“Great spot to have in PR! Moving into the neighborhood from city and having something like this close by vs driving into downtown and then looking for parking is a no brainer. This place has an elegant/victorian look and a definite city vibe. You do realize your in suburbia do to most of the clientele, but, it's still a nice pop-in for a date night starter or a great location before ending the night. I did notice the place did attract 20-30 something groups, which was nice to see. Also the drinks were created with a mixologist style that almost resembled the Violet Hour Speak Easy in Wicker Park. Try to get seating in the back if you can and see this place for yourself on a Saturday evening.. Enjoy-“
“I've had two parties of 50 - 100 people fuelled by Taco Melly. The tacos and empanadas were all delicious, warm, and individually wrapped so it was all very covid compliant. The vegetarian portabella mushroom tacos rocked my world. Everyone was so impressed! So I was so sad to see that this place is closed due to staff shortages. It's such a loss to the community and I hope you reopen soon!“

“Love that this place is dog friendly! My friend told me that it used to be a house but after it burned down they turned it into a bar. They have a heated indoor patio and outdoor patio in addition to the inside space. Our bartender was fabulous but I didn't catch her name. The drinks were all top-knotch, I wish they had food but they do allow you to bring in outdoor food. We ordered pizza and then a guy selling tamales came around. Overall a super fun night and can't wait to come back!“
“Worth the wait and must try! Beautiful and unique venue in the unassuming town of Des Plaines. Our server was kind and welcoming, food was delicious, drinks were fun and tasty. The only two items that were less than ideal, the horrible acoustics (incredibly loud) and although it was too on my list to try, the chicken shawarma rolls were underwhelming. Even with those two items, the great service and food quality it's still worth the 5 star review. We sat upstairs, which very much appreciated, being out of the hustle and bustle of the downstairs. “Sunday lunch was a wonderful experience for several reasons. The restaurant was open according to their posted store hours. A few years ago, this would have been a silly compliment. But these days, we have had several encounters in which we would arrive at an eatery and notice the doors are still locked even though it's past their usual store open hours. Needless to say, service was attentive, friendly, and efficient. Our party of six shared the smoked trout dip, calamari, charred pepperoni pizza, white mushroom and truffle pizza, Italian cheesecake, and tiramisu. The smoked trout dip is a tad high on sodium but I really like how it was served with flaxseed crackers. The pizza are served Romana style, therefore rectangular and fluffy. The crust is thin but with a crunch. Even better, they are half-price on Sundays!“

“I ordered the taco dinner with al pastor and steak. The portions were well served and the salsas they have are tasty. “I love this place! The music is always good and the drinks are great. I do have to say that the bouncer/ door guy absolutely kills the vibe from the second you arrive. “Amazing! The food, drinks and happy hour prices are a 10/10. The decor, music and wall art gave the place overall great vibes. My boyfriend and I spent a couple of hours here just drinking and eating, it was great. The only thing I would add is, the place was busy when we got there, so service was slow. “We went back to Citrine for pre-concert eats on our way to Chicago. This is a Mediterranean-type restaurant. Cocktails are good, food is good. Service is impeccable. Our server this visit was Theo, and he was attentive and friendly. The other staff from the young woman who sat us to the guys who delivered food and cleared the table were attentive and always gave us a smile. My husband and I started out with a glass of wine and a cocktail. We decided once again to share small plates together. We had the New York strip steak tartare. It's absolutely fabulous so we had to have it again. Fresh steak with a raw egg on top that oozes into the steak as you break it, it's perfection. We also got the homemade lepinja bread served warm with a couple spreads. I can't eat nuts or seeds and it came out covered with sesame seeds. No problem, Theo was more than happy to take it back and have bread made just for me without seeds. That's great service. We then shared the roasted beet salad which had arugula, goat cheese, avocado, and orange. It was a very small salad for the price of $14. Having said that, the salad was fresh and I liked the different textures, but it was the size of a small side salad and not worth the price. I would pass on this my next visit. The final dish we shared was the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were large and grilled perfectly, the grits were creamy. This dish was packed with flavor and some heat. Delicious. Citrine accepts reservations and parking is paid street parking. I definitely recommend this restaurant and you must try the steak tartare. So damn delicious!“

Same goes for a bowl of Irish cabbage soup for $10. Having said, other items like chicken wings and burgers were quite delicious and were worth paying little more for them. “okay, so we’ve been to Ørkenoy several times before and we always enjoy it. the food has a unique twist (Nordic modern) relative to Chicago’s culinary scene but it’s very accessible, a good value, and the drinks are solid. it’s usually just us, but this day we were a party of 8, including 4 children, which is kinda daunting for most restaurants. our server was totally great, friendly, and informative, and really welcomed the 5 folks who’d never dined at Ørkenoy before. the burgers were delicious, the kids loved the meatballs with lingonberry sauce, the pickled eggs were a hit, plus we adults all enjoyed our cocktails. one cool thing about the space is there’s a claw machine and freethrow hoops at the other end of the Kimball Arts Center, so the kids (with adult supervision) were able to divert their energies while the kitchen prepared everyone’s meals. i am uniformly amazed when i talk to chicagoans who have yet to dine at Ørkenoy, as it’s obviously very much worth checking out!Parking: Plenty of free parking options.Kid-friendliness: We brought 4 kids to lunch and nobody batted an eyelash. One of my all-time favorite memories at The Double was watching the Blackhawks win the Cup in 2013. When you walk into the hotel, the Thorn restaurant is to your right. The vibe is semi classy and intimate. It can also be a casual place to hang out, eat, and watch tv. Service was fantastic, they really take care of you over here. Prices are reasonable given the atmosphere. I had shrimp tacos, hemp hummus, and the Westcoast smasher burger. Pro tip: when you check in on Yelp, you get the hemp hummus for free. It was big enough to share with two other people.-shrimp tacos 5 - these are good sized tacos. Easily shareable. The shrimp pieces were fresh and juicy. Shells were soft. Avocado pieces were large chunks. The corn tortilla chips were crunchy and did not break easily.-hemp hummus 5 - fresh ingredients and warm naan. Very light appetizer.-Westcoast smasher 5 - ordered it medium and it came out perfect. It’s a very clean burger. Your hands don’t get oily or greasy. Meat practically melts in every bite. Special sauce amplifies the flavor. French fries were crispy and they’re on the thinner side. Well seasoned.“
