“We've been ordering pizza here for years and we love the pizza. The other night we got an extra large pizza in order mozzarella sticks and a Chicken Caesar salad and the total came back $59 . When I looked at the receipt more closely, the price of the Chicken Caesar salad was 17.95... this was not a gigantic salad this was a dinner sized salad for 1 person absolutely I... “Sunday lunch was a wonderful experience for several reasons. The restaurant was open according to their posted store hours. A few years ago, this would have been a silly compliment. But these days, we have had several encounters in which we would arrive at an eatery and notice the doors are still locked even though it's past their usual store open hours. Our party of six shared the smoked trout dip, calamari, charred pepperoni pizza, white mushroom and truffle pizza, Italian cheesecake, and tiramisu. The smoked trout dip is a tad high on sodium but I really like how it was served with flaxseed crackers. The pizza are served Romana style, therefore rectangular and fluffy. The crust is thin but with a crunch. Even better, they are half-price on Sundays!“

“Hands down one of the best restaurants I've been to. A beautiful place with a great vibe. They have a bar in the main dining area which is great if you're looking to hangout after dinner. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Everyone was so friendly and fun! Every dish we had was SPECTACULAR!!!. We ordered about 8 dishes and every single one was delicous. You can tell they use high quality products/ingredients. Lastly, the price we paid for this 10 STAR experience was too low in my opinion. I would easily pay triple the amount for this place. From the outside looks like a convenience store with Illinois Lottery displays but when you walk in, a classic Italian deli/grocery shop with dine-in area, a large spread of pre-made sandwiches, desserts, other homemade goodies, and a fridge/freezer full of take-home food and meals. Also nice to see they have a drive-thru. Pictured here is a 6" Paesano on their homemade bread with everything on it as well as hot giardiniera. Subs are made-to-order and you can see the cooks doing so. Meats are nicely portioned and the sub itself was not overly stuffed. Ordered this as a combo (which I could probably do without next time) which includes a bag of choice of chips and a fountain drink from the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine. Definitely want to try out their Serino Special Sub, Eggplant Parmesan Sub, Caprese Sub, or even their Pizzas next time. Their cannolis and cookies looked to die for so will need to grab those also.“

But since we’ve heard so many people rave about their pizza, we decided to give the place another try this last time we were in Chicago.The restaurant has plenty of seating, but going late on a Thursday night meant the place was pretty empty. We had prompt service, but the pizza does take time to make. Plan on at least 30 minutes to get it delivered to your table.We ordered the Malnati Chicago Classic and added mushrooms. I’m not a big fan of sausage, so I was a bit hesitant to order it. However, I really enjoyed the pizza overall. The sausage wasn’t overly strong, and the tomato sauce had a wonderful sweetness to it. The crust was cooked to perfection, and the mozzarella cheese was plentiful.So did this pizza measure up? Absolutely! We will definitely be back!“

We have had the steaks in the past and they are very good. Yesterday was like eating at a McDonalds playland. The couple seated after me saw where the host was going and said no, they wanted the remote room. I’ll remember that. You can at least have the adults in a quieter area. The service wasn’t great. It took 15 minutes for the waitress to come and get the drink order. Not exaggerating. A group who came after us were served dinner before we got our appetizers. The parking lot was scary with work being done but we didn't let that discourage us and I am so glad. The complementary bread basket with focaccia was delicious. All dinners come with soup or salad. My husband was delighted with his the lobster ravioli topped with lobster sauce and sauteed shrimp. I loved my veal Marsala. For the quality and quantity of food, it was more than reasonable. “Open, very, summery atmosphere! Feels like you're grabbing dinner on vacation to places like Palm Beach or Miami. Such a great place for a brief escape from Chicago winters. Elegant but still casual. Bright colors, nothing dark and dingy like several if the more old school Italian restaurants. Food is excellent! A good variety. I had the linguine with clans and I loved how it wasn't saturated in butter and garlic. Tasted like it does in Italy! Bread was fresh, beet salad was surprisingly delicious, and the Gelato was some of the best I ever had. We got hazelnut and pistachio. Coffee was good and strong. Service was good though we had to ask for several things which should have been already at the table, like grated cheese, salt and pepper, sharing plates should have come with the dessert as they gave enough spoons to know we were all sharing, etc. I've been here when it's jam packed and the service has always been great! This time it was less busy and we had to ask the bus boy for things. But, that being said, the waitress was very polite and immediately took care of requests when she was present. I wanted a table by the window and the host willingly accommodated us by making a 4 top for us. One plus from coming on a lesser busy time was that it was much quieter,l. Usually it's pretty loud in there when it's busy. But I always appreciate the uplifting vacation like atmosphere! I've never been disappointed, and this is probably my 4th time eating at Lucia Rose and will not my last.“
