“What an absolute delight! Pure warmth and welcome from everyone working there. Given it location tucked into a residential neighborhood, you might think ‘neighborhood gem’ — this is much more. Truly top notch Italian cooking with house made pastas and fantastic sauces that could challenge any downtown place (and best most). The bread felt like something a grandma made in her kitchen. Loved the soup, then was blown away by my gnocchi with spicy vodka Arrabbiata sauce. Companions raved about the pizza and pasta with scallops.Definitely go here! And we will certainly be back.If I had to nitpick the row of video gambling machines did not seem to fit with the rest of the space and atmosphere. Must be a good money maker, so understandable.”
“I visited Home Run Inn Pizza - Melrose Park after being in the area for a haircut, and hungry at the time. I have had Home Run Inn Pizza on my radar for a while now just waiting for the opportunity to visit because I love the in-store brand. I ordered 2 slices of cheese pizza w/ an order of fries, which came as a slice combination where you choose 2 slices w/ one of sides ranging from fries, salad, mozzarella sticks, or chicken dippers for $10.50. Moreover, I waited for my order in an acceptable time frame in the drive-thru which was completely empty at the time of my visit. Now as for the food, the pizza appeared just like the boxed edition you see in the grocery store; the only difference is that it is sold inside of the actual Home Run Inn Pizza restaurant. Like the in-store boxed edition, I really enjoyed both slices of cheese pizza, as well as the french fries! Those fries, yes, they were very delicious! And I have to say that they smelled wonderful while on my drive along North Ave. As for returning, you bet I will! If I get just the slightest urge for Home Run Inn Pizza and open to make the drive out to Melrose Park. Atmosphere: 5 | Service: 4 | Food: 4 ~ You Are Your Choices. ~ Thomas G”
“We came in today for a quick bite and we just ordered Alfredo pasta the food was great however our server Stephen was exceptional. Stephen almost could anticipate exactly what we needed before we even asked. Everything was refilled and refreshed very often.Wheelchair accessibility: My grandma has a Walker and the place was easily accesible.”
“One of the few remaining ethnic food festivals around. The old-time carnival rides were full of fun for the grandkids. The food was provided by many mom & pop shops who have been cooking Italian for years. No admission charge and each vendor charging $2 - 3 per item. Adjacent Taste of Mexico section provides even more variety. The Folklorico dancers put on a most professional show as did the other entertainment stages. Will definitely bring the family back next year.”
“Good local spot that I’ve been coming to for years. Glad to see it hasn’t changed with the new owners. The wings were fantastic! With working all day, the weather being as cold and snowy as it was, I wasn’t much in the mood for smiling, but the bartender Alexis turned that around. She was very fun and attentive. Will definitely make it a point to return if she is by chance bar tending on one of my next bad days.”
“Great place to eat, our server was one of the best I ever had, my steak was cooked exactly like I asked, and as always, abient at this place is perfect, not too much noise and not too quiet to get bored.”
“First time here, taken care of by Elliot. He made exceptional drinks based on what we liked. Very impressed with his knowledge and service. Will definitely be back! Thank you for a great anniversary experience!”
“Food was amazing. Atmosphere was nice. And the owner took his time and come and talk with us and made a special dish for my wife's birthday. Senior Fernando. Thank you.Parking: Plenty of parking”
“Cuisine de Jibarito has very authentic Puerto Rican food with lots of Puerto Rican cultured decorations inside. We ordered the Tour de Puerto Rico and it came with A TON of food; we had lots of leftovers. It was very nicely displayed in three layers with a lot of variety of different types of Puerto Rican classics. I will say, the wait was very long for all this food, almost an hour and we were starving when we sat down. They mentioned it was all being made fresh, so just be prepared to wait a little for your food. They very graciously gave us an extra side of rice due to the long wait. If I want another Jibarito in the future, I will keep this place in mind!”
