“I have been to this place a couple of times but its the first time I have actually tried their food and drinks. This is your friendly neighborhood bar in Itasca. And they have Karaoke Night on Thursdays hosted by Eric Donner. Fun and friendly people. And i would be here every week if its not so far from me. Ok now onto the food. Of Course PIZZA!!! I ordered the 10" Carnivore which is an All Meat Pizza. You can customize with whatever toppings you want. And i love love love it! I also ordered the Calamari and it was cooked to perfection. Perfect appetizer for sharing. I dont drink so the oh so very cute bartender Alex made me my very own virgin cocktail. I'll name it Cutie's drink. I honestly wasnt paying attention to whats in it but if you want it show the picture to Alex (the cute Bartender) and he should be able to make it for you! I would definitely go back and try more items on the menu. But even without the food, i would go back just because of the vibe. Everyone knows everyone and they welcome everyone!!!“
“I always love a good cheeseburger, and even though Buona is known more for their beef sandwiches, their cheeseburgers are outstanding! I'm somewhat of a purist regarding cheeseburgers, so I order them "plain" (just bun, meat and cheese with a touch of salt). Buona's burgers are extremely high quality and taste delicious; every time! The bread and the desserts were wonderful. Lemon sorbet served in a pineapple, how unique! Tiramisu was excellent as was the gelato. Priced reasonably for such good quality. Celeste was our server and she really goes above and beyond to insure everyone has a great experience. Her expertise and friendliness was so appreciated. “Sunday lunch was a wonderful experience for several reasons. The restaurant was open according to their posted store hours. A few years ago, this would have been a silly compliment. But these days, we have had several encounters in which we would arrive at an eatery and notice the doors are still locked even though it's past their usual store open hours. Needless to say, service was attentive, friendly, and efficient. Our party of six shared the smoked trout dip, calamari, charred pepperoni pizza, white mushroom and truffle pizza, Italian cheesecake, and tiramisu. The smoked trout dip is a tad high on sodium but I really like how it was served with flaxseed crackers. The pizza are served Romana style, therefore rectangular and fluffy. The crust is thin but with a crunch. Even better, they are half-price on Sundays!“

“Hands down one of the best restaurants I've been to. A beautiful place with a great vibe. They have a bar in the main dining area which is great if you're looking to hangout after dinner. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Everyone was so friendly and fun! Every dish we had was SPECTACULAR!!!. We ordered about 8 dishes and every single one was delicous. From the outside looks like a convenience store with Illinois Lottery displays but when you walk in, a classic Italian deli/grocery shop with dine-in area, a large spread of pre-made sandwiches, desserts, other homemade goodies, and a fridge/freezer full of take-home food and meals. Also nice to see they have a drive-thru. Pictured here is a 6" Paesano on their homemade bread with everything on it as well as hot giardiniera. Subs are made-to-order and you can see the cooks doing so. Meats are nicely portioned and the sub itself was not overly stuffed. Ordered this as a combo (which I could probably do without next time) which includes a bag of choice of chips and a fountain drink from the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine. Definitely want to try out their Serino Special Sub, Eggplant Parmesan Sub, Caprese Sub, or even their Pizzas next time. Their cannolis and cookies looked to die for so will need to grab those also.“

Service was excellent and they got us helped very promptly, even with the full house!I ordered pollo marsala (pictured) with The Godfather (drink). Both were excellent! My wife ordered the pappardelle al nonno and she liked it as well. Great atmosphere as well. Would recommend the high tables if you're on a date as they're a bit more tucked away.Parking: We went on a Saturday evening (6:30 reservation) and didn't have any issues finding parking. But since we’ve heard so many people rave about their pizza, we decided to give the place another try this last time we were in Chicago.The restaurant has plenty of seating, but going late on a Thursday night meant the place was pretty empty. We had prompt service, but the pizza does take time to make. Plan on at least 30 minutes to get it delivered to your table.We ordered the Malnati Chicago Classic and added mushrooms. I’m not a big fan of sausage, so I was a bit hesitant to order it. However, I really enjoyed the pizza overall. The sausage wasn’t overly strong, and the tomato sauce had a wonderful sweetness to it. The crust was cooked to perfection, and the mozzarella cheese was plentiful.So did this pizza measure up? Absolutely! We will definitely be back!“

From the initial planning with Sonia to the day of, we were blown away by the food, service and care we received. Elegant but still casual. Bright colors, nothing dark and dingy like several if the more old school Italian restaurants. Food is excellent! A good variety. I had the linguine with clans and I loved how it wasn't saturated in butter and garlic. Tasted like it does in Italy! Bread was fresh, beet salad was surprisingly delicious, and the Gelato was some of the best I ever had. We got hazelnut and pistachio. Coffee was good and strong. Service was good though we had to ask for several things which should have been already at the table, like grated cheese, salt and pepper, sharing plates should have come with the dessert as they gave enough spoons to know we were all sharing, etc. I've been here when it's jam packed and the service has always been great! This time it was less busy and we had to ask the bus boy for things. But, that being said, the waitress was very polite and immediately took care of requests when she was present. I wanted a table by the window and the host willingly accommodated us by making a 4 top for us. One plus from coming on a lesser busy time was that it was much quieter,l. Usually it's pretty loud in there when it's busy. But I always appreciate the uplifting vacation like atmosphere! I've never been disappointed, and this is probably my 4th time eating at Lucia Rose and will not my last.“
