“The best food truck in this park for sure is the bao bun truck. Delicious buns, get the pick 3. Can't go wrong with ant of them really, but the banh mi style pork and purple bun is really clever, and the chicken and slaw one was really delicious as well.“
“The best, period. We’ve been going here for 4 years ever since getting a tip from a local. All praises to sing, no complaints. Everything is caught the day of, so it’s incredibly fresh. My friend who normally hates tuna will only eat tuna from the South Maui Fish Company. It’s just incredible food.If you don’t know whether to choose between the traditional and spicy, get half and half! Thanks to Leyla (hopefully I spelled your name right) for helping us out!“
“Argentinean Hawaiian fusion? Yes please. Did not know I was looking for this mash up, but certainly glad it was found. The fantastic salad the sandwich came with was more vegetables than I've eaten all week so thank you for that. Got the aloha choripan and it was fantastic. Great hawaiian flavor on a traditional sandwich. Ingredients all around were really bright and fresh.“
“The area in which this food truck is located is beautiful, plenty of spaced out seating amongst the trees and potted plants. The price is a bit steep for what you get. The plating and presentation are great, however the flavor(s) seem to be missing. I can't quite put my finger on it. The best I can summarize is that the flavors seemed fresh but very simple. Wife loved it, me, not so much.“
“Great food truck!Got the chorizo, al pastor and fish tacosThe chorizo were decent chorizo tacos nothing to cry home about though. The al pastor tacos were a very well done taco that were quite delicious. The stars of the show however were the fish tacos, the fish was excellently cooked with nice char and smoke flavor with an awesome mango salsa and crema.10/10 we'll be coming back in the next few days.“
“If you are staying near Wailea or passing through Kihei you definitely need to try this Shave Ice. You can get traditional ice with typical syrup flavors (like tigers blood, blue Hawaiian, root beer, lychee, coconut, piña colada, guava, fruit punch and so many more).Or you can get shaved fruit. It’s really amazing. The flavors are subtle but delicious! The ice is so fluffy! You can get it plain but I recommend getting with ice cream and topped with coconut drizzle. They take credit cards and cash. ($6 for a small, $9 for a large). It’s basically a food truck (an adorable VB bus named Gus) parked along the street but it’s definitely worth trying the shaved fruit (especially if you like more natural flavors). Next time I go, I’ll take a picture. I was too distracted by the deliciousness this time. ?“
“Top 3 lifetime burrito doesn’t have beans or rice! The Asada burrito was an astounding vegan revelation for what a plant-based version could be. Gigantic, delicious, dare I say meaty. Tortilla expertly grilled for that perfect bit of flakiness. Just go get one !Vegetarian options: All vegan - no dairyDietary restrictions: Vegan and gluten free optionsKid-friendliness: Several good kid sizes options“
“Best food truck in Maui, hands down. Best Birria tacos I've ever had. We came from the Bay Area where we have tons of good taco trucks and Mexican food in general, but this beats them all. We were here in July and had to come back again today. We brought friends with us and they also loved everything. Elote in a cup was so flavorful! Joey is amazing and always great talking to him. Go niners!“
“Highly recommend this place the staff is super friendly and their food is awesome and all vegan! Not much on Maui for us vegans but this place delivered a great meal for us and our little kids. Their vegan chick'n teriyaki bowl is the best I've ever had! Thanks guys!!!!!“
“Wow! Ordered the Tofu Udon. This should be at the TOP of your list when you visit the Kehei Food Oasis. My wife and i are ordered another dish from one of the other vendors and the star of the show was the Tofu Udon from Howziteh. Would absolutely eat here again and again.“
“Loved our meals from here. The Calamari was huge and the fish dishes were incredible. Also, offer vegan tofu options. It is outside a large food truck garden, but we took our food into the garden to eat, because it was beautiful in there too.“
“Consistently amazing food. One of the few trucks on the island that you feel like you've had a healthy and super tasty meal. The side salad is so delicious and the cook/server is super kind and helpful. This truck is the only one that I know of that asks to be paid after your food is served.“
“Great thai food...same quality as food truck in Kahului. It's my favorite so far...love the fried pork ribs, lemongrass chicken, pad thai, papaya salad..all my favorites. Only thing missing is prik Nam pla, which is a fish sauce and thai chili pepper condiment, they had the dried red chili pepper which sufficed, since I like a little more spicy thai dishes. This satisfies a thai craving.“
“This place is LEGIT!! and the best meal we have eaten on the island. We ordered Red curry , Green Curry , Pad Sa Ew, Coconut shrimp , and Thai fried rice. We've eaten Thai all over and we were impressed by the quality and flavor. If you're a Thai lover, you won't be disappointed.“
“We were so lucky to stumble upon Life of Thai this afternoon! They are located in a sweet ring of food trucks with plenty of shaded seating (dog friendly, easy parking). I ordered the vegetable fried rice and it was excellent. ALL the vegetables were SO fresh, plus a generous juicy slice of lime. The owner is adorable and so friendly. I was so impressed with the entire transaction that I had to write a review, which I rarely take the time to do. I can't wait to go back and try other vegetarian dishes he makes. Thank you Life of Thai. I hope you are successful here on Maui!“
“I live on Maui and stumbled on this food truck after a basketball game with my kids. Had not read the reviews, so did not know what to expect. What a treat! Just fantastic barbecue!! We ordered the baby back ribs. Best ribs on Maui and best ribs I've had in general in a long time. It's become harder and harder to find good quality food, post Covid and inflation, but this place hit the mark and would recommend it to anyone!“
“Wow! Oao certainly lives up to its name! I was just gifted their Firecracker roll (mahalo Christian! So very kind of you) and it was AMAZING! Highly, highly recommend. It was so fresh and had such great flavors! I will definitely be back :)“
“So good. I had the Pad Thai (3 stars-opened the sinuses). It was flavorful and the meat and veggies were tender. My husband had the Chicken Cashew Stir-fry (8 stars-had him reaching for the tissue box) and said it was delish. We both had Thai iced teas which were a perfect accompaniment to the spicy dishes. Highly recommend!“
“Best food truck we found in Maui! Location and atmosphere had such a great island vibe, picnic tables, palm trees and hanging lights. We enjoyed live music on Saturday night as we ate. You will be happy with anything you order there, but the Quesadillas were amazing! We bought a bottle of their special sauce to bring home…yes it is that good! The tropical drinks were also very very good.“
“Stopped by here a few weeks ago and .......wow! Ordered the Davy Jones Burger, Captain Jack's Ultimate Cheese and Shoyu Chicken. The portions were solid, the taste of all 3 items was wicked and the staff was great. Thanks Dan Nani Pirates.“
“My daughter specially wanted me to leave a review as a thank you for the wonderful experience☺️ We had empanadas and taquitos, they were both so delicious, plus they come with very tasty sauces. they were also very attentive! (I must say that I was impressed to see their spotless kitchen in the food truck)“
“Super yummy food. Had it a few times now and love everything I’ve tried. From chicken ramen to the furikake shrimp and dumplings you cannot go wrong. Lots of parking along the street and at south Maui gardens. Lots of tables and some games as well. Vegan options on the menu as “
“Oh my, what a delightful surprise this food truck was. Nestled amongst a half-dozen we opted for them and ordered the #1 braised short rib bowl... primarily because it's one of my absolute favorite meats. It was tender, delicious, lean, and plentiful... a home freakin run. Wished we could've hit it one more time!“
“I came there back in March 2024 and asked for a true Hawaiian Pizza. He explained to me that there's a difference in a Canadian Hawaiian Pizza and a true Hawaiian Pizza. I can't remember everything he said that was on it but I said yes I'll try that please. It was the best Hawaiian Pizza we have ever had. Thank you for showing us what the Hawaiian Pizza is all about. If we end up moving I will be a regular there. Such a nice guy, your Pizza was so worth waiting for.Kid-friendliness: Friendly for all.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to get to the counter.“
“Slightly off the main road, but certainly worth the detour. There is free parking across the way where the park is and a crosswalk nearby, so there was no hassle getting there. Excellent service and great ambiance. There was good entertainment in the picnic table area on a Sunday night. The crispy tofu sliders and the happy nachos were great options. They also gave us some bonus food items that were also fantastic. Never had anything like this food before, but would highly recommend. Purple lemonade was perfect, not too sour or sweet, tasted homemade. Absolutely will return here before leaving Hawaii.Parking: Park across the street in the parking lot next to the park. Then use the crosswalk on S. Kihei. Short walk and free. This was in the evening and on the weekend.“
