The salmon and the kids' meal were good, even though it was a Monday, the place and the bar had a great atmosphere. “We didn't even know it was a jewish/kosher place when we stopped in, until we saw some of the other customers. We weren't sure it was the place for us but left happy. The 2 of us shared our plates: The burger was very good & much fresher than a lot of other places. The hot & sweet chicken sandwich w/ candied jalapenos was excellent. The french fries could maybe have used a little more salt but that's just my preference; they were nicely crispy on the outside & I really liked the garlic mayo that came w/ them (Husband stuck with the ketchup). The service was prompt & friendly. No complaints about that at all. Restaurant prices are all crazy high nowadays. So I'd have to say their prices were reasonable for high-end sandwiches. It's a nice, homey p[lace. I'd recommend it even if you're not a jew.”

“I chose Consiglio’s for my birthday dinner, and I really couldn’t have made a better choice! Four of us visited for 12:30pm on a Friday, so it made for a quieter day on Wooster Street. Our waitress was friendly, and I can’t get over how delicious the food was. So many great homemade pastas, and everything was clearly made from quality ingredients. The braciola was so tender, and I really enjoyed their vodka sauce. Great drinks and desserts as well! Our family left impressed and full. A classy place without being pretentious. We will absolutely be back and will keep it in mind for more special occasions!”

Mia was amazing and remembered I ordered the chocolate dipped strawberries for the next evening and made sure to have them prepared and ready to go. Jade went above and beyond for my birthday bringing me beautifully decorated plates. They made my birthday weekend so special!! I miss the Darien location in the sense that it wasn’t this easily accessible haha. They will get tired of seeing my face (especially at happy hour!)”

The building and its grounds are amazing, the brewery its self is gorgeous. Attention to detail is above par in all aspects. The Brewery room and tap room one of the best i've seen. The upstairs in sophisticated and approachable. The husband and wife owners are wonderful and they way they attend to their guests and bar none. I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed and their beer is AWESOME”

They have cafeteria style seating and you order and pick up your food at the counter. It’s quite spacious with large picnic tables and bar seating, but it was almost full when we went past noon yesterday.
It took time to order and get our food, so if you’re in a rush, it may be better to pick up pre-made lunches or sushi from the grocery store instead.
I tried the Open Tamago Sando, which was so delicious I will definitely have to order again. The noodles didn’t have much broth or toppings, so maybe not the best option if you’re looking for something that’s not mostly carbs.
They had outdoor seating, which will be nice once it’s warmer.”

“Toad’s Place had an event where Shaggy was performing and for some reason I decided to put on a tight dress, 6 inch heels, & not eat all day to attend this event. Safe to say, half way through the show, I was not feeling well at all. The sweetest souls in the form of Gen Manager, Ed, & security, John, came to my rescue. They safely led me outside, brought me a chair and water while also staying with me to make sure I was feeling better. Then they even found me a space to sit inside so I could continue enjoying the event, safely. I’m not sure what could’ve happened to me tonight if it wasn't for the care, action, and support of these men at Toad’s Place. Shaggy also killed it. 😉! I 10/10 would recommend visiting Toad’s Place for their wonderful events & kind staff.”

The food was hot and tasty, but, at this time, there were 5 loud and a bit rowdy teenagers, the staff walked by them several times, and said nothing, perhaps this was a decent strategy, as, it didn't give them the attention that they were definitely looking for, and it didn't escalate further. Their energy depleted, they left quietly... It was a good reminder of how loud and rowdy we were as kids ;) No real harm and no foul. The staff were very pleasant, but, I could tell, a bit tired. This was after the dinner rush at around 8 p.m., on a Friday.”

The buratta was creamy and super fresh. For dinner we had freshly made gnocchi , the linguine and vongole, and the grigliata di mare. The gnocchi were like fluffy pillows that were made moments before getting to our table. The homemade linguine was perfectly cooked with plenty of clams. And the seafood was grilled to perfection with a tasty farro rice as a side. And then for dessert we had the homemade tiramisu and chocolate lava cake that put us over the edge. It was absolutely delicious! So light and airy and the flavor was divine! We are driving this cake all the way to NC and are 100% certain that our daughter will be thrilled ! The two behind the counter were very friendly and inviting, and the special grilled cheese with tomato or bacon with soup was PERFECT . the chicken corn chowder came out piping hot and didn't even need any salt or pepper. I'm usually skeptical when someone has to make my coffee instead of me doing it, but unlike dunkin donuts the gentleman made it just right! they seem to have a familiar and friendly customer fan base, and I would definitely go back again.”

The amount of single-use plastics we go through for convenience is doing serious harm to the health of our planet and life on it. I think the food service industry (and customers) can do a lot to change that.
I would also love to see some wild caught fish that is certified sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)!

“Toad’s Place had an event where Shaggy was performing and for some reason I decided to put on a tight dress, 6 inch heels, & not eat all day to attend this event. Safe to say, half way through the show, I was not feeling well at all. The sweetest souls in the form of Gen Manager, Ed, & security, John, came to my rescue. They safely led me outside, brought me a chair and water while also staying with me to make sure I was feeling better. Then they even found me a space to sit inside so I could continue enjoying the event, safely. I’m not sure what could’ve happened to me tonight if it wasn't for the care, action, and support of these men at Toad’s Place. Shaggy also killed it. 😉! I 10/10 would recommend visiting Toad’s Place for their wonderful events & kind staff.”

“It's Sunday and every once in a while... more often than not, we brunch! Lol. We heard about the bottomless mimosa brunch here at Cast Iron Chef Chop House & Oyster Bar so we pulled up to check it out! Here's how it went... Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on the busy State Street is this gem. There's no private parking, but plenty of comfortable, spacious street parking right out front. Once inside you're immersed in a very fine-dining, elegant, laid-back atmosphere. Lots of woods, intimate-low lighting and upbeat music. I loved the vibes in here. The first room is your bar room where the rail is off to the left, but with plenty of seating to the right. If you continue through the room you enter the main dining room where it's all booths and other tables. Service: Stacey was our server. Things got off to a bit of a rocky start, but they smoothed out throughout the brunch. Food/Drinks: The mimosa was okay... It was REALLY strong because there's orange vodka and orange liqueur in it. It kinda killed the flavor for me because I'd prefer a traditional mimosa with minimal juice, but... no matter. They're bottomless... or supposed to be... Just be mindful of who your server is. Brunch can consist of a prix-fixed menu, which is what we did so we'll be going through that. First up were the Homemade Sausage Gravy and biscuits. These were super smothered and fantastic. Hot, savory, meaty, salty and even had a bit of a subtle sweetness. The biscuit was soft, butter and had crispy edges. Next up were the Cinnamon Rolls. These were HUGE. Lol. Like, how are we supposed to eat AND drink all of this stuff?! The exterior of the roll was crispy and the inside very soft. Not over-the-top sweetness or anything. These were very balanced. Next up were the Bananas Foster Pancakes. But this thing was enormous. It was so thick, like literally an inch thick. Lol. Fresh bananas sliced right on top, it cut like butter, was soft with the perfect crispy edges and these were AMAZING. Punch of sweetness up front, fluffy texture and just a great pancake. For dinner, this restaurant usually serves Cast Iron Popcorn instead of bread, so Stacey let us try it! It was smokey, a little-little sweet with a little bit of salt and maybe a hickory barbecue flavor. I liked it. Lastly, I chose the Steak & Eggs over Salmon & Eggs, but got to try both since my wife was with me. Each comes with gigantic fried potatoes, 3 eggs, a piece of toast, caramelized onions and your protein of choice. My steak was cooked perfectly (medium-rare). The flavors were excellent. It was a little fatty and just was done very well. Value: $64.96 for bottomless mimosas and the prix-fixe menu. Probably the best value brunch in the state. SO MUCH FOOD and strong drinks. I don't know what else you'd want! In conclusion, I really enjoyed myself here and have revisited since my first time! Everything was just as awesome as the first. Check this place out if you're in the area!”

Food, we had a variety of salads and appetizers, two main courses for 4 of us. All were very good., to excellent Atmosphere, 4, and I only detract because we had to walk up a steep flight of stairs to the dining room, so if you are physically unable to make the stairs, your options will be limited. There is al fresco dining but it was too cold. I am sincerely looking forward to returning and trying more options at a more leisurely pace because it's the type of place where you can actually carry on a conversation without the clatter of dishes and the intrusion of others' conversations. The parsley worked magically with the lobster, and the fettuccine was done perfectly. And the lobster was succulent and sweet.\n\nNow back to my branzino. I actually never liked branzino the fish, mainly for its boring texture and taste. I ordered it just because I felt adventurous today, really. But this one surprised me. The crushed pistachios somehow worked wonders with the branzino, hah! And the sauteed spinach, as well as the grilled purple potatoes, were mind blowing. I will go back, if not for the lobster fettuccine, only for the spinach and the purple potatoes.\n\nOh, and we had a side of sauteed broccoli rabe which was no less miraculous than the spinach and purple potatoes. We agreed that this is a restaurant we'll visit again soon.\n\nThe dessert was a neat finish to the fulfilling meal. This was a happy, rainy evening.\n\nOh and we loved Francesco. We had servers who would constantly make remarks or gestures that left guests feeling bothered and uneasy, but Francesco was just right. He's so cordial and effective, always there when we thought to look up but never intrusive or inhospitable for the sake of being hospitable. I guess he's also part of the reason we felt so comfortable dining there.”

Everybody in attendance commented how good the experience was. The staff was friendly and professional, serving different pies on a timely basis. The salad and Gelato was a nice added touch. There was plenty of extra pizza for the people to take home. All trash was cleared, no extra work. I highly recommend this company.”

The 2 of us shared our plates: The burger was very good & much fresher than a lot of other places. The hot & sweet chicken sandwich w/ candied jalapenos was excellent. The french fries could maybe have used a little more salt but that's just my preference; they were nicely crispy on the outside & I really liked the garlic mayo that came w/ them (Husband stuck with the ketchup). The service was prompt & friendly. No complaints about that at all. Restaurant prices are all crazy high nowadays. So I'd have to say their prices were reasonable for high-end sandwiches. It's a nice, homey p[lace. I'd recommend it even if you're not a jew.”

I was a little nervous when we settled on a buffet-style for the main entree but that worry was immediately thrown out the window when the first person up said, wait when can I get seconds?! EVERYONE has commented on how much they loved the food. Many of our guest list is from out of town, but are petitioning that a open a location opens in Northern New Jersey The staff was just amazing during the event; almost every single person I have spoken to since Saturday has brought up an interaction where 'the staff clearly cares' ::insert story of staff member just actually giving a heck about a situation:: from a question answered, to a compliment given, and everything in between, the people who worked the event were rockstars. Brittney, their catering & event manager, is worth a million dollars; she cares, she's passionate, she is kind, attentive (she definitely works 24/7 as she emailed/ texted back no matter the day or time), & is just all around an amazing person. I will never not include her and working with her in my memory of our Reception. She and Deon will not steer you wrong in making selections that will work and will be memorable. All-in-all, if you are looking to host your event in a place where people take pride in their work, are dedicated to the customer and the food is real, feel it in your soul food, then Olives and Oil is your place!!”

“Today was my first time trying Shah Food, and I ended up going back twice in the same day. I tried the chicken burger first, and within two hours I was back for the hot wings. Their spicy sauce is really good. I grew up eating spicy food, so I can handle heat, and theirs has flavor and a kick.
The chicken and meat taste very fresh, not rubbery at all, and the bun on the burger was crispy in the best way. I’m already looking forward to trying the gyro next. Exam week has me hungry, and Shah Food is definitely becoming my go-to comfort spot.
