“Absolutely delicious food. Chulita Bowl was fantastic, hibiscus mimosa and latte were so good. Friendly staff too! Thanks for the wonderful brunch. 🙏🧜🏽♀️”
“Super cute space right off the beach. Food and presentation were excellent. Cocktails were well balanced, and love that they list their local farms, suppliers and partners.”
“Had the absolute best time here last night! So pleased. Chef brought out some sugar snap peas that were crunchy, tasty, and thoughtful for a hungry party! Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious! Fish sandwich 10/10, mussels 10/10, great for vegetarian, pescatarian, or pregnant like myself so shopping for raw & cooked options for everyone at the table! The “local spot” ambiance is unbeatable, felt like home. Thank you for the service!”
“For Venice this was 5* for me. Attentive staff, good cocktail/wine list, and most marvelous sausage/rabe orecchiette pasta. Loved the meatballs, okay pizza (mostly because all LA pizzas taste the same, soggy in the middle, yeasty fluffy crust and whatever else on the middle), but the pasta...it was a little chewy, a little doughy (all in the best way possible), perfectly saucy, spiced to perfection. The Nebbiolo they source washes down splendidly after all the protein/carb intake. Servers are attentive, knowledgeable, non-intrusive but always around and quick.”

“Brought some friends there to watch playoff football and a ufc fight. Ended up having the best filet mignon of my life. So tender you could slice through it with the side of your fork. Had fresh oysters from Virginia, which I was told are only $2 on Tuesday or Wednesday (have to fact check here). And probably the best thing on the menu is the bacon wrapped plantains, not a lot of food, but every bite is heaven. Wife loved her fancy drinks, but I prefer scotch.”

“Came here on a birthdsy friendly date night recommend by my foodie girlfriend. First thing you'll notice is the ambiance, I loved it. Our service was excellent. Now, as a fine dinning chef myself we can get into the food.
The dumplings in curry sauce, very nice!
Baked Oysters, perfectly cooked, flavor profile, meh. Tuna Tostada, too small and under seasoned. Roast Pork, is so close to perfect. Cocnut rice was lovely as well. Drinks are creative and fun. Desserts were decent. The bad? Portion sizes are a joke. And it's likely you'll have to eat again, after already having eaten here.
My thoughts? Overall, a fun experience, especially as our server was awesome and honestly made some good suggestions. The food is fun, well executed and very creative. The decore and over all ambiance is dope. My compliments to the chef for having balls enough to push elevated cuisine in new directions. 🤌”

“I tend to stay away from chain coffee shops because they truly tend to let me down when it comes to things as simple as an espresso, however, I was very surprised with the service and knowledge of the baristas who pulled an absolutely incredible shot and also gave my doggo a treat so he wasn't left out. Great vibe and super friendly staff.”
“The food and ambience & wine selection was excellent! We will be back!”
“Great food. Great service. Great people watching. New favorite local.”
“Really loved this spot! Easily top 5 in LA - great food, ambiance, friendly but not imposing staff. Highlights: sashimi, chicken karaage, kabocha squash. Lowlights: mushroom rice, tuna handroll (just not as unique). We also enjoyed the duck meatballs and beef tongue. Impressed with the cocktails and n/a selection as well. Can’t wait to try the duck ramen!”
Outdoor Dining
“Been here now 4 times and it keeps impressing me. The food quality and flavours are SO good, and the wine choices are great, haven’t gotten a bad one yet. The ambiance is a key element too, making it feels like home/community (the name ‘Companion’ is the right one!) with the LP player, the massive bookshelf, the wooden elements and the tables setup. It’s a favourite for us, where we always bring out friend and family visiting us. Love it’s in our neighbourhood!”
“Man oh man! Our dog paid for this one, his name is Bruno and he’s a wonderful little Frenchie. If you see him, feel free to say what’s up. He’s very social.
Anyways, Wallflower is a vibrant and inviting Indonesian place on Abbot Kinney. The bathrooms are wonderful, the outdoor space is fun, and the inside looks magnificent.
The service is also really lovely. They’re very down to earth, passionate, knowledgeable, and helpful! Everybody seems really content.
Now - the main piece - the food!
The winner is always the duck lumpia. It is colorful, crunchy, savory, umami, it’s got it all! The papaya salad was great but it was a tad bit too spicy - it feels as though it should have been communicated that it might leave us a little bit singed. But great work nonetheless.
The only other thing we had was the Japanese curry. Which was good not great. Pretty good!
The DRINKS were the stars of the show. My girlfriend had all the gin drinks, and I had the bourbon, whiskey, and reposado (yes, I’m crazy!).
Anna’s thoughts: “south east-sider was the number one gin drink. Very fresh and yummy. Second best was the red envelope. Very interesting with the egg white and all around nice! Third place was the object of affection. Which sounded amazing. But kind of tastes like a fancy vodka cran? If you know what I mean.”
This is a fun spot to with good company. !”
“I just had the best Bolognese of my life, and it deserves every bit of praise. The depth of flavor, the richness of the sauce, and the perfectly cooked pasta all came together like a little masterpiece on the plate. You can taste the freshness in every bite—nothing heavy or overdone, just true, comforting Italian cooking at its finest.
If you haven’t been to Venice Cucina yet, you’re missing out on some of the most authentic, beautifully prepared Italian food around. Everything feels fresh, handcrafted, and made with real care. I strongly encourage everyone to stop by and try it for themselves. This place is a gem, and their Bolognese alone is worth the visit.”
“When going to 401K it is not only having wonderful food & wine, but enjoying the experience it presents. We have been to 401K often and it never fails to leave us very satisfied from beginning to end. If you ask yourself would you come back? It would be a sounding YES!”

“The food is fantastic! We had spicy dumplings, Sushi rolls and Pad Thai. Everything was absolutely delicious and the portions were outstanding! - (Not the ridiculous appetizer size portions a lot of Japanese restaurants serve). We went on a rainy weekday evening, the atmosphere was quiet. The place has an upscale neighborhood feel to it, extremely warm and comfortable. The service was spot on, we never waited or had to try to get the attention of our server, she was on great.”
“Hadn't been here in years since we no longer pass this way. That's gonna change. Visited for dinner last night these guys deserve your business. They did a great job redecorating. The service is great. The food is awesome. Portions are generous. But most of all, the prices are extremely reasonable. In this age of skyrocketing costs, they've managed to keep themselves in my price range. Honestly just about everyone else has not. Reward these guys for their efforts. Get out there now!”
“My daughter turned 35 yesterday. Which means I went to Hama sushi 36 years ago. At that time my friend and I were pregnant and convinced ourselves hama sushi Tasted too good to contain any parasites.😄.
And so I was heartbroken to see that their exterior had been destroyed. Esther, I will be bringing by some shells and air plants today. Hopefully you will see that the neighborhood does not want you to get discouraged by the current conditions of our wonderful neighborhood.”

Takeout Restaurants
“A little not-too-out-of-the-way mexican restaurant. Both inside and outside dining at a fair price (remember this is LALA Land). No booze but only a $2 charge to bring your own. Friendly service. We visit santa monica/venice a few times a year and we'll put this place on our return list.”
“What a hidden gem! My husband and I were driving around super hungry and we happened to park our car across the street from the place. It didn't look promising but we were down for anything at that point. WHAT A SURPRISE! We had the BEST breakfast burritos here. Even the chips were great. I know it wasn't the hunger speaking because I enjoyed the last bite just as much as I did the first. We will be back!”
“This coffee hub in Venice feels like the moment Abbot Kinney’s creative pulse meets the precision of third wave coffee. Opened in 2009, it helped define Venice’s modern café culture by turning coffee brewing into something closer to a performance than a transaction.
You step through the brick archway into a bright industrial space where baristas work in the open, pulling espresso and pouring filter coffees with the kind of care that makes you slow down and actually watch. The vibe channels Venice’s blend of artistry and edge with a mix of locals, creatives, and caffeine purists who treat this spot like a daily ritual. It is one of those rare cafés where the coffee is flawless, the energy feels alive, and the entire experience captures the spirit of Venice without trying too hard.”
“Had a great meal! Forwent ordering potstickers in order to try the enticingly named Gang of 4 ×4 - a delicious decision! The Mao's Hometown was just-right spicy, and I'm sure they put more than $2 extra shrimp on my order. Service friendly and prompt, loved the art. I felt as though I had wandered back into college in the early '70s.”
“The decor made you think you were on vacation. The food took your tastebuds to a whole other level of flavor! This place went above all my expectations. Everyone should try to visit @PalomaVenice”

“Marlene was so lovely! A true hole in the wall and George puts care into the food! Their house made salsas & sauces are incredible, highly recommend the salsa verde and the green crema! (Can't go wrong with any tbh) Get the fish taco too!!! Can't wait to go back ❤️ ✨”
“Perhaps the best Al pastor tacos I’ve ever had, inarguably the best I’ve ever been served in a parking lot. The orange sauce is far spicier than you think it’ll be but that shouldn’t inhibit you from pouring it on. The passionfruit juice was a beautiful and refreshing way to recover from the heat! Worth going out of your way for and EXCEPTIONAL bang for your buck”
“the empanadas are exquisite. you have to try them to understand. this some homemade Argentina style 😋 deliciousness. Rico is a show to say the least. I will definitely stop by just to grab some more empanadas. my highlight of the boardwalk. like Rico says they're 🔥 fire.”
“Over the past year Lokal has been my absolutely favorite place in LA. If you’re a Venice/ Santa Monica or even marina del ray or Culver City local you have to start regularly coming here.
Not once have I had a bad dish or a bad guest experience. The staff is always incredibly friendly and accommodating, the food and bevvies are super consistent and have not had one miss on this menu.
Whether it’s an on the go AM coffee, a small lunch burger to refuel me or a cozy dinner sandwich to wrap up my day. This place has been the spot.
The prices are extremely reasonably ( if not the most reasonable in West LA) and again, can’t emphasize the overall consistency enough. Love ya lokal!!”
“Yum!!! I don’t know how this guy does it, but he’s making absolutely delicious and addictive pizza. A mix between Chicago bar pizza and New Haven thin crust. I ordered a double sausage, green peppers, mushrooms, and basil pizza. I asked for an extra crispy crust too. Perfection! He makes his own sauce and dough and with 2 painfully small countertop ovens, turns out mouthwatering pie. I’ve gone back a number of times now so he’s the real deal. I have the nerve to give him an 8.0 on the Barstool Sports scale. This guy needs a bigger place. No seating inside, just outside.
Oh, the pepperoni calzone was also excellent, but with pizza this good, why? And the pizza was only $15 bucks! If the owner gets a bigger place with proper ovens, watch out!”
“🥙☕️💜I am an avid taco lover. We had never been to this adorable Taco Restaurant in Venice Beach before.
The first thing I noticed was how clean it was.
I was now anxious to have my fave food in life - beef tacos! THEY WERE out of this world.
Our entire family enjoyed the food & a quaint ambience. The Coffee is excellent as well.
I give this “Young Kid Shop”’ 5 stars! Because, if it is not on the Menu, I would bet my life Miss NADIA would not only make it, it would be absolutely delicious!
It is the cutest little beach taco shop on the boardwalk in Venice Beach. Check it out.
💟🥙🏖️”
“The food was excellent! The service was excellent also ! Nice place”
“Cozy terrace to enjoy a meal outdoors & hang out for a bit. Options with shade or in the sun. Reasonably priced menu with a range of light bites to heavier meals depending on your appetite.”

“Never again - liars, cheats, etc. dont book them - Dont trust them - they lie! And sadly for elementary students they lie and then last minute cancel but then call back and say they will take job?n?b?b? What is up with that!!! Do NOT bother - untrustworthy and disrespectful. Go with las guajalotas LA sooooo good and lovely humans”
“Smoothies were delicious. I ordered the hang over and my friend got the açai one. Hoped for a quick drink stop before I had to go to work. However, there was only one staff and not too many customers (one ahead of me in line and one waiting on an order) yet I was there for over half an hour from the time I walked in. Staff was friendly but I dont understand how it took so long. Other customers behind me in line were drunk and chatty which gave for an interesting atmosphere.”
“I came here for a facial with Chieko and was blown away. Probably the most relaxing massage I ever had (I even fell asleep!). Chieko was so kind, funny, and genuine. She did a skin analysis first and showed me which products she was going to use and why. There’s no extractions, it’s just about keeping your skin healthy. Theres also a facial massage included. I left feeling like my skin was glowing, plump, and hydrated. I also love the concept - everything is authentically from Japan. The products, the matcha, and it’s a beautiful open space you can relax in before or after your facial. I almost want to keep them as this hidden gem because I know they’ll blow up!!!”
“Wish there was one in the LBC but probably good there isn't bc I'd be spending like all my money there lol. Moon Juice will always be my absolute fave. It's my personal vision for the future. High nutrient, apothecary level, zero waste food available as plentiful as McDonald's lol. So thankful for the creatrix that is Amanda Chantal Bacon and all she has taught me and enriched my existence with! The flagship location is amazing and I make my way there anytime I'm in the vicinity. I love the girls who work there and appreciate the thoughtful chats and shilajit shots. 😉”
“Passing this cute cafe for uncountable times, I finally made my way there. Yeah, it's always tricky visiting places at the busiest spot of Venice Beach - joy of finding parking spot in LA! Besides they mostly looked pretty busy on weekends, probably great stop to make while enjoying the stroll by the beach.
Their interior was nothing but SLAY. Period. Contemporary retro vibe, with great ambience to just sit killing time or even get some work done.
For the cup size, the coffee was quite pricey yet the great taste made it worth. I loved their Salted Caramel Latte, which was more on the sweeter side. I have been eyeing their pastries but unfortunately they were all gone when I arrived.”
“Crowd is absolutely obnoxious zoomers but the music is usually good and bumping. $7 Guinness at the time of posting 1/25/2024Can't stress how obnoxious the crowd is. They will step on your feet and act like you did something wrong. Very uppity crowd.”
“Amazing staff, fantastic food, great atmosphere. 10 out of 10 for me!”

“Had an outstanding night watching Chuck Prophet and the Mission Express at the Venice West. Venice West is an intimate venue with a perfect layout for live performances. Dinner was enjoyable and the staff was helpful and friendly. Now for the main event... Chuck Prophet and the Mission Express put on a heck of show. The band was tight and rocked the house. Every song was a hit and our group was blown away. Thanks for making great music! Looking forward to returning again for another memorable evening of great music and food.”

“This is another gem I take visitors to all the time, mostly for a late breakfast. I come here for 20+ years. I gotta be honest: If you are looking for the best ... whatever food .... in town, don't bother to go. This place is about atmosphere and having a good time. The food is good, and we had an amazing time with our waiter Shilly yesterday - and left well fed and with $100 for the four of us fairly priced - given the location I would have expected more. Wow - five stars for OK food? Absolutely. In my very own rating scheme, it is mandatory for five stars that I would be willing to do a 30+ min detour just to go to this particular place. And I did. Many times. And will do it again. We've been to the Ivy's in Beverly Hills the night before. It would be totally unfair to compare on a mere culinary basis. Go here - prepared to have a good time - and you will.”

“This is without a doubt LA’s best coffee. Nikita is the best. So attentive to his coffee making process and creative. The fig leaf is the absolute best thing to get here if you like cold brew and if you want something hot, the lavender is tasty and original. I also love the mocha. On the weekend you can also order a delicious focaccia from Steve inside Big Red Sun. The combo is… need I say more?”
