valley Italian • $$

“It was a truly delightful experience, having lunch at Olivios Trattoria. It’s a cozy little Italian spot tucked into a strip mall, but don’t let the location fool you—the food here rivals high-end Italian restaurants.

Usually the salmon with vegetables and a side of pasta is a perfect combination and every bite is outstanding. The salmon was perfectly seared on the outside while remaining moist and tender inside, with just the right hint of seasoning and citrus. The vegetables were fresh, lightly sautéed, and had great texture—clearly not an afterthought. As for the pasta? Cooked al dente, rich in flavor, and coated with a savory sauce that hit all the right notes. Everything felt homemade, not mass-produced.

The atmosphere was relaxed and warm, with attentive service that made the meal even more enjoyable. This place is a hidden gem for Italian food lovers in Simi Valley, and I definitely love to be there to try more dishes.

Highly recommended for a casual yet memorable Italian dinner.”

Denny's 5197 E Los Angeles Ave, Simi Valley American • $

“Sadly, I would recommend the Denny’s in Moorpark and NOT the “new one” in Simi Valley. We were SO EXCITED to see that a Denny’s was coming back to Simi Valley - and for the first few months we enjoyed weekly breakfast and dinner once a week. Servers started changing (NOT a good sign) and sometimes it seems like they really didn’t want to be there. And WHAT on earth did they do to the gravy? I use to love a side order or biscuits and gravy - but the last three times it was watery and had absolutely NO flavor. Today we had lunch at the Denny’s in Moorpark and the food was excellent and the servers were attentive, friendly - and ones we have seen working there for years. That has to say something about how management is treating them. The last time we went to dinner at the Simi Valley Dennys - a nice, familiar waitress served us and I told her we had missed seeing her and she said her days were cut to just 2 days a week. She use to work at the Denny’s on Sycamore and also at the Coco’s on Los Angeles Ave. (now closed). We’d sure like to see MORE servers like her at the Simi Denny’s - any restaurant that has such a change over in staff is not a good sign. A happy, well treated server will tend to stay if the Manager is good and cares for their employees. I’ve lived in Simi for almost 50 years and many of my friends who also liked the Denny’s on Sycamore now go to the one in Moorpark instead of the one closer to “home”. That is such a shame. In general, we all like Denny’s menu and affordable prices - but our local Denny’s needs to care more about providing it’s customers with the best food and service possible. Please, Simi Denny’s - hire better staff - including cooks - and treat your staff better so they will want to stay - and will be happy to serve their customers instead of making us feel like our servers would rather be somewhere else.”

“Delicious as always! Truly never disappoints. You can get your drinks less sweet if you want to cut the sugar a bit, especially after enjoying some sweet or savory breads. The hotdog bread, brioche, milk bun and taro are some of my favorites. Also, the Deluxe Chocolate Mousse is to die for!!! Drinks are consistent- my fave is the Seasalt coffee with coffee jelly & my sister loves the Thai Tea Boba.

First time at this location, SO happy I don't have to drive to the valley when I want a sweetie from 85. It was a Wednesday, so the selection around 6pm was scarce, although it allowed me to try a few I normally don't get or tried before. I REALLY liked the new Coconut sweet bread they had this time and I love the sea salt coffee with coffee jelly. The best pastries, always fresh and cakes are beautiful and perfectly presented. “Absolutely fantastic restaurant. I literally walk here and eat frequently with friends and family because I live on Presidential Drive, the same street that the Reagan library is on.

I strongly suggest the turkey croissant club sandwich! Delicious.

All of the eateries inside the library are really good. Actually I love the lemonade at the pub. I don’t drink.”

Hikari Sushi 690 E Los Angeles Ave #A, Simi Valley Japanese • $$

“We will not return. SOME staff is just too volatile & moody & rude. We have been going here often. The last straw was last Monday at 4:30 pm when the rude Korean waitress Sylvia (?) refused to seat us in the closest booths ( "No those are for employees "🤔) and then refused us another booth because we were only two people. Mind you we've sat at every booth many times every time because of our back issues. Even though I have a cane, she often makes us wait when the place is clearly dead. The only pleasant staff is Manny, Vanessa & the nice female Hispanic bus person. But Sylvia & the very gruff Chinese woman act like they are doing you a huge favor. I have overlooked their rudeness before, but this was it for us. Perhaps she doesn't like people line me with canes. We will go to Kyoto instead or Hai Sushi we do not need to be treated rudely.”

I love Cupid’s hotdogs, especially, the chili dog. Sometimes when we go to junkyard Café up above, then we come here also and get hotdogs to go.

I remember when this place was built junkyard Café used to be Fudruckers, and right next to that used to be a restaurant called the good Earth.

Aw, I miss those places.”

“Went in to try their Spanish latte, while the wife ordered a Matcha drink and the kids indulged in mini pancakes with Nutella and whipped cream.

The drinks were good, and the pancakes soft, a hit with the kids.

Place was quiet, not a lot of customers for a nice and sunny Sunday afternoon. However, a bit warm for our liking as there seemed to be minimal air circulation. Overall, a decent experience to sit down and relax with a cup of coffee, without the loud interruptions from other more crowded coffee shops.”

“Sitting outside is nice. Drinks are good. Beer is good. The food is good but not great. The portion size has decreased especially on the happy hour menu which is usually shared. When its slow service is good. When its busier service is very slow and hard to get the servers attention because they do not have enough servers on. They think they are saving money this way, but people end up leaving or not coming back because of the slow service.”

The staff today were super nice and helpful and the barista made really good drinks!”
